 本発明は、超臨界流体を用いて試料成分の分離又は抽出を行なうための超臨界流体装置や、少なくとも1つのカラムに原料を含む液を流すことによって反応させて所定の化合物を合成するフロー合成を行なうためのフロー合成装置などを含む流体処理装置と、そのような流体処理装置における処理を経た液体を処理液として回収するための処理液回収方法に関するものである。
 例えば、超臨界流体クロマトグラフ(SFC:Super-Critical Fluid Chromatography)や超臨界流体抽出装置(SFE:Super-Critical Fluid Extraction)では、二酸化炭素とモディファイアの混合流体を移動相として分析流路中で送液する。分析流路上には分析流路内の圧力を調節する背圧弁が設けられており、背圧弁によって分析流路内の圧力を10MPa(メガパスカル)以上にする。分析流路内では、移動相中の二酸化炭素が超臨界流体又は液体状態となって流れる。背圧弁の後段側では、通常、流路内の圧力が大気圧となっているため、背圧弁を通過した二酸化炭素は大気圧に減圧されて気化する。

 また、原料を段階的にカラムに流していきながら反応させて医薬品等の有用分子を生成するフロー合成の分野においても、生成物を含む液中に含まれる気相を除去して液相のみを回収するという処理が行われる場合がある(特許文献3参照。)。このような場合にも、フロー合成による処理の流れの中で流体から気相を容易に除去することができるような構成が臨ましい。
 そこで本発明は、超臨界流体を用いた分析・抽出やフロー合成などの分野において、所定の処理を経た気相と液相を含む流体から気相を除去して容易に液相を回収することができるようにすることを目的とするものである。
 本発明に係る流体処理装置は、流体を流路中で流しながら試料に対する処理を行なう流体処理部であって、当該流体処理部を経た流体中に気相と液相が含まれる流体処理部と、前記流体処理部の下流に接続され、気体を通過させ液体を通過させない材質により構成された気液分離管を有し、前記気液分離管を流れる流体の気相を前記気液分離管の壁面を介して前記気液分離管の外部へ排出することにより液相を気相と分離する気液分離部と、前記気液分離部よりも下流側に設けられ、前記気液分離部において前記気相と分離された液相を回収する液相回収部と、を備えている。
 本発明に係る流体処理装置は、超臨界流体を用いて試料成分の分離又は抽出を行なうための超臨界流体装置とすることができる。その場合、前記流体処理部は、二酸化炭素とモディファイアの混合流体が移動相として送液される移動相送液流路と、前記移動相送液流路内において前記移動相を超臨界状態に維持するように、前記移動相送液流路内の圧力を調節する背圧弁と、を備えている。
 本発明に係る流体処理装置は、少なくとも1つのカラムに原料を含む液を流すことによって反応させて所定の化合物を合成するフロー合成を行なうためのフロー合成装置とすることもできる。
 前記気液分離部は、前記気液分離管内の圧力を大気圧よりも高い圧力に維持する加圧部を備えていることが好ましい。そうすれば、気液分離管を流れる流体の気相をより効率的に気液分離管の外部へ排出することができる。
 前記加圧部を実現する構成として、前記気液分離管の下流端又はそれよりも下流側に、前記気液分離管の内径よりも小さい内径を有する流路区間を設けることが挙げられる。かかる構成にすることで、気液分離部の構造が簡易なものとなり、コストの低減も図ることができる。
 また、前記加圧部を実現する他の構成として、前記気液分離管よりも下流側に、前記気液分離管内の圧力を大気圧よりも高い所定の圧力に調節する圧力調節弁を設けることが挙げられる。気液分離管内を流れる流体の気相を気液分離管から排出するために必要な圧力が圧力調節弁によって確実に得ることができるので、気液分離部における気液分離をより確実に実現することができる。
 また、前記気液分離部は、前記気液分離管の周囲の圧力を前記気液分離管内の圧力よりも低い圧力に減圧する減圧機構を備えていてもよい。この減圧機構は、前記加圧部に代えて、又は前記加圧部とともに設けられていてもよい。気液分離管内の圧力を高めるだけでなく、気液分離管の周囲の圧力を減圧することによっても、気液分離管内を流れる流体の気相をより気液分離管から排出することができる。
 前記気液分離管の材質の一例として、ポリテトラフルオロエチレンが挙げられる。
 本発明に係る処理液回収方法は、流体を流路中で流しながら試料に対する処理を行なう流体処理部を経た気相と液相を含む流体を、気体を通過させ液体を通過させない材質により構成された気液分離管に導入し、当該気液分離管を流れる流体に含まれる気相を前記気液分離管の壁面を介して前記気液分離管の外部へ排出することにより液相を気相と分離し、前記気液分離管を経て気相と分離された液相を処理液として回収するものである。
 本発明に係る流体処理装置は、流体を流路中で流しながら試料に対する処理を行なう流体処理部の下流に、気体を通過させ液体を通過させない材質により構成された気液分離管を有し、気液分離管を流れる流体の気相を当該気液分離管の壁面を介して当該気液分離管の外部へ排出することにより液相と分離する気液分離部が設けられているので、流体処理部を経た流体中からの気相の除去が容易になされる。これにより、流体処理部を経た流体中の液相の回収を容易かつ高効率に行なうことができる。さらに、従来のような気液分離器が不要であるため、構成が簡易になり、かつ液相を配管出口から飛散させることがないため、従来の気液分離器のように、飛散した液相が気液分離器内に残存するといったことがなく、分析ごとに洗浄しなければならないという問題も生じない。
 本発明に係る処理液回収方法は、流体処理部を経た流体を流路中で流しながら気相を除去し、気相と分離された液相を処理液として回収するので、流体処理部を経た流体中の液相の回収を容易かつ高効率に行なうことができる。
液体処理装置の1つである超臨界流体クロマトグラフの一実施例を概略的に示す流路構成図である。 気液分離部の構成の一例を概略的に示す構成図である。 気液分離部の構成の他の例を概略的に示す構成図である。 気液分離部の構成のさらに他の例を概略的に示す構成図である。 液体処理装置の他の実施例を概略的に示す構成図である。
 以下、本発明に係る流体処理装置の実施例について、図面を用いて説明する。
 流体処理装置の1つである超臨界流体装置の一実施例を図1に示す。
 この実施例の超臨界流体装置は、流体を流路中で流しながら成分の分析処理を行なう流体処理部1、気液分離部24及び液相回収部27を備えている。流体処理部1は、移動相送液流路2、試料注入部14、分析カラム16、検出器20及び背圧弁22を備えている。試料注入部14、分析カラム16及び検出器20は、移動相送液流路2上において上流側からその順に設けられている。背圧弁22は移動相送液流路2の下流端に接続されている。
 気液分離部24は背圧弁22の下流に設けられ、さらにその気液分離部24の下流に液相回収部27が設けられている。液相回収部27は、気液分離部24の下流に接続された流路切替バルブ28と、その流路切替バルブ28の各ポートに接続された複数の回収容器30a~30dを備えている。なお、この実施例では、4つの回収容器30a~30dが示されているが、回収容器の個数はいくらであってもよい。
 移動相送液流路2の上流側には、液体状態の二酸化炭素とモディファイアをそれぞれ送液する送液ポンプ8、10とそれらを混合するミキサ12が設けられている。送液ポンプ8によって二酸化炭素ボンベ4から送液される二酸化炭素と、送液ポンプ10によってモディファイア容器6から送液されるモディファイアはミキサ12で混合されて混合流体となり、移動相として移動相送液流路2を流れる。
 背圧弁22は移動相送液流路2内の圧力が所定の圧力(例えば10MPa)になるように制御され、それによって移動相中の二酸化炭素が超臨界状態で移動相送液流路2を流れる。
 分析対象の試料は試料注入部14によって移動相送液流路2内に導入される。試料注入部14の下流側に分析カラム16が接続されており、試料注入部14を通じて移動相送液流路2内に導入された試料は、分析カラム16において成分ごとに分離される。分析カラム16はカラムオーブン18内に収容されており、分析カラム16の温度が一定温度に維持されている。分析カラム16の下流側に検出器20が接続されており、分析カラム16から溶出する試料成分が順次検出器20に導入されて検出される。
 検出器20のさらに下流側に背圧弁22が接続され、背圧弁22の出口側に気液分離部24が設けられている。気液分離部24は気液分離管26を備えている。気液分離管26は、気体を通過させ液体を通過させない性質をもつ材質によって構成された配管である。気液分離管26の材質としては、例えばPTFE(ポリテトラフルオロエチレン)が挙げられる。気液分離部24は、気液分離管26を利用して、背圧弁22の出口から流出した流体を気相と液相に分離する。
 背圧弁22の出口から流出した流体のうち二酸化炭素は、圧力が急激に低下することによって気化し、気相となる。他方、モディファイアは背圧弁22の前後において液体状態である。分析カラム16から溶出した試料成分は、そのほぼ全量が液相であるモディファイアに溶解している。気液分離部24は、気液分離管26を流れる流体の気相である二酸化炭素を気液分離管26の外部へ排出し、液相のみを後段の流路切替バルブ28に導くように構成されている。
 液相回収部27の流路切替バルブ28は、例えばロータリー式の切替バルブであり、気液分離部24からの流路を回収容器30a~30dのうちいずれか一つの回収容器に接続するようになっている。流路切替バルブ28の流路切替動作は検出器20の検出信号と同期するようになっており、分析カラム16で分離された各試料成分を含む液相が別々の回収容器30a~30dに回収されるようになっている。
 この実施例の超臨界流体装置は、気液分離部24において気相が流路の外部へ排出されるため、各回収容器30a~30dには液相のみが滴下される。したがって、気化した二酸化炭素が回収容器30a~30dに通じる配管の出口から噴出することがなく、液相が飛散することはない。
 気液分離部24における流体の気液分離効率は、気液分離管26内の圧力を高める加圧部を設けることによって向上させることができる。
 加圧部が設けられた気液分離部24の一例を図2に示す。
 図2の構成では、気液分離管26の下流側に継手32を介して加圧部としての細管34が接続されている。細管34は気液分離管26よりも内径が小さくなっており、細管34によって気液分離管26内の圧力が大気圧よりも高い圧力(例えば3MPa)に維持されるようになっている。気液分離管26内の圧力が大気圧よりも高い圧力に維持されることで、気液分離管26を流れる流体中の気相が気液分離管26の外部へ排出されることが促進され、背圧弁22の出口から流出した流体の気液分離の効率が向上する。
 加圧部が設けられた気液分離部24の構成の他の例を図3に示す。
 図3の構成では、気液分離管26の下流側に圧力センサ36が設けられ、さらにその下流側に加圧部としての圧力制御バルブ38が設けられている。圧力制御バルブ38は、例えば背圧弁22と同様の構成を有するものである。圧力制御バルブ38の動作は制御部40によって制御される。制御部40は、圧力センサ36の検出信号に基づき、気液分離管26内の圧力が大気圧よりも高い圧力(例えば3MPa)となるように、圧力制御バルブ38の動作を制御する。制御部40は、図に示されているように、例えば背圧弁22の動作制御を行なう制御部と共通のものでよい。
 図3の構成でも、図2の構成と同様に、気液分離管26を流れる流体中の気相が気液分離管26の外部へ排出されることが促進され、背圧弁22の出口から流出した流体の気液分離の効率が向上する。
 なお、加圧部としては図2及び図3に示されたものに限らず、例えば、気液分離管26の下流端又はそれよりも下流側に、気液分離管26の内径よりも小さい内径を有するオリフィス部が設けられたものなど、気液分離管26内の圧力を大気圧よりも高い圧力に維持することができる構造のものであればいかなるものであってもよい。
 また、気液分離部24における流体の気液分離効率は、上記加圧部に代えて又は上記加圧部とともに、気液分離管26の外部の圧力を減圧する減圧部を設けることによっても向上する。
 減圧部を備えた気液分離部24の構成の一例を図4に示す。
 この例の気液分離部24は、気液分離管26が密閉空間42内に収容されている。密閉空間42内は真空ポンプによって大気圧よりも低い圧力に減圧されている。気液分離管26内の圧力は大気圧又はそれに近い圧力であるため、密閉空間42内が大気圧よりも低い圧力に減圧されることで、気液分離管26内の圧力がその周囲の圧力よりも相対的に高くなる。これにより、気液分離管26を流れる流体中の気相が気液分離管26の外部へ排出されることが促進され、背圧弁22の出口から流出した流体の気液分離の効率が向上する。
 図4の例では、気液分離管26内の圧力が大気圧又はそれに近い圧力となっているが、図2や図3に示したような加圧部を用いて気液分離管26内の圧力を大気圧よりも高い圧力に加圧し、さらに図4に示したような減圧部を用いて気液分離管26の外部の圧力を大気圧よりも低い圧力に減圧してもよい。これにより、気液分離管26を流れる流体中の気相が気液分離管26の外部へ排出されることがさらに促進され、背圧弁22の出口から流出した流体の気液分離の効率がさらに向上する。
 図1を用いて説明した超臨界流体装置は、背圧弁22の出口から流出した流体を気液分離部24で気液分離した後で、液相のみを流路切替バルブ28を介して各回収容器30a~30dに導くようになっているが、本発明はかかる構成に限定されない。背圧弁22の下流側に気液分離部24を介さずに流路切替バルブ28を接続し、流路切替バルブ28と各回収容器30a~30dの間に気液分離部24を設けても、上記実施例と同様の効果を得ることができる。
 上記実施例において説明した超臨界流体装置は、超臨界流体を用いて試料の分離分析を行なう超臨界流体クロマトグラフであるが、本発明に含まれる超臨界流体装置はこれに限定されず、超臨界流体を用いて試料中に含まれる成分の抽出を行なう超臨界流体抽出にも同様に適用することができる。
 また、本発明は、上述のような超臨界流体の分野だけでなく、特許文献3に開示されているようなフロー合成の分野にも同様に適用することができる。この場合、図5に示されているように、特許文献3に開示されているようなフロー合成部46(流体処理部)の最終工程で得られる生成液に含まれるガス成分(気相)を除去するために、気液分離管26を利用した上述の気液分離部24を用いることができる。気液分離部24の構成は図2から図4に示した構成と同様の構成でよい。
 図示は省略されているが、フロー合成部46には合成の原料物質を含む液の流れる流路上に少なくとも1つのカラムが設けられている。カラムには原料物質と反応する触媒等の固相が保持されており、原料物質を含む液をカラムに通過させることで、合成に必要な反応が液の流通過程で行なわれるようになっている。フロー合成部46において生成された物質を含む液は気液分離部24に導入され、気液分離部24において不要なガス成分が除去される。気液分離部24で不用なガス成分が除去された液相が処理液として回収容器48に回収される。

Claims (9)

  1.  流体を流路中で流しながら成分の分析、抽出又は合成の処理を行なう流体処理部であって、当該流体処理部を経た流体中に気相と液相が含まれる流体処理部と、
     前記流体処理部の下流に接続され、気体を通過させ液体を通過させない材質により構成された気液分離管を有し、前記気液分離管を流れる流体の気相を前記気液分離管の壁面を介して前記気液分離管の外部へ排出することにより液相を気相と分離する気液分離部と、
     前記気液分離部よりも下流側に設けられ、前記気液分離部において前記気相と分離された液相を回収する液相回収部と、を備えた流体処理装置。
  2.  前記流体処理部は、
     二酸化炭素とモディファイアの混合流体が移動相として送液される移動相送液流路と、
     前記移動相送液流路内において前記移動相を超臨界状態に維持するように、前記移動相送液流路内の圧力を調節する背圧弁と、を備え、
     前記流体処理装置は超臨界流体を用いて試料成分の分離又は抽出を行なうための超臨界流体装置である、請求項1に記載の流体処理装置。
  3.  前記流体処理部は、少なくとも1つのカラムに原料を含む液を流すことによって反応させて所定の化合物を合成するフロー合成を行なうためのものである請求項1に記載の流体処理装置。
  4.  前記気液分離部は、前記気液分離管内の圧力を大気圧よりも高い圧力に維持する加圧部を備えている請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の流体処理装置。
  5.  前記気液分離管の下流端又はそれよりも下流側に、前記気液分離管の内径よりも小さい内径を有する流路区間が、前記加圧部として設けられている請求項4に記載の流体処理装置。
  6.  前記気液分離管よりも下流側に、前記気液分離管内の圧力を大気圧よりも高い所定の圧力に調節する圧力調節弁が、前記加圧部として設けられている請求項4に記載の流体処理装置。
  7.  前記気液分離部は、前記気液分離管の周囲の圧力を前記気液分離管内の圧力よりも低い圧力に減圧する減圧機構を備えている請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の流体処理装置。
  8.  前記気液分離管はポリテトラフルオロエチレンからなる請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の流体処理装置。
  9.  流体を流路中で流しながら成分の分析、抽出又は合成の処理を行なう流体処理部を経た気相と液相を含む流体を、気体を通過させ液体を通過させない材質により構成された気液分離管に導入し、当該気液分離管を流れる流体に含まれる気相を前記気液分離管の壁面を介して前記気液分離管の外部へ排出することにより液相を気相と分離し、前記気液分離管を経て気相と分離された液相を処理液として回収する処理液回収方法。
