Abstract
Description
本願は、2015年4月16日に、日本に出願された特願2015-084038号に基づき優先権を主張し、その内容をここに援用する。
歯間ブラシには、ブラシ部とハンドル体とが同一方向に延在するI字形状(つまり、直線状)とされた歯間ブラシや、ハンドル体の先端部の軸線方向に対して、交差する方向に突出する突出部に、前記突出部の突出方向と同じ方向に延在するように設けられたブラシ部を有するL字形状とされた歯間ブラシ(例えば、特許文献1)がある。
L字形状の歯間ブラシは、特に、奥歯の歯間を清掃する際に有効な歯間ブラシである。
特に、奥歯の歯間を清掃する際には、手探りで、ブラシ部を前記歯間に挿入することが多いため、歯肉を傷つける恐れが高い。
また、ブラシ部を歯間に挿入するつもりで、誤って、歯面に対してブラシ部を押し当てると、簡単にブラシ部の後端(基端)が折れ曲がってしまうという問題(破損しやすいという問題)がある。
図1は、本発明の実施の形態に係る歯間ブラシの概略構成を示す側面図である。図1において、Bは領域(以下、「領域B」という)、Cはネック部16の移動可能な方向(以下、「C方向」という)、Eはネック部16の先端部16Aの延在方向(以下、「E方向」という)、Fはハンドル部15の中心線(以下、「中心線F」という)、θ1は中心線FとE方向とが成す角度(以下、「角度θ1」という)をそれぞれ示している。
図2は、図1に示す歯間ブラシの前面図である。図2において、図1に示す構造体と同一構成部分には、同一符号を付す。
図3は、図1に示す歯間ブラシの背面図である。図3において、図1及び図2に示す構造体と同一構成部分には、同一符号を付す。
図1~図3に示すX1,X2方向は、ハンドル体11を構成するハンドル部15の延在方向を示している。図2及び図3に示すY1,Y2方向は、歯間ブラシ10の幅方向を示している。図1に示すZ1,Z2方向は、X1,X2方向、Y1,Y2方向、及び中心線Fと直交する方向を示している。
図5は、図1に示す歯間ブラシからブラシ部及び被覆部を取り外した状態を模式的に示す側面図である。
図5において、Gは第2の突出部42の延在方向(以下、「G方向」という)、Iは領域(以下、「領域I」という)、θ2はG方向とZ1,Z2方向とが成す角度(以下、「角度θ2」という)をそれぞれ示している。また、図5では、図1~図4に示す構造体と同一構成部分には、同一符号を付す。
被覆部配置部24は、被覆部22が配置される部分であり、ハンドル部本体21の他の部分と比較して、被覆部22の厚さ分だけ縮径されている。
これにより、被覆部配置部24に被覆部22を配置させた状態において、被覆部22とネック部16との間、及び被覆部22と被覆部配置部24以外のハンドル部本体21との間に段差が形成されない構成とされている。
第2の凹部27は、ハンドル部本体21の背面側に設けられている。第2の凹部27は、ネック部16の後端側に配置されている。
このような構成とされた第1及び第2の凹部26,27を有することで、被覆部配置部24が厚さの薄い被覆部22で被覆された際、第1及び第2の凹部26,27の形状を被覆部22に転写させることが可能となる。これにより、使用者がしっかりと手でハンドル部15を握ることができる。
このような硬質樹脂としては、例えば、ポリプロピレン(PP)、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)、ポリブチレンテレフタレート(PBT)、ポリシクロへキシレンジメチレンテレフタレート(PCT)、ポリアセタール(POM)、ポリスチレン(PS)、アクリロニトリル・ブタジエン・スチレン樹脂(ABS)、セルロースプロピオネート(CP)、ポリアリレート、ポリカーボネート、アクリロニトリル・スチレン共重合樹脂(AS)等を用いることができる。
これらの硬質樹脂は、1種単独で用いてもよいし、2種以上組み合わせて用いてもよい。
ハンドル部本体21の材料となる硬質樹脂としては、例えば、ポリプロピレン(PP)やポリブチレンテレフタレート(PBT)に、10%以上40%以下の割合とされたガラスファイバーを混練させたものを用いることが好ましい。
被覆部22を構成する軟質樹脂としては、例えば、JIS K 7215 ショアAの硬度が0を超え、90以下とされた樹脂を用いることができる。
このような軟質樹脂としては、例えば、ポリオレフィン系エラストマー、スチレン系エラストマー、ポリエステル系エラストマー等のエラストマー樹脂を用いることができる。
なお、硬質樹脂として、ポリプロピレン(PP)を用いる場合、溶着性の観点から、スチレン系エラストマー樹脂や(ポリ)オレフィン系エラストマー樹脂等を用いることができる。
第1のライン状凸部31は、Y1,Y2方向に延在する凸部であり、第1の凹部26に複数設けられている。複数の第1のライン状凸部31は、X1,X2方向に配置されている。第2のライン状凸部32は、Y1,Y2方向に延在する凸部であり、第2の凹部27に複数設けられている。複数の第2のライン状凸部32は、X1,X2方向に配置されている。
上記説明した第1及び第2のライン状凸部31,32、並びに凸部33を有することで、使用者の手や指が滑りにくくなるため、歯間ブラシ10の操作性を向上させることができる。
ネック部16の先端は、ブラシ部13が設けられる芯部12と一体に構成されている。
ネック部16のY1,Y2方向の幅は、ハンドル部15のY1,Y2方向の幅よりも狭くなるように構成されている。ネック部16は、ハンドル部15の背面側に反った(延びる)形状とされている。
このように、ハンドル部15よりも幅が狭く、かつハンドル部15の背面側に反った形状とされたネック部16を有することで、奥歯の間にブラシ部13を挿入しやすくなるとともに、ネック部16の先端をC方向(Y1、Y2方向に延びる軸線周り方向)に変位させ易くすることができる。
図7は、図5に示す構造体のうち、領域Iで囲まれた部分を拡大した図である。図6において、図1~図6に示す構造体と同一構成部分には、同一符号を付す。
芯部12を構成する硬質樹脂としては、例えば、ハンドル部本体21の材料に適用可能な硬質樹脂と同様な種類の硬質樹脂を用いることができる。この場合、1種の硬質樹脂で芯部12を構成してもよいし、2種以上の硬質樹脂で芯部12を構成してもよい。
これにより、鞘部45の端部からの剥がれに起因する鞘部45の破損を抑制することができる。
このような形状にすることで、第1の突出部41の強度を向上させることが可能となるため、歯間ブラシ10の使用時に印加される応力が第1の突出部41に集中した場合でも、第1の突出部41が破損することを抑制できる。
なお、E方向における第1の突出部41の直径が一定となるように構成した場合においても、前記直径を、例えば、1.2mm以上とすることで、第1の突出部41の破損を十分に抑制することができる。
このように、第2の突出部42の形状を、その後端から先端に向かう方向に対して縮径された形状とすることで、ブラシ部13が設けられた第2の突出部42の先端を歯間に挿入しやすくすることができる。
第2の突出部42の高さは、例えば、5mm以上20mm以下の範囲内において、適宜選択することができる。
このように、第1の突出部41と第2の突出部42との間に、第1の突出部41と第2の突出部42とを接続し、かつ湾曲した形状とされた接続部43を設けることで、歯間ブラシ10の使用時において応力が集中しやすい接続部43に、最も応力が集中する角が存在しなくなるため、接続部43において特定の場所に応力が集中することを抑制可能となる。
これにより、角を有する形状とされた接続部を用いた場合と比較して、上記応力に起因する接続部43の破損(損傷や折れ等)を抑制することができる。
このような形状にすることで、歯間ブラシ10の使用時に接続部43に応力が集中した場合でも、接続部43の破損をさらに抑制することができる。
上記構成とされた芯部12を含む図5に示す構造体は、例えば、図示していない金型(図5に示す構造体の形状に対応する金型)を用いた樹脂成型により、一括して形成することができる。
鞘部45の厚さ(延在方向と直交する方向の厚さ)は、例えば、0.125mm以上0.25mm以下の範囲内で適宜選択することができる。また、鞘部45の厚さは、鞘部45の後端から先端に向かうにつれて厚さが薄くなるように構成してもよい。
複数のブラシ体46としては、例えば、接続部43から第2の突出部42の先端に向かうにつれて、外形が小さくなるリング状(円形や半円形等も含む)の部材を用いることが可能であり、特に、円形状のものが好ましい。
この場合、ブラシ体46であるリング状の部材の外周部の厚さが薄くなるように構成してもよい。この場合、リング状の部材の外周付近の両面で構成される傾斜角度θ3は、例えば、20度とすることができる(図6参照)。また、リング状の部材の最も厚さの厚い部分の厚さは、例えば、0.38mmとすることができる。
複数のブラシ体46として、上記リング状の部材を用いる場合、ブラシ体46の配設ピッチは、例えば、1.2mmとすることができる。
さらに、ブラシ体46のG方向に延在する直交断面形状において、第2の突出部42側の先端側の傾斜角度を接続部43側の傾斜角度よりも小さい角度とすることで、歯間に進入させやすくすることができる。
また、第2の突出部42の先端側の傾斜角度を接続部43側の傾斜角度よりも大きい角度とすることで、歯垢のかき出し効果を向上させることもできる。
すなわち、各ブラシ体46は、G方向と直交する方向に拡径する構成を例示したが、径方向外側に向かうに従ってG方向の基部側(接続部43側)に向けて拡がるように傾斜する構成の場合は歯間に進入させやすくすることができ、径方向外側に向かうに従ってG方向の先端側(接続部43とは逆側)に向けて拡がるように傾斜する構成の場合は歯垢のかき出し効果を向上させることもできる。
これにより、歯や歯肉に硬質樹脂が直接接触することがなくなるとともに、前記硬質樹脂よりも軟らかい軟質樹脂が歯や歯肉と接触することになるため、歯間ブラシ10の使用者の歯肉が損傷することを抑制できる。
これにより、一般的な歯ブラシのように、L字形状とされた歯間ブラシ10を何度も繰り返し使用することができる。
また、本実施の形態では、ネック部16を有するハンドル体11を例に挙げて説明したが、本発明は、ネック部16を有していないハンドル体を構成要素とする歯間ブラシにも適用可能であり、本実施の形態と同様な効果(具体的には、L字形状とされた歯間ブラシにおいて、使用時に歯肉を傷つけることを抑制できるとともに、ブラシ部の基部(後端)が折れ曲がることを抑制できるという効果)を得ることができる。
実施例では、図1に示す歯ブラシ10を作製した。具体的には、下記手法により、歯ブラシ10を作製した。
始めに、図5に示す構造体の形状に対応する空間を有した金型(図示せず)の前記空間に、溶融したポリプロピレンを導入させ、前記ポリプロピレンを固めることで、図5に示す構造体を作製した。
次いで、図1に示す歯間ブラシ10の形状に対応する空間を有する金型(図示せず)の前記空間内に、位置を規制した状態で上記構造体を収容させた。次いで、前記金型の空間内に、溶融したオレフィン系エラストマーを導入させ、前記オレフィン系エラストマーを固めることで、図1に示す歯間ブラシ10を作製した。
また、第1の突出部41の形状を円柱とし、その直径を2mmとした。接続部43の後端の直径を2mmとし、接続部43の先端の直径を1.15mmとした。第2の突出部42の後端の直径を1.15mm、第2の突出部42の先端の直径を0.35mm、第2の突出部42の高さを11.6mmとした。
また、鞘部45については、ブラシ部13の後端の直径が3mmで、かつブラシ部13の先端の直径が0.6mmとなるように、ブラシ部13の後端から先端に向かうにつれて、厚さが薄くなるように構成した。
図8は、参考例の歯間ブラシの概略構成を示す側面図である。図8において、Hは領域(以下、「領域H」という)、Iはハンドル部56の中心線(以下、「中心線I」という)、Jはヘッド部57の先端部57Aの延在方向(以下、「J方向」という)、Kは突出部53の延在方向(以下、「K方向」という)、角度θ4は中心線IとJ方向とが成す角度(以下、「角度θ4」という)、角度θ5はK方向とZ1,Z2方向とが成す角度(以下、「角度θ4」という)をそれぞれ示している。
図9は、図8に示す歯間ブラシのうち、領域Hで囲まれた部分を拡大した図である。図9において、図8に示す構造体と同一構成部分には、同一符号を付す。
歯間ブラシ50は、ハンドル体51と、突出部53と、ブラシ部55と、を有する。ハンドル部51は、ハンドル部56と、ネック部57と、を有する。
ハンドル部56は、図1に示すハンドル部本体21と同様な形状とされたハンドル部本体61と、図1に示す被覆部22と同様な形状とされた被覆部62と、を有した構成とされている。
ネック部57は、その先端が丸みを帯びた形状とされていること以外は、図1に示すネック部16と同様な形状とされている。
ブラシ部55は、鞘部64と、複数のブラシ体65と、を有する。鞘部64は、突出部53の大部分を覆うように配置されている。複数のブラシ体65は、鞘部64のK方向に複数設けられている。複数のブラシ体65の形状は、実施例の複数のブラシ体46と同様な形状とされている。
次いで、図8に示す歯間ブラシ50の形状に対応する空間を有する金型(図示せず)の前記空間内に、位置を規制した状態で上記構造体を収容させた。次いで、前記金型の空間内に、溶融したオレフィン系エラストマー(第2の軟質樹脂)を導入させ、その後、前記オレフィン系エラストマーを固めることで、図8に示す歯間ブラシ50を作製した。
図10は、比較例の歯間ブラシの概略構成を示す側面図である。図10において、Lはヘッド部72の延在方向(以下、「L方向」という)、角度θ6はL方向とZ1,Z2方向とが成す角度(以下、「角度θ6」という)をそれぞれ示している。
比較例の歯間ブラシ70は、ハンドル部71と、ヘッド部72と、突出部73と、ブラシ部75と、を有する。
ヘッド部72は、ハンドル部71及び突出部73との間に配置されており、ハンドル部71及び突出部73と一体とされている。ヘッド部72は、ハンドル部71の延在方向に対して傾斜した方向(L方向)に延在している。突出部73は、ヘッド部72の前面側からZ1,Z2方向に突出している。
ブラシ部75は、金属ワイヤー77と、ブラシ78と、を有する。金属ワイヤー77は、ブラシ78を挟み込むように捻った状態で、Z1,Z2方向に延在している。
専門家パネル10名が、実施例、参考例、及び比較例の歯間ブラシ10,50,70を用いて奥歯周辺を清掃した際の操作性について評価した。
このとき、満点を5点とし、専門家パネル10名の平均点が4点以上の場合を◎とし、平均点が3点以上4点未満の場合を○とし、平均点が1.5点以上3点未満の場合を△とし、平均点が1.5未満の場合を×とした。
この結果を表1に示す。
専門家パネル10名が、実施例、参考例、及び比較例の歯間ブラシ10,50,70を用いたときの奥間への挿入のしやすさの評価を行った。
このとき、5点満点で評価を行い、非常に良い場合を5点、良い場合を4点、やや良い場合を3点、あまり良くない場合を2点、悪い場合を1点とした。
そして、専門家パネル10名の平均点が4点以上の場合を◎とし、平均点が3点以上4点未満の場合を○とし、平均点が1.5点以上3点未満の場合を△とし、平均点が1.5未満の場合を×とした。
この結果を表1に示す。
専門家パネル10名が、実施例、参考例、及び比較例の歯間ブラシ10,50,70を用いたときのブラシ部13,55が設けられた部分(実施例の場合は芯部12、参考例の場合は突出部53)、或いはブラシ部75(比較例の場合)の耐久性の評価を行った。
この結果を表1に示す。
実施例、参考例、及び比較例の歯間ブラシ10,50,70を用いたときのブラシ部13,55が設けられた部分(実施例の場合は芯部12、参考例の場合は突出部53)が破損、或いはブラシ部75(比較例の場合)が破損した際の安全性の評価を行った。
このとき、満点を5点とし、ブラシ部13により折れた芯部12が覆われている場合を◎とし、亀裂が生じた場合を○とし、一部が切れた場合を△とし、完全に分離した場合を×として評価した。
この結果を表1に示す。
専門家パネル10名が、実施例、参考例、及び比較例の歯間ブラシ10,50,70を用いたときの歯肉への痛みのなさの評価を行った。
このとき、5点満点で評価を行い、全く痛みを感じない場合を5点、ほとんど痛みを感じない場合を4点、気にならない程度の痛みを感じる場合を3点、痛みを感じる場合を2点、強く痛みを感じる場合を1点とした。
そして、専門家パネル10名の平均点が4点以上の場合を◎とし、平均点が3点以上4点未満の場合を○とし、平均点が1.5点以上3点未満の場合を△とし、平均点が1.5未満の場合を×とした。
この結果を表1に示す。
表1を参照するに、実施例の歯間ブラシ10では、評価した全ての項目が◎となり、非常に良好な結果が得られた。
参考例の歯間ブラシ50では、実施例の歯間ブラシ10が有する湾曲した接続部43が無く、ヘッド部57の先端部57Aから直接突出部53が延在しているため、突出部53の基部に集中する応力を緩和する部分がない。このため、耐久性の評価において、実施例の歯間ブラシ10の方が、参考例の歯間ブラシ50よりも良好な結果が得られたと推測される。
参考例の歯間ブラシ50では、破損した際の安全性の評価が×となった。この理由としては、破損した際にブラシ部が脱落して、口腔内に残ってしまう場合があったことを例示することができる。
参考例の歯間ブラシ50では、突出部53及びブラシ部55を軟質樹脂で構成したため、歯肉への痛みのなさの評価結果は、◎となった。
ステンレス製のワイヤーを用いた比較例の歯間ブラシ70では、破損した際の安全性の評価が×となった。
Claims (7)
- ハンドル体と、
前記ハンドル体の先端に設けられ、前記ハンドル体の先端部の延在方向と同じ方向に突出する第1の突出部、前記第1の突出部と交差する方向に突出し、後端から先端に向かう方向に対して縮径された第2の突出部、及び前記第1の突出部の先端と前記第2の突出部の後端と一体に構成され、湾曲した形状とされた接続部を含み、かつ硬質樹脂で構成された芯部と、
少なくとも前記第2の突出部を覆う鞘部、及び前記鞘部の外周に設けられた複数のブラシ体を含み、かつ前記硬質樹脂よりも軟質な軟質樹脂で構成されたブラシ部と、
を有することを特徴とする歯間ブラシ。 - 前記第1の突出部の形状は、前記第1の突出部の先端から前記ハンドル体の先端に向かう方向に対して、拡径された形状であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の歯間ブラシ。
- 前記接続部の形状は、前記第2の突出部の後端から前記第1の突出部の先端に向かう方向に対して、拡径された形状であることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の歯間ブラシ。
- 前記鞘部は、前記接続部及び前記第1の突出部を覆うように配置されることを特徴とする請求項1ないし3のうち、いずれか1項記載の歯間ブラシ。
- 前記第1の突出部の外形は、前記ハンドル体の先端部の外形よりも小さく構成されており、
前記第1の突出部と前記ハンドル体の先端部との間には、前記鞘部の厚さの値と等しい大きさの段差が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1ないし4のうち、いずれか1項記載の歯間ブラシ。 - 前記複数のブラシ体は、前記接続部から前記第2の突出部の先端に向かうにつれて、外形が小さくなるように構成されたリング状の部材であることを特徴とする請求項1ないし5のうち、いずれか1項記載の歯間ブラシ。
- 前記ハンドル体は、所定の方向に延在するハンドル部と、
前記ハンドル部と一体とされ、前記ハンドル部の背面側に反った形状とされたネック部と、
を有し、
前記第1の突出部は、前記ネック部の先端に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1ないし6のうち、いずれか1項記載の歯間ブラシ。
