- FIG. 9 is a sequence diagram for explaining an operation example 1 according to the first embodiment.
- the UE 100 In the initial state of FIG. 9, the UE 100 is in the RRC connected state. Alternatively, the UE 100 may be in an RRC idle state.
- the UE100 receives the MBMS count request.
- the UE 100 has transitioned to the RRC connection state at least before the MBMS counting request is transmitted.
- the MCE 11 sets the predetermined value as the value of the first timer.
- the first timer is a countdown timer
- the countdown starts from a predetermined value
- the first timer expires at “0”.
- the first timer is a count-up timer
- the count-up starts from “0” and the first timer expires at a predetermined value.
- the timer described later may have the same configuration as the first timer.
- the UE 100 can set a pre-defined value as the value of the second timer.
- the UE 100 can set the value received from the cell where the UE 100 is located as the value of the second timer.
- the value received from the cell may be included in the system information block (for example, SIB15) or may be included in the RRC (re-) configuration message.
- the MBMS count request includes a predetermined value to be set as the value of the second timer
- the UE 100 sets the predetermined value as the value of the second timer.
- the set value of the second timer may be the same value as the set value of the first timer.
- the set value of the second timer may be smaller than the set value of the first timer.
- step S107 the UE 100 notifies the MCE 11 of an MBMS counting response (MBMS counting response) until the second timer expires.
- the MBMS count response is a response to the MBMS count request.
- the MCE 11 receives the MBMS count response.
- step S108 the MCE 11 counts the MBMS count response. Specifically, the MCE 11 performs counting for the MBMS count response received until the first timer expires. As a result, the MCE 11 can count not only the MBMS count response transmitted immediately after receiving the MBMS count request, but also the MBMS count response transmitted before the second timer expires. Thereby, the MCE 11 can accurately know the counting result of the MBMS counting response.
- the MCE 11 can start an existing MBMS counting procedure according to its own judgment.
- the UE 100 transmits an MBMS counting response in response to receiving the MBMS counting request. For this reason, the traffic load of the E-UTRAN 10 increases by starting the MBMS counting procedure. Therefore, for example, when congestion occurs in the E-UTRAN 10, the MCE 11 can avoid starting the MBMS counting procedure.
- the BMSC 22 determines the start or end of the provision of the MBMS service according to the counting result of the MBMS counting response. In the operation example 1, since the BMSC 22 provides the MBMS service, the BMSC 22 determines whether to end the provision of the MBMS service. That is, the BMSC 22 determines whether to switch from “MBMS ON” to “MBMS OFF”. For example, the BMSC 22 determines to switch to “MBMS OFF” when the total value of the MBMS count responses is less than the threshold value. When the BMSC 22 determines to switch to “MBMS OFF”, the BMSC 22 starts an operation for notifying the UE 100 that the MBMS transmission is completed.
- step S201 corresponds to step S101.
- Step S202 the MCE 11 is notified of a periodic MooD consumption report request (Periodic MooD Consumption Reporting request).
- the MCE 11 receives the periodic MooD consumption report request.
- the periodic MooD consumption report request may include information indicating the number of MooD consumption reports.
- the periodic MooD consumption report request may further include information indicating a period of the MooD consumption report (for example, once per minute).
- the MCE 11 may determine a predetermined value to be set as the value of the first timer and / or the second timer based on information indicating the period of the MooD consumption report.
- Steps S209 to S212 correspond to steps S105 and S107 to S109.
- the MCE 11 can start executing the MCE counting after performing the MooD consumption report.
- the MCE 11 may terminate the execution of the periodic MCE counting after notifying the MooD consumption report a predetermined number of times based on the information indicating the number of MooD consumption reports.
- the MCE 11 may end the execution of the periodic MCE counting when receiving a notification for ending the periodic MCE counting.
- FIG. 11 is a sequence diagram for explaining an operation example 3 according to the first embodiment.
- the operation example 3 is an operation example for grasping the demand situation of the content at least in the RRC idle UE.
- the UE 100 In the initial state of FIG. 11, the UE 100 is in the RRC idle state.
- the UE 100 may be in an RRC connection state.
- the operation example 3 may be performed after the operation example 1 or the operation example 2 is performed.
- the first timer and the second timer may be used. Further, in the operation example 1 or the operation example 2 before the operation example 3 is performed, the first timer and the second timer may not be used.
- step S301 the BMSC 22 starts to execute a MooD consumption survey of an MBMS service (MBMS user service) targeting an RRC idle UE.
- the BMSC 22 starts the process of step S103.
- the BMSC 22 may include the RRC connection UE in the investigation target.
- the BMSC 22 may start executing the MooD consumption survey based on the MooD consumption report in the operation example 1 or the operation example 2. For example, when the total value of the MBMS count response is less than the threshold, the BMSC 22 may start executing the MooD consumption survey in order to grasp the demand situation of the RRC idle UE for the specific content.
- step S302 the BMSC 22 notifies the MCE 11 of a MooD consumption report request (hereinafter referred to as a second MooD consumption report request) for the RRC idle UE.
- the MCE 11 receives the second MooD consumption report request.
- the second MooD consumption report request may be a request for a MooD consumption report for specific content.
- An identifier related to a specific content for example, an identifier of an MBMS service (TMGI: Temporary Mobile Group Identity) may be included.
- the second MooD consumption report request may include the value of the first timer and / or the second timer. Each predetermined value to be set as a value may be included.
- step S303 the MCE 11 starts execution of extended MCE counting (Enhanced MCE counting). Specifically, the MCE 11 starts the process of step S304 in response to receiving the second MooD consumption report request.
- extended MCE counting Enhanced MCE counting
- the MCE 11 notifies the UE 100 of an enhanced MBMS counting request (Enhanced MBMS Counting request).
- the extended MBMS count request is information indicating a request for counting the number of specific wireless terminals (hereinafter referred to as request information).
- request information is included in control information transmitted via a specific MCH.
- the request information is included in “MCH Scheduling Information Mac control element”.
- the request information may be included in “Extended MCH Scheduling Information Mac control element”.
- the extended MBMS count request may include a predetermined value to be set as the value of the second timer.
- Extended MCH Scheduling Information Mac control element is included in the first subframe assigned to the corresponding MCH (specific MCH) within the MCH scheduling period. “Extended MCH Scheduling Information Mac control element” indicates a position of each MTCH and a position not used on the MCH. Further, “Extended MCH Scheduling Information Mac control element” can indicate whether or not MTCH transmission is stopped. “Extended MCH Scheduling Information Mac control element” includes an LCID field and an S field. The LCID field stores the MTCH logical channel ID (LCID). The S field can store information (“000”) indicating that the MTCH transmission corresponding to the LCID is scheduled to stop.
- LCID MTCH logical channel ID
- Extended MCH Scheduling Information Mac control element When a predetermined value (for example, “111”) other than “000” is stored (set) in the S field in the received “Extended MCH Scheduling Information Mac control element”, the UE 100 controls ( It is determined that “Extended MCH Scheduling Information Mac control element”) includes the request information.
- a predetermined value for example, “111”
- the UE 100 may determine that transmission of the corresponding MTCH is scheduled to stop even though “000” is not set in the S field.
- step S305 the UE 100 notifies the MCE 11 of an enhanced MBMS counting response (Enhanced MBMS Counting response).
- the extended MBMS count response is a response to the extended MBMS count request.
- the MCE 11 receives the extended MBMS count response.
- the UE 100 notifies the MCE 11 of an extended MBMS count response when receiving a specific MBMS service or interested in reception.
- the UE 100 may notify the MCE 11 of the extended MBMS count response when the specific MBMS service (specific MBMS user service) is actually consumed.
- the UE 100 may notify the MCE 11 of an extended MBMS count response when it wants to continuously receive a specific MBMS service transmitted via a specific MTCH.
- the UE 100 may notify the MCE 11 of an extended MBMS count response when there is no plan to enter an RRC connected state (while continuing a specific MBMS service).
- the transmission of the extended MBMS counting response may be omitted.
- the RRC connected UE notifies the MCE 11 of the MBMS count response related to the specific MBMS service based on the MBMS count request, the reception status of the specific MBMS service or the interest in receiving the specific MBMS service has changed.
- the extended MBMS count response may be notified to the MCE 11.
- the UE 100 can notify the extended MBMS count response before the second timer expires.
- the RRC idle UE shifts to the RRC connected state for the purpose other than the notification of the extended MBMS count response until the second timer expires, the RRC idle UE can subsequently notify the extended MBMS count response. For this reason, power consumption can be suppressed compared with the case where the RRC idle UE notifies the extended MBMS count response immediately after receiving the extended MBMS count request.
- UE100 may perform the operation
- Steps S306 and S307 correspond to steps S108 and S109.
- the MCE 11 may count the number of extended MBMS count responses for each specific MBMS service. Alternatively, the MCE 11 may count the number of extended MBMS count responses from the RRC idle UE and the number of extended MBMS count responses from the RRC connected UE, respectively.
- the BMSC 22 may be able to determine the start or end of the provision of the MBMS service according to the counting result of the MBMS counting response only when receiving the MooD consumption report in the operation example 3. That is, the BMSC 22 grasps the demand situation of the content in the RRC idle UE (and the RRC connection UE) instead of determining the start or end of the provision of the MBMS service based on the demand situation of the content only in the RRC connection UE. Only above may it be possible to determine the start or end of the provision of MBMS services.
- the BMSC 22 (and the MCE 11) can grasp not only the content demand status in the RRC connection UE but also the content demand status in the RRC idle UE.
- the UE 100 may execute the process of step S404 while omitting the process of step S403.
- the UE 100 starts the third timer when it starts receiving a specific MBMS service or a specific potential MBMS user service.
- the third timer is a timer for measuring a period during which the notification of the extended interest indication described later is prohibited.
- the UE 100 notifies the network device of the extended interest indication after the third timer expires. That is, the UE 100 executes the process of step S404 after the third timer expires. Thereby, it can suppress that an extended interest indication is notified whenever UE100 starts reception of a specific MBMS service. It is possible to reduce frequent notification of extended interest indications from the UE 100 to the network device.
- step S510 the UE 100 starts a third timer.
- step S520 if the received MBMS service has changed since the UE 100 starts the third timer (Yes), the UE 100 ends the process. That is, the UE 100 ends the process when the MBMS service before starting the third timer is different from the MBMS service after starting the third timer. Thereby, when there is a change in the received MBMS service, the UE 100 cannot immediately notify the extended interest indication. UE100 can start this operation
- step S530 when the third timer has expired (Yes), the UE 100 executes the process of step S540.
- UE100 performs the process of step S520, when the 3rd timer has not expired (No). Note that step S520 executed after step S530 executes the process of step S530 when the MBMS service to be received remains changed or when a new MBMS service is received.
- step S540 the UE 100 notifies the extended interest indication (response report).
- the UE 100 when the interest of the MBMS service changes, the UE 100 notifies the extended interest indication including TMGI.
- the UE 100 may notify the extended interest indication including TMGI when the transmission of a specific MTCH used to provide a specific MBMS service is scheduled to be stopped when the MB100 service is received. Good. Note that the UE 100 determines that transmission of a specific MTCH is scheduled to stop when it receives “Extended MCH Scheduling Information Mac control element” including the S field set to “000”.
- the UE 100 may notify the extended interest indication including TMGI when the third timer is activated or when the third timer expires (only). Alternatively, the UE 100 notifies the extended interest indication including TMGI while the serving cell (PCell) in which the UE 100 is located provides system information (SIB15) related to a mobility procedure for MBMS reception transmitted by broadcast. May be.
- SIB15 system information
- the UE 100 may notify the extended interest indication including the TMGI when the notification of the extended interest indication including the TMGI is permitted (only) from the network device.
- An example of an operation for determining whether or not the UE 100 transmits an extended interest indication will be described with reference to FIG.
- step S501 the UE 100 determines whether or not notification of an extended interest indication including TMGI is permitted from the network device. For example, when the UE 100 receives a request for an extended interest indication from the network device, the UE 100 determines that notification of the extended interest indication including TMGI is permitted from the network device.
- UE100 performs the process of step S510, when the notification of the extended interest indication containing TMGI is permitted from the network apparatus (Yes). Subsequent operations are the same as those described above. On the other hand, UE100 complete
- the UE 100 can notify the extended interest indication when the notification of the extended interest indication including TMGI is permitted from the network device.
- the network device can randomize the transmission of the extended interest indication. For this reason, when the provision of the MBMS service is started, it is possible to suppress the simultaneous transmission of the extended interest indication.
- the network apparatus can control switching between the existing MBMS interest indication and the extended interest indication according to the request for the extended interest indication.
