Definitions

  • the present patent concerns cosmetic products, house cleaning and personal care products, shampoos, lotions, creams, cosmetic oils, detergents and other products for animal hair, and in particular it concerns a new type of detergent product, house cleaning product, personal care product, animal care product and cleaning product in general, based on natural and/or vegetable origin raw materials and ingredients, obtained through the extraction of the active principles of vegetable substances, said vegetable substances being immersed in a balanced natural solution.
  • the present patent concerns also the process for producing said product.
  • the Valtellina valley is an Alpine valley with a typical development from East to West, mainly mountainous, which extends over approximately 3200 sqkm along the entire basin of the river Adda, from its source in the Bormio area until near the point where it ends into the Lake Como.
  • the valley develops in such a way that it is parallel to the Alpine ridge, thus separating the Rhaetian Alps from the Bergamasque Alps.
  • this mountain range there are more or less high mountains, some of which are among the most important in Europe: the Bernina Range, the Ortler, the Gran Zebra, Monte Cevedale, the Adamello group.
  • the subject of the present patent is a new process for the production of detergent products, house cleaning products, personal care products, animal care products and cleaning products in general, and the product obtained therewith.
  • the main object of the invention is to provide a new process for the production of detergent products which is sustainable in all its steps.
  • the project intends to recover local botanical species that are interesting from the point of view of application in cosmetics or in the production of detergents, exploiting the old manual collection and drying methods.
  • the new process for the production of the new detergent product comprises the following steps:
  • plant material for the sake of simplicity, from which one or more active principles to be used in the product can be extracted;
  • the detergent product obtained in this way thus comprises the extract of one or more plants or parts of plants, called extraction solvent, and one or more parts of said plants, in addition to any other suitable substances, where the use of the same is contemplated.
  • said step comprises also the selection of said one or more plants or parts of plants. Said collection is preferably made by expert personnel, manually and respecting the best picking time for each individual species.
  • the collection places are preferably at high altitudes, they are difficult to reach with means of locomotion and therefore protected from possible sources of pollution, such as the excessive presence of human beings.
  • the collection area which is identified in advance during a survey step, is reached by the personnel in charge with collection, who spread out uniformly across the area itself.
  • the plants are removed using manual cutters that allow only the plant of interest to be collected, thus avoiding indiscriminate collection.
  • the plants are thus collected one by one and the material obtained is already "clean” and does not need any further cleaning operation. In this way the plant is preserved, the territory is protected and the successive processing times are reduced.
  • This technique furthermore, ensures that the collected material is constituted exclusively by the selected plant and that there are no weeds or "filling" plants, a very common occurrence when plants are collected using electric or motorized machinery.
  • the collection activity has a high economic value, as it contributes to the maintenance of mountain pastures and replaces, when lacking, the important function of flocks and herds which are led up to high altitudes increasingly rarely. All this produces a close synergy between the production activities and the preservation of local agricultural traditions.
  • the step of drying said collected plant material preferably follows the procedure described below.
  • All the collected plant material meaning said one or more plants or parts of plants which have been collected, is dried in a completely natural manner, in the shadow, inside specially equipped huts, possibly at a high altitude, without employing any physical or chemical treatment and without using synthetic agents or antiparasitics.
  • the plants are subject to the same changes in temperature to which they were subject during their vegetative cycle. This contributes to fixing and preserving all their active principles and their properties, which would be irremediably lost under the sun, in the heat or following a forced drying process.
  • Said third extraction step in turn preferably comprises the following steps:
  • Said extraction step is in fact preferably carried out through vibrations produced by ultrasound, as described and claimed here below.
  • Said plant material, collected and dried as described above, is subjected to a special and exclusive extraction process through vibrations by means of equipment including: at least one dynamic stirrer, at least one tank containing an extraction solvent in which said plant material is immersed, at least one ultrasound generator.
  • This system is particularly suitable for preserving the high quality of the raw materials, as it allows a complete phyto complex of the plant to be obtained, thus enhancing the specific richness of spontaneous local plants, meaning of said plant material.
  • said at least one tank there are one or more ceramic plates that when subjected to electric fields generate mechanical energy in the form of deformation or vibration due to a piezoelectric effect.
  • the energy of the vacuoles resulting from cavitation is used to cause the erosion of the solid particles of the material contained in said solvent, ending up with rapid and complete lysis of the cell walls.
  • said grinding of the plant material is performed before proceeding with the extraction, in order to obtain fragments whose size is sufficient to ensure the homogeneous and complete involvement of a greater number of plant cells.
  • the ground plant material is successively mixed with the extraction solvent, placed inside said at least one ultrasound tank and macerated dynamically for a variable period of time, in any case preferably not shorter than 20 minutes.
  • the ultrasound generators are successively activated by adjusting the frequency and the extraction time according to the type of plant material and to its characteristics.
  • the ultrasound frequency is conveniently higher than 16 kHz, with a wavelength included between 7.0 and 0.015 cm.
  • the solid plant material is separated from the enriched solvent, for example and preferably through a filtering operation with cloth filters.
  • Said plant material can then be pressed until the liquid has been completely separated.
  • the plant material obtained in this way can be conveniently used at a later moment to increase the fertility of the surrounding ground through the formation of humus.
  • the company exploits the opportunity, offered by this technology, of making simultaneous extractions of plant active principles from different sources, conveniently selected according to their chemical-physical and functional affinity, after the preparation of a mixture of plants ground individually in a suitable manner.
  • the advantage offered by this operating method lies in the creation of complementary synergies, in which the specific active principles of a botanic species sustain the dissolution of the active principles of like species in the medium, thus improving the effectiveness and the safety of the final complete phyto complex.
  • the innovative presence of the secondary active principles enhances and completes the global effectiveness of the extract, in some cases modifying it considerably and making its use much safer.
  • Another innovative aspect of extraction through ultrasound is the reduction of the bioburden resulting from the disgregation of the bacterial wall caused by the sound wave.
  • Said extraction solvent is preferably and conveniently natural or of natural origin: spring water, ethyl alcohol, wheat germ oil, organic sunflower seed oil, natural triglycerides, glycol (plant origin), vegetable glycerin.
  • the solvent enriched as described above is then introduced in a bottle.
  • the process finally includes the introduction, in each bottle of product, of at least one plant or part of a plant characterizing the formulation, that is, of the same type as the plants contained in said plant material used for the extraction.
  • the new product comprises also an extract obtained by mixing three species of Saponaria, processed without petrochemical solvents and at such a temperature as to completely preserve the properties due to both the primary and the secondary active principles.
  • the mixture contains, in particular, Saponaria officinalis, Saponaria pumila and Saponaria ocymoides, all very rich in saponin, so much that from a functional point of view they can be compared to anionic surfactants.
  • Said plant mixture in the ground state must be mixed with said extraction solvent, always of natural origin, and be first macerated dynamically and then subjected to an extraction process through vibrations generated by ultrasound, in such a way as to obtain a concentrated phyto complex of the mixture.
  • Another characteristic that, on the contrary, is present in all the products related to this patent is the presence of the extract obtained from the plant material that characterizes the formulation and that is present also as plant material physically immersed in the liquid, be it a hydroalcoholic, hydrate, hydroglycerin, glycerin, oil, glycolic extract, which is obtained from a natural raw material, or is an essential oil or distilled water. Then parts of officinal plants, garden plants, aromatic or decorative plants comprising roots, berries, shoots, flowers, leaves, tops, small branches, bark or whole plants, dried or fresh, are manually immersed in the product.
  • the process is a mechanism of extraction through maceration activated by the cosmetic product with respect to the plant: the cosmetic product and the plant start an exchange of their functional principles which is supported by the chemical similarity of their components and exploits the well-known empiric principle according to which a substance is dissolved by a similar substance.
  • the product becomes enriched with the primary and secondary principles and with the natural colour of the plant, while the plant is preserved by the preserving and antioxidant properties that are typical of the product formulated with extracts obtained through ultrasound.
  • the plant immersed in the liquid furthermore, can show streaks in various colours during the life cycle of the cosmetic product: each package is different from the others in terms of colour shade, olfactory notes, presence of natural deposits or sediments, natural extraction of vegetable mucilage.
  • thermolabile active principles are extracted and preserved, also thanks to the preservatives contained in the formula.
  • the exchange stops the process at a balance level in which all the active principles have been transferred and the process "freezes", without evolving in further deterioration.
  • the plant, impregnated as it is with the antioxidant elements and the preservatives contained in the formula neither rots nor deteriorates, not even when the level of the liquid lowers due to the use of the product.
