Description

蓄冷熱交換器 関連出願への相互参照
 本出願は、2016年7月8日に出願された日本特許出願番号2016-136170号に基づくもので、ここにその記載内容が参照により組み入れられる。
 本開示は、車両用空調ユニットに用いられる蓄冷熱交換器に関するものである。
 近年、信号待ち等の車両停車時にエンジンを自動的に停止することで燃費の向上および排ガスの低減を図るアイドルストップ車が増加している。この種の車両に搭載される空調ユニットに関し、蓄冷熱交換器を設置することが提案されている(特許文献1参照)。蓄冷熱交換器とは、冷媒が流れる冷媒流路を有する複数の冷媒管同士の間に形成される複数の空気通過部の一部に、蓄冷材を貯留した複数の蓄冷容器を配置したものである。蓄冷熱交換器は、エンジン運転中に冷凍サイクルを循環する冷媒の冷熱を蓄冷材に蓄えておき、アイドルストップ時に冷媒の循環が停止した際、蓄冷材に蓄えた冷熱を用いて車室内の冷房を行うことを可能にする。

 発明者らの詳細な検討の結果、特許文献1に記載の蓄冷熱交換器には、次の課題が見出された。即ち、特許文献1に記載の蓄冷熱交換器は、複数の冷媒管同士の間に複数の空気通過部が形成された領域の中に、蓄冷容器がほぼ均等間隔で配置されている。そのため、車両の通常運転時に車室内の冷房を行う際、車両用空調ユニットの通風路の通風抵抗が蓄冷容器によって増大する。これにより、通風路の風量が減少すると、車両の通常運転時における冷房性能が悪化するおそれがある。また、車両用空調ユニットの通風路の通風抵抗の増大に応じて、車両用空調ユニットが備える送風機の消費電力が増えると、それによる燃費の悪化が懸念される。
 本開示は、エンジン停止時の冷房能力を維持すると共に、エンジン運転時の冷房能力を高めることの可能な蓄冷熱交換器を提供することを目的とする。
 本開示の1つの観点によれば、蓄冷熱交換器は、車両用空調ユニットに形成された通風路に設置されるものであり、第1ヘッダタンク、第2ヘッダタンク、複数の冷媒管および複数の蓄冷容器を備える。第1ヘッダタンクは、冷媒が流れる流路を有する。第2ヘッダタンクは、冷媒が流れる流路を有し、第1ヘッダタンクに対し離れた位置に設けられる。複数の冷媒管は、第1ヘッダタンクの流路と第2ヘッダタンクの流路とを連通する冷媒流路を有し、互いに間隔をあけて配置される。複数の蓄冷容器は、冷媒管の冷媒流路を流れる冷媒との熱交換により凝固する蓄冷材を貯留し、複数の冷媒管同士の間に形成される複数の空気通過部の一部を塞ぐように設けられる。ここで、複数の空気通過部が形成される領域を、当該領域の中央部分を含む第1領域と、その第1領域以外の第2領域とに分けたとき、複数の蓄冷容器は、第2領域に蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、第1領域に蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 一般に、車両用空調ユニットの通風路を流れる気流は、通風路の内壁の近傍の風速より、通風路の中央部の風速が大きい。そのため、蓄冷熱交換器は、第1領域に蓄冷容器が占める占有率が小さくなるように蓄冷容器を配置することで、その第1領域の通風抵抗を下げることが可能である。したがって、蓄冷熱交換器は、通風路の風量を増加し、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。また、蓄冷熱交換器は、空気通過部の第1領域の通気抵抗を下げることで、車両用空調ユニットが備える送風機の消費電力を低減することができる。
 また、車両のアイドルストップ制御などによりエンジンが停止した場合、蓄冷熱交換器では、第1領域に配置された冷媒管の冷媒流路に存在する液相状態の冷媒が蒸発し、空気通過部を通過する空気が冷却される。これにより、第1領域に配置された冷媒管の冷媒流路の圧力は、第2領域に配置された冷媒管の冷媒流路の圧力よりも高くなり、第1領域に配置された冷媒管の冷媒流路で蒸発した気相冷媒は、第2領域に配置された冷媒管の冷媒流路に移動する。第2領域に配置された冷媒管の冷媒流路に移動した気相冷媒は、圧力上昇と共に凝縮点も上昇しており、蓄冷容器の蓄冷材との熱交換により冷却されて凝縮する。その凝縮した液相冷媒は重力方向下側に位置するヘッダタンクの流路を流れ、再びその流路内で蒸発する。蓄冷熱交換器は、車両のエンジンが停止した状態で上記のように冷媒を循環させ、蓄冷材の冷熱により冷媒を介して空気通過部を通過する空気を冷やすことで、車室内の冷房を行うことが可能である。
 なお、以下の説明では、第1領域に配置された冷媒管の冷媒流路を、第1領域の冷媒流路という。また、第2領域に配置された冷媒管の冷媒流路を、第2領域の冷媒流路という。

 以下、本開示の実施形態について、図を参照しつつ説明する。なお、以下の各実施形態相互において、互いに同一もしくは均等である部分には、同一符号を付して説明を行う。
 (第1実施形態)
 第1実施形態について説明する。本実施形態の蓄冷熱交換器は、車両用空調ユニットを構成する冷凍サイクル装置に用いられるエバポレータである。
 <冷凍サイクル装置1の構成>
 まず、冷凍サイクル装置および車両用空調ユニットの構成について説明する。図1に示すように、冷凍サイクル装置1は、圧縮機2、凝縮器3、膨張弁4、および蓄冷熱交換器としてのエバポレータ10などを備えている。これら構成部品は、配管によって環状に接続され、冷媒の循環路を構成する。
 圧縮機2は、エバポレータ10側から冷媒を吸引し圧縮する。圧縮機2は、車両の走行用のエンジン5から動力が伝達されて駆動する。なお、圧縮機2の動力源として、電動機を使用してもよい。
 圧縮機2から吐出した高圧の気相冷媒は凝縮器3に流入する。凝縮器3に流入した高圧の気相冷媒は、凝縮器3の冷媒流路を流れる際、外気との熱交換により冷却されて凝縮する。なお、凝縮器3は、気相冷媒を外気に放熱させる放熱器とも呼ばれる。
 凝縮器3で凝縮された液相冷媒は、膨張弁4を通過する際に減圧され、霧状の気液二相状態となる。膨張弁4はオリフィスまたはノズルのような固定絞り、或いは、適宜の可変絞り等により構成される。
 減圧後の低圧冷媒は、エバポレータ10に流入する。図2に示すように、エバポレータ10は、車両用空調ユニット6が備える空調ケース7に形成された通風路8に設置されている。第1実施形態の通風路8は、エバポレータ10の上流側正面に対向する部位から、後述する第1ヘッダタンク51と第2ヘッダタンク52とが向き合う方向に対し交差する方向の一方に延びている。その通風路8には送風機9が設置されている。送風機9は例えば遠心ファンであり、通風路8に気流を発生させることが可能である。エバポレータ10が有する冷媒流路を流れる低圧冷媒は、空調ケース7に設けられた送風機9により送風される空気から吸熱して蒸発する。これにより、エバポレータ10は、冷媒の蒸発潜熱により、通風路8を流れる空気を冷却する。その空気は、ヒータコア11により温度調整された後、フェイス吹出口12、フット吹出口13またはデフロスタ吹出口14などから車室内へ吹き出される。エバポレータ10を通過した冷媒は、図示していないアキュムレータを経由して圧縮機2に吸引される。
 なお、圧縮機2の動力源となるエンジン5が停止すると、圧縮機2の駆動が停止し、それに伴って冷凍サイクル装置1の冷媒の流れが停止する。
 <エバポレータ10の構成>
 次に、蓄冷熱交換器としてのエバポレータ10の構成について説明する。
 図3から図5に示すように、エバポレータ10は、複数の冷媒管20、複数の蓄冷容器30、複数のアウターフィン40、および第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54などを備えている。なお、図3では、アウターフィン40の図示を一部省略している。
 図4および図5に記載した矢印100、101は、エバポレータ10の空気通過部に空気が流れる向きを示している。図3では、空気の流れ方向は、紙面奥側から手前側に向かうものとなる。
 図3および図5に示すように、複数の冷媒管20は、互いに所定の間隔をあけて配置されている。複数の冷媒管20は、一端から他端に亘り直線状に延びている。冷媒管20の内部に形成された冷媒流路21も、一端から他端に亘り直線状に延びている。冷媒管20は、アルミニウム等の金属製である。
 エバポレータ10には、複数の冷媒管20同士の間に、複数の隙間が形成されている。この複数の隙間のうち、アウターフィン40が配置される隙間が空気通過部となる。また、複数の隙間のうち、所定の隙間には、アウターフィン40に代えて蓄冷容器30が配置されている。
 図5に示すように、複数の冷媒管20は、空気の流れ方向に沿って上流側と下流側とに重なるように配置されている。冷媒管20は、横断面が扁平形状に形成された多穴管であり、内部に複数の冷媒流路21を有している。その複数の冷媒流路21を冷媒が流れる。
 図3および図4に示すように、複数の冷媒流路21は、複数の冷媒管20の一端と他端にそれぞれ接続された第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54の流路に連通している。第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54は、複数の冷媒管20に冷媒を分配し、もしくは、複数の冷媒管20から流出する冷媒を集合するものである。なお、第1、第2ヘッダタンク51、52は、空気の流れ方向の下流側に配置され、第3、第4ヘッダタンク53、54は、空気の流れ方向の上流側に配置されている。第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54は、アルミニウム等の金属製である。以下の説明では、空気の流れ方向の下流側を、単に、下流側という。また、空気の流れ方向の上流側を、単に、上流側という。
 第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54と複数の冷媒管20の構成の一例について説明する。
 第1ヘッダタンク51と第2ヘッダタンク52とは、互いに所定距離れた位置に平行に配置されている。エバポレータ10が車両に搭載された状態で、第1ヘッダタンク51は第2ヘッダタンク52より重力方向上側に位置するものである。第1ヘッダタンク51と第2ヘッダタンク52との間には、複数の冷媒管20が配列されている。その複数の冷媒管20の冷媒流路21は、一方の側が第1ヘッダタンク51の有する流路に連通し、他方の側が第2ヘッダタンク52の有する流路に連通している。第1ヘッダタンク51と、第2ヘッダタンク52と、それらの間に配置された複数の冷媒管20とは、第1熱交換部501を構成する。
 なお、第1ヘッダタンク51の流路は、その長さ方向のほぼ中央に設けられた仕切板61によって、第1区画511と第2区画512とに区画されている。
 同様に、図4に示すように、第3ヘッダタンク53と第4ヘッダタンク54も、互いに所定距離れて平行に配置されている。第3ヘッダタンク53と第4ヘッダタンク54との間にも、複数の冷媒管20が互いに離間して配列されている。その複数の冷媒管20の冷媒流路21は、一方の側が第3ヘッダタンク53の有する流路に連通し、他方の側が第4ヘッダタンク54の有する流路に連通している。第3ヘッダタンク53と、第4ヘッダタンク54と、それらの間に配置された複数の冷媒管20とは、第2熱交換部502を構成する。
 なお、図示していないが、第1ヘッダタンク51と同様に、第3ヘッダタンク53の流路は、その長さ方向のほぼ中央に設けられた仕切板によって、第3区画と第4区画とに区画されている。第1ヘッダタンク51の第2区画512と第3ヘッダタンク53の第3区画とは、隣接した位置にあり、互いに連通している。
 第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54の流路と複数の冷媒管20の冷媒流路21における冷媒の流れについては後述する。
 図3および図4に示すように、複数の冷媒管20の間に形成された複数の隙間のうち、所定の隙間には、蓄冷容器30が配置されている。蓄冷容器30は、複数の空気通過部の一部を塞ぐように設けられる。
 蓄冷容器30は、扁平な筒状であり、その内側に蓄冷材31を貯留している。蓄冷容器30は、ろう材または接着剤などの熱伝達に優れた接合材により、その蓄冷容器30の両側に配置された冷媒管20に固定されている。これにより、蓄冷容器30は、その両側に配置された冷媒管20に熱的に接続する。
 蓄冷材31は、例えばパラフィンまたは水和物を含むものが用いられており、融点が例えば3~13℃程度に調整されている。そのため、蓄冷材31は、冷媒管20を流れる冷媒と熱交換して凝固し、冷媒の熱を蓄冷することが可能である。
 ここで、図3に示すように、複数の空気通過部が形成される領域を、その領域の中央部分を含む第1領域αと、その第1領域α以外の領域である第2領域βとに分けることとする。その際、第1領域αの面積と、第2領域βの面積とは、同じ面積である。すなわち、第2領域は、第1領域以外であり、且つ、第1領域と同じ面積の領域である。このことは、後述する第2~第13実施形態でも同じである。図3では、第2領域βと第1領域αとの境界の一例を一点鎖線γによって例示的に示している。この境界線は、車両用空調ユニット6における通風路8の形状、その通風路8におけるエバポレータ10の配置、通風路8の通気抵抗の分布状態などにより任意に設定されるものである。すなわち、第1領域αと第2領域βの形は、正方形、長方形、円、その他どのような形でもよい。このことは、後述する第2~第13実施形態でも同じである。
 第1実施形態では、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βの少なくとも一部に配置されおり、第1領域αに配置されていない。すなわち、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率が、第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。なお、図3では、複数の蓄冷容器30は第1領域αに配置されていないが、上述した占有率の条件を満たせば、蓄冷容器30は第1領域αに配置してもよい。
 なお、「第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率」とは、第1領域αの中で蓄冷容器30が占める面積を、第1領域αの面積で除した値をいう。「第2領域βに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率」とは、第2領域βの中で蓄冷容器30が占める面積を、第2領域βの面積で除した値をいう。
 第1実施形態では、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち第1ヘッダタンク51と第2ヘッダタンク52とが向き合う方向に対し交差する方向の両側の部位に配置されている。以下の説明では、第1ヘッダタンク51と第2ヘッダタンク52とが向き合う方向に対し交差する方向を、横方向という。第2領域βの横方向の両側の部位は、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8にエバポレータ10が設置されたとき、通風路8の内壁に近い位置となる部位である。
 なお、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち横方向の両側に限らず、少なくとも片側の一方の部位に配置されていてもよい。その部位は、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8にエバポレータ10が設置されたとき、通風路8の内壁に近く、且つ、風速が比較的小さい位置であることが好ましい。
 複数の冷媒管20の間に形成された複数の隙間のうち、蓄冷容器30が配置されていない複数の隙間は、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8を流れる空気が通過する空気通過部となる。この空気通過部には、複数のアウターフィン40が配置されている。
 アウターフィン40は、冷媒および蓄冷材31と、空気通過部を通過する空気との熱交換を促進する機能を有する。アウターフィン40は、ろう材または接着剤などの熱伝達に優れた接合材により、アウターフィン40の両側に配置された冷媒管20に固定されている。これにより、アウターフィン40は、その両側に配置された冷媒管20に熱的に接続する。アウターフィン40の一例として、薄いアルミニウム等の金属板が波状に曲げられたコルゲートフィンが用いられる。なお、アウターフィン40は、複数のルーバを有するものとしてもよい。
 <車両の通常運転時のエバポレータ10の作動および冷媒の流れ>
 次に、車両の通常運転時のエバポレータ10の作動および冷媒の流れについて説明する。
 上述した冷凍サイクル装置1は、乗員から空調要求として冷房要求があると、エンジン5からのトルク伝達により圧縮機2が駆動する。これにより、冷凍サイクル装置1を冷媒が循環する。
 図6に示すように、エバポレータ10が備える第1ヘッダタンク51の端部には、冷媒入口55が設けられている。冷凍サイクル装置1を循環する冷媒は、第1ヘッダタンク51の冷媒入口55から第1ヘッダタンク51の第1区画511に供給される。そして、矢印102に示すように、冷媒は、第1ヘッダタンク51の第1区画511から、その第1区画511の下に連通する複数の冷媒管20に分配され、その複数の冷媒管20の冷媒流路21を流れる。
 第1ヘッダタンク51の第1区画511の下に連通する複数の冷媒管20の冷媒流路21を流れた冷媒は、第2ヘッダタンク52の流路に流入する。続いて、矢印103に示すように、冷媒は、第2ヘッダタンク52の流路を流れる。そして、矢印104に示すように、冷媒は、第2ヘッダタンク52の流路から、第1ヘッダタンク51の第2区画512の下に連通する複数の冷媒管20に分配され、その複数の冷媒管20の冷媒流路21を流れる。第1ヘッダタンク51の第2区画512の下に連通する複数の冷媒管20の冷媒流路21を流れた冷媒は、第1ヘッダタンク51の第2区画512に流入する。このように、第1熱交換部501には、冷媒をU字状に流す流路が形成されている。
 図示はしていないが、第1ヘッダタンク51の第2区画512に流れた冷媒は、そこから第3ヘッダタンク53の第3区画に流入する。第3ヘッダタンク53の第3区画に流入した冷媒は、そこから第3ヘッダタンク53の第3区画の下に連通する複数の冷媒管20に分配され、その複数の冷媒管20の冷媒流路21を流れて第4ヘッダタンク54に流入する。
 第4ヘッダタンク54に流入した冷媒は、そこから第3ヘッダタンク53の第4区画の下に連通する複数の冷媒管20に分配され、その複数の冷媒管20を流れて第3ヘッダタンク53の第4区画に流入する。このように、第2熱交換部502にも、冷媒をU字状に流す流路が形成されている。
 第3ヘッダタンク53の端部には、冷媒出口となる図示していないジョイントが設けられている。第3ヘッダタンク53の第4区画の冷媒は、その冷媒出口から圧縮機2へ向けて流出する。
 第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54および複数の冷媒管20を冷媒が流れるとき、冷媒管20の冷媒流路21で蒸発した冷媒の蒸発潜熱により、冷媒管20の外壁およびアウターフィン40を介して空気通過部を流れる空気が冷却される。また、その冷媒の蒸発潜熱により、蓄冷容器30に収容された蓄冷材31が冷却される。蓄冷材31は、凝固点よりも温度が低下すると凝固し、冷熱を溜める。
 ここで、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8を流れる気流は、通風路8の内壁の近傍の風速より、通風路8の中央部の風速が大きい。エバポレータ10は、空気通過部の第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が配置されていないか、またはその第1領域αに占める蓄冷容器30の占有率が小さいので、その第1領域αの通風抵抗を下げることが可能である。したがって、エバポレータ10は、通風路8の風量を増加し、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。また、エバポレータ10は、空気通過部の第1領域αの通気抵抗を下げることで、車両用空調ユニット6が備える送風機9の消費電力を低減することができる。
 <車両のアイドルストップ時のエバポレータ10の作動および冷媒の流れ>
 次に、車両のアイドルストップ時のエバポレータ10の作動および冷媒の流れについて説明する。
 車両が一時停止すると、消費エネルギを低減するため、アイドリングストップ制御等によりエンジン5が停止する。これにより、圧縮機2の駆動が停止し、冷凍サイクル装置1の冷媒の流れが停止する。なお、この場合にも、乗員から空調要求として冷房要求があるときには車両用空調ユニット6が備える送風機9が駆動し、エバポレータ10の空気通過部を気流が流れる。そのため、エバポレータ10が備える第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54の温度、および複数の冷媒管20のうち蓄冷容器30から離れた位置にある冷媒管20の温度が上昇し、そこに存在する気液二相状態の冷媒のうちの液相状態の冷媒が蒸発する。このときの冷媒の蒸発潜熱により、空気通過部を通過する空気が冷却される。
 一方、複数の冷媒管20のうち蓄冷容器30に隣接した位置にある冷媒管20は蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷やされるので、その位置にある冷媒管20に存在する液相状態の冷媒はそのまま液相状態を維持する。そのため、第1領域αの冷媒管20の圧力は、第2領域βの両側の冷媒管20の圧力よりも高くなる。したがって、図7の矢印105、106、107に示すように、第1領域αの冷媒管20の冷媒流路21で蒸発した気相冷媒は、第1、第4ヘッダタンク51、54の流路を通り、第2領域βの両側の冷媒管20の冷媒流路21に移動する。なお、冷媒が液相状態から気相状態に変わるときの体積増加率は、蒸発した冷媒が第1領域αの冷媒流路21から第2領域βの両側の冷媒流路21に移動するのに十分な速さが得られるものである。
 第2領域βの両側の冷媒管20の冷媒流路21に移動した気相冷媒は、圧力上昇と共に凝縮点も上昇している。そのため、その気相冷媒は、蓄冷容器30の蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷却されて凝縮する。矢印107に示すように、第2領域βの冷媒流路21で凝縮した液相冷媒は、重力方向下側に位置する第2、第4ヘッダタンク52、54の流路に流入する。そして、矢印108に示すように、その液相冷媒は、第2、第4ヘッダタンク52、54の流路を流れ、冷媒温度が沸点より高くなると再び蒸発する。その蒸発した気相冷媒は、再び、矢印105に示すように、第1領域αの冷媒管20の冷媒流路21を流れる。その際、空気通過部を通過する空気と低温の気相冷媒とが熱交換し、空気通過部を通過する空気が冷却される。このように、エバポレータ10は、車両のエンジン5が停止した状態で、上記のように蓄冷材31の冷熱を利用して冷媒を循環させ、蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷媒を介して空気通過部を通過する空気を冷やすことで、車室内の冷房を行うことが可能である。
 以上説明した第1実施形態のエバポレータ10は、次の作用効果を奏するものである。
 (1)第1実施形態では、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率が、第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 これにより、エバポレータ10は、空気通過部の第1領域αの通気抵抗を下げることが可能である。一般に、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8を流れる気流は、通風路8の内壁の近傍の風速より、通風路8の中央部の風速が大きい。そのため、エバポレータ10は、通風路8の風量が蓄冷容器30により低下することを抑制し、エバポレータ10の空気通過部を通過する風量を従来のものより増加することで、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 また、エバポレータ10は、第1領域αの通気抵抗を下げることで、車両用空調ユニット6が備える送風機9の消費電力を低減することができる。
 さらに、車両のアイドルストップ制御などによりエンジン5が停止した場合でも、エバポレータ10は第1領域αの冷媒流路21と第2領域βの冷媒流路21との間を、蓄冷材31の冷熱を利用して冷媒を循環させることが可能である。したがって、エバポレータ10は、車両のエンジン5が停止したときにも、蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷媒を介して空気通過部を通過する空気を冷やし、車室内の冷房を行うことが可能である。
 (2)第1実施形態では、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち横方向の少なくとも一方の部位に蓄冷容器30が占める占有率が、第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 これによれば、第2領域βのうち横方向の少なくとも一方の部位が、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8の内壁に近い位置に配置される場合、その通風路8の中で風速が小さい箇所に蓄冷容器30が多く配置され、風速が大きい通風路8の中央部に配置される蓄冷容器30が少なくなる。そのため、その通風路8の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器30によって高くなることが抑制される。したがって、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 また、この構成によれば、従来のエバポレータ10が備えている蓄冷容器30の形状を変えることなく、本実施形態の一実施形態である蓄冷容器30の配置に容易に仕様変更を行うことが可能である。
 (3)第1実施形態では、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち横方向の両側の部位に蓄冷容器30が占める占有率が、第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 これによれば、第2領域βのうち横方向の両側の部位が、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8の内壁に近い位置に配置される場合、その通風路8の中で風速が小さい内壁に近くに蓄冷容器30が多く配置され、風速が大きい通風路8の中央部に配置される蓄冷容器30が少なくなる。そのため、その通風路8の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器30によって高くなることが抑制される。したがって、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 (4)第1実施形態では、第1ヘッダタンク51が有する流路は、第1領域αの上側に位置する箇所と、第2領域βの上側に位置する箇所とが連通している。
 これによれば、車両のアイドルストップ制御などによりエンジン5が停止した場合、第1領域αの冷媒流路21で蒸発した冷媒は、第1ヘッダタンク51が有する流路の中で第1領域αの上側に位置する箇所から第2領域βの上側に位置する箇所に移動することが可能である。そのため、エバポレータ10は、車両のエンジン5が停止した状態で、冷媒を循環させることができる。
 (5)第1実施形態では、車両用空調ユニット6にエバポレータ10が設置された状態で、第2領域βのうち蓄冷容器30が占有する占有率が大きい箇所は、通風路8の内壁に近い位置に配置される。
 これによれば、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8の風速が小さい通風路8の内壁近くに蓄冷容器30を多く配置し、通風路8の中央部に配置される蓄冷容器30を少なくすることで、通風路8の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器30によって高くなることが抑制される。そのため、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 (第2実施形態)
 第2実施形態について説明する。第2実施形態のエバポレータ10は、第1実施形態に対して第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54の構成を変更したものであり、その他については第1実施形態と同様であるため、第1実施形態と異なる部分についてのみ説明する。
 図8に示すように、第2実施形態では、第1ヘッダタンク51の流路は、2つの仕切板56、57よって、冷媒入口55側から第1区画511と第2区画512と第3区画513とに区画されている。この第1ヘッダタンク51の流路に設けられた2つの仕切板56、57には、いずれも、板厚方向に通じる貫通孔58、59が設けられている。即ち、仕切板56、57は、第1区画511と第2区画512と第3区画513との間の冷媒の流れの一部を規制するものであり、それらの間の冷媒の流れを遮断するものではない。
 一方、第2ヘッダタンク52の流路は、1つの仕切板60によって、第4区画521と第5区画522とに区画されている。
 図示していないが、第1ヘッダタンク51と同様に、第3ヘッダタンク53の流路は、2つの仕切板によって、第6区画と第7区画と第8区画とに区画されている。この第3ヘッダタンク53の流路に設けられた2つの仕切板にも、板厚方向に通じる貫通孔が設けられている。
 また、第2ヘッダタンク52と同様に、第4ヘッダタンク54の流路は、1つの仕切板によって、第9区画と第10区画とに区画されている。
 第1ヘッダタンク51の第3区画513と第3ヘッダタンク53の第6区画とは、隣接した位置にあり、互いに連通している。
 <車両の通常運転時のエバポレータ10の作動および冷媒の流れ>
 次に、車両の通常運転時のエバポレータ10の作動および冷媒の流れについて説明する。
 図8に示すように、車両の通常運転時では、冷凍サイクル装置1を循環する冷媒は、第1ヘッダタンク51の冷媒入口55から第1区画511に供給される。そして、矢印110に示すように、冷媒は、第1ヘッダタンク51の第1区画511から、その第1区画511の下に位置する複数の冷媒管20を流れる。
 その複数の冷媒管20を流れた冷媒は、第2ヘッダタンク52の第4区画521に流入する。続いて、矢印111に示すように、冷媒は、第2ヘッダタンク52の第4区画521を流れる。そして、矢印112に示すように、冷媒は、第2ヘッダタンク52の第4区画521から、その第4区画521の上に位置し、且つ、第1ヘッダタンク51の第2区画512の下に位置する複数の冷媒管20を流れる。続いて、その複数の冷媒管20を流れた冷媒は、第1ヘッダタンク51の第2区画512に流入する。
 続いて、矢印113に示すように、冷媒は、第1ヘッダタンク51の第2区画512を流れる。そして、矢印114に示すように、冷媒は、第1ヘッダタンク51の第2区画512から、その第2区画512の下に位置し、且つ、第2ヘッダタンク52の第5区画522の上に位置する複数の冷媒管20を流れる。続いて、その複数の冷媒管20を流れた冷媒は、第2ヘッダタンク52の第5区画522に流入する。
 続いて、矢印115に示すように、冷媒は、第2ヘッダタンク52の第5区画522を流れる。そして、矢印116に示すように、冷媒は、第2ヘッダタンク52の第5区画522から、第1ヘッダタンク51の第3区画513の下に位置する複数の冷媒管20を流れる。続いて、その複数の冷媒管20を流れた冷媒は、第1ヘッダタンク51の第3区画513に流入する。
 このように、第1熱交換部501には、冷媒を略W字状に流す流路が形成されている。
 第1ヘッダタンク51の第3区画513に流れた冷媒は、そこから第3ヘッダタンク53の第6区画に流入する。図示していないが、第1熱交換部501と同様に、第2熱交換部502にも、冷媒を略W字状に流す流路が形成されている。第2熱交換部502を略W字状に流れた冷媒は、第3ヘッダタンク53の端部に設けられた冷媒出口から圧縮機2へ向けて流出する。
 第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54および複数の冷媒管20を冷媒が流れるとき、冷媒管20の冷媒流路21で蒸発した冷媒の蒸発潜熱により、冷媒管20の外壁およびアウターフィン40を介して空気通過部を流れる空気が冷却される。また、その冷媒の蒸発潜熱により、蓄冷容器30に収容された蓄冷材31が冷却される。蓄冷材31は、凝固点よりも温度が低下すると凝固し、冷熱を溜める。
 <車両のアイドルストップ時のエバポレータ10の作動および冷媒の流れ>
 次に、車両のアイドルストップ時のエバポレータ10の作動および冷媒の流れについて説明する。
 車両が一時停止すると、消費エネルギを低減するため、アイドリングストップ制御等によりエンジン5が停止する。これにより、圧縮機2の駆動が停止し、冷凍サイクル装置1の冷媒の流れが停止する。なお、この場合にも、乗員から空調要求として冷房要求があるときには車両用空調ユニット6が備える送風機9が駆動し、エバポレータ10の空気通過部を気流が流れる。そのため、エバポレータ10が備える第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54の温度、および複数の冷媒管20のうち蓄冷容器30から離れた位置にある冷媒管20の温度が上昇し、そこに存在する気液二相状態の冷媒のうちの液相状態の冷媒が蒸発する。このときの冷媒の蒸発潜熱により、空気通過部を通過する空気が冷却される。
 一方、複数の冷媒管20のうち蓄冷容器30に隣接した位置にある冷媒管20は蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷やされるので、その位置にある冷媒管20に存在する液相状態の冷媒はそのまま液相状態を維持する。そのため、第1領域αの冷媒流路21の圧力は、第2領域βの両側の冷媒流路21の圧力よりも高くなる。したがって、図9の矢印120、121、122および矢印123、124、125に示すように、第1領域αの冷媒流路21で蒸発した気相冷媒は、第1、第4ヘッダタンク51、54の流路を通り、第2領域βの冷媒流路21に移動する。その際、矢印121に示すように、第1ヘッダタンク51の流路を流れる冷媒は、仕切板56に設けられた貫通孔58を通り、第2区画512から第1区画511に流れる。また、矢印124に示すように、第1ヘッダタンク51の流路を流れる冷媒は、仕切板57に設けられた貫通孔59を通り、第2区画512から第3区画513に流れる。
 第2領域βの両側の冷媒管20の冷媒流路21に移動した気相冷媒は、圧力上昇と共に凝縮点も上昇している。そのため、その気相冷媒は、蓄冷容器30の蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷却されて凝縮する。矢印126、127に示すように、第2領域βの冷媒流路21で凝縮した液相冷媒は、重力方向下側に位置する第2ヘッダタンク52の流路の第4区画521と第5区画522に流入する。そして、その液相冷媒は、第2ヘッダタンク52の流路の第4区画521と第5区画522をそれぞれ流れ、冷媒温度が沸点より高くなると再び蒸発する。その蒸発した気相冷媒は、再び、矢印120、123に示すように、第1領域αの冷媒管20の冷媒流路21を流れる。その際、空気通過部を通過する空気と低温の気相冷媒とが熱交換し、空気通過部を通過する空気が冷却される。このように、エバポレータ10は、車両のエンジン5が停止した状態で、上記のように蓄冷材31の冷熱を利用して冷媒を循環させ、蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷媒を介して空気通過部を通過する空気を冷やすことで、車室内の冷房を行うことが可能である。
 なお、上述した第1熱交換部501の冷媒の循環と同様に、第2熱交換部502の冷媒も循環する。
 以上説明した第2実施形態では、第1、第3ヘッダタンク51、53の流路内には、冷媒の流れを規制する仕切板56、57が設けられている。その仕切板56、57には、板厚方向に通じる貫通孔58、59が設けられている。
 これによれば、第1ヘッダタンク51の流路の中で第1領域αの上側に位置する箇所から第2領域βの上側に位置する箇所に冷媒の移動が可能となる。また、それと同様に、第3ヘッダタンク53の流路の中で第1領域αの上側に位置する箇所から第2領域βの上側に位置する箇所に冷媒の移動が可能となる。そのため、エバポレータ10は、車両のエンジン5が停止した状態で、冷媒を循環させることができる。
 (第3実施形態)
 第3実施形態について説明する。図10に示すように、第3実施形態のエバポレータ10は、第1実施形態に対して蓄冷容器30とアウターフィン40の構成を変更したものである。
 図10では、複数の空気通過部が形成される領域を第2領域βと第1領域αとに分け、その第2領域βと第1領域αとの境界の一例を一点鎖線γによって例示的に示している。この境界線は、車両用空調ユニット6における通風路8の形状、その通風路8におけるエバポレータ10の配置、通風路8の通気抵抗の分布状態などにより任意に設定されるものである。
 第3実施形態では、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち第1ヘッダタンク51と第2ヘッダタンク52とが向き合う方向の両側の部位に配置されている。以下の説明では、第1ヘッダタンク51と第2ヘッダタンク52とが向き合う方向を、縦方向という。すなわち、第3実施形態では、第2領域βのうち縦方向の両側の部位に配置されている蓄冷容器30が占める占有率が、第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率より大きいものとなっている。なお、第2領域βの縦方向の両側の部位は、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8にエバポレータ10が設置されたとき、通風路8の内壁に近い位置となる。
 なお、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち縦方向の両側の部位に配置されることに限らず、縦方向の少なくとも一方の部位に配置されていてもよい。
 複数の冷媒管20の間に形成された複数の隙間のうち、蓄冷容器30が配置されていない複数の隙間は、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8を流れる空気が通過する空気通過部となる。この空気通過部には、複数のアウターフィン40が配置されている。なお、図10においても、アウターフィン40の一部の図示を省略している。
 以上説明した第3実施形態では、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち縦方向の少なくとも一方の部位に蓄冷容器30が占める占有率が、第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 これによれば、エバポレータ10の第2領域βのうち縦方向の少なくとも一方の部位が、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8の内壁に近い位置に配置される場合、その通風路8の中で風速が小さい内壁近くに蓄冷容器30が多く配置され、風速が大きい通風路8の中央部に配置される蓄冷容器30が少なくなる。そのため、その通風路8の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器30によって高くなることが抑制される。したがって、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 また、車両のアイドルストップ制御などによりエンジン5が停止した場合、蓄冷熱交換器は縦方向の中間に位置する冷媒流路21に存在する液相状態の冷媒が蒸発することにより、空気通過部を通過する空気を冷却する。その気相冷媒は縦方向の第1~第4ヘッダタンク51~54側の冷媒流路21に移動し、蓄冷容器30の蓄冷材31との熱交換により冷却されて凝縮する。その凝縮した液相冷媒は重力方向下側に移動しつつ、冷媒温度が沸点よりも高くなると再び蒸発し、空気通過部を通過する空気を冷却する。このように、第3実施形態のエバポレータ10も、車両のエンジン5が停止した状態で、蓄冷材31の冷熱を利用して冷媒を循環させ、蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷媒を介して空気通過部を通過する空気を冷やすことで、車室内の冷房を行うことが可能である。
 (第4実施形態)
 第4実施形態について説明する。図11に示すように、第4実施形態のエバポレータ10は、第1、第3実施形態に対して蓄冷容器30とアウターフィン40の構成を変更したものである。
 図11でも、複数の空気通過部が形成される領域を第2領域βと第1領域αとに分け、その第2領域βと第1領域αとの境界の一例を一点鎖線γによって例示的に示している。この境界線は、車両用空調ユニット6における通風路8の形状、その通風路8におけるエバポレータ10の配置、通風路8の通気抵抗の分布状態などにより任意に設定されるものである。
 第4実施形態では、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち四隅となる部位に配置されている。すなわち、第4実施形態では、第2領域βのうち四隅となる部位に配置されている蓄冷容器30が占める占有率が、第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率より大きいものとなっている。なお、第2領域βのうち四隅となる部位は、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8にエバポレータ10が設置されたとき、通風路8の内壁の四隅に近い位置となる。
 なお、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち四隅となる全ての部位に配置されることに限らず、四隅となる部位うち少なくとも1つの部位に配置されていてもよい。
 複数の冷媒管20の間に形成された複数の隙間のうち、蓄冷容器30が配置されていない複数の隙間は、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8を流れる空気が通過する空気通過部となる。この空気通過部には、複数のアウターフィン40が配置されている。なお、図11においても、アウターフィン40の一部の図示を省略している。
 以上説明した第4実施形態では、エバポレータ10の第2領域βのうち四隅となる部位が、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8の四隅の内壁に近い位置に配置される場合に有効である。すなわち、エバポレータ10は、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8の中で風速が小さい内壁近くに蓄冷容器30が多く配置され、風速が大きい中央部に配置される蓄冷容器30が少なくなる。そのため、その通風路8の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器30によって高くなることが抑制される。したがって、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 また、第4実施形態のエバポレータ10も、車両のエンジン5が停止した状態で、第1、第2実施形態と同様に、蓄冷材31の冷熱を利用して冷媒を循環させ、蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷媒を介して空気通過部を通過する空気を冷やすことで、車室内の冷房を行うことが可能である。
 (第5実施形態)
 第5実施形態について説明する。図12および図13に示すように、第5実施形態のエバポレータ10は、その体格が車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8よりも大きく形成されている。すなわち、エバポレータ10は、車両用空調ユニット6が備える空調ケース7の内側に形成される通風路8と、その通風路8の外側に亘って設置されている。
 エバポレータ10は、空気通過部が形成される領域のうち第1領域αが車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8の中に位置し、第2領域βがその通風路8の外側に位置している。換言すれば、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8に配置される箇所がエバポレータ10の第1領域αであり、通風路8の外側に配置される箇所がエバポレータ10の第2領域βであるともいえる。
 エバポレータ10の第2領域βは車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8の外側に配置されているので、エバポレータ10の蓄冷容器30も、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8の外側に配置されている。複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βに配置されおり、第1領域αに配置されていない。すなわち、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率が、第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 なお、図13では、複数の蓄冷容器30は第1領域αに配置されていないが、上述した占有率の条件を満たせば、蓄冷容器30は第1領域αに配置してもよい。
 複数の冷媒管20の間に形成された複数の隙間のうち、蓄冷容器30が配置されていない複数の隙間は、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8を流れる空気が通過する空気通過部となる。この空気通過部には、複数のアウターフィン40が配置されている。なお、図13においても、アウターフィン40の一部の図示を省略している。
 以上説明した第5実施形態では、エバポレータ10は、車両用空調ユニット6が備える空調ケース7の内側に形成される通風路8と、その通風路8の外側に亘って設置されるものである。車両用空調ユニット6にエバポレータ10が設置された状態で、第2領域βのうち蓄冷容器30が占有する占有率が大きい箇所は通風路8の外側に配置され、第1領域αは通風路8に配置される。
 これによれば、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8の外側に蓄冷容器30を多く配置することで、通風路8の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器30によって高くなることが抑制される。そのため、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 また、第5実施形態のエバポレータ10も、車両のエンジン5が停止した状態で、第1、第2実施形態と同様に、蓄冷材31の冷熱を利用して冷媒を循環させ、蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷媒を介して空気通過部を通過する空気を冷やすことで、車室内の冷房を行うことが可能である。
 (第6実施形態)
 第6実施形態について説明する。
 図14に示すように、第6実施形態のエバポレータ10は、第2ヘッダタンク52が有する流路の底520が、端部から中央部に向かい重力方向下側に傾斜した形状となっている。また、図示していないが、第4ヘッダタンク54が有する流路の底も、端部から中央部に向かい重力方向下側に傾斜した形状となっている。なお、エバポレータ10が車両に搭載された状態で、第2、第4ヘッダタンク52、54は第1、第3ヘッダタンク51、53より重力方向下側に位置するものである。
 上述した第2、第4ヘッダタンク52、54の構成は、車両のアイドルストップ時の冷媒の流れを良好にすることを目的としている。車両のアイドルストップ時におけるエバポレータ10の冷媒の流れについて説明する。
 アイドリングストップ制御等によりエンジン5が停止すると、それに伴って、冷凍サイクル装置1の冷媒の流れが停止する。その際、複数の冷媒管20のうち蓄冷容器30から離れた位置にある冷媒管20の冷媒流路21の温度が上昇し、そこに存在する気液二相状態の冷媒のうちの液相状態の冷媒が蒸発する。このときの冷媒の蒸発潜熱により、空気通過部を通過する空気が冷却される。
 一方、複数の冷媒管20のうち蓄冷容器30に隣接した位置にある冷媒管20は蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷やされるので、その位置にある冷媒管20に存在する液相状態の冷媒はそのまま液相状態を維持する。そのため、第1領域αの冷媒流路21の圧力は、第2領域βの冷媒流路21の圧力よりも高くなる。したがって、図14の矢印130、131、132に示すように、第1領域αの冷媒流路21で蒸発した気相冷媒は、第1、第4ヘッダタンク51、54の流路を通り、第2領域βの冷媒流路21に移動する。
 第2領域βの両側の冷媒流路21に移動した気相冷媒は、蓄冷容器30の蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷却されて凝縮し、矢印132に示すように、重力方向下側に位置する第2、第4ヘッダタンク52、54の流路に流入する。ここで、第6実施形態では、第2、第4ヘッダタンク52、54が有する流路が、端部から中央部に向かい重力方向下側に傾斜した形状となっている。そのため、矢印133に示すように、液相冷媒は、第2、第4ヘッダタンク52、54の流路を端部から中央部に向かって流れる。そして、その流路の端部から中央部に向かって流れる途中、または中央部にて、冷媒温度が沸点より高くなると再び蒸発する。その蒸発した気相冷媒は、再び、矢印130に示すように、第1領域αの冷媒管20の冷媒流路21を流れる。その際、空気通過部を通過する空気と低温の気相冷媒とが熱交換し、空気通過部を通過する空気が冷却される。
 以上説明したように、第6実施形態のエバポレータ10は、車両のエンジン5が停止した状態で、第2、第4ヘッダタンク52、54の流路内の液相冷媒が端部から中央部に向かって流れることにより、冷媒をより早く循環させることが可能である。したがって、このエバポレータ10は、車室内の冷房をより効率的に行うことが可能である。
 (第7実施形態)
 第7実施形態について説明する。
 図15に示すように、第7実施形態のエバポレータ10は、第1領域αにも蓄冷容器30が配置されている。この構成においても、エバポレータ10が備える複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率が、第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 第7実施形態も、上述した第1~第6実施形態と同様の作用効果を奏する。
 (第8実施形態)
 第8実施形態について説明する。
 図16に示すように、第8実施形態のエバポレータ10が設置された通風路8は、エバポレータ10の上流側正面に対向する部位から、エバポレータ10の横方向の一方に延びている。その通風路8には、送風機9が設置されている。
 図16および図17に示すように、第8実施形態のエバポレータ10が備える複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち送風機9が配置された位置に近い方の部位により多く配置されている。蓄冷容器30は、送風機9が配置された位置から遠い方の部位には配置されていない。なお、図16に記載したエバポレータ10には、複数の蓄冷容器30が配置される位置を示している。すなわち、複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち送風機9が配置された位置に近い方の部位に蓄冷容器30が占める占有率が、第1領域αに蓄冷容器30が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 第8実施形態では、送風機9の駆動により通風路8を流れる気流は、図16の矢印Fに示すように、通風路8の内壁に沿って流れる。その気流は、エバポレータ10うちで送風機9から遠い部位を流れる気流の風速が大きいものとなり、送風機9に近い部位を流れる気流の風速が小さいものとなる。そのため、エバポレータ10は、第2領域βのうち送風機9が配置された位置に近い方の部位に蓄冷容器30を多く配置することで、通風路8の風量が蓄冷容器30によって低下することを抑制することができる。したがって、エバポレータ10は、空気通過部を通過する風量を従来のものより増加することで、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。また、エバポレータ10は、通風路8の通気抵抗を下げることで、送風機9の消費電力を低減することができる。
 なお、第8実施形態でも、第1~第7実施形態と同様に、車両のアイドルストップ制御などによりエンジン5が停止した場合、エバポレータ10は、蓄冷材31の冷熱により冷媒を介して空気通過部を通過する空気を冷やし、車室内の冷房を行うことが可能である。
 (第9実施形態)
 第9実施形態について説明する。
 第9実施形態のエバポレータ10が設置された通風路8も、第8実施形態で説明した通風路8と同様の形状であるとする。
 図18に示すように、第9実施形態のエバポレータ10が備える複数の蓄冷容器30も、第8実施形態と同様に、第2領域βのうち送風機9が配置された位置に近い方の部位に蓄冷容器30がより多く配置されている。蓄冷容器30は、送風機9が配置された位置から遠い方の部位には配置されていない。
 さらに、第9実施形態では、第2領域βのうち縦方向の両側の部位にも蓄冷容器30が配置されている。第2領域βのうち縦方向の両側の部位は、送風機9の位置に関わらずそのほとんどの部分で風速が小さい。そのため、蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち縦方向の両側の部位に配置することが可能である。ただし、縦方向の両側の部位であっても、送風機9から遠い方の部位は、風速が大きい。そのため、蓄冷容器30は、送風機9が配置された位置から遠い方の部位には配置されていない。第9実施形態も、第1~8実施形態と同様の作用効果を奏することができる。
 (第10実施形態)
 第10実施形態について説明する。
 図19に示すように、第10実施形態のエバポレータ10が設置された通風路8も、第8、9実施形態で説明した通風路8と同様の形状である。
 図19に記載したエバポレータ10には、複数の蓄冷容器30が配置される位置を示している。
 図20に示すように、第10実施形態のエバポレータ10が備える複数の蓄冷容器30は、第2領域βのうち送風機9が配置された位置に近い方の部位に蓄冷容器30がより多く配置されている。さらに、第10実施形態では、第2領域βのうち送風機9が配置された位置から遠い方の部位であっても、通風路8の内壁により近い部位には蓄冷容器30が配置されている。
 第10実施形態においても、送風機9の駆動により通風路8を流れる気流は、図19の矢印Fに示すように、通風路8の内壁に沿って流れる。その気流は、エバポレータ10うちで送風機9から遠い部位を流れる気流の風速が大きいものとなり、送風機9に近い部位を流れる気流の風速が小さいものとなる。ただし、エバポレータ10うちで送風機9から遠い部位であっても、通風路8の内壁に近い部位は、風が流れにくい。そのため、エバポレータ10は、送風機9から遠い部位であっても、通風路8の内壁により近い部位であれば、蓄冷容器30を配置することが可能である。そのため、第10実施形態も、第1~9実施形態と同様の作用効果を奏することができる。
 (第11実施形態)
 第11実施形態について説明する。
 第11実施形態のエバポレータ10が設置された通風路8も、第8-10実施形態で説明した通風路8と同様の形状である。
 図21に示すように、第11実施形態のエバポレータ10が備える複数の蓄冷容器30も、第10実施形態と同様に、第2領域βのうち送風機9が配置された位置に近い方の部位に蓄冷容器30がより多く配置されている。また、第2領域βのうち送風機9が配置された位置から遠い方の部位であっても、通風路8の内壁により近い部位には蓄冷容器30が配置されている。
 さらに、第11実施形態では、第2領域βのうち縦方向の両側の部位にも蓄冷容器30が配置されている。第2領域βのうち縦方向の両側の部位は、送風機9の位置に関わらずそのほとんどの部位で風速が小さい。そのため、エバポレータ10は、第2領域βのうち縦方向の両側の部位に、蓄冷容器30を配置することが可能である。ただし、縦方向の両側の部位であっても、送風機9から遠い方の部位は、風速が大きい。そのため、縦方向の両側の部位に配置される蓄冷容器30は、送風機9が配置された位置から遠い方の部位には配置されていない。第11実施形態も、第1~10実施形態と同様の作用効果を奏することができる。
 (第12実施形態)
 第12実施形態について説明する。
 図22に示すように、第12実施形態のエバポレータ10が設置された通風路8は、エバポレータ10の正面方向と背面方向の両方に延びている。その通風路8のうち、エバポレータ10の正面方向すなわち上流側には、送風機9が設置されている。すなわち、送風機9とエバポレータ10とは、対向して配置されている。
 図22に記載したエバポレータ10には、複数の蓄冷容器30が配置される位置を示している。第12実施形態のエバポレータ10が備える複数の蓄冷容器30は、第1実施形態で図3を参照して説明したものと同様に、第2領域βのうち横方向の両側の部位に配置されている。第2領域βの横方向の両側の部位は、車両用空調ユニット6の通風路8にエバポレータ10が設置されたとき、通風路8の内壁に近い位置となる部位である。なお、第12実施形態では、第2領域βのうち横方向の一方の部位に配置された蓄冷容器30の数と、横方向の他方の部位に配置された蓄冷容器30の数とを同じにすることが好ましい。
 第12実施形態も、第1~11実施形態と同様の作用効果を奏することができる。
 (第13実施形態)
 第13実施形態について説明する。
 図23に示すように、第13実施形態のエバポレータ10が設置された通風路8も、エバポレータ10の正面方向と背面方向の両方に延びている。その通風路8のうち、エバポレータ10の背面方向すなわち下流側には、送風機9が設置されている。すなわち、送風機9とエバポレータ10とは、対向して配置されている。
 図23に記載したエバポレータ10には、複数の蓄冷容器30が配置される位置を示している。第13実施形態のエバポレータ10が備える複数の蓄冷容器30は、第12実施形態で説明したものと同様である。第13実施形態も、第1~12実施形態と同様の作用効果を奏することができる。
 (他の実施形態)

 また、第3実施形態では、第2領域βのうち縦方向の両側の部位に複数の蓄冷容器30を配置したが、他の実施形態では、第2領域βのうち縦方向の片側の部位に蓄冷容器30を配置してもよい。
 また、第4実施形態では、第2領域βのうち四隅となる全ての部位に複数の蓄冷容器30を配置したが、他の実施形態では、第2領域βのうち四隅となる部位うち少なくとも1つの部位に蓄冷容器30を配置してもよい。
 上記実施形態等では、車両用空調ユニット6は、エバポレータ10の上流側に送風機9を配置したが、他の実施形態では、エバポレータ10の下流側に送風機9を配置してもよい。
 上記実施形態等では、車両用空調ユニット6は、エバポレータ10の上流側の通風路をエバポレータ10の正面に対して湾曲した形状としたが、他の実施形態では、エバポレータ10の上流側の通風路は、エバポレータ10の正面に向かって直線状に形成される形状、または、それ以外の種々の形状としてもよい。

 上述の実施形態の一部または全部で示された第1の観点によれば、蓄冷熱交換器は、車両用空調ユニットに形成された通風路に設置されるものであり、第1ヘッダタンク、第2ヘッダタンク、複数の冷媒管および複数の蓄冷容器を備える。第1ヘッダタンクは、冷媒が流れる流路を有する。第2ヘッダタンクは、冷媒が流れる流路を有し、第1ヘッダタンクに対し離れた位置に設けられる。複数の冷媒管は、第1ヘッダタンクの流路と第2ヘッダタンクの流路とを連通する冷媒流路を有し、互いに間隔をあけて配置される。複数の蓄冷容器は、冷媒管の冷媒流路を流れる冷媒との熱交換により凝固する蓄冷材を貯留し、複数の冷媒管同士の間に形成される複数の空気通過部の一部を塞ぐように設けられる。ここで、複数の空気通過部が形成される領域を、当該領域の中央部分を含む第1領域と、その第1領域以外の第2領域とに分けたとき、複数の蓄冷容器は、第2領域に蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、第1領域に蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 第2の観点によれば、複数の蓄冷容器は、第2領域のうち第1ヘッダタンクと第2ヘッダタンクとが向き合う方向に対し交差する方向の少なくとも一方の部位に蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、第1領域に蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 これによれば、車両用空調ユニットの通風路の中で風速が小さい内壁近くに蓄冷容器が多く配置され、風速が大きい中央部に配置される蓄冷容器が少なくなる。そのため、その通風路の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器によって高くなることが抑制される。したがって、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 また、従来の蓄冷熱交換器が備えている蓄冷容器の形状を変えることなく、本開示の各実施形態である蓄冷容器の配置に容易に仕様変更を行うことが可能である。
 第3の観点によれば、車両用空調ユニットは、蓄冷熱交換器の上流側正面に対向する部位から、第1ヘッダタンクと第2ヘッダタンクとが向き合う方向に対し交差する方向の一方に延びる通風路と、その通風路に設けられた送風機とを備えるものである。
 複数の蓄冷容器は、第2領域のうち送風機が配置された位置に近い方の部位に蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、第1領域に蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 第4の観点によれば、複数の蓄冷容器は、第2領域のうち第1ヘッダタンクと第2ヘッダタンクとが向き合う方向に対し交差する方向の両側の部位に蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、第1領域に蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 これによれば、車両用空調ユニットの通風路の中で風速が小さい内壁近くに蓄冷容器が多く配置され、風速が大きい中央部に配置される蓄冷容器が少なくなる。そのため、その通風路の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器によって高くなることが抑制される。したがって、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 第5の観点によれば、車両用空調ユニットは、蓄冷熱交換器の正面方向および背面方向に延びる通風路と、その通風路の中で蓄冷熱交換器に対向するように設けられた送風機を備えるものである。複数の蓄冷容器は、第2領域のうち第1ヘッダタンクと第2ヘッダタンクとが向き合う方向に対し交差する方向の両側の部位に蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、第1領域に蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 第6の観点によれば、複数の蓄冷容器は、第2領域のうち第1ヘッダタンクと第2ヘッダタンクとが向き合う方向の少なくとも一方の部位に蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、第1領域に蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 これによれば、車両用空調ユニットの通風路の中で風速が小さい内壁近くに蓄冷容器が多く配置され、風速が大きい中央部に配置される蓄冷容器が少なくなる。そのため、その通風路の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器によって高くなることが抑制される。したがって、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 第7の観点によれば、第1領域は矩形であるとし、第2領域は第1領域を囲む形状であるとする。複数の蓄冷容器は、第2領域のうち四隅となる部位に蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、第1領域に蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている。
 これによれば、車両用空調ユニットの通風路の中で風速が小さい内壁近くに蓄冷容器が多く配置され、風速が大きい中央部に配置される蓄冷容器が少なくなる。そのため、その通風路の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器によって高くなることが抑制される。したがって、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 第8の観点によれば、蓄冷熱交換器が車両に搭載された状態で、第1ヘッダタンクは第2ヘッダタンクより重力方向上側に位置するものである。第1ヘッダタンクが有する流路は、第1領域の上側に位置する箇所と、第2領域の上側に位置する箇所とが連通している。
 これによれば、車両のアイドルストップ制御などによりエンジンが停止した場合、第1領域の冷媒流路で蒸発した冷媒は、第1ヘッダタンクが有する流路の中で第1領域の上側に位置する箇所から第2領域の上側に位置する箇所に移動することが可能である。そのため、蓄冷熱交換器は、車両のエンジンが停止した状態で、冷媒を循環させることができる。
 第9の観点によれば、蓄冷熱交換器が車両に搭載された状態で、第1ヘッダタンクは第2ヘッダタンクより重力方向上側に位置するものである。蓄冷熱交換器は、第1ヘッダタンクの流路内の冷媒の流れを規制する仕切板をさらに備えている。その仕切板には、板厚方向に通じる貫通孔が設けられている。
 これによれば、第1ヘッダタンクの流路の中で第1領域の上側に位置する箇所から第2領域の上側に位置する箇所に冷媒の移動が可能となる。そのため、蓄冷熱交換器は、車両のエンジンが停止した状態で、冷媒を循環させることができる。
 第10の観点によれば、蓄冷熱交換器は車両用空調ユニットに形成される通風路に設置されるものである。車両用空調ユニットに蓄冷熱交換器が設置された状態で、第2領域のうち蓄冷容器が占有する占有率が大きい箇所は、通風路の内壁に近い位置に配置される。
 これによれば、車両用空調ユニットの通風路を流れる風速が小さい通風路の内壁近くに蓄冷容器を多く配置することで、風速が大きい中央部に配置される蓄冷容器が少なくなり、通風路の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器によって高くなることが抑制される。そのため、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 第11の観点によれば、蓄冷熱交換器は車両用空調ユニットに形成される通風路とその通風路の外側に亘って設置されるものである。車両用空調ユニットに蓄冷熱交換器が設置された状態で、第2領域のうち蓄冷容器が占有する占有率が大きい箇所は通風路の外側に配置され、第1領域は通風路に配置される。
 これによれば、車両用空調ユニットの通風路の外側に蓄冷容器を多く配置することで、通風路の中央部の通気抵抗が蓄冷容器によって高くなることが抑制される。そのため、車両の通常運転時における冷房能力を高めることができる。
 第12の観点によれば、蓄冷熱交換器が車両に搭載された状態で、第2ヘッダタンクは第1ヘッダタンクより重力方向下側に位置するものである。第2ヘッダタンクが有する流路は、端部から中央部に向かい重力方向下側に傾斜している。
 これによれば、車両のアイドルストップ制御などによりエンジンが停止した場合、第2領域の冷媒流路で凝縮した液相冷媒は、第2ヘッダタンクが有する流路に落下し、その流路内で端部から中央部に流れる。そしてその液相冷媒は流路の中央部で蒸発し、冷媒流路を循環する。これにより、車両のエンジンが停止した状態で、蓄冷熱交換器は冷媒をより早く循環させ、空気通過部を通過する空気の冷却を行うことが可能である。

Claims (12)

  1.  車両用空調ユニット(6)に形成された通風路(8)に設置される蓄冷熱交換器であって、
     冷媒が流れる流路を有する第1ヘッダタンク(51)と、
     冷媒が流れる流路を有し、前記第1ヘッダタンクに対し離れた位置に設けられる第2ヘッダタンク(52)と、
     前記第1ヘッダタンクの流路と前記第2ヘッダタンクの流路とを連通する冷媒流路(21)を有し、互いに間隔をあけて配置される複数の冷媒管(20)と、
     前記冷媒流路を流れる冷媒との熱交換により凝固する蓄冷材(31)を貯留し、複数の前記冷媒管同士の間に形成される複数の空気通過部の一部を塞ぐように設けられる複数の蓄冷容器(30)と、を備え、
     複数の前記空気通過部が形成される領域を、当該領域の中央部分を含む第1領域(α)と前記第1領域以外の第2領域(β)とに分けたとき、複数の前記蓄冷容器は、前記第2領域に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、前記第1領域に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている蓄冷熱交換器。
  2.  複数の前記蓄冷容器は、前記第2領域のうち前記第1ヘッダタンクと前記第2ヘッダタンクとが向き合う方向に対し交差する方向の少なくとも一方の部位に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、前記第1領域に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている請求項1に記載の蓄冷熱交換器。
  3.  車両用空調ユニットは、
     前記蓄冷熱交換器の上流側正面に対向する部位から、前記第1ヘッダタンクと前記第2ヘッダタンクとが向き合う方向に対し交差する方向の一方に延びる前記通風路と、
     前記通風路に設けられた送風機(9)とを備えるものであり、
     複数の前記蓄冷容器は、前記第2領域のうち前記送風機が配置された位置に近い方の部位に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、前記第1領域に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている請求項1または2に記載の蓄冷熱交換器。
  4.  複数の前記蓄冷容器は、前記第2領域のうち前記第1ヘッダタンクと前記第2ヘッダタンクとが向き合う方向に対し交差する方向の両側の部位に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、前記第1領域に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている請求項1ないし3のいずれか1つに記載の蓄冷熱交換器。
  5.  車両用空調ユニットは、
     前記蓄冷熱交換器の正面方向および背面方向に延びる前記通風路と、
     前記通風路の中で前記蓄冷熱交換器に対向するように設けられた送風機とを備えるものであり、
     複数の前記蓄冷容器は、前記第2領域のうち前記第1ヘッダタンクと前記第2ヘッダタンクとが向き合う方向に対し交差する方向の両側の部位に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、前記第1領域に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている請求項1または2に記載の蓄冷熱交換器。
  6.  複数の前記蓄冷容器は、前記第2領域のうち前記第1ヘッダタンクと前記第2ヘッダタンクとが向き合う方向の少なくとも一方の部位に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、前記第1領域に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている請求項1ないし5のいずれか1つに記載の蓄冷熱交換器。
  7.  前記第1領域は矩形であるとし、前記第2領域は前記第1領域を囲む形状であるとしたとき、
     複数の前記蓄冷容器は、前記第2領域のうち四隅となる部位に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率が、前記第1領域に前記蓄冷容器が占める占有率より大きくなるように配置されている請求項1ないし6のいずれか1つに記載の蓄冷熱交換器。
  8.  前記蓄冷熱交換器が車両に搭載された状態で、前記第1ヘッダタンクは前記第2ヘッダタンクより重力方向上側に位置するものであり、
     前記第1ヘッダタンクが有する流路は、前記第1領域の上側に位置する箇所と、前記第2領域の上側に位置する箇所とが連通している請求項1ないし7のいずれか1つに記載の蓄冷熱交換器。
  9.  前記車両用空調ユニットが車両に搭載された状態で、前記第1ヘッダタンクは前記第2ヘッダタンクより重力方向上側に位置するものであり、
     前記第1ヘッダタンクの流路内の冷媒の流れを規制する仕切板(56、57)をさらに備え、
     前記仕切板には、板厚方向に通じる貫通孔(58、59)が設けられている請求項1ないし8のいずれか1つに記載の蓄冷熱交換器。
  10.  前記蓄冷熱交換器は前記車両用空調ユニットが備える前記通風路に設置されるものであり、
     前記車両用空調ユニットに前記蓄冷熱交換器が設置された状態で、前記第2領域のうち前記蓄冷容器が占有する占有率が大きい箇所は、前記第1領域よりも前記通風路の内壁に近い位置に配置される請求項1ないし9のいずれか1つに記載の蓄冷熱交換器。
  11.  前記蓄冷熱交換器は前記車両用空調ユニットが備える前記通風路と当該通風路の外側に亘って設置されるものであり、
     前記車両用空調ユニットに前記蓄冷熱交換器が設置された状態で、前記第2領域のうち前記蓄冷容器が占有する占有率が大きい箇所は前記通風路の外側に配置され、前記第1領域は前記通風路に配置される請求項1ないし9のいずれか1つに記載の蓄冷熱交換器。
  12.  前記蓄冷熱交換器が車両に搭載された状態で、前記第2ヘッダタンクは前記第1ヘッダタンクより重力方向下側に位置するものであり、
     前記第2ヘッダタンクが有する流路の底(520)は、端部から中央部に向かい重力方向下側に傾斜している請求項1ないし11のいずれか1つに記載の蓄冷熱交換器。
