- FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the power supply box 4 according to the embodiment and the connection relationship between the power supply box 4 and its periphery.
- the power supply box 4 is for in-vehicle use, and is provided between the batteries 1 and 2 and the load 3 which are both on-vehicle.
- the battery 1 is treated as a main battery
- the battery 2 is treated as a sub battery.
- a lead storage battery can be adopted as the main battery
- a lithium ion battery or a capacitor can be adopted as the sub battery.
- the type of the batteries 1 and 2 does not affect the success.
- the load 3 is the above-described important load, and requires redundant power feeding.
- the power supply box 4 functions to relay the power supply from both the batteries 1 and 2 to the load 3. That is, the load 3 is supplied with power from the batteries 1 and 2 via the power supply box 4, and it can be said that this power supply has redundancy.
- the power supply box 4 has a switch part 43.
- the switch unit 43 includes switches 431 and 432.
- the switches 431 and 432 are constituted by relays, and are turned on (“on” or “closed”) or non-conducted (“off” or “open”) by energizing the relay coil.
- the relay will be described as one that conducts by energizing each relay coil (use of a make contact), but a technology that makes non-conduction by energization (use of a break contact). You may adopt. In that case, it is sufficient to appropriately replace the binary logic of various signals described later.
- the switch part 43 does not mean that the switches 431 and 432 are integrally formed.
- each of the switches 431 and 432 may be configured as a relay, and the switch unit 43 may be configured as a relay module.
- the switch 431 has one end connected to the battery 1 via the resistor 451 and the other end connected to the load 3 via the fuse 44.
- the switch 432 has one end connected to the battery 2 via the resistor 452 and the other end connected to the load 3 via the fuse 44.
- both switches 431 and 432 are conductive. Therefore, during normal operation, power is supplied to the load 3 from the battery 1 through a series connection of the resistor 451, the switch 431, and the fuse 44, and from the battery 2 through a series connection of the resistor 452, the switch 432, and the fuse 44.
- the switch 431 turns off the switch 431 when the current I1 flowing through the switch 431 flows in the opposite direction to the current flowing through the switch 431 during normal operation or is smaller than a predetermined threshold. Since battery 1 outputs a potential higher than the ground potential, current I1 flows from battery 1 toward load 3 during normal operation. Hereinafter, the direction of this current is considered positive.
- a short-circuit failure (specifically, a ground fault) occurs in the battery 1 from the normal operation state, the switches 431 and 432 are conductive, so that the current I1 is switched from the battery 2 to the switches 432 and 431. It flows toward the location of the ground fault via this order.
- an open failure occurs in the battery 1 from the normal operation state (specifically, the terminal of the battery 1 is disconnected)
- the current I1 does not flow even if the switches 431 and 432 are conductive.
- the switch 431 is turned off. As a result, the power supply path from the battery 2 to the load 3 via the switch 432 and the fuse 44 can be cut off from the failure location, thereby maintaining the power supply.
- the switch 432 turns off the switch 432 when the current I2 flowing through the switch 432 flows in the opposite direction to the current flowing through the switch 432 during normal operation or when the current I2 is smaller than a predetermined threshold value.
- Such a function of turning off the switches 431 and 432 when not in normal operation is not a function that both of them have to have.
- the function of turning off the switch 431 is to cut off the power supply from the battery 2 to the load 3 from the open failure or short circuit failure of the battery 1, and the switch 432 does not need to be turned off. The same applies to the mode in which the switch 432 is turned off. However, it is obvious that all of the switches 431 and 432 have a function of turning off as described above.
- Such on / off of the switches 431 and 432 is controlled by signals S1 and S2, respectively. Specifically, when the signal S1 is output, the relay coil of the switch 431 is energized from the battery 1, and the switch 431 is turned on. If the signal S1 is not output, the relay coil of the switch 431 is not energized from the battery 1, and the switch 431 becomes non-conductive. There is a similar relationship between the switch 432 and the signal S2.
- the signals S1 and S2 are generated by the control circuit 41.
- the control circuit 41 is provided in the power supply box 4.
- the control circuit 41 includes comparators 411 and 412, and signals S1 and S2 are output from the respective output terminals. That is, the control circuit 41 turns off the switch 431 when the current I1 flows in a direction opposite to that during normal operation or when the current I1 is smaller than a predetermined threshold value.
- the control circuit 41 turns off the switch 432 when the current I2 flows in the opposite direction during normal operation or when the current I2 is smaller than a predetermined threshold value.
- the currents I1 and I2 may take different values from the predetermined threshold.
- the comparator 411 has a positive input terminal, a negative input terminal, and the above-described output terminal.
- a potential V11 on the switch 431 side of the resistor 451 is applied to the positive input end, and a potential V12 on the battery 1 side of the resistor 451 is applied to the negative input end.
- the signal S1 is output only when the potential V11 at the positive input end of the comparator 411 is equal to or lower than the value obtained by subtracting the non-negative threshold from the potential V12 at the negative input end of the comparator 411.
- This non-negative threshold is a product of a predetermined threshold for the current I1 and the resistance 451.
- the comparator 411 determines whether or not the signal S1 is output based on the result of comparing the potential V11 and the potential V12. Specifically, the signal S1 is output only when the potential V12 is greater than the non-negative threshold with respect to the potential V11.
- the presence / absence of the output of the signal S1 is realized as the low / high potential of the signal S1. Therefore, if the current I1 flows in a negative direction or is smaller than a predetermined threshold value, a voltage drop in the resistor 451 is generated so that the potential is lower on the battery 1 side than the switch 431 side, and the signal S1 is not output. (High potential).
- the comparator 412 also has a positive input terminal, a negative input terminal, and the output terminal described above.
- the potential V21 on the switch 432 side of the resistor 452 is applied to the positive side input terminal, and the potential V22 on the battery 2 side of the resistor 452 is applied to the negative side input terminal.
- the signal S2 is output only when the potential at the positive input end of the comparator 412 is equal to or lower than the value obtained by subtracting the non-negative threshold from the potential at the negative input end of the comparator 412.
- This non-negative threshold is the product of a predetermined threshold for the current I2 and the resistance 452. That is, the comparator 412 determines whether or not the signal S2 is output based on the result of comparing the potential V21 and the potential V22.
- the signal S2 is output only when the potential V22 is greater than the non-negative threshold with respect to the potential V21. In this manner, the presence / absence of the output of the signal S2 is also realized as the low / high potential of the signal S2, respectively.
- the comparators 411 and 412 respectively compare the potential applied to the negative input end by raising the potential applied to the positive input end with a non-negative threshold.
- the comparators 411 and 412 may adopt different values as the non-negative threshold.
- the signal S2 is not necessary to perform the operation of turning off the switch 431, and therefore the comparator 412 is unnecessary.
- the signal S1 is not necessary to perform the operation of turning off the switch 432, and therefore the comparator 411 is unnecessary.
- the power supply to the load 3 can be performed for both a short-circuit failure and an open-circuit failure. Secured.
- the control circuit 41 further includes comparators 401 and 402.
- the comparator 401 has a negative input terminal to which the potential V12 is applied, a positive input terminal to which the potential V22 is applied, and an output terminal that outputs the signal K1.
- the comparator 401 outputs the signal K1 only when the potential V22 with respect to the potential V12 is equal to or less than the non-negative threshold.
- the presence / absence of the output of the signal K1 is realized as low / high of the potential of the signal K1. That is, it can be said that the comparator 401 raises the potential applied to the negative input end with a non-negative threshold and compares it with the potential applied to the positive input end.
- the comparator 402 has a positive input terminal to which the potential V12 is applied, a negative input terminal to which the potential V22 is applied, and an output terminal for outputting the signal K2.
- the comparator 402 outputs the signal K2 only when the potential V12 with respect to the potential V22 is equal to or less than the non-negative threshold.
- the presence / absence of the output of the signal K2 is realized as low / high of the potential of the signal K2. That is, it can be said that the comparator 402 also increases the potential applied to the negative input end with a non-negative threshold and compares it with the potential applied to the positive input end.
- FIG. 2 shows the directions of the currents I1 and I2 and the potentials of the signals S1, S2, K1, and K2, the on / off of the switches 431 and 432, and the power supply to the load 3 for five patterns of normal and failure of the batteries 1 and 2. It is a schematic diagram shown about the former. However, the high / low potentials of the signals S1, S2, K1, and K2 are H / L, respectively, that the power supply source is the battery 1, “main”, and that the battery 2 is the “sub”, the battery 1, 2 and “both”, respectively.
- the first pattern (column with (i) in the top row in FIG. 2) indicates a normal operation
- the second pattern (column with (ii) in the top row in FIG. 2) indicates that the battery 2 is normal and the battery 1 is An open failure state
- a third pattern (a row with (iii) in the uppermost row in FIG. 2) shows a state where the battery 2 is normal and the battery 1 is short-circuited
- a fourth pattern ((iv) in FIG. 2)
- the column with the top row shows a state in which the battery 1 is normal and the battery 2 has failed to open
- the fifth pattern (the row with (v) in the top row in FIG. 2) is normal and the battery 2 is short-circuited. Shows a fault condition. In the present embodiment, a case where some failure occurs in both the batteries 1 and 2 is not handled.
- a gateway 5 (indicated as “G / W” in the figure) is connected to the power supply box 4, and signals S 1, S 2, K 1, and K 2 are output to the gateway 5. Normal / failure and failure status can be diagnosed.
- FIG. 3 is a circuit diagram showing a connection relationship between the field effect transistor 431a and its periphery when a P-channel type field effect transistor 431a is employed instead of the switch 431.
- the source of the field effect transistor 431a is connected to the resistor 452, the drain is connected to the fuse 44, and the signal S1 is input to the gate. When the fuse 44 is omitted, the drain is connected to the load 3.
- the field effect transistor 431a is a P-channel type, when the gate potential is lowered, the conduction / non-passage between the source and the drain can be controlled by the low / high gate potential, respectively. Therefore, by inputting the signal S1 to the gate, the conduction / non-conduction of the field effect transistor 431a can be controlled similarly to the switch 431.
- the switch 432 may be replaced with a P-channel field effect transistor.
- an N-channel field effect transistor may be employed in place of the switches 431 and 432 in the same manner as the selection of the make contact / break contact when the switches 431 and 432 are configured by relays. In that case, the presence / absence of the output of the signals S1, S2 corresponds to the high / low of the voltage, respectively.
- each structure demonstrated by said each embodiment and each modification can be suitably combined unless it mutually contradicts.

Description
{変形例}
