Abstract

Description
본 발명은 이차 전지에 관한 것이다.
이차 전지(rechargeable battery)는 충전이 불가능한 일차 전지와는 달리 충전 및 방전이 가능한 전지이다. 저용량의 이차 전지는 휴대폰이나 노트북 컴퓨터 및 캠코더와 같이 휴대가 가능한 소형 전자기기에 사용되고, 대용량 전지는 하이브리드 자동차 등의 모터 구동용 전원으로 널리 사용되고 있다.
이차 전지는 일례로, 전극 어셈블리가 수용된 케이스와, 케이스를 밀폐하는 캡 어셈블리를 포함하는 것이 일반적이다. 캡 어셈블리의 상측에는 양극 단자와 음극 단자가 형성될 수 있다.
이와 같은 이차 전지의 조립은 전극 어셈블리의 일측에 형성된 무지부를 캡 어셈블리에 결합된 집전부재에 연결할 수 있다. 이와 같이 이차 전지는 다양한 부품들을 결합시켜서 제조될 수 있다.
한편, 이차 전지가 차량에 탑재되는 경우, 차량 운행시 발생되는 진동에 의하여 부품들이 서로 결합된 부분에서 결합이 해제되는 문제점이 있다. 또한, 이차 전지 제조 비용을 감소시키기 위하여 조립되는 부품의 개수를 감소시켜서 제조 공정을 간소화시킬 필요성이 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예는 조립이 용이하게 이루어질 수 있는 이차 전지를 제공하고자 한다.
또한, 본 발명의 일 실시예는 진동에 대한 저항성이 향상될 수 있는 이차 전지를 제공하고자 한다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지는 제1 전극과 제2 전극을 포함하는 전극 어셈블리, 일측이 개구되고, 상기 전극 어셈블리를 수용하는 케이스, 상기 케이스의 개구된 부분을 덮는 캡 플레이트를 포함하는 캡 어셈블리, 상기 캡 어셈블리의 하측에 위치되어 상기 제1 전극과 연결된 제1 집전부재, 절연 소재로 이루어져서 상기 캡 플레이트 및 상기 제1 집전부재를 관통하는 상기 씰링 부재, 및 상기 캡 플레이트 외측에 고정되는 베이스부와, 상기 씰링 부재를 관통하도록 형성되어 상기 제1 집전부재가 상기 캡 어셈블리에 고정되게 하는 연장부가 단일체(single body)로 형성되는 제1 단자를 포함한다.
상기 베이스부는 상기 씰링 부재의 상측면과 대응되는 크기로 이루어지고, 상기 연장부는 상기 베이스부의 하측면으로부터 연장형성되며, 상기 씰링 부재를 관통하여 상기 제1 집전부재가 상기 캡 어셈블리에 고정되게 할 수 있다.
상기 베이스부와 상기 연장부는 동일한 소재로 이루어질 수 있다.

본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지는 일체로 형성된 제1단자를 구비함으로써, 진동에 대한 내구성이 현저히 향상될 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 종래의 이차 전지는 여러 개의 부품을 조합하여 제1 단자를 구성하였으나, 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 이차 전지는 일체로 형성된 제1 단자를 사용함으로써, 제조 공정이 더욱 간소화될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 제조 비용을 절감할 수 있다.

이하, 첨부한 도면을 참고로 하여 본 발명의 실시예들에 대하여 본 발명이 속하는 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자가 용이하게 실시할 수 있도록 상세히 설명한다. 본 발명은 여러 가지 상이한 형태로 구현될 수 있으며 여기에서 설명하는 실시예들에 한정되지 않는다.
본 발명을 명확하게 설명하기 위해서 설명과 관계없는 부분은 생략하였으며, 명세서 전체를 통하여 동일 또는 유사한 구성요소에 대해서는 동일한 참조 부호를 붙이도록 한다.
또한, 여러 실시예들에 있어서, 동일한 구성을 가지는 구성요소에 대해서는 동일한 부호를 사용하여 대표적인 실시예에서만 설명하고, 그 외의 다른 실시예에서는 대표적인 실시예와 다른 구성에 대해서만 설명하기로 한다.
명세서 전체에서, 어떤 부분이 다른 부분과 "연결"되어 있다고 할 때, 이는 "직접적으로 연결"되어 있는 경우뿐만 아니라, 다른 부재를 사이에 두고 "간접적으로 연결"된 것도 포함한다. 또한, 어떤 부분이 어떤 구성요소를 "포함"한다고 할 때, 이는 특별히 반대되는 기재가 없는 한 다른 구성요소를 제외하는 것이 아니라 다른 구성요소를 더 포함할 수 있는 것을 의미한다.
도 1은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지를 도시한 사시도이고, 도 2는, 도 1에 도시된 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지에서 Ⅱ-Ⅱ 라인을 따라 취한 단면도이며, 도 3은, 도 1에 도시된 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지의 분해사시도이다.
도 1 내지 도 3을 참조하여 설명하면, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지(100)는 전극 어셈블리(110)와, 케이스(120)와, 캡 어셈블리(130), 제1 집전부재(161), 씰링 부재(150) 및 제1 단자(140)를 포함한다.
한편, 본 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지(100)는 리튬 이온 이차 전지로서 각형인 것을 예로서 설명한다. 다만 본 발명이 이에 제한되는 것은 아니며, 본 발명은 리튬 폴리머 전지 또는 원통형 전지 등 다양한 형태의 전지에 적용될 수 있다.
전극 어셈블리(110)는 제1 전극(111)과 제2 전극(112)을 포함할 수있다. 제1 전극(111)은 양극, 제2 전극(112)은 음극일 수 있다. 단, 제1 전극(111)이 양극이고, 제2 전극(112)은 음극인 것으로 한정하지는 않으며, 설계에 따라 변경될 수 있다.
케이스(120)는 일측이 개구될 수 있다. 케이스(120)는 전극 어셈블리(110)를 수용한다. 이를 위한 케이스(120)의 형상은 일례로 직육면체로 이루어질 수 있다. 케이스(120)의 상면에는 개방된 개구가 형성된다. 케이스(120)의 소재는 일례로 알루미늄, 스테인리스 스틸 등의 금속으로 이루어질 수 있다.
캡 어셈블리(130)는 케이스(120)의 개구된 부분을 밀폐한다. 이를 위한 캡 어셈블리(130)는 캡 플레이트(131)를 포함한다. 캡 플레이트(131)는 케이스(120)의 개구된 부분을 덮는다. 캡 플레이트(131)의 형상은 일례로 일방향으로 길게 연장된 판 형상으로 이루어질 수 있으나, 이에 한정하지는 않는다.
제1 집전부재(161)는 캡 어셈블리(130)의 하측에 위치되어 제1 전극(111)과 연결된다. 제1 집전부재(161)는 후술할 제1 단자(140)와 연결되므로, 제1 집전부재(161)는 제1 전극(111)과 제1 단자(140)를 전기적으로 연결할 수 있다.
한편, 제1 집전부재(161)와 캡 플레이트(131)의 사이에는 절연 부재(170)가 설치될 수 있다. 절연 부재(170)는 제1 집전부재(161)와 캡 플레이트(131)가 통전되는 것을 방지한다.
씰링 부재(150)는 절연 소재로 이루어져서 캡 플레이트(131) 및 제1 집전부재(161)를 관통한다. 이를 위하여 씰링 부재(150)에서 캡 플레이트(131) 및 제1 집전부재(161)를 관통하는 부분은 중공이 형성된 파이프 형상일 수 있다.
이에 따라, 후술할 제1 단자(140)가 중공을 통하여 관통될 수 있다. 이러한 씰링 부재(150)는 캡 플레이트(131)와 제1 단자(140) 사이의 공간을 씰링(sealing)한다. 뿐만 아니라, 씰링 부재(150)는 제1 단자(140)와 캡 플레이트(131)가 통전되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
제1 단자(140)는 캡 플레이트(131)의 외측에 고정되는 베이스부(141)와 씰링 부재(150)를 관통하는 연장부(142)를 포함한다. 제1 단자(140)는 제1 집전부재(161)에 의해 제1 전극(111)과 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 제1 단자(140)의 베이스부(141)와 연장부(142)는 단일체(single body)로 형성될 수 있다. 즉, 제1 단자(140)는 여러 개의 부품이 조립된 형태가 아닌 단일 부재일 수 있다. 제1 단자(140)의 연장부(142)는 씰링 부재(150)를 관통하도록 형성되어 제1 집전부재(161)가 캡 어셈블리(130)에 고정되게 한다.
제1 단자(140)를 구성하는 베이스부(141)와 연장부(142)의 형상 및 구조에 대하여 이하에서 상세하게 설명한다.
베이스부(141)는 씰링 부재(150)의 상측면과 대응되는 크기로 이루어진다. 베이스부(141)는 씰링 부재(150)의 상측면과 유사한 크기이거나, 씰링 부재(150)보다 상대적으로 작은 크기일 수 있다. 씰링 부재(150)의 상측면의 형상이 직사각형인 경우, 베이스부(141)의 형상도 직사각형의 판형상일 수 있으나, 이에 한정하지는 않는다.
연장부(142)는 씰링 부재(150)를 관통하도록 베이스부(141)의 하측면으로부터 연장형성된다. 연장부(142)는 제1 집전부재(161)가 캡 어셈블리(130)에 고정되게 한다. 이를 위하여 캡 플레이트(131)에는 연장부(142)가 관통되는 관통홀(134)이 형성될 수 있다.
연장부(142)와 베이스부(141)는 도전성 재질로 이루어질 수 있다. 이에 따라, 제1 집전부재(161), 연장부(142) 및 베이스부(141) 모두가 동일한 극으로 대전될 수 있다. 한편, 베이스부(141)와 연장부(142)는 동일한 소재로 이루어질 수 있다.
이러한 연장부(142)의 하단은 제1 집전부재(161)에 연결된다. 씰링 부재(150)에는 연장부(142)가 관통되는 홀이 형성될 수 있다. 그리고, 제1 집전부재(161)에 형성된 관통홀(134)을 통하여 씰링 부재(150)가 관통될 수 있다. 씰링 부재(150)에 형성된 홀의 내경은 연장부(142)의 직경보다는 상대적으로 크거나 유사할 수 있다.
연장부(142)에 의해 제1 집전부재(161)가 캡 어셈블리(130)에 결합되는 방법은 일례로, 사용자가 연장부(142)를 제1 집전부재(161)에 형성된 홀에 관통하게 한 다음, 연장부(142)의 끝부분을 별도의 공구로 가공하는 리벳 체결 방법이 사용될 수 있으나, 이에 한정하지는 않는다.
종래의 이차 전지는 여러 개의 부품을 조합하여 단자를 구성하였으나, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지(100)는 단일체로 형성된 연장부(142)와 베이스부(141)를 포함하는 제1 단자(140)를 구비함으로써, 진동에 대한 내구성이 현저히 향상될 수 있다.
뿐만 아니라, 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 이차 전지(100)는 단일체로 형성된 제1 단자(140)를 사용함으로써, 제조 공정이 더욱 간소화될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 제조 비용을 절감할 수 있다.
도 4는, 도 3에 도시된 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지에서 캡 어셈블리만 발췌하여 Ⅳ-Ⅳ 라인을 따라 절단한 도면이다.
도 4를 참조하면, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지(100)에서 캡 어셈블리(130)는 결합부(133)를 더 포함할 수 있다.
결합부(133)는 캡 플레이트(131)와 일체로 형성된다. 결합부(133)는 캡 플레이트(131)에서 제2 집전부재(162)가 결합되는 하측면으로부터 돌출형성되어 제2 집전부재(162)를 관통한다. 이러한 결합부(133)의 형상은 일례로 원기둥일 수 있다.
제2 집전부재(162)는 전극 어셈블리(110. 도 3 참조)의 제2 전극(112, 도 3 참조)과 연결된다. 제2 집전부재(162)는 결합부(133)에 의해 캡 어셈블리(130)와 연결된다. 그러므로, 제2 전극(112, 도 3 참조)이 음극인 경우, 캡 어셈블리(130)는 음극으로 대전될 수 있다. 이와 다르게, 제2 전극(112, 도 3 참조)이 양극인 경우, 캡 어셈블리(130)는 양극으로 대전될 수 있다.
결합부(133)는 제2 집전부재(162)가 캡 플레이트(131)에 고정될 수 있게 한다. 결합부(133)에 의해 제2 집전부재(162)가 캡 플레이트(131)에 결합되게 하기 위한 방법은 일례로, 사용자가 결합부(133)를 제2 집전부재(162)에 형성된 홀에 관통하게 한 다음, 결합부(133)의 끝부분을 별도의 공구로 리벳 형태로 형성하는 방법이 사용될 수 있으나, 이에 한정하지는 않는다.
이와 같이 결합부(133)는 캡 플레이트(131)와 일체로 형성되어 있으므로, 캡 플레이트(131)를 제조하면서 결합부(133)도 함께 형성될 수 있다. 따라서, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지(100, 도 3 참조)의 제조에서는 결합부와 캡 플레이트를 각각 따로 제조한 다음 서로 결합시키는 구조와 비교하여 제조 공정이 더욱 간소화될 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지(100, 도 3 참조)는 부품간 결합되는 부분이 감소됨으로써, 진동에 대한 저항성이 향상될 수 있다.
한편, 캡 어셈블리(130)는 제2 단자(132)를 더 포함할 수 있다.
제2 단자(132)는 캡 플레이트(131)와 일체로 형성되고, 캡 플레이트(131)의 상면의 일부분으로부터 돌출된다. 이러한 제2 단자(132)는 제2 집전부재(162)와 인접하게 위치될 수 있다.
전술한 바와 같이 캡 어셈블리(130)는 제2 집전부재(162)에 의해 양극 또는 음극으로 대전될 수 있으므로, 캡 어셈블리(130)에 일체로 형성된 제2 단자(132)도 양극 또는 음극으로 대전될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차 전지(100, 도 3 참조)의 제2 단자(132)가 양극으로 대전되고, 제1 단자(140)가 음극으로 대전된 상태에서, 이차 전지(100, 도 3 참조)가 자동차에 탑재되는 경우, 자동차의 양극 연결부에 제2 단자(132)가 전기적으로 연결될 수 있고, 음극 연결부에 제1 단자(140)가 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
이와 같은 제2 단자(132)는 캡 플레이트(131)와 일체로 형성되어 있으므로, 캡 플레이트(131)를 제조하면서 제2 단자(132)도 같이 형성된다.
이상에서 본 발명의 여러 실시예에 대하여 설명하였으나, 지금까지 참조한 도면과 기재된 발명의 상세한 설명은 단지 본 발명의 예시적인 것으로서, 이는 단지 본 발명을 설명하기 위한 목적에서 사용된 것이지 의미 한정이나 특허청구범위에 기재된 본 발명의 범위를 제한하기 위하여 사용된 것은 아니다. 그러므로 본 기술 분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 이로부터 다양한 변형 및 균등한 타 실시예가 가능하다는 점을 이해할 것이다. 따라서, 본 발명의 진정한 기술적 보호 범위는 첨부된 특허청구범위의 기술적 사상에 의해 정해져야 할 것이다.

Claims (6)
- 제1 전극과 제2 전극을 포함하는 전극 어셈블리,일측이 개구되고, 상기 전극 어셈블리를 수용하는 케이스,상기 케이스의 개구된 부분을 덮는 캡 플레이트를 포함하는 캡 어셈블리,상기 캡 어셈블리의 하측에 위치되어 상기 제1 전극과 연결된 제1 집전부재,절연 소재로 이루어져서 상기 캡 플레이트 및 상기 제1 집전부재를 관통하는 씰링 부재, 및상기 캡 플레이트 외측에 고정되는 베이스부와, 상기 씰링 부재를 관통하도록 형성되어 상기 제1 집전부재가 상기 캡 어셈블리에 고정되게 하는 연장부가 단일체(single body)로 형성되는 제1 단자를 포함하는 이차 전지.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 베이스부는 상기 씰링 부재의 상측면과 대응되는 크기로 이루어지고,상기 연장부는 상기 베이스부의 하측면으로부터 연장형성되며, 상기 씰링 부재를 관통하여 상기 제1 집전부재가 상기 캡 어셈블리에 고정되게 하는 이차 전지.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 베이스부와 상기 연장부는 동일한 소재로 이루어진 이차 전지.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 캡 어셈블리는,상기 캡 플레이트와 일체로 형성되고, 상기 캡 플레이트에서 상기 제2 집전부재가 결합되는 하측면으로부터 돌출형성되어 상기 제2 집전부재를 관통하는 결합부를 더 포함하는 이차 전지.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 캡 어셈블리는,상기 캡 플레이트와 일체로 형성되고, 상기 캡 플레이트의 상면의 일부분으로부터 돌출된 제2 단자를 더 포함하는 이차 전지.
- 제4항에 있어서,상기 제2 단자는 상기 제2 집전부재와 인접하게 위치된 이차 전지.
