複数の種類の気体が混合した混合ガスを内部に導入し、水平方向に沿って流通させる吸着槽2と、該吸着槽2に収容され、該吸着槽2に混合ガスが吸着圧にて導入された場合に前記混合ガス中の一部の気体を吸着成分として吸着し、且つ前記吸着槽2内が前記吸着圧より低い脱着圧に減圧された場合に、吸着した前記吸着成分を脱着する吸着剤層8とを備える。

Description

気体濃縮装置
 本開示は、複数の種類の気体が混合した混合ガスから、吸着剤への吸着度の差を利用して特定のガスを吸着成分として取り出す圧力変動吸着式の気体濃縮装置に関する。
 複数の種類の気体が混合した混合ガスから特定の種類の気体を濃縮分離する方法として、従来、圧力変動吸着法(PSA法)が広く用いられている(例えば、下記特許文献1参照)。
 この種の圧力変動吸着法を用いた気体濃縮装置では、内部にゼオライト等の吸着剤を封入した吸着槽を複数個備えており、該吸着槽にボイラからの排ガス等の混合ガスを加圧して流通させる。すると、混合ガスを構成する複数の種類の気体のうち、吸着剤に吸着しやすい特定の気体が吸着成分として吸着剤に吸着される。吸着されなかった気体は非吸着分として前記吸着槽から排出される。
 吸着成分が吸着剤にある程度吸着された段階で、前記吸着槽内の圧力を下げると、吸着成分は吸着剤から脱着される。この一連の工程により、混合ガスから特定の気体を吸着成分として分離し、濃縮することができる。そして、吸着成分を吸着剤に吸着する吸着工程と、吸着した吸着成分を吸着剤から脱着する脱着工程とを複数の吸着槽間で切り替えながら実行することで、連続的に気体の濃縮分離を行うことができるようにしている。

 ところで、近年では、二酸化炭素の排出量削減の観点から酸素燃焼ボイラの開発が進められている。酸素燃焼ボイラでは、排ガスの大部分が水と二酸化炭素で構成されるため、上述の如き気体濃縮装置を用いて容易に二酸化炭素を回収することができる。
 ここで、例えば数十万mN/hという大量の排ガスを発生させる酸素燃焼ボイラの場合、燃焼に伴い生じる排ガスを連続的に処理しようとすれば、それに見合った処理能力を有する気体濃縮装置が必要となる。
 上述の如き気体濃縮装置で単位時間あたりの排ガスの処理量を大きくしようとする場合、吸着槽の容量を大きくし、封入される吸着剤の量を増やすことが最も単純な解決方法である。しかしながら、吸着槽の容量を大きくすれば、これに比例して装置全体の重量が増加してしまうことは避けられず、気体濃縮装置の建設にかかる費用が増大してしまうという問題があった。
 また、吸着工程においては、気体の吸着に伴って熱が発生する。吸着槽を大型化すれば、その分、吸着熱による温度の上昇が起こりやすくなったり、発生した熱が内部に籠もりやすくなるといった懸念がある。
 本開示は、斯かる実情に鑑み、吸着槽の容量を確保しながら、建造にかかる費用を低減すると共に吸着工程における吸着槽内の高温化をも防止し得る気体濃縮装置を提供しようとするものである。
 本開示は、複数の種類の気体が混合した混合ガスを内部に導入し、水平方向に沿って流通させる吸着槽と、該吸着槽に収容され、該吸着槽に混合ガスが吸着圧にて導入された場合に前記混合ガス中の一部の気体を吸着成分として吸着し、且つ前記吸着槽内が前記吸着圧より低い脱着圧に減圧された場合に、吸着した前記吸着成分を脱着する吸着剤層とを備えた圧力変動吸着式の気体濃縮装置にかかるものである。
 本開示の気体濃縮装置においては、複数の前記吸着槽が近接して配置され、前記複数の吸着槽内の前記吸着剤層同士は熱を伝達する伝熱体により互いに連結されていることが好ましい。
 本開示の気体濃縮装置において、前記吸着槽は上下に積み重ねるように配置され、上下に配置された前記吸着槽内の前記吸着剤層同士は、仕切板を介して接していることが好ましい。
 本開示の気体濃縮装置において、前記吸着剤層は、吸着剤を備えた複数の吸着剤ユニットに分割され、前記仕切板は、複数の小仕切板に分割されており、互いに上下に配置された前記吸着槽のうち、上側の吸着槽の上面は、該吸着槽の外部から内部の空間へアクセス可能に構成されていることが好ましい。
 本開示の気体濃縮装置において、上下に配置された前記吸着槽内の前記吸着剤層における前記吸着剤ユニットへの分割位置、及び、前記仕切板における前記小仕切板への分割位置は平面視で一致していることが好ましい。
 本開示の気体濃縮装置によれば、吸着槽の容量を確保しながら、建造にかかる費用を低減すると共に吸着工程における吸着槽内の高温化をも防止し得るという優れた効果を奏し得る。

 以下、本発明の実施の形態を添付図面を参照して説明する。
 図1~図3は本発明の実施形態に係る気体濃縮装置の形態の一例を示すものであり、図4は本発明の実施形態に係る気体濃縮装置を適用した圧力変動吸着法による気体濃縮システムの一例を示している。
 図1に示す如く、本実施例の気体濃縮装置1は、直方体状の形状に構成した吸着槽2を複数、上下に積み重ねて構成した点を最大の特徴としている。ここでは吸着槽2を二段に積み重ねるように配置した場合を例示している。各吸着槽2には、該吸着槽2の一側の側面2aから水平方向に沿って内部に気体を導入する導入流路としての入口管3又は入口管4と、吸着槽2内部の気体を他側の側面2bから水平方向に沿って導出する導出流路としての出口管5又は出口管6とがそれぞれ接続されている。そして、吸着槽2内に導入した気体を、吸着槽2内で水平方向に沿って流通させるようになっている。ここで、水平方向に沿った向きとは、厳密な水平方向のみを指すものではなく、水平方向からやや傾斜した向きをも含む、実質的に水平な向きを指すものとする。
 入口管3,4は、各吸着槽2の外部から該各吸着槽2に向かって延び、一側の側面2aの手前で分岐した形で該一側の側面2aに接続されている。こうして、それぞれ複数の枝管3a又は枝管4aから上下の吸着槽2内に気体を導入するようになっている。また、出口管5,6は、各吸着槽2の他側の側面2bに突出する複数の枝管5a又は枝管6aから気体を導出し、下流側にて合流して更に下流へと延びている。入口管3,4の各枝管3a,4a、及び出口管5,6の各枝管5a,6aには、それぞれ内部を流通する気体の流量を調整可能なバルブ3b,4b,5b,6bが備えられている。尚、ここでは、入口管3,4及び出口管5,6が各々四本の枝管3a,4a,5a,6aに分岐する場合を例示したが、分岐の数や配置は適宜変更可能である。
 各吸着槽2内には、一側の側面2aに対向する位置と、他側の側面2bに対向する位置のそれぞれに分散板7が設置されている。該二枚の分散板7の間に、吸着剤8aが収容されて吸着剤層8を構成している。各分散板7は、多数の穴が開口したパンチングメタルであり、一側の側面2a及び他側の側面2bとは離間して配置される。そして、一側の側面2aから入口管3,4の枝管3a,4aを通して導入された気体は、一側の側面2aと入口側の分散板7の間の空間から、該入口側の分散板7を通して吸着剤層8の設置された空間に抜ける。気体はさらに、出口側の分散板7を通して、該出口側の分散板7と他側の側面2bとの間の空間に抜け、そこから出口管5,6の枝管5a,6aを通して抜き出される。
 吸着剤8aとしては、合成ゼオライトやモレキュラーシーブ等、各種の素材を用いることができる。本実施例では、特に二酸化炭素の吸着に適した金属-有機構造体(MOF)により構成された吸着剤8aを採用している。この吸着剤8aは、大気圧より高圧の吸着圧下で気体中の二酸化炭素を吸着し、また、吸着した二酸化炭素を前記吸着圧より低い大気圧付近の脱着圧下で脱着するようになっている。以下では、「吸着圧」とは吸着剤8aが特定の吸着成分を吸着可能な圧力を指す。また、「脱着圧」とは、前記吸着圧より低い圧力であり、吸着剤8aが吸着した前記吸着成分を脱着可能な圧力を指す。
 本実施例の場合、吸着剤層8は複数の吸着剤ユニット8bの集合体として構成されている。各吸着剤ユニット8bは、気体を通すメッシュ等の素材で構成された直方体状の籠体8c内に吸着剤8aを充填してなる。各吸着槽2内には、図1~図3に示す如く、それぞれ複数の吸着剤ユニット8bが水平方向に配列されて吸着剤層8をなしている。
 言い換えれば、吸着剤層8は、籠体8cによって複数の吸着剤ユニット8bに区切られ、分割されている。そして、上下の吸着槽2内における吸着剤層8の分割位置は、図2、図3に示す如く平面視で一致している。
 上下の吸着槽2同士の間は、水平方向に沿った面を構成する仕切板9によって隔てられている。上下の吸着槽2内の吸着剤層8同士は仕切板9を介して接している。そして、図1~図3に示す如く、該仕切板9を上下に貫通するように、鉛直方向に沿って延びる伝熱体10が備えられている。尚、図1では、図示の都合上、一部の伝熱体10のみを表示している。
 伝熱体10は、例えば金属を中空の棒状に形成し、内部に水や有機溶媒等の熱媒を封入した物体である。伝熱体10は、上部を上側の吸着槽2の吸着剤層8に、下部を下側の吸着槽2の吸着剤層8に、それぞれ埋没させる形で設置される。こうして、伝熱体10は上下の吸着剤層8同士を連結し、一方の吸着槽2の吸着剤層8において発生した熱を、他方の吸着槽2の吸着剤層8へ速やかに伝達するようになっている。尚、伝熱体10は、上述の如き構成に限定されず、他にも種々の形状ないし構造を取ることができる。例えば、内部に熱媒等を封入しない中実の金属で構成することもできるし、形状も棒状以外に例えば板状の物体とすることもできる。
 仕切板9は、熱伝導性の高い金属等の素材で形成されており、複数の小仕切板9aに分割された形で構成されている。仕切板9の小仕切板9aへの分割位置は、図3に示す如く、平面視で該仕切板9の上下に位置する吸着剤層8の分割位置と一致している。すなわち、各小仕切板9aの上下には、吸着剤ユニット8bがそれぞれ一個ずつ配置される形である。また、仕切板9には、各小仕切板9a毎に一本ずつの伝熱体10を備えている。小仕切板9a同士の間は、気密性が保たれるよう、図示しないシール材にて封じられている。
 伝熱体10の数は、該伝熱体10の熱伝導性や、後述する吸着工程において発生が想定される熱の量その他の条件に応じ、これより多くすることも少なくすることもできる。また、ここでは各伝熱体10が平面視で各吸着剤ユニット8bの中央に位置するような配置としているが、この配置も適宜変更することができる。例えば、吸着剤ユニット8b同士の間に各伝熱体10が位置するようにしても良い。
 また、ここでは各吸着剤層8及び仕切板9がそれぞれ12の吸着剤ユニット8b及び小仕切板9aに分割される場合を例示しているが、分割の数や、吸着剤ユニット8bないし小仕切板9aの形状は適宜変更し得る。
 図1に示す如く、上下二段の吸着槽2のうち、上側の吸着槽2の上面は蓋体2cとして上下方向に開閉可能に構成されている。そして、必要に応じて蓋体2cを開き、内部の空間に収容した吸着剤層8や分散板7、仕切板9等にアクセスできるようになっている。尚、蓋体2cは、ここに図示したような上下に開閉する方式に限らず、例えば水平方向にスライドすることで開閉するように構成することも可能である。その他、閉状態における吸着槽2の気密性を確保しつつ必要時には吸着槽2内部に適宜アクセスできるようになっている限り、吸着槽2の開閉構造はどのような構成であっても良い。
 図4は、上述の如き気体濃縮装置1を適用した気体濃縮システムの一例を示している。図示しない燃焼ボイラから排出された排ガスであり、複数の種類の気体を含む混合ガスG1は、気体濃縮装置1にて処理される前に、冷却器11にて冷却される。排ガスである混合ガスG1は一般に数百℃程度の高温であり、一方、吸着剤8a(図1~図3参照)にとって特定の気体の吸着に適した温度は常温~数十℃程度である。このため、ここで予め混合ガスG1の温度を低下させている。また、冷却に伴い混合ガスG1の体積も減少するので、気体濃縮装置1やその他の設備における処理の効率が向上するという利点もある。冷却後、混合ガスG1は圧縮機12で加圧され、さらに脱水塔13に送られて水分を除去される。脱水塔13には、シリカゲル等の脱水剤が充填されており、混合ガスG1を該脱水剤に通すことで水分を吸着し、除去するようになっている。
 ここで、混合ガスG1が石炭焚ボイラ等からの排ガスである場合、図示は省略するが、冷却器11や圧縮機12、脱水塔13等の前後に、気液分離器、脱硫装置、脱硝装置、水銀除去装置といった各種の設備が適宜設置される。気体濃縮装置1を含む機器類の腐食や性能の劣化を防止すると共に、最終的に分離される二酸化炭素の純度を高めるためである。
 水分を除去された混合ガスG1は、次に気体濃縮装置1の吸着槽2に送られる。この際、混合ガスG1の流路14は、上側の吸着槽2の入口管3と、下側の吸着槽2の入口管4とに分岐する。上下の入口管3,4への分岐点には流路切替器としての三方弁15が備えられている。三方弁15により、混合ガスG1を導入する先を上側の吸着槽2に通じる入口管3と、下側の吸着槽2に通じる入口管4との間で切り替えられるようになっている。
 また、上側の吸着槽2の出口管5と、下側の吸着槽2の出口管6は、両吸着槽2の下流においてそれぞれ流路16,17及び流路18,19に分岐する。出口管5から分岐した流路16は、出口管6から分岐した流路18と合流して流路20へと続いている。流路16,18から流路20への合流点には流路切替器としての三方弁21が備えられている。また、出口管5から分岐した流路17は、出口管6から分岐した流路19と合流して流路22へと続いている。流路17,19から流路22への合流点には流路切替器としての三方弁23が備えられている。
 流路20からは、後述するように混合ガスG1から選択的に取り出された吸着成分G2としての二酸化炭素が排出され、図示しない圧縮設備や貯留設備等に送られる。
 一方、流路22からは、後述するように混合ガスG1から吸着成分G2を取り出した後の非吸着分G3が排出される。この非吸着分G3は、加熱器24にて加熱された後、脱水塔13に送られる。非吸着分G3は、該脱水塔13中の脱水剤の再生に利用され、水蒸気と共に大気中に放散される。すなわち、脱水塔13に充填された前記脱水剤はシリカゲル等であり、吸着した水分を加熱によって放出し、脱水剤としての機能を回復させることができる。ここで、加熱器24は、例えば非吸着分G3を電気的に加熱するような装置であっても良い。あるいは、加熱器24は、混合ガスG1の処理経路において混合ガスG1の冷却を要する何れかの部分に備えられ、混合ガスG1を冷却しつつ非吸着分G3を加温する熱交換器として構成しても良い。
 また、流路22には濃度センサ25が備えられており、流路22から排出される非吸着分G3のうち、吸着成分G2に相当する成分の濃度を検出するようになっている。吸着槽2においては、上述の如く特定の成分(ここでは二酸化炭素)を吸着成分G2として吸着する。この際、混合ガスG1中に含まれる吸着成分G2を必ずしも全て除去できるわけではなく、一部は吸着されないまま非吸着分G3の一部として排出される。また、吸着剤層8における吸着成分G2の吸着量にも限界がある。よって、吸着量がある程度増加してくると、吸着成分G2として吸着されるべき二酸化炭素が非吸着分G3に混じる割合も増加する。濃度センサ25では、そうした吸着成分G2相当成分の濃度を検出し、監視するようになっている。
 次に、上記した本実施例の作動を説明する。
 排ガスである混合ガスG1は、冷却器11で冷却され、圧縮機12で加圧され、脱水塔13で水分を除去された後、気体濃縮装置1に送られる(図4参照)。このとき、加圧された混合ガスG1は、上下二段に設置された吸着槽2のうち一方に導入される。三方弁15の操作により、上側の吸着槽2に通じる導入流路である入口管3を開放し、下側の吸着槽2に通じる入口管4を閉塞する。混合ガスG1は流路14から入口管3を介して上側の吸着槽2に流入する。
 加圧された混合ガスG1の圧力は、吸着槽2内に充填した吸着剤8a(図1参照)が吸着成分G2である二酸化炭素を吸着可能な吸着圧に設定されている。したがって、上側の吸着槽2では、混合ガスG1が流入することにより、該混合ガスG1中の二酸化炭素を吸着成分G2として吸着剤層8に吸着する吸着工程が行われる。そして、上側の吸着槽2に接続された出口管5からは、混合ガスG1から二酸化炭素を吸着した残りの非吸着分G3が排出される。
 この際、吸着槽2の下流に備えた三方弁21,23のうち、三方弁21は、上側の吸着槽2に通じる流路16と下流の流路20の間を閉塞する。一方、三方弁23は、上側の吸着槽2に通じる流路17と下流の流路22との間を開放し、下側の吸着槽2に通じる流路19と下流の流路22との間を閉塞する。こうすると、上側の吸着槽2の出口管5から流出する非吸着分G3は、流路17から流路22へ排出される。
 この間、流路22に備えた濃度センサ25では、非吸着分G3中の二酸化炭素の濃度を監視している。上側の吸着槽2内の吸着剤層8における二酸化炭素の吸着量が増加し、吸着剤層8に吸着可能な最大量に近づいていくと、これに伴い非吸着分G3中の二酸化炭素の分圧が上昇する。そこで、濃度センサ25にて検出される二酸化炭素分圧がある程度増加した段階で三方弁15,21,23を切り替える。すなわち、上述の工程では上側の吸着槽2で吸着工程を実行していたが、次は下側の吸着槽2にて吸着工程を実行し、上側の吸着槽2では脱着工程を行うようにする。
 三方弁15は、流路14と入口管3の間を閉塞し、流路14と入口管4の間を開放するをように切り替える。また、三方弁21は、流路16と流路20の間を開放し、流路18と流路20の間を閉塞するように切り替える。三方弁23は、流路17と流路22の間を閉塞し、流路19と流路22の間を開放するように切り替える。
 こうすると、流路14から吸着圧にて供給される混合ガスG1は下側の入口管4から下側の吸着槽2に流入し、ここで吸着剤層8に吸着成分G2としての二酸化炭素を吸着する吸着工程が実行される。残りの非吸着分G3は下側の出口管6から流路19を介して流路22に排出される。一方、上側の吸着槽2では、出口管5から流路16を介して流路20に至る経路が開放されるので、内部の圧力が大気圧付近の脱着圧まで下降する。そして、吸着剤層8に吸着された吸着成分G2としての二酸化炭素が脱着する脱着工程が実行される。脱着した二酸化炭素は、出口管5から流路16を介して流路20に排出され、後段の図示しない圧縮設備や貯留設備に送られる。
 下側の吸着槽2にて吸着工程が実行されている間も、濃度センサ25では非吸着分G3内の二酸化炭素濃度を監視している。濃度がある程度上昇したら、下側の吸着槽2の吸着剤層8における二酸化炭素の吸着量が最大値に近づいてきたと判断し、再度三方弁15,21,23の切替を行う。上側の吸着槽2では、先行する上述の脱着工程によって吸着剤層8から二酸化炭素が脱着されている。したがって、ここに流路14から入口管3を介して加圧された混合ガスG1を導入すれば、再度吸着工程を実行することができる。非吸着分G3は出口管5から流路17を介して流路22へ排出される。下側の吸着槽2では、出口管6から流路18を介して流路20に至る経路が開放されて圧力が脱着圧まで下降する。そして、先行する吸着工程にて吸着した吸着成分G2としての二酸化炭素が脱着されて流路20に排出される。このように、本実施例の気体濃縮装置1では、上下二段に積み重ねた吸着槽2の間で脱着工程と吸着工程とを交互に繰り返すことにより、混合ガスG1から連続的に吸着成分G2としての二酸化炭素を分離することができる。
 こうした圧力変動吸着法による気体濃縮の工程自体は、従来の気体濃縮装置と同様であるが、本実施例の気体濃縮装置1の場合、吸着槽2内における気体の流れを、鉛直方向ではなく水平方向に沿った向きに設定している。これにより、吸着槽2について大きな容量を確保しつつ、建造にかかる費用の高騰を抑えている。
 すなわち、一般に、圧力変動吸着法の吸着工程において吸着剤層に吸着成分を効率良く吸着させるためには、混合ガスが前記吸着剤層内を流通する距離をある程度長く取る必要がある。この際、従来の如き塔型の吸着槽に対し下方から混合ガスを供給して上方から抜き出す方式では、気体の流通する距離を取るために吸着槽に高さを確保しなくてはならない。したがって、前記吸着槽から下向きにかかる単位面積あたりの重量が、吸着槽の体積に対して大きくなる。このため、吸着槽を大型化しようとすれば基礎にかかる建設費が著しく増大してしまう。
 一方、本実施例の如く、吸着剤層8に対し水平方向に沿って気体を流通させる構成とすれば、吸着のための距離は水平方向に沿って確保すれば良い。したがって、吸着槽2の高さを抑え、単位面積あたりの重量を軽減して基礎の設置にかかる費用を大幅に節減することが可能である。
 また、本実施例の気体濃縮装置1では、吸着槽2内における気体の流れの均一化や、伝熱体10の設置等により、吸着槽2の大型化に伴う熱の問題にも対応するようにしている。
 上述の通り、吸着工程においては、気体が吸着剤層8へ吸着される際に熱が発生する。この熱は、吸着剤層8全体において満遍なく発生するとは限らない。吸着剤層8における吸着剤8a(図1~図3参照)の充填の状態や、気体の流れの状態等により、熱の発生には偏りが生じ、吸着剤層8内の特定の部分において局所的に多量の熱が発生する場合もある。そして、こうした発熱の偏りは、吸着剤層8の体積が大きければ大きいほど生じやすい。また、吸着剤層8の体積や、該吸着剤層8に流れ込む気体の量が大きければ、生じる熱の総量もそれだけ多く、発熱の偏りによる影響も大きくなり得る。
 そこで、本実施例の気体濃縮装置1の場合、分散板7や、複数に分岐した枝管3a,4a,5a,6aといった構成により、吸着槽2を流通する混合ガスG1の流れがある程度均一化されるようになっている(図1、図2参照)。また、各枝管3a,4a,5a,6aには各々バルブ3b,4b,5b,6bが備えられている。よって、該各バルブ3b,4b,5b,6bの開度を微調整することにより、枝管3a,4a,5a,6aを流通する気体の流量を操作し、吸着槽2内における気体の流れを是正することも可能である。
 さらに、上下の吸着槽2内に充填した吸着剤層8同士の間は、上述の如く伝熱体10により連結されている(図1~図3参照)。この伝熱体10は、一方の吸着槽2の吸着剤層8にて発生した熱を、他方の吸着槽2の吸着剤層8へ速やかに伝達することができるようになっている。したがって、仮に吸着工程にある一方の吸着槽2にて吸着熱が発生し、これにより吸着剤層8内で局所的に温度が上昇し始めるようなことがあっても、その熱は伝熱体10を介して脱着工程にある他方の吸着槽2側へ速やかに逃がすことができる。こうして、吸着剤8aの一部が高温に曝されるような事態は未然に防止される。しかも、吸着剤8aに吸着された吸着成分G2は、温度が高い方が脱着しやすい。このため、吸着工程にある一方の吸着槽2から回収した熱により、他方の吸着槽2における脱着工程が効率よく進行するという利点もある。
 また、熱の移動は、上下の吸着剤層8同士の間を隔てる仕切板9を介しても行われる。ここで、本実施例の気体濃縮装置1では、吸着槽2同士を積み重ねた構成により、仕切板9を介した接触面積を大きく確保するようにしている。二基の吸着槽同士を仕切板を介して接するように配置することは、例えば前記二基の吸着槽を左右に並べることによっても可能である。しかしながら、こうした配置で前記吸着槽同士の接触面積を大きく取ろうとすれば、結局、前記吸着槽の高さを高く取らざるを得ない。そのような形状で吸着槽を大型化しようとすれば、基礎にかかる工費の高騰が避けられない。その点、本実施例の如き吸着槽2の配置であれば、気体濃縮装置1全体の高さを低く保ちながら吸着槽2同士を大きい面積にて接触させることができる。
 また、本実施例の如く吸着槽2同士を仕切板9を介して接するように配置した構成では、吸着槽2の構成材としての仕切板9を二基の吸着槽2の間で共有するので、該吸着槽2の製造にかかる材料費を節減することにもなる。
 さらに、本実施例の気体濃縮装置1の保守作業について説明する。一般に、圧力変動吸着式の気体濃縮装置に用いる吸着剤は、吸着と脱着を繰り返す間に徐々に吸着能力が低下していくため、およそ数年毎に交換する必要がある。従来、こうした吸着剤の交換作業は、円筒形の吸着槽内に人が立ち入って手作業により行っていた。しかしながら、吸着槽の容量が大きく、多量の吸着剤が充填されている場合は、こうした人力による交換は困難であり、時間や費用もかかってしまう。
 本実施例の気体濃縮装置1の場合、上述の如く上側の吸着槽2の上面に蓋体2cを備えている(図1参照)。この蓋体2cを開放することで、上方から内部の吸着剤層8等にアクセスすることができる。そして、吸着剤層8は、籠体8c内に吸着剤8aを収容した吸着剤ユニット8bの集合として構成されている。したがって、例えば上方からクレーンを用いて吸着剤ユニット8bを吊り下げることで、人力によらずに吸着剤ユニット8bの交換作業を実施することができる。
 吸着槽2同士を上下に積み重ねた配置は、この交換作業においても有利である。仮に、吸着槽同士を左右に隣り合う配置とした場合、仕切板は鉛直方向に沿った面をなすように配置される。また、吸着槽内の吸着剤層同士を連結する伝熱体は、該仕切板を貫通するように水平方向に沿って備えられることになる。このため、吸着剤ユニットを鉛直方向に動かそうとすると、伝熱体が妨げとなってしまう。一方、本実施例の如く、二基の吸着槽2同士を上下に配置すれば、伝熱体10は図1、図3に示す如く縦方向に沿って配置されることになる。したがって、吸着槽2の上方から吸着剤ユニット8bを吊り下げるようにして交換作業を行う場合に、伝熱体10が吸着剤ユニット8bの動作を妨げるようなことはない。よって、例えば以下の如き手順をスムーズに実行することができる。1)上側の吸着剤ユニット8bを鉛直方向に吊り上げて吸着槽2外に移す。2)その下に位置していた小仕切板9aを伝熱体10ごと鉛直方向に吊り上げて取り除く。3)その下に位置していた吸着剤ユニット8bを移動させる。
 また、上下に積み重なった吸着槽2内において、上下の吸着剤層8の分割位置、及び仕切板9の分割位置は平面視で一致している。よって、例えば、上側の吸着剤ユニット8bを取り出した後、その下に位置する小仕切板9aや吸着剤ユニット8bを取り出そうとする際に、別の吸着剤ユニット8bが妨げになるようなこともない。あるいは、上下二個の吸着剤ユニット8b、及びその間に配置された小仕切板9aをまとめて吊り上げることも可能である。
 以上のように、上記本実施例においては、混合ガスG1を内部に導入し、水平方向に沿って流通させる吸着槽2と、該吸着槽2に収容され、該吸着槽2に混合ガスG1が吸着圧にて導入された場合に前記混合ガスG1中の一部の気体を吸着成分G2として吸着し、且つ前記吸着槽2内が前記吸着圧より低い脱着圧に減圧された場合に、吸着した前記吸着成分G2を脱着する吸着剤層8とを備えている。こうすることで、圧力変動吸着式の気体濃縮装置1を設置するにあたり、吸着剤層8における気体の流通する距離を水平方向に沿って確保することができる。また、吸着槽2の高さを抑えて基礎にかかる工費を節減することができる。
 また、本実施例においては、複数の前記吸着槽2が近接して配置され、前記複数の吸着槽2内の前記吸着剤層8同士は熱を伝達する伝熱体10により互いに連結されている。こうすることで、吸着工程にある一方の吸着槽2において発生した吸着熱を、伝熱体10を介して脱着工程にある他方の吸着槽2に逃がすことができ、吸着工程における吸着剤層8の高温化を回避することができる。また、一方の吸着槽2にて発生する吸着熱を、他方の吸着槽2において脱着の進行に利用することもできる。
 また、本実施例において、前記吸着槽2は上下に積み重ねるように配置され、上下に配置された前記吸着槽2内の前記吸着剤層8同士は、仕切板9を介して接している。こうすることで、吸着工程にある一方の吸着槽2において発生した吸着熱を、仕切板9を介して脱着工程にある他方の吸着槽2に逃がすことができると共に、吸着槽2の製造にかかる材料費を節減することができる。
 また、本実施例において、前記吸着剤層8は、吸着剤8aを備えた複数の吸着剤ユニット8bに分割され、前記仕切板9は、複数の小仕切板9aに分割されており、互いに上下に配置された前記吸着槽2のうち、上側の吸着槽2の上面は、該吸着槽2の外部から内部の空間へアクセス可能に構成されている。こうすることで、吸着剤8aの交換作業等をクレーン等を用いて実行することができる。
 また、本実施例において、上下に配置された前記吸着槽2内の前記吸着剤層8における前記吸着剤ユニット8bへの分割位置、及び、前記仕切板9における前記小仕切板9aへの分割位置は平面視で一致している。こうすることで、クレーン等を用いた吸着剤8aの交換作業等を一層簡便に実行することができる。
 したがって、上記本実施例によれば、吸着槽の容量を確保しながら、建造にかかる費用を低減すると共に吸着工程における吸着槽内の高温化をも防止し得る。
 尚、本開示の気体濃縮装置は、上述の実施例にのみ限定されるものではない。例えば、酸素燃焼ボイラを含む石炭焚ボイラの他、種々のボイラの排ガスからの気体の分離に適用し得る。また、排ガスからの二酸化炭素の分離に限らず、種々の混合ガスからの気体の取り出しにも適用し得る。その他、本開示の要旨を逸脱しない範囲内において種々変更を加え得ることは勿論である。

Claims (8)

  1.  複数の種類の気体が混合した混合ガスを内部に導入し、水平方向に沿って流通させる吸着槽と、
     該吸着槽に収容され、該吸着槽に混合ガスが吸着圧にて導入された場合に前記混合ガス中の一部の気体を吸着成分として吸着し、且つ前記吸着槽内が前記吸着圧より低い脱着圧に減圧された場合に、吸着した前記吸着成分を脱着する吸着剤層と
     を備えた圧力変動吸着式の気体濃縮装置。
  2.  複数の前記吸着槽が近接して配置され、前記複数の吸着槽内の前記吸着剤層同士は熱を伝達する伝熱体により互いに連結されている、請求項1に記載の気体濃縮装置。
  3.  前記吸着槽は上下に積み重ねるように配置され、上下に配置された前記吸着槽内の前記吸着剤層同士は、仕切板を介して接している、請求項2に記載の気体濃縮装置。
  4.  前記吸着剤層は、吸着剤を備えた複数の吸着剤ユニットに分割され、
     前記仕切板は、複数の小仕切板に分割されており、
     互いに上下に配置された前記吸着槽のうち、上側の吸着槽の上面は、該吸着槽の外部から内部の空間へアクセス可能に構成されている、請求項3に記載の気体濃縮装置。
  5.  上下に配置された前記吸着槽内の前記吸着剤層における前記吸着剤ユニットへの分割位置、及び、前記仕切板における前記小仕切板への分割位置は平面視で一致している、請求項4に記載の気体濃縮装置。
  6.  前記吸着槽は上下に積み重ねるように配置され、上下に配置された前記吸着槽内の前記吸着剤層同士は、仕切板を介して接している、請求項1に記載の気体濃縮装置。
  7.  前記吸着剤層は、吸着剤を備えた複数の吸着剤ユニットに分割され、
     前記仕切板は、複数の小仕切板に分割されており、
     互いに上下に配置された前記吸着槽のうち、上側の吸着槽の上面は、該吸着槽の外部から内部の空間へアクセス可能に構成されている、請求項6に記載の気体濃縮装置。
  8.  上下に配置された前記吸着槽内の前記吸着剤層における前記吸着剤ユニットへの分割位置、及び、前記仕切板における前記小仕切板への分割位置は平面視で一致している、請求項7に記載の気体濃縮装置。
