小型化が容易で、高利得であり、製造コストも抑制でき、さらに設置方向を容易に固定することができるアンテナ、および、通信装置を提供する。基板(4)と、基板(4)に固定された無線回路と、基板(4)に固定され、無線回路に接続される同軸コネクタ(8)と、を備える無線モジュール(2)に取り付けられるアンテナ(3)であって、基板(5)と、基板(5)の一方の面上に形成された導体(6)と、導体(6)に接続された状態で基板(5)に固定され、同軸コネクタ(8)と着脱自在に結合される同軸コネクタ(9)と、を備え、同軸コネクタ(8)と同軸コネクタ(9)とが結合された状態において、基板(5)が基板(4)と平行に固定される。
Description
本発明は、アンテナ、および、アンテナを備える通信装置に関する。
従来、基板上に面状のアンテナエレメントを形成し、同軸ケーブルによりアンテナエレメントに給電を行って、アンテナとして機能させるパターンアンテナが広く用いられている。
例えば、特許文献1には、アンテナエレメントが表面に形成された基板、同軸ケーブル、同軸ケーブルの端部に装着され、受信回路との結合に用いられるRFコネクタの3つの部品で構成されたアンテナが開示されている。
このアンテナでは、同軸ケーブルの内部導体と外部導体とがそれぞれアンテナエレメントにはんだ付けされる。そして、アンテナエレメントで受信した信号は、同軸ケーブルを介して受信回路に伝達される。
しかしながら、上述した特許文献1の従来技術では、同軸ケーブルを介して信号を伝達するため、通信装置を小型化しにくく、低利得となり、製造コストも高くなる。また、屈曲する同軸ケーブルによりアンテナと受信回路とが接続されるため、アンテナの設置方向を固定するには別の部材が必要になる。
本発明は、上述した問題を解決するためになされたものであり、小型化が容易で、高利得であり、製造コストも抑制でき、さらに設置方向を容易に固定することができるアンテナ、および、通信装置を提供することを目的とする。
本発明のアンテナは、第1の基板と、第1の基板に固定された無線回路と、第1の基板に固定され、無線回路に接続される第1の同軸コネクタと、を備える無線モジュールに取り付けられるアンテナであって、第2の基板と、第2の基板の一方の面上に形成された導体と、導体に接続された状態で第2の基板に固定され、第1の同軸コネクタと着脱自在に結合される第2の同軸コネクタと、を備え、第1の同軸コネクタと第2の同軸コネクタとが結合された状態において、第2の基板が第1の基板と平行に固定される。
また、本発明の通信装置は、上記アンテナと、上記無線モジュールとを備える。
本発明によれば、小型化が容易で、高利得であり、製造コストも抑制でき、さらに設置方向を容易に固定することができるアンテナ、および、通信装置を提供することができる。
以下に、本発明の実施形態について、図面を参照して詳細に説明する。
図1は、本発明の実施形態に係る通信装置1の構成の一例を示す図である。図2は、通信装置1を構成する無線モジュール2の構成の一例を示す図である。図3は、通信装置1を構成するアンテナ3の構成の一例を示す図である。
図1に示すように、通信装置1は、無線モジュール2とアンテナ3とを備える。無線モジュール2は、アンテナ3を介して電波を送受信することにより、他の通信装置と無線通信を行うモジュールである。
また、図2に示すように、無線モジュール2は、基板4と、無線回路やマイクロコンピュータ、メモリ、周辺回路などが搭載された電子部品7と、無線モジュール2とアンテナ3との結合に用いられる同軸コネクタ8と、電子部品7に電力を供給するコイン型電池などの電池を収容する電池ホルダ(図示せず)を備える。
同軸コネクタ8は、後述する同軸コネクタ9と接触するピン状の部分を有する内部導体8aと、同軸コネクタ9と接触する筒状の部分を有する外部導体8bとを備えるオスのコネクタである。
さらに、図3に示すように、アンテナ3は、基板5と、基板5の面上に形成された導体6と、同軸コネクタ9と、両面テープ10とを備える。導体6は、ループ状パターンを形成しており、導体6の2つの端部は向かい合っている。この2つの端部に給電がなされることにより、アンテナ3はループアンテナとして機能する。
また、導体6の2つの端部が配置される領域には、無線モジュール2の同軸コネクタ8と結合するメスの同軸コネクタ9が設けられ、同軸コネクタ9は導体6に接続された状態で基板5に固定される。
図3では、同軸コネクタ9を点線で示し、同軸コネクタ9の詳細な形状の図示を省略している。同軸コネクタ9の形状等については、図4~図6を用いて後に詳しく説明する。
同軸コネクタ8と同軸コネクタ9とは、着脱自在に結合される。そして、同軸コネクタ8と同軸コネクタ9とが結合されると、無線モジュール2の基板4と、アンテナ3の基板5とが平行に固定される。
このように、同軸コネクタ8と同軸コネクタ9とを着脱自在に結合することにより、使用目的や使用環境に応じて、アンテナ3とは異なる導体パターンを有するアンテナを用いることができ、指向性や利得を調整することができる。例えば、ダイポールアンテナなどの導体パターンを有するアンテナを用いることができる。
また、無線モジュール2にアンテナ3を固定することができるので、電波の放射方向を一定の方向にすることができ、アンテナ3の設置方向を固定するための別の部材が不要になり、通信装置1を小型化できる。
さらに、基板4と基板5との結合には、同軸コネクタ8、9とは別の固定部材である両面テープ10が用いられる。これにより、基板4と基板5とがより強固に固定される。なお、両面テープ10は必ずしも用いなくともよく、同軸コネクタ8と同軸コネクタ9との結合のみで、基板4と基板5とを固定してもよい。
あるいは、両面テープ10の代わりに、ネジにより基板4と基板5とを固定したり、無線モジュール2とアンテナ3とをケースに収容することにより基板4と基板5とを固定したりしてもよい。また、両面テープ10やネジ、ケース以外の他の固定部材により基板4と基板5とを固定してもよい。
つぎに、アンテナ3が有する同軸コネクタ9の形状等について詳しく説明する。図4は、同軸コネクタ9の平面図であり、図5は、同軸コネクタ9の底面図であり、図6は、同軸コネクタ9の側面図である。なお、図6の一部は、同軸コネクタ9の内部を示すため、断面図となっている。
図4に示すように、同軸コネクタ9には、同軸コネクタ8の内部導体8aのピン状部分が挿入される孔を有する内部導体9a、同軸コネクタ8の外部導体8bの筒状部分と接触する外部導体9b、外部導体8bの筒状部分がはまり込み、外部導体8bと外部導体9bとを接触させる溝9cを有する。
内部導体9aは、図5、図6に示すように、同軸コネクタ9の底面にまで延びており、図3に示した同軸コネクタ9の中央において、導体6の端部と接続される。一方、外部導体9bも同軸コネクタ9の底面にまで延びており、図3に示した同軸コネクタ9の角部において、導体6の端部と接続される。
このようにして、同軸コネクタ9と導体6とを接続し、無線モジュール2から導体6の端部に給電を行うことにより、アンテナ3をループアンテナとして機能させることができる。
図7は、図1に示した通信装置1を基板4、5の法線方向が水平方向となるように配置した場合の放射パターンを示す図である。図7の実線は、通信装置1の水平放射パターンを示し、図7の点線は、通信装置1の垂直放射パターンを示す。
図7に示すように、この通信装置1の指向性は、広く用いられるダイポールアンテナの指向性と同様のものとなる。このように、この通信装置1では、一般的な特性が得られるため、通信装置1の取扱いが容易となる。
また、この通信装置1では、従来のように、無線モジュールとアンテナとを同軸ケーブルを用いて接続するのではなく、同軸コネクタ8、9により結合するため、通信装置1をより小型化できるとともに、通信装置1の製造コストを低減することができる。
さらに、この通信装置1では、無線モジュール2とアンテナ3との結合に同軸ケーブルを用いないため、同軸ケーブルによるケーブルロスがなくなり、高利得の通信装置1が得られる。
本発明は、アンテナ、および、通信装置に用いるのに好適である。

Claims (7)
- 第1の基板と、前記第1の基板に固定された無線回路と、前記第1の基板に固定され、前記無線回路に接続される第1の同軸コネクタと、を備える無線モジュールに取り付けられるアンテナであって、
第2の基板と、
前記第2の基板の一方の面上に形成された導体と、
前記導体に接続された状態で前記第2の基板に固定され、前記第1の同軸コネクタと着脱自在に結合される第2の同軸コネクタと、
を備え、
前記第1の同軸コネクタと前記第2の同軸コネクタとが結合された状態において、前記第2の基板が前記第1の基板と平行に固定されるアンテナ。 - 前記導体は、ループ状に形成される請求項1に記載のアンテナ。
- 請求項1に記載のアンテナと、請求項1に記載の無線モジュールとを備える通信装置。
- 前記第1の基板と前記第2の基板とを、前記第1の同軸コネクタ、および、前記第2の同軸コネクタとは別途固定する固定部材をさらに備える請求項3に記載の通信装置。
- 前記固定部材は、両面テープである請求項4に記載の通信装置。
- 前記固定部材は、ネジである請求項4に記載の通信装置。
- 前記固定部材は、前記無線モジュールと前記アンテナを収容するケースである請求項4に記載の通信装置。
