이러한 용융아연 도금강판(GI) 및 용융합금화아연 도금강판(GA)은 도금액인 용융아연으로 채워진 도금조 내에 스나우트(snout)를 통하여 도금하고자 하는 스트립(strip)인 도금강판을 침적시켜 싱크 롤과 스테빌라이징 롤 사이에서 도금하였다. 그러나, 최근에는 도금장치를 이중 포트 시스템(dual pot system)으로 구성하여, 사전 용융조(Pre-melt Pot)에서 용융된 용융아연(Molten Zinc) 또는 용융된 유사합금을 일정한 기울기를 갖는 탕로(Launder)를 통해 도금조(Main Pot or Working Pot)로 전달하고, 이러한 도금조에 도금강판이 침적되어 도금이 이루어지게 한다.
연속용융 도금공정(CGL)에서는 도금조에서 도금되어 소모되는 도금액의 양만큼 사전 용융조로부터 탕로를 통해 도금액을 공급 받아야 한다. 사전 용융조에 대형 잉곳(ingot)을 투입하여 탕로를 통해 도금조로 넘치게 함으로서 도금액 공급을 가능하게 하는데 이 과정에서 도금액이 응고되지 않도록 탕로 내 온도 및 분위기 유지가 필요하다.
그러나 이러한 연속용융 도금공정에서는 용탕 공급속도가 일정하지 않고, 공급속도가 늦은 문제가 있다. 또한, 도금조 내의 도금욕의 성분 조정이 어렵다. 또한, 탕로 내부에 생성하는 산화물이 도금조의 용탕을 오염시켜 결국 도금 제품의 표면결함을 유발시킨다. 또한, 탕로 내부의 온도유지를 위해 가스버너를 운용해야 하고, 이 때 부산물로 발생하는 산화물을 제거해야 하는 등 설비 및 유지 관리에 어려운 요소가 많다.
공개특허공보 제10-2012-0071832호는 소재 냉각이송장치에 대하여 개시하고 있으나, 폐열을 대기중으로 방산하고 있는 문제점을 그대로 가지고 있다.
본 발명의 실시예는 탕로에 추가로 가스버너를 설치할 필요가 없고, 사전 용융조에서 잉곳을 직투입 함으로써 발생하는 도금욕 오버플로우(overflow)에 상관없이 도금조에서 소모되는 도금액의 양만큼 사전 용융조로부터 도금욕을 연속적으로 공급 가능하게 할 수 있는 도금장치 및 도금방법을 제공하고자 한다.
본 발명의 일 측면에 따르면, 용융 도금액을 수용하는 사전 용융조; 강판에 도금되는 상기 용융 도금액을 수용하는 도금조; 상기 사전 용융조와 상기 도금조를 연결하여 상기 용융 도금액을 전달하는 탕로; 상기 사전 용융조의 상기 용융 도금액을 상기 탕로로 전달하는 관 부재; 및 상기 관 부재에 가스를 공급하는 가스 공급부재를 포함하는 도금장치가 제공될 수 있다.
또한, 상기 관 부재는 상기 사전 용융조의 상기 용융 도금액이 유입되는 유입구가 상기 사전 용융조의 상기 용융 도금액에 침적될 수 있다.
또한, 상기 관 부재에서 상기 유입구는 상기 사전 용융조에 수용된 상기 용융 도금액의 수위의 절반 아래에 위치할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 가스 공급부재는 상기 가스가 공급되는 공급부가 상기 사전 용융조의 상기 용융 도금액의 표면 위에 위치하고, 상기 가스가 상기 관 부재로 전달되는 배출구가 상기 관 부재의 상기 유입구 내측에 위치할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 가스 공급부재가 공급하는 가스는 비활성가스 또는 비산화성가스일 수 있다.
또한, 상기 가스 공급부재는 가스의 유량을 조절할 수 있는 노즐을 더 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 관 부재는 상기 탕로와 연결되고, 회전 가능하게 마련되는 연결부를 더 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 관 부재는 상하 방향으로 이동 가능하게 마련될 수 있다.
또한, 상기 관 부재는 랙 피니언 기어 조립체에 의해 상하 방향으로 이동 가능하게 마련될 수 있다.
또한, 상기 사전 용융조에서 상기 도금조로 전달되는 상기 용융 도금액의 이물질을 여과하는 필터를 더 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 측면에 따르면, 용융 도금액을 생성하는 사전 용융조에서 상기 용융 도금액으로 강판을 도금하는 도금조로 상기 용융 도금액을 전달하는 도금방법에 있어서, 상기 사전 용융조와 상기 도금조를 연결하여 상기 용융 도금액을 전달하는 탕로에 가스를 공급하는 도금방법이 제공될 수 있다.
또한, 상기 가스는 섭씨 350도 이상 1300도 이하의 온도로 마련될 수 있다.
또한, 상기 가스는 비활성가스 또는 비산화성가스일 수 있다.
또한, 상기 용융 도금액은 상기 사전 용융조에 설치되는 관 부재를 통해 상기 탕로로 전달되고, 상기 가스는 상기 사전 용융조의 상기 용융 도금액에 침적되는 상기 관 부재의 유입구로 공급될 수 있다.
또한, 상기 가스가 공급되어 상기 관 부재 내의 상기 용융 도금액의 비중이 감소할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 도금조에서 소모되는 상기 용융 도금액의 유량 정보를 이용하여 상기 사전 용융조에서 상기 탕로로 전달하는 상기 용융 도금액의 유량을 조절할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 도금조에서 소모되는 상기 용융 도금액의 유량 정보를 이용하여 상기 가스의 유량을 조절할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 가스의 유량은 상기 도금조에서 소모되는 상기 용융 도금액의 유량의 2배 이상일 수 있다.
본 발명의 실시예에 따른 도금장치 및 도금방법은 도금조의 도금욕 레벨, 온도, 및 조성을 일정하게 유지시킬 수 있고, 정밀하게 제어 가능하기 때문에 도금강판의 품질을 개선시킬 수 있다.
또한, 탕로를 통해 산화물이 유입되는 것을 방지하여 도금강판의 표면 품질을 개선시킬 수 있다.
또한, 탕로 내부에 온도유지를 위한 가스버너를 운용할 필요가 없고, 이 때 발생하는 산화물의 생성을 방지할 수 있다. 그리고 이를 통해 도금장치의 유지 관리비를 저감할 수 있다.
또한, 고온의 비활성가스를 주입하는 노즐과 관 부재를 탈부착 및 교체가 용이한 구조로 제작할 수 있어 사용 내구성이 향상되고 조업 안정성이 우수하다.

이하에서는 본 발명의 실시예들을 첨부 도면을 참조하여 상세히 설명한다.
이하에 소개되는 실시예들은 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에게 본 발명의 사상이 충분히 전달될 수 있도록 하기 위해 예로서 제공되는 것이다. 본 발명은 이하 설명되는 실시예들에 한정되지 않고 다른 형태로 구체화될 수도 있다. 본 발명을 명확하게 설명하기 위하여 설명과 관계없는 부분은 도면에서 생략하였으며 도면들에 있어서, 구성요소의 폭, 길이, 두께 등은 편의를 위하여 과장되어 표현될 수 있다. 명세서 전체에 걸쳐서 동일한 참조번호들은 동일한 구성요소들을 나타낸다.
도 1은 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 도금장치(1)를 개략적으로 나타내는 도면이다.
도 1을 참고하면, 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 도금장치(1)는 아연을 용융시켜 용융 도금액인 용융아연(Molten Zinc)을 생성하거나 용융 도금액을 수용하는 사전 용융조(Premelt Pot)(100), 강판에 도금되는 용융아연을 수용하는 도금조(Main Pot or Working Pot)(200), 그리고 사전 용융조(100)와 도금조(200) 사이에 위치하는 탕로(론더, Launder)(300)를 포함한다.
한편, 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 도금장치에 사용되는 도금액은 용융아연에 한정되지 않는다. 도금장치는 아연(Zn), 알루미늄(Al), 또는 마그네슘(Mg) 등을 포함하는 다양한 도금액을 사용할 수 있다.
사전 용융조(100)에는 잉곳(Ingot)(I)이 투하되어 도금욕에 용해된다.
탕로(300)는 사전 용융조(100)와 도금조(200)를 연결하여 도금액을 전달하기 위한 것으로, 기울기를 가지도록 마련될 수 있다. 이 경우 사전 용융조(100)에서 도금액이 유입되는 높이는 도금조(200)에서 도금액이 유출되는 높이 보다 높게 마련되어 도금액은 위치 에너지에 의해 도금조(200) 내부로 이동할 수 있다.
도 2는 도금조(200)에서의 도금공정을 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 2를 참고하면, 소둔로(미도시)에서 열처리된 스트립(S)은 스나우트(210)를 통해 도금조(200)의 도금욕 속으로 유입된 후 도금조(200)를 빠져 나오면서 스트립(S) 표면에는 용융아연이 부착된다. 용융아연 도금된 스트립(S)은 도금조(200) 안에서 싱크롤(220)에 의해 방향이 전환되고 안내롤(230))에 의해 안내되어 수직으로 이동한다.
참고로, 도금조(200)를 지나면서 스트립(S)의 표면에 피복된 도금층은 에어 나이프(240)에서 고속으로 분사되는 가스 등에 의해 적정 두께로 조절된 후, 냉각장치(미도시)를 통과하면서 냉각되어 응고된 후 상부롤(미도시)에 의해 방향이 전환되어 다음 공정으로 이동한다.
도 3은 본 발명의 제1 실시예에 따른 가스 공급장치(400)를 확대하여 나타내는 도면이다.
도 3을 참고하면, 제1 실시예에 따른 가스 공급장치(400)는 청정한 도금액을 수용하는 관 부재(410)와, 관 부재(410)의 내부에 가스를 공급하는 가스 공급부재(420)와, 탕로(300)로 유입되는 도금액의 이물질을 여과하는 필터(430)를 포함할 수 있다.
관 부재(410)는 속이 빈 튜브 형상일 수 있으며, 일 측이 개방되어 유입구(411)가 마련되고, 타 측이 개방되어 유출구(412)가 마련되며, 유입구(411)와 유출구(412)를 연결하는 관로(413)가 마련될 수 있다. 일 예로, 관 부재(410)는 유입구(411)가 도금욕에 침적되도록 상하 방향으로 배치될 수 있다.
그리고 유입구(411)는 사전 용융조(100)의 저부에 위치하여 내부에 청정한 도금욕을 함유할 수 있다. 그리고 유출구(412)는 도금욕 레벨(level)(L) 보다 높은 곳에 위치하여 탕로(300)와 연결될 수 있다.
그리고 관 부재(410)는 금속 또는 비금속으로 마련될 수 있다.
한편, 관 부재(410)가 도금욕에 침적되는 부분의 내용적은 공급하고자 하는 도금액량에 맞추어 선택될 수 있다. 즉, 관로(413)의 내경이 미리 정해진 경우에, 관 부재(410)의 침적깊이(H-h)는 공급하고자 하는 도금액량에 맞추어 선택될 수 있다.
그리고 관로(413)의 내경과 침적깊이(H-h)는 펌핑 가능한 양정(h)이 확보되도록 준비될 수 있다. 일 예로, 침적깊이(H-h)는 전체높이(H)의 절반 이상으로 마련될 수 있다. 바람직하게는, 침적깊이(H-h)는 전체높이(H)의 70% 이상으로 마련될 수 있다. 이 때, 전체높이(H)는 유입구(411)와 유출구(412) 사이의 높이 차이로 계산할 수 있다.
그리고 양정(h)은 도금욕 레벨(L)에서 유출구(412) 사이의 거리를 만족하도록 조절될 수 있다. 도면에서는 관 부재(410) 내부의 도금욕의 높이가 유출구(412) 보다 높은 모습을 도시하였다.
가스 공급부재(420)는 일 측이 도금욕 외부에 마련되고 타 측이 관 부재(410) 내측에 마련되도록 연장되어 고온의 비활성가스 또는 비산화성가스를 청정한 도금액을 수용하는 관로(413)에 분사시킬 수 있다.
그리고 가스 공급부재(420)는 가스가 공급되는 공급부가 도금욕의 표면 위에 위치하고, 가스를 관 부재(410)로 전달하는 배출구가 관 부재(410)의 유입구(411) 내측에 위치할 수 있다. 일 예로, 가스 공급부재(420)는 아래 방향으로 절곡되는 “U”자 형상을 포함하여 배출구가 위를 향하도록 배치될 수 있다. 이 때, 배출구를 통해 배출되는 가스는 도금욕 내에서 기포가 상승하는 방법으로 관로(413)를 이동할 수 있다.
그리고 배출구는 관 부재(410)의 유입구(411) 내측에서 더 높은 위치에 배치될 수 있다. 따라서 배출구를 통해 배출되는 가스가 관 부재(410) 외측으로 손실되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
가스 공급부재(420)는 관 부재(410) 내부로 고온의 비활성가스를 공급하여 관로(413)에 수용되는 도금욕의 밀도를 떨어뜨림으로써 탕로(300)를 통해 도금조(200)에 도금액을 공급할 수 있다.
구체적으로, 청정한 도금액을 함유하고 있는 관 부재(410) 내부에 고온의 비활성가스를 공급하면, 관로(413)의 도금액과 유입구(411)를 통해 주입되는 비활성가스가 서로 혼합되어 도금욕의 단위부피당 비중이 감소하게 된다. 결과적으로 관 부재(410) 내부의 도금욕의 압력이 감소하여 관 부재(410) 외부의 도금욕의 압력에 의해 관 부재(410) 내부의 도금욕이 상승함으로써 양정(h)을 확보할 수 있다.
그리고 가스 공급부재(420)는 도금욕으로 분사되는 비활성가스의 유량을 조절할 수 있는 노즐(421)을 포함할 수 있다.
비활성가스의 공급유량은 도금조(200)에 공급되는 도금욕의 배출유량과 상관관계를 가진다. 즉, 가스 공급부재(420)는 노즐(421)을 이용하여 고온의 비활성가스의 유량을 조절함으로써 도금조(200)에 공급되는 도금액의 공급유량을 조절할 수 있다.
일 예로, 양정(h)이 전체높이(H)의 절반일 경우에는 공급하고자 하는 도금액의 유량 보다 2 배 이상의 유량으로 비활성가스를 공급해야 한다.
한편, 가스 공급부재(420)를 통해 주입되는 비활성가스의 온도는 섭씨 350도 내지 1300도 사이일 수 있다. 그리고 도금장치(1)는 비활성가스의 온도를 조절할 수 있는 보일러(미도시)를 포함할 수 있다.
가스 공급부재(420)는 공급되는 비활성가스의 온도를 섭씨 350도 이상에서 도금욕 성분인 아연의 휘발 온도인 1300도 이하로 가열하여 관 부재(410)에 분사할 수 있다.
그리고 고온의 비활성가스는 제공 가능한 양정(h)을 증가시킬 수 있고, 이 비활성가스가 혼합된 도금욕이 긴 탕로(300)를 통과할 때 보온 역할을 병행하여 도금욕이 응고되는 것을 방지할 수 있다. 그리고 도금욕이 산화되는 현상을 방지하여 산화된 도금욕에 의해 발생할 수 있는 스트립(S)의 표면결함을 방지할 수 있다. 그리고 공급가스의 온도를 적정하게 조절함으로써 종래에 탕로(300) 내부에 산화성 가스버너를 운용하던 때와 비교하여 유지비를 감소시킬 수 있다.
또한, 가스 공급부재(420)를 이용하면 연속 도금공정이 가능할 수 있다. 연속 도금공정에서는 도금조(200)에서 스트립(S)에 도금되어 소모되는 도금액의 양만큼 사전 용융조(100)의 청정한 도금액을 공급받을 수 있다. 그리고 연속 도금공정에서 공급되는 도금액의 양은 자동으로 제어되거나 작업자의 판단에 의해 수동으로 제어될 수 있다.
필터(430)는 사전 용융조(100) 내의 도금욕 불순물이 도금조(200)로 혼입되지 않도록 하기 위해 관 부재(410)와 탕로(300)의 연결부에 설치될 수 있다. 그리고 필터(430)는 메쉬 형상으로 마련될 수 있으며, 일 예로, 50 um 이상 5 mm 이하의 메쉬를 통해 도금욕 내 불순물을 차단할 수 있다. 그리고 필터(430)는 섭씨 400도 내지 700도 사이의 고온으로 가열된 상태에서 사용되거나 초음파를 이용하여 불순물의 흡착을 막을 수 있다.
참고로, 가스 공급장치(400)의 성능을 검사하기 위해 실험실에서 진행한 검사 결과를 [표 1]에 나타내었다.
[표 1]에서 시간은 2l 욕조를 채우는 데 소요되는 시간을 기준으로 하였으며, 용융아연 공급능력은 용융아연의 비중을 6.5g/cm3로 가정하여 실험을 진행하였다.

위 실험결과에 따르면, 외경이 50 mm 이고 내경이 30 mm 인 관 부재(410)를 사용하고, 도금욕 내 침적깊이(H-h)가 900 mm 일 때, 도금욕에 침적되는 부분의 내용적은 636 cm2이며 이때 5 l/min의 가스를 관 부재(410) 내부로 주입하면 약 80 l/hr의 도금액을 공급하는 것이 가능하다. 그리고 비중 6.5g/cm3의 용융아연의 경우 도금액을 500 kg/hr의 효율로 공급하는 것이 가능하다.
도 4는 본 발명의 제2 실시예에 따른 가스 공급장치(401)를 확대하여 나타내는 도면이다.
도 4를 참고하면, 제2 실시예에 따른 가스 공급장치(401)는 침적깊이(H-h)를 조절할 수 있다. 즉, 관 부재(410)의 위치 또는 깊이를 조절할 수 있다.
예를 들어, 관 부재(410)는 랙 피니언 기어 방식에 의해 상하 이동이 가능하도록 마련될 수 있다. 관 부재(410)의 일 측에는 랙 기어(415)가 마련되고, 사전 용융조(100)의 일 측에는 피니언 기어(416)가 설치될 수 있다. 그리고 피니언 기어(416)는 모터(417)와 전기적으로 연결되어 모터(417)의 동력에 의해 회전하도록 마련될 수 있다. 그리고 관 부재(410)의 외측 또는 사전 용융조(100)의 내측에는 레일이 설치되어 관 부재(410)의 상하 이동을 가이드할 수 있다.
또한, 랙 기어(415)와 피니언 기어(416)는 그 위치가 달라질 수 있다. 즉, 관 부재(410)의 일 측에는 피니언 기어가 마련되고, 사전 용융조(100)의 일 측에는 랙 기어(415)가 설치될 수 있다.
한편, 도 4에 도시한 것과 달리, 관 부재(410)는 다른 방식으로 상하 위치가 달라질 수 있다. 예를 들어, 관 부재(410)는 실린더, 체인, 또는 기타 기어 결합방식에 의해 상하 위치가 달라지도록 마련될 수 있다.
또한, 가스 공급장치(401)는 관 부재(410)와 탕로(300)의 연결부(414)가 가변적으로 마련될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 관 부재(410)의 상하 위치가 달라지면 탕로(300)와 결합 각도가 달라질 수 있다.
연결부(414)는 회전 가능한 구조로 마련될 수 있다. 일 예로, 연결부(414)는 힌지 구조로 마련될 수 있다.
본 발명은 첨부된 도면에 도시된 일 실시예를 참고로 설명되었으나, 이는 예시적인 것에 불과하며, 당해 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 이로부터 다양한 변형 및 균등한 타 실시예가 가능하다는 점을 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 발명의 진정한 범위는 첨부된 청구 범위에 의해서만 정해져야 할 것이다.

  1. 용융 도금액을 수용하는 사전 용융조;
    강판에 도금되는 상기 용융 도금액을 수용하는 도금조;
    상기 사전 용융조와 상기 도금조를 연결하여 상기 용융 도금액을 전달하는 탕로;
    상기 사전 용융조의 상기 용융 도금액을 상기 탕로로 전달하는 관 부재; 및
    상기 관 부재에 가스를 공급하는 가스 공급부재를 포함하는 도금장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 관 부재는 상기 사전 용융조의 상기 용융 도금액이 유입되는 유입구가 상기 사전 용융조의 상기 용융 도금액에 침적되는 도금장치.
  3. 제2항에 있어서,
    상기 관 부재에서 상기 유입구는 상기 사전 용융조에 수용된 상기 용융 도금액의 수위의 절반 아래에 위치하는 도금장치.

    상기 가스의 유량은 상기 도금조에서 소모되는 상기 용융 도금액의 유량의 2배 이상인 도금방법.
