本開示は、例えば、車両に関連する情報を表示するコンビネーションメータに適用して好適な表示装置に関するものである。
従来の表示装置として、例えば、特許文献1に記載されたものが知られている。特許文献1の表示装置(表示機器)は、画像表示する表示器(液晶表示器)の視認側に透明の表示パネル(透明カバープレート)が設けられている。表示パネルにおいて、表示器の外側に対応する領域には、黒色インクによって形成された遮光層が設けられている。そして、表示パネルと表示器との間に、紫外線硬化型の透明接着剤(光硬化型接着剤)が設けられて、表示パネルは表示器に接着されている。
しかしながら、特許文献1の表示装置では、表示パネルにおいて、表示器の外側に対応する領域にのみ、黒色インクによる遮光層が設けられているので、表示器を非表示状態としたときに、視認者には表示器の領域がそのまま視認されてしまい、表示器の領域と表示パネルの領域とで、色差が生じてしまう。
よって、表示器の非表示状態時に、上記の色差を防止するために、表示パネルの表示器側の面で、表示器に対応する領域に、透光性のある黒色塗装を設ける必要がある。透光性のある黒色塗装を設けるにあたっては、通常、カーボンブラック粒子を含む黒色の塗料を使用することが考えられるが、カーボンブラック粒子は、紫外線を吸収する特性があるため、紫外線硬化型の透明接着剤を硬化させることが難しくなる。よって、表示パネルに表示器を接合することが困難となる。
本開示の目的は、表示器の非作動時において、表示パネルの全体にわたって色差を発生しないようにすると共に、紫外線硬化型の透明接着剤による表示器と表示パネルとの接合を可能とする表示装置を提供することにある。
本開示の一態様において、表示装置は、

これによれば、透光領域には、透光性を有し、遮光領域と同系色の非吸収層が形成されている。よって、表示器の非作動時に、表示パネルにおける透光領域は、遮光領域と同系色に視認されるので、表示パネルにおける両領域、つまり、透光領域と遮光領域の間の色差が発生しないようにすることができる。
加えて、透光領域に形成される非吸収層は、紫外線を非吸収とするので、紫外線を通し紫外線硬化型の透明接着剤を硬化させることが可能となる。つまり、容易に表示パネルと表示器とを接合することが可能となる。

第1実施形態について、図1~図4を用いて説明する。第1実施形態の表示装置100は、車両用のコンビネーションメータに適用されたものである。表示装置100は、車両に関連する各種車両情報をユーザ(視認者)に表示するものとなっている。表示装置100は、車両のインストルメントパネル(以下、インパネ)の運転席側に設けられており、図1、図2に示すように、表示パネル110、表示器120、および接着剤130等を備えている。
第1実施形態について、図1~図4を用いて説明する。第1実施形態の表示装置100は、車両用のコンビネーションメータに適用されたものである。表示装置100は、車両に関連する各種車両情報をユーザ(視認者)に表示するものとなっている。表示装置100は、車両のインストルメントパネル(以下、インパネ)の運転席側に設けられており、図1、図2に示すように、表示パネル110、表示器120、および接着剤130等を備えている。
表示パネル110は、コンビネーションメータにおける文字板であり、例えば、透光性材(例えば、透明なポリカーボネート樹脂等)から形成されている。表示パネル110は、例えば、横長の長円形の薄い板部材となっており、ユーザと対向するように配置されている。そして、表示パネル110の外周側の領域は、遮光領域111となっており、また、遮光領域111の内側の領域は、透光領域112となっている。
遮光領域111は、遮光層111aが設けられることで形成されている。遮光層111aは、表示パネル110のユーザとは反対側(以下、反ユーザ側)の面に遮光性の印刷(例えば、黒色印刷)が施されることで形成されている。尚、遮光層111aは、表示パネル110のユーザ側の面に形成されるようにしてもよい。
遮光領域111内には、車両エンジンの冷却水温度を表示するための水温表示部111b、燃料の残量を表示するための燃料表示部111c、およびウインカ操作に伴う右左折の方向を示すための矢印表示部111d等が設けられている。各表示部111b、111c、111dは、上記遮光層111aの黒色印刷が実施されないことで、透光性を有する目盛り、文字、図形等が形成された部位となっており、図示しない光源部が点灯されることで発光されるようになっている。尚、各表示部111b、111cには、図示しない指針が備えられており、この指針は図示しないステッピングモータにより駆動されるようになっている。
透光領域112は、表示パネル110の本来の透光性が保持された領域である。つまり、透光領域112は、遮光領域111の内側の領域(表示パネル110の中央の領域)で、上記の遮光層111aが設けられない横長の四角形に形成されており、後述する表示器120による画像が透過されてユーザに視認される領域となっている。表示パネル110において透光領域112に対応する反ユーザ側の面には、非吸収層112aが設けられている。
非吸収層112aは、透光性を有し、遮光領域111と同系色(例えば、スモーク色)で、紫外線を非吸収とする層であり、印刷(あるいは塗装)による被膜層として形成されている。非吸収層112aは、通常の黒色インク(あるいは塗料)とは異なり、カーボンブラック粒子を含有しないものとなっており、例えば、赤、緑、青の色素が混合されて形成された黒色インク(あるいは黒色塗料)となっている。非吸収層112aは、このように、カーボンブラック粒子を含有しないことから、通常の黒色インク(あるいは塗料)に比べて、紫外線の透過率が高く得られるものとなっている。尚、非吸収層112aは、表示パネル110のユーザ側の面に形成されるようにしてもよい。
表示器120は、デジタル画像によって各種車両情報の画像を表示する(画像表示用の)フラットパネル式のディスプレイとなっている。表示器120は、例えば、薄膜状のトランジスタを利用したTFT(Thin Film Transistor)液晶ディスプレイが使用されている。表示器120の表示状態(表示内容)は、図示しない制御部によって制御されるようになっている。尚、表示器120が表示する各種車両情報は、例えば、車速、エンジン回転数、積算走行距離、航続可能距離、平均燃費、周囲の他車両の状況等となっている。
表示器120は、ユーザ側から見た外形形状が透光領域112と同等の大きさの横長四角形を成しており、表示パネル110の反ユーザ側(一方側)で、透光領域112と対応するように配置されている。表示器120は、表示パネル110の透光領域112から表示面(表示画像)が視認される。
表示器120には、反ユーザ側から透過照明するバックライト121が設けられている。バックライト121は、発光ダイオードのような発光体および拡散板を有しており、表示器120をムラなく照明するようになっている。バックライト121から放出される光(発光)と、表示器120における表示面の各画素部の開閉作動によって各種画像が表示面に発光表示(形成)されるようになっている。
接着剤130は、表示パネル110(透光領域112)と、表示器120(表示面)とを接着するものであり、ここでは、紫外線硬化型の透明接着剤が使用されている。接着剤130は、紫外線照射装置から照射される紫外線のエネルギにより、短時間に重合硬化するようになっており、硬化速度が速い、接着剤塗布時の紫外線以外の制約が少ない、低温硬化が可能、一液性もしくは二液性で作業効率がよい等の利点を有している。
本実施形態の表示装置100は、以上のような構成となっており、以下、図3、図4を加えて、その作動および作用効果について説明する。
表示装置100が作動されると、遮光領域111においては、水温表示部111bによってエンジン水温が表示され、燃料表示部111cによって燃料残量が表示される。また、ユーザのウインカ操作に伴って、右左折する方向の矢印表示部111dが点滅される。一方、透光領域112においては、表示器120によって形成される各種車両情報の画像が透過されてユーザに視認される。
本実施形態によれば、透光領域112には、透光性を有し、遮光領域111と同系色の非吸収層112aが形成されている。よって、表示器120の非作動時に、表示パネル110における透光領域112は、遮光領域111と同系色(黒色)に視認されるので、表示パネル110における両領域111、112の色差が発生しないようにすることができる。
加えて、透光領域112に形成される非吸収層112aは、紫外線を非吸収とするので、紫外線を通し紫外線硬化型の透明接着剤130を硬化させることが可能となる。つまり、容易に表示パネル110と表示器120とを接合することが可能となる。
ここで、遮光層111aは、黒色系に着色されており、非吸収層112aは、インク(あるいは塗料)による被膜層であり、インク(あるいは塗料)は、赤、緑、青の色素が混合されたものとなっている。よって、通常のカーボンブラック粒子を含まずに紫外線を非吸収とする非吸収層112aを容易に形成することが可能となる。
図4に示すように、赤、緑、青の色素が混合されたインク(あるいは塗料)では、透過率が一定となり、非吸収層112aはスモーク色(黒色)に視認される。そして、図3に示すように、例えば、従来のカーボンブラック粒子を含むインク(あるいは塗料)に対して、本実施形態の非吸収層112aは、紫外線の波長領域において、透過率が高く得られ、紫外線を吸収しにくい特性となっている。
(その他の実施形態)
上記第1実施形態では、非吸収層112aは、赤、緑、青の色素を混合したインク(あるいは塗料)によって形成される被膜層としたが、これに限らず、材着樹脂成形板等を用いたものとしてもよい。

また、上記第1実施形態では、遮光層111aを黒色、非吸収層112aを同系色のスモーク色としたが、これに限らず、例えば、赤みを帯びた黒色、青みを帯びた黒色等、黒色に近い他の色としてもよい。この場合、赤、緑、青の色素の混合比を変える、あるいは、赤、緑、青の色素に加えて、他の色(黄、紫、薄青色等)を更に混合することで対応可能である。
また、上記第1実施形態では、遮光層111aは、印刷(あるいは塗装)によって形成されるものとしたが、これに限らず、電極等の配線(配線板)等によって形成されるものとしてもよい。
また、上記第1実施形態の図1に示したコンビネーションメータの事例は意匠の一例であり、水温表示部111bや燃料表示部111cの代わりにエンジン回転計や車両警告用のインジケータ類が配列されたものや、透光領域112のみのもの(表示器120のみで車両情報を表示するもの)もある。
また、上記第1実施形態では、表示装置100を車両用のコンビネーションメータに適用したものとして説明したが、これに限らず、他のナビゲーション装置の表示部、空調装置の表示部(空調パネル)、オーディオ装置の表示部等、他の表示装置にも適用することが可能である。更に、車両用に限らず、家庭用や店舗用等の表示部、あるいは携帯端末装置の表示部等にも適用することも可能である。
Claims (2)
- 透光性の板部材に、遮光性の遮光層(111a)が形成された遮光領域(111)と、前記板部材の前記透光性が保持された透光領域(112)とが設けられた表示パネル(110)と、
前記表示パネルの面の一方側で、前記透光領域に対応するように配置された画像表示用の表示器(120)と、を備え、
前記表示パネルと前記表示器とが紫外線硬化型の透明接着剤(130)によって接着された表示装置において、
前記表示パネルの前記透光領域には、透光性を有し、前記遮光領域と同系色で、紫外線を非吸収とする非吸収層(112a)が形成された表示装置。 - 前記遮光層は、黒色系に着色されており、
前記非吸収層は、インクあるいは塗料による被膜層であり、
前記インクあるいは前記塗料は、赤、緑、青の色素が混合されて形成された請求項1に記載の表示装置。
