Abstract

Die Erfindung richtet sich auf ein Verfahren zur Ansteuerung eines Tintendruckkopfs, umfassend wenigstens ein Drucksystem mit einer Düse an der einem zu bedruckenden Substrat zugewandten Seite einer Tintenkammer, die wenigstens bereichsweise, vorzugsweise in ihrem dem Drucksubstrat abgewandten Bereich, durch eine Membran begrenzt wird, welche durch elektrische Ansteuerung eines mit der Membran mechanisch gekoppelten Piezoelements von der Tintenkammer weg bewegbar ist, um Tinte aus einem Vorratsraum in diese hineinzusaugen, sowie in jene hinein bewegbar ist, um daraus durch die Düse einen Tintentropfen herauszudrücken, wobei das Drucksystem, bestehend aus Tintenkammer, Membran, Piezoelement und dessen Ansteuerelektronik, ein schwingfähiges Gebilde darstellt, welches bei einer energiereichen Ansteuerung zu einer Schwingung mit einer Eigenfrequenz fres angeregt wird, die eine Resonanz zeigt, d.h., dass die Schwingung mit der Periode Tres = 1 / fres nicht oder nur kaum bedämpft wird, und wobei die Helligkeit eines zu druckenden Bildpunktes dadurch variiert wird, indem pro Bildpunkt eine Sequenz von mehreren Tintentropfen aus der selben Düse hintereinander herausdrückbar ist, mit einem zeitlichen Abstand Ttropf = 1 / ftropf, wobei über das Ansteuersignal nur genau dann Energie in das Drucksystem eingeleitet wird, wenn auch tatsächlich ein Tintentropfen herausgedrückt werden soll.
