Abstract

車種判別装置（１Ａ）は、光線を投光する複数の投光部（Ｓ１）と、複数の投光部（Ｓ１）の各々と対応して配置され、光線（Ｐ）を受光可能な複数の受光部（Ｓ２）と、複数の受光部（Ｓ２）における光線（Ｐ）の受光の有無を示す検出信号の入力を受け付けて、複数の受光部（Ｓ２）が配置された領域のうち遮光されている光線（Ｐ）に対応する受光部（Ｓ２）が占める遮光領域を取得する遮光領域取得部（１１０）と、異なる時刻に取得された複数の遮光領域を時間軸上に並べて得られる二次元情報である車体シルエットを取得し、当該車体シルエットと車種区分別に分類された参照パターンとに基づいて、車両が属する車種区分を判別する車種判別部（１１１）と、を備えている。
