運用者側PCは、会員からの仮想金券への変換要求に対応し、会員の保有する電子ポイントを参照し、変換の可否を判断する。不可能である場合にはその旨を通知する。可能となった場合は会員の保有する電子ポイントから要求額分を減算し、同時に仮想金券として加算し、これへ管理IDを付して管理する。なお、ここで強調したいことは、この仮想金券が電子ポイントに戻せる性質のものであるということである。これが可能なのは、仮想金券毎に誰に対して発行したものであるのかも管理されているためである。
マーカーとしてはバーコード、QRコード、ARコード(いずれも登録商標)が使用される。上記配信、表示は携帯電話等のユーザー側通信手段に提供されたユーザー専用アプリでデータベースと通信することによって表示される、メッセージ(疑似メール)によって行なわれるものとする。
運用者側PCは、会員へ変換額及び管理IDをメール配信もしくは画面表示の形式で通知する。なお、ユーザー専用アプリを用いる場合は、管理IDを文字列等ではなくマーカー表示し、ユーザー側は情報を安易に解読できない状態へ加工し、提供する。
運用者側PCは、会員情報のみならず、店舗会員情報のデータベースをも有している。店舗等が店舗会員になると、店舗会員IDが付与され、このIDの下、パスワード、属性情報、電子ポイント、利用端末情報、提供した店舗専用アプリのID、利用履歴等様々な情報が管理されている。
また、運用者側PCは店舗会員IDとパスワードの一致を条件に店舗会員としてのログインを許可し、使用可否照会のための管理IDの入力を受け付ける。なお、店舗専用アプリによるログインの場合は、店舗会員IDを店舗専用アプリへ、パスワードを利用端末情報へそれぞれ置き換えて、これらが一致する場合にログインを許可し、そのアプリで読み取った管理IDを運用者側PCへ送信させる。
運用者側PCは、店舗が入力する管理IDに基づき、対応する仮想金券の使用可能か否かを判断する。可能である場合はその旨を店舗に通知し、使用申請を受け付ける状態となった旨を店舗等へ通知する。使用不可となった場合、その履歴が、運用者側PCが有するデータベースに書き加えられる。
運用者側PCは、店舗からの使用申請を時間等の期限付きで受け付ける。この期限内に店舗から使用申請が行われた場合、再度管理IDに基づき、仮想金券の使用可否を判断し、可能である場合、この管理IDにユーザー情報や店舗情報等を関連付けて管理しつつ、店舗へ使用申請を承認した旨を通知する。
運用者側PCは、店舗へ使用を承認した仮想金券につき、その管理IDの情報を使用済み(使用不能)として書き換える一方で、使用された仮想金券に対応する電子ポイント額を店舗保有の電子ポイントとして加算する。会員及び店舗へはそれぞれの結果を通知するが、特にユーザー専用アプリが用いられている場合は、通知のみではなく、同時に使用された仮想金券を消去し、再度の利用等の事故を未然に防止する。
