Abstract

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von polykristallinem Siliciumgranulat in einem Wirbelschichtreaktor. Das Verfahren umfasst eine Fluidisierung von Siliciumkeimpartikeln mittels eines Fluidisiergases in einer Wirbelschicht, die mittels einer Heizvorrichtung aufgeheizt wird, wobei durch Zugabe eines Wasserstoff und Silan und/oder Halogensilan enthaltenden Reaktionsgases mittels Pyrolyse elementares Silicium an den Siliciumkeimpartikeln unter Bildung des polykristallinen Siliciumgranulats abgeschieden wird. In einem kontinuierlichen Prozess wird dabei Abgas aus dem Wirbelschichtreaktor abgeführt und aus diesem Abgas zurückgewonnener Wasserstoff als Kreisgas wieder dem Wirbelschichtreaktor zugeführt. Das Kreisgas weist einen Stickstoffgehalt von weniger als 1000 ppmv auf. Ferner umfasst die Erfindung polykristallines Siliciumgranulat mit einem Stickstoffanteil von weniger als 2 ppba.
