 オイルミスト検出装置(1a)は、オイルミスト(M)が浮遊している気体(G)中に配置される透明な検出面(30)を有する透明部材(3)と、検出面(30)を透明部材(3)の正面(11)としたとき、透明部材(3)の背面(12)から透明部材(3)に入射した光(L1)が、検出面(30)で反射される角度で、背面(12)に向けて光(L1)を出射する光源部(5)と、光源部(5)から背面(12)に向けて出射された光(L1)が、検出面(30)で反射されている状態で、背面(12)から出てきた光の中から、散乱光(L2)を検出する検出部(7)と、を備える。

Description

オイルミスト検出装置
 本発明は、例えば、油冷式(給油式)の圧縮機に適用できるオイルミスト検出装置に関する。
 油冷式(給油式)の圧縮機によって生成された圧縮気体には、オイルミストが不可避的に含まれる。オイルミストは、濾過フィルタによって圧縮気体から除去する処理がされる。しかし、圧縮気体からオイルミストを完全に除去することはできず、また、濾過フィルタが劣化すると圧縮気体から除去できるオイルミストの量が少なくなる。圧縮気体から見れば、オイルミストは不純物なので、圧縮気体に含まれるオイルミストの量が管理される必要がある。例えば、医療用の圧縮空気のように、オイルミストの量が厳しく管理されている場合がある。
 オイルミスト量の測定は、JIS(Japanese Industrial Standards)のB8392-2で規定されているろ紙を用いる方法が一般的である。この方法について簡単に説明する。この方法は、所定の仕様のろ紙によって圧縮気体を濾過し、溶媒によってろ紙に捕集されたオイルミストを抽出し、分光分析によって溶媒中に含まれるオイルミストの濃度を測定し、測定された濃度をオイルミストの量に換算する。この方法によれば、オイルミストの量を正確に測定できるが、圧縮気体をサンプリングする工程等があり、測定に時間を要するので、オイルミスト量をリアルタイムに測定できない。
 そこで、オイルミスト量をリアルタイムに測定できる装置が提案されている。この装置は、基本光を所定の検出領域に照射し、その検出領域に存在するオイルミストに基本光が当たって生じる反射/散乱光の強度を測定することにより、オイルミストの濃度を検出する(例えば、特許文献1参照)。
 オイルミストを除去する濾過フィルタの性能が向上することにより、オイルミストを除去する処理がされた後の圧縮気体に含まれるオイルミストの量は極めて少なく、かつ、オイルミストの粒径は極めて小さい。このため、上記特許文献1に記載のオイルミスト検出装置のように、気体中に浮遊するオイルミストに光を照射して測定するタイプの場合、オイルミストを検出できないおそれがある。

 本発明は、気体中に浮遊するオイルミストの量が極めて少なく、かつ、オイルミストの粒径が極めて小さくても、オイルミストを検出できるオイルミスト検出装置を提供することを目的とする。
 本発明に係るオイルミスト検出装置は、オイルミストが浮遊している気体中に配置される透明な検出面を有する透明部材と、前記検出面を前記透明部材の正面としたとき、前記透明部材の背面から前記透明部材に入射した光が、前記検出面で反射される角度で、前記背面に向けて光を出射する光源部と、前記光源部から前記背面に向けて出射された光が、前記検出面で反射されている状態で、前記背面から出てきた光の中から、散乱光を検出する検出部と、を備える。
 本発明によれば、気体中に浮遊するオイルミストの量が極めて少なく、かつ、オイルミストの粒径が極めて小さくても、オイルミストを検出できる。

 以下、図面に基づいて、本発明の第1~第6実施形態を詳細に説明する。図1は、第1実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1aを示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1aは、透明部材3、光源部5及び検出部7を備える。
 透明部材3は、検出面30、第1の傾斜面31及び第2の傾斜面32を有する直角プリズムである。透明部材3は、ガラス、プラスチック等の透明な物質により構成される。透明部材3の強度を高くする観点からは、光学ガラスが好ましい。透明部材3の強度及び耐熱性の観点からは、石英ガラスが好ましい。透明部材3の強度、耐熱性及び耐腐食性の観点からは、サファイア(Al)が好ましい。
 検出面30は、透明部材3の正面11を構成する。検出面30は、オイルミストが浮遊している気体中に配置される透明な面である。
 第1の傾斜面31は、透明部材3の背面12を構成し、検出面30に対して傾き(例えば45度)を有する。第1の傾斜面31は、光源部5から透明部材3の背面12に向けて出射された光L1が、透明部材3に入る透明な面である。
 第2の傾斜面32は、透明部材3の背面12を構成し、検出面30に対して傾き(例えば45度)を有する。第1の傾斜面31と第2の傾斜面32との角度は、90度である。第2の傾斜面32は、第1の傾斜面31から透明部材3に入り、検出面30で全反射された、光源部5からの光L1が透明部材3から外に出る透明な面である。
 検出面30、第1の傾斜面31及び第2の傾斜面32により規定される、透明部材3の側面は、直角二等辺三角形の形状を有する。
 光源部5は、検出面30を透明部材3の正面11としたとき、透明部材3の背面12から透明部材3に入射した光L1が、検出面30で反射される角度で、背面12に向けて光L1を出射する。透明部材3の背面12から透明部材3に入射した光L1が、検出面30で全反射される場合で説明するが、これに限定されず、検出面30で反射されればよい。光源部5は、発光部として、例えば、紫外線を発光するLEDを含む。なお、光源部5から一本の光L1が出射されている表現をしているが、実際は、光源部5から光束が出射される。
 検出部7は、光源部5から透明部材3の背面12に向けて出射された光L1が、検出面30で全反射されている状態で、その背面12(第2の傾斜面32)から出てきた光の中から、散乱光L2(図2)を検出する。
 一般に、光源部5からの光L1と散乱光L2とは、波長が同じである。光源部5からの光L1がオイルミストM(図2)に照射されることにより、蛍光の散乱光L2が発生する場合、光源部5からの光L1と散乱光L2とは、波長が異なる。紫外線をオイルミストMに照射すると、オイルの種類によるが、蛍光を発する場合が多い。第1実施形態では、散乱光L2が蛍光であるとして説明する。
 検出部7は、フィルタ70と、フィルタ70を通過した散乱光L2を受光する受光部71と、を含む。オイルミスト検出装置1aが設置されている箇所が暗所である場合、散乱光L2を通過させるが、検出面30で全反射された、光源部5からの光L1を遮断する波長選択特性を有するフィルタ70が用いられる。オイルミスト検出装置1aが設置されている箇所が暗所でない場合、散乱光L2を通過させるが、検出面30で全反射された、光源部5からの光L1を含む他の光を遮断する波長選択特性を有するフィルタ70が用いられる。受光部71は、例えば、フォトダイオードを含む。
 図2は、図1に示すオイルミスト検出装置1aにおいて、検出面30にオイルミストMが付着している状態を示す模式図である。
 図1及び図2に示すように、光源部5から出射された光L1は、検出面30で全反射されて、受光部71に向かう。しかし、その光L1は、フィルタ70により遮断されるので、受光部71まで到達しない。図2に示すように、検出面30にオイルミストMが付着している場合、光源部5から出射された光L1(言い換えれば、光束の一部)は、オイルミストMに照射される。この照射により散乱光L2が発生する。散乱光L2の一部は、フィルタ70を通過して受光部71により受光される。
 検出面30にオイルミストMが付着している状態で、透明部材3の背面12から透明部材3に光L1を入射させ、その光を検出面30で反射させたとき、オイルミストMによって散乱光L2が発生する。従って、光源部5から透明部材3の背面12に向けて出射された光L1が、検出面30で反射されている状態で、背面12から出てきた光の中から散乱光L2が検出できれば、検出面30にオイルミストMが付着していることになる。
 第1実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1aは、気体中に浮遊するオイルミストMを検出するのではなく、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMを検出する。気体中にオイルミストMが浮遊しているとき、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量は、時間の経過に従って多くなる。このため、気体中に浮遊するオイルミストMの量が極めて少なく、かつ、オイルミストMの粒径が極めて小さくても、オイルミストMを検出することができる。
 また、第1実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1aによれば、検出面30で反射された、光源部5からの光L1が受光される位置に受光部71を配置しても、フィルタ70があるので、散乱光L2のみを選択的に受光できる。従って、受光部71が配置される場所の自由度を高めることができる。
 第1実施形態には、第1~第3変形例がある。図3は、第1実施形態の第1変形例に係るオイルミスト検出装置1bを示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1bが、図1及び図2に示すオイルミスト検出装置1aと異なる点は、以下の通りである。
 透明部材3の背面12は、第1の傾斜面31と第2の傾斜面32とをつなぎ、検出面30と対向している対向面33を有する。検出面30、第1の傾斜面31、対向面33及び第2の傾斜面32により規定される、透明部材3の側面は、台形形状を有する。
 検出部7は、対向面33と対向して配置されている。受光部71は、対向面33から透明部材3の外に出る光を受光する。この光は、検出面30で全反射された光L1でなく、散乱光L2の一部である。
 第1変形例は、オイルミスト検出装置1bが設置されている箇所が暗所でない場合を前提とする。フィルタ70は、散乱光L2を通過させるが、散乱光L2以外の光を遮断する波長選択特性を有する。
 第1変形例によれば、検出面30で全反射された光は、第2の傾斜面32から透明部材3の外に出るので、検出部7は、検出面30で全反射された光L1の影響を受けないで、散乱光L2を検出することができる。
 図4は、第1実施形態の第2変形例に係るオイルミスト検出装置1cを示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1cが、図3に示すオイルミスト検出装置1bと異なる点は、検出部7がフィルタ70を備えていないことである。オイルミスト検出装置1cが設置されている箇所が暗所である場合、フィルタ70は不要である。
 図5は、第1実施形態の第3変形例に係るオイルミスト検出装置1dを示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1dが、図4に示すオイルミスト検出装置1cと異なる点は、以下の通りである。
 第1の傾斜面31から透明部材3に入った光L1は、検出面30と対向面33とで複数回反射が繰り返されて、第2の傾斜面32から透明部材3の外に出る。これを実現するために、検出面30の面積、対向面33の面積、及び、検出面30と対向面33との距離等が定められている。
 透明部材3には、対向面33が底となる凹部が背面12に形成されている。これにより、検出面30と対向面33との距離を短くできるので、検出面30と対向面33との間で繰り返される反射の回数を多くでき、散乱光L2の発生量を多くすることができる。
 透明部材3は、検出面30、第1の傾斜面31、第2の傾斜面32及び対向面33に加えて、面34~面39を有する。面34は、検出面30に対して90度の傾きを有しており、検出面30と第1の傾斜面31とをつなぐ。面35は、検出面30と対向しており、第1の傾斜面31とつながっている。面36は、対向面33に対して90度の傾きを有しており、対向面33と面35とをつなぐ。
 面37は、検出面30に対して90度の傾きを有しており、検出面30と第2の傾斜面32とをつなぐ。面38は、検出面30と対向しており、第2の傾斜面32とつながっている。面39は、対向面33に対して90度の傾きを有しており、対向面33と面38とをつなぐ。
 第3変形例に係るオイルミスト検出装置1dによれば、透明部材3に入った光L1は、検出面30と対向面33とで複数回反射が繰り返されるので、散乱光L2の発生量を多くすることができる。このため、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMが微量な場合でもオイルミストMを検出することができる。従って、第3変形例によれば、オイルミスト検出装置1dの感度を向上させることができる。
 オイルミスト検出装置1a~1dは、オイルミストMが浮遊している気体の流路となる配管に配置される。これを、図5に示すオイルミスト検出装置1dを例にして説明する。図6は、オイルミスト検出装置1dが、配管100に取り付けられた状態の第1例を示す模式図である。図7は、同第2例を示す模式図である。
 オイルミスト検出装置1dは、検出面30を外部に露出させた状態で、透明部材3、光源部5及び検出部7を収容するケーシング9を備える。配管100の一部に配管100を貫通する穴部101が形成されており、検出面30が配管100を通る気体Gと接触可能な状態で、オイルミスト検出装置1dが、穴部101に取り付けられている。図6では、気体Gが配管100を流れる方向と平行に、検出面30が配置されている。図7では、気体Gが配管100を流れる方向に向いて検出面30が配置されている。
 光源部5からの光L1(図5)は、検出面30で全反射されなくても、反射されれば、散乱光L2(図5)を発生させることができる。しかしながら、光源部5からの光L1が検出面30で全反射されることが好ましい理由を説明する。
 検出部7は、光源部5からの光L1が検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMに照射されることにより発生した散乱光L2を検出することにより、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMを示す信号を生成する。
 しかし、光L1の一部が、透明部材3を通過し、検出面30を介して、配管100を流れる気体G中に浮遊するオイルミストMに照射されると、それにより散乱光が生じる。この散乱光の一部が、透明部材3を介して検出部7で検出されると、上記信号に対してノイズとなる。光源部5からの光L1が検出面30で全反射されると、そのノイズの発生を防ぐことができる。
 次に、オイルミストMの濃度の測定について説明する。まず、本実施形態において、オイルミストMの濃度が測定できる原理について説明する。本実施形態では、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMが検出される。検出部7によって検出されるオイルミストMの量は、オイルミストMの濃度を測定する時点までに、検出面30に付着したオイルミストMの積算値となる。検出面30に付着するオイルミストMの単位時間あたりの増加量(検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量の時間変化率)は、単位時間において気体Gに含まれているオイルミストMの粒子数に比例する。図8は、それらを基にして作成したグラフである。横軸は、配管100を流れる気体Gに検出面30が接触することを開始してから経過した時間(経過時間)を示す。縦軸は、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量(検出量)を示す。
 (a)で示す第1例では、時間が経過しても、オイルミストMの検出量は、0(ほぼ0)である。これは、経過時間の全期間において、気体GにオイルミストMが含まれていないことを示している。
 (b)で示す第2例では、時間が経過するに従って、オイルミストMの検出量が直線的に増加する。これは、経過時間の全期間において、気体Gに一定濃度のオイルミストMが含まれていることを示している。
 (c)で示す第3例では、経過時間の全期間において、オイルミストMの検出量が増加している。第3例のグラフは、三つの傾きを有する。経過時間の全期間のうち、初期の期間において、グラフの傾きは、第2例のグラフの傾きより大きい。これは、初期の期間でのオイルミストMの濃度が、第2例でのオイルミストMの濃度より高いことを示す。途中の期間において、グラフの傾きは、第2例のグラフの傾きより小さい。これは、途中の期間でのオイルミストMの濃度が、第2例でのオイルミストMの濃度より低いことを示す。最後の期間において、グラフの傾きは、初期の期間の傾きより大きい。これは、最後の期間でのオイルミストMの濃度が、初期の期間でのオイルミストMの濃度より高いことを示す。
 検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量が、一定時間の間隔で測定される。今回の測定で検出されたオイルミストMの量をV1、前回の測定で検出されたオイルミストMの量をV2、一定時間をTとする。(V1-V2)/Tで示す式で得られる値は、図8に示すグラフの傾き、すなわち、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量の時間変化率を表している。
 図8のグラフの傾きが大きいと、オイルミストMの検出量の増加量が多く、グラフの傾きが小さいと、オイルミストMの検出量の増加量が少なくなる。オイルミストMの濃度が高いと、オイルミストMの検出量の増加量が多く、オイルミストMの濃度が低いと、オイルミストMの検出量の増加量が少ないので、グラフの傾き(検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量の時間変化率)は、オイルミストMの濃度と比例する関係にある。
 以上説明した原理を基にして、オイルミストMの濃度を測定する構成について説明する。図9は、図5に示すオイルミスト検出装置1dの構成を示すブロック図である。なお、オイルミスト検出装置1a,1b,1cの構成を示すブロック図は、図9と同じである。オイルミスト検出装置1dは、上述したように、透明部材3、光源部5及び検出部7を備え、さらに、制御部13、入力部14及び出力部15を備える。
 制御部13は、CPU、RAM及びROM等により構成され、機能ブロックとして、データ記憶部130及び第1の算出部131を備える。
 データ記憶部130は、第1のデータ及び第2のデータを予め記憶する。第1のデータ及び第2のデータについて説明する。
 検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量が増えると、散乱光L2の発生量が増えるので、検出部7によって検出される散乱光L2の強度が大きくなる。散乱光L2の強度と、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量との関係を示す第1のデータが、実験により収集される。図10は、第1のデータを説明する説明図である。散乱光L2の強度が大きくなると、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量が増えていることが示されている。図10中の数字は、便宜上の値であり、実験により収集された値ではない。
 上述したように、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量の時間変化率は、気体G中に浮遊しているオイルミストMの濃度と比例する。時間変化率が大きいと、オイルミストMの濃度が高くなる。時間変化率とオイルミストMの濃度との関係を示す第2のデータが、実験により収集される。図11は、第2のデータを説明する説明図である。時間変化率が大きくなると、オイルミストMの濃度が高くなっていることが示されている。図11中の数字は、便宜上の値であり、実験により収集された値ではない。
 第1の算出部131は、第1のタイミングで、検出部7によって検出された散乱光L2の強度と、第1のタイミングから所定期間が経過した第2のタイミングで、検出部7によって検出された散乱光L2の強度と、第1のデータと、第2のデータとを基にして、所定期間中に気体G中に浮遊するオイルミストMの濃度を算出する。
 詳しく説明すると、第1のタイミングで検出部7によって検出された散乱光L2の強度と図10に示す第1のデータとから、第1のタイミングの時点において、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量V2が分かる。同様に、第2のタイミングの時点において、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量V1が分かる。Tを上記所定期間とすると、(V1-V2)/Tで示す式から、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの量の時間変化率が求まる。この時間変化率と図11に示す第2のデータとから所定期間中に気体G中に浮遊するオイルミストMの濃度が分かる。
 入力部14は、外部からコマンド(命令)やデータ等をオイルミスト検出装置1dに入力するための装置であり、例えば、タッチパネルやキーボード等である。
 出力部15は、入力部14から入力されたコマンドやデータ及び制御部13で演算されたオイルミストMの濃度等を出力するための装置であり、例えば、LCD(液晶ディスプレイ)の表示装置や、例えば、プリンタ等の印刷装置である。
 以上説明したように、第1実施形態によれば、気体G中に浮遊するオイルミストMの検出に加えて、オイルミストMの濃度を測定することができる。
 第2実施形態を説明する。図12は、第2実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1eを示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1eは、以下の点で、図5に示すオイルミスト検出装置1dと異なる。検出部7は、対向面33を介して、検出面30及び散乱光L2(図5)を撮像する二次元イメージセンサーを含む。
 図13は、第2実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1eの構成を示すブロック図である。第2実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1eは、図9に示す構成を備え、さらに、第2の算出部132を備える。
 第2の算出部132は、制御部13が有する機能ブロックの一つである。第2の算出部132は、二次元イメージセンサーを含む検出部7によって撮像された検出面30及び散乱光L2の二次元画像を基にして、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの数及び各オイルミストMの大きさを算出する。
 図14は、検出部7によって撮像された検出面30及び散乱光L2の画像を説明する説明図である。検出面30の画像Im中に含まれる白領域は、散乱光L2が発生した箇所、すなわち、オイルミストMが付着している箇所を示している。検出面30の画像Imにおいて、白領域以外は黒領域である。これは、オイルミスト検出装置1eが設置されている場所が暗所だからである。
 第2の算出部132は、画像Im中の白領域を検出する処理をし、検出した数をカウントすることにより、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの数を算出する。また、第2の算出部132は、検出した白領域のそれぞれについて面積を計算する処理をすることにより、検出面30に付着している各オイルミストMの大きさを算出する。
 第1実施形態の受光部71(図1~図5)で検出される散乱光L2の強度が同じでも 比較的小さい多数のオイルミストMが検出面30に付着している場合と、比較的大きい少数のオイルミストMが検出面30に付着している場合とがある。検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMが大きいとき、オイルミストMを除去するための濾過フィルタ(不図示)に問題(劣化や故障)がある可能性がある。第2実施形態によれば、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの数及び各オイルミストMの大きさが分かるので、これを基にして、測定者は、オイルミストMを除去するための濾過フィルタに問題が生じているか判断することができる。
 なお、データ記憶部130及び第1の算出部131を用いてオイルミストMの濃度を測定する場合、検出部7に含まれる二次元イメージセンサーを用いて、散乱光L2の強度が測定される。
 第3実施形態を説明する。図15は、第3実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1fを示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1fは、図6に示すオイルミスト検出装置1dと異なる点を説明する。
 オイルミスト検出装置1fは、検出面30を覆うことによって、検出面30を気体Gから遮断する遮断部材16(シャッタ)を備える。遮断部材16は、金属板、ガラス板又はプラスチック板である。遮断部材16は、検出面30を露出させるために、配管100の内壁に沿ってスライド可能に、配管100内に取り付けられている。このスライドは、移動機構19(図17)によって実現される。図16は、遮断部材16がスライド移動され、検出面30が露出している状態を示す模式図である。
 図17は、第3実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1fの構成を示すブロック図である。第3実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1fは、図9に示す構成を備え、さらに、遮断部材16、移動機構19及び遮断制御部133を備える。
 移動機構19は、遮断部材16を配管100(図15、図16)の内壁に沿って移動させる。これにより、検出面30が遮断部材16によって覆われて、検出面30が配管100を流れる気体Gから遮断された遮断状態と、検出面30が遮断部材16によって覆われないことにより、検出面30が配管100を流れる気体G中に露出している露出状態と、に切り換えることができる。
 移動機構19は、レール及び遮断部材16をレール上でスライドさせる直線運動機構を備える。移動機構19は、上記構成に限定されない。例えば、軸と、軸に固定された遮断部材16と、軸を回転させる回転機構と、を備える移動機構19でもよい。この移動機構19では、回転機構が軸を回転させて、遮断部材16を配管100の内壁の周方向に沿って移動させることにより、上記遮断状態と上記露出状態とを切り換る。また、例えば、遮断部材16の端部に取り付けられた蝶番によって、遮断部材16を回動可能にし、遮断部材16を起立させた状態で上記露出状態にし、遮断部材16を倒した状態で上記遮断状態にする。
 遮断制御部133は、制御部13が有する機能ブロックの一つである。遮断制御部133は、移動機構19を制御することにより、上記遮断状態と露出状態とに切り換える。すなわち、遮断制御部133は、オイルミストMの濃度を測定するために、検出部7によって散乱光L2を検出するとき、遮断部材16が検出面30を覆わない制御をし、オイルミストMの濃度を測定していので、検出部7によって散乱光L2を検出しないとき、遮断部材16が検出面30を覆う制御をする。
 第3実施形態の主な効果を説明する。気体G中にオイルミストMが浮遊していれば、時間の経過に従って検出面30に付着するオイルミストMの量が多くなる。検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの面積及び厚みが大きくなると、散乱光L2の強度が飽和するので、それ以上、オイルミストMが検出面30に付着しても、検出部7によって検出される散乱光L2の強度が大きくならない。このため、第1のタイミングで検出部7によって検出された散乱光L2の強度と、第2のタイミングで検出部7によって検出された散乱光L2の強度との差が生じなくなるので、検出部7、データ記憶部130及び第1の算出部131を用いたオイルミストMの濃度の測定をすることができない。オイルミストMの濃度を測定できるようにするためには、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMを除去するメンテナンスが必要となる。
 第3実施形態では、オイルミストMの濃度を測定しないとき、遮断部材16で検出面30を覆う。従って、第3実施形態によれば、散乱光L2の強度が飽和した状態になることを遅らせることができるので、メンテナンスの回数を少なくすることができる。
 一つのオイルミスト検出装置1fを配管100に取り付けているが、複数のオイルミスト検出装置1fを配管100に取り付けてもよい。これによれば、複数のオイルミスト検出装置1fのうち、まず、1番目のオイルミスト検出装置1fを使用してオイルミストMの濃度を測定する。遮断制御部133は、複数のオイルミスト検出装置1fのそれぞれにおいて、検出面30を遮断部材16で覆う制御をし、1番目のオイルミスト検出装置1fを使用してオイルミストMの濃度を検出するとき、1番目のオイルミスト検出装置1fの検出面30が遮断部材16で覆われない制御をする。遮断制御部133は、1番目のオイルミスト検出装置1fの検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの面積及び厚みが大きくなることにより、散乱光L2の強度が飽和すると、次に、2番目のオイルミスト検出装置1fを用いてオイルミストMの濃度を測定する。以降同様に、遮断制御部133は、n番目のオイルミスト検出装置1fの検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの面積及び厚みが大きくなることにより、散乱光L2の強度が飽和すると、次に、n+1番目のオイルミスト検出装置1fを用いてオイルミストMの濃度を測定する。
 この変形例によれば、複数のオイルミスト検出装置1fを順番に使用することにより、複数のオイルミスト検出装置1fの全てが使用不能になるまで、検出面30に付着したオイルミストMを除去するメンテナンスが不要なので、メンテナンスの間隔を延ばすことができる。
 第4実施形態を説明する。図18は、第4実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1gを示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1gは、図15に示すオイルミスト検出装置1fと異なる点を説明する。
 オイルミスト検出装置1gは、配管100を流れる気体G中に浮遊するオイルミストMの濃度を測定するセンサー17を備える。センサー17は、配管100の内壁に取り付けられた保持部材18によって、配管100の縦断面の中央部で保持されている。
 センサー17は、例えば、PM2.5クラスのホコリを測定できるホコリセンサーである。ホコリセンサーは、空気中のホコリ及び煙粒子(例えば、たばこの煙)の濃度を測定できるセンサーであり、ホコリセンサーによって、気体G中のオイルミストMの濃度を測定する。
 図19は、センサー17の構成を示す模式図である。センサー17は、光源部170及び受光部171を備える。
 光源部170は、例えば、赤外線を発光するダイオードを含む。受光部171は、例えば、フォトトランジスタである。受光部171は、光源部170が出射した赤外線を直接受光しない位置に配置され、光源部170が出射した赤外線によって反射された光を受光する。
 図20は、第4実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1gの構成を示すブロック図である。第4実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1gは、図17に示す構成を備え、さらに、センサー17及び切換制御部134を備える。
 切換制御部134は、センサー17を用いて測定されたオイルミストMの濃度が予め定められた第1の値より小さいとき、オイルミストMの濃度を測定する手段を、センサー17から検出部7、データ記憶部130及び第1の算出部131の組み合わせに切り替え、検出部7、データ記憶部130及び第1の算出部131の組み合わせを用いて算出されたオイルミストMの濃度が第1の値以上の予め定められた第2の値より大きいとき、オイルミストMの濃度を測定する手段を、検出部7、データ記憶部130及び第1の算出部131の組み合わせからセンサー17に切り替える。
 検出部7、データ記憶部130及び第1の算出部131の組み合わせを用いたオイルミストMの濃度の測定は、検出面30に付着したオイルミストMを利用する。このため、第3実施形態で説明したように、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの面積及び厚みが大きくなると、オイルミストMの濃度が測定できくなり、検出面30に付着したオイルミストMを除去するメンテナンスが必要となる。
 オイルミストMの濃度が高いと、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの面積及び厚みが大きくなるまでに要する時間が短い。従って、オイルミストMの濃度を測定しないときに、検出面30を遮断部材16で覆っても、オイルミストMの濃度が高ければ、検出面30に付着しているオイルミストMの面積及び厚みが大きくなるまでに要する時間は短い。
 そこで、第4実施形態では、オイルミストMの濃度が比較的高いとき(言い換えれば、オイルミストMの濃度が上記第2の値より大きいとき)、センサー17を用いてオイルミストMの濃度を測定する。これに対して、オイルミストMの濃度が比較的低く、センサー17を用いて測定できないレベルの濃度のとき(言い換えれば、オイルミストMの濃度が上記第1の値より小さいとき)、検出部7、データ記憶部130及び第1の算出部131の組み合わせを用いてオイルミストMの濃度が測定される。
 第4実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1gの使用態様としてはいくつか考えられる。圧縮機の運転直後において、オイルミストMの濃度が高いとき、オイルミスト検出装置1gは、センサー17を用いてオイルミストMの濃度を測定する。圧縮機の運転が安定し、オイルミストMの濃度が低くなったとき、オイルミスト検出装置1gは、検出部7、データ記憶部130及び第1の算出部131を用いてオイルミストMの濃度を測定する。また、圧縮機の運転中、検出部7、データ記憶部130及び第1の算出部131を用いて測定したオイルミストMの濃度が高いとき、オイルミスト検出装置1gは、センサー17を用いたオイルミストMの濃度の測定に切り換える。
 第5実施形態を説明する。図21は、第5実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1hを示す模式図である。図22は、図21に示すオイルミスト検出装置1hにおいて、検出面30にオイルミストMが付着している状態を示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1hは、以下の点で、図1に示すオイルミスト検出装置1aと異なる。
 光源部5は、発光素子50と、発光素子50からの光が入射し、図21及び図22の紙面に対して、平行方向D1(予め定められた方向の一例)の直線偏光を生成する偏光板51(第1の偏光部材の一例)と、を含む。光源部5は、偏光板51で生成された直線偏光を、背面12に向けた光L1として出射する。
 発光素子50は、例えば、紫外線を発光するLEDである。偏光板51は、発光素子50からの光のうち、図21及び図22の紙面に対して、平行方向D1の直線偏光を透過する透過型偏光板である。
 検出部7は、背面12から出てきた光の中から、上記直線偏光を遮光する偏光板72(第2の偏光部材の一例)と、偏光板72を透過した散乱光L2を受光する受光部71と、を含む。
 偏光板72は、図21及び図22の紙面に対して、垂直方向D2の直線偏光を透過させる透過型偏光板である。よって、偏光板72は、平行方向D1の直線偏光が透過することを阻止する。なお、偏光板51が垂直方向D2の直線偏光を透過させる偏光板の場合、偏光板72は、平行方向D1の直線偏光を透過させる偏光板となる。
 直線偏光が検出面30で反射される際に、直交する2つの偏光成分の位相変化が異なれば、直線偏光から楕円偏光に変化する。楕円偏光は、偏光板72を透過する。これを防止するには、例えば、偏光板51がp偏光を透過させる偏光板のとき、偏光板72はs偏光を透過させる偏光板であり、偏光板51がs偏光を透過させる偏光板のとき、偏光板72はp偏光を透過させる偏光板である。このような組み合わせにすれば、直線偏光が検出面30で反射される際に、直線偏光から楕円偏光に変化することを防止できる。
 s偏光及びp偏光について簡単に説明する。検出面30を境界面とし、検出面30の法線、及び、光源部5が出射した光L1(入射光)を含む平面を入射面(不図示)とする。p偏光とは、入射面において入射面と平行に振動する直線偏光である。s偏光とは、入射面と垂直な方向に振動する直線偏光である。
 予め定められた方向の直線偏光は、検出面30のうち、オイルミストMが付着していない箇所で反射されたとき、そのまま反射される(すなわち、予め定められた方向を維持した状態で反射される)。よって、この直線偏光は、偏光板72を透過できない。
 これに対して、予め定められた方向の直線偏光は、検出面30のうち、オイルミストMが付着している箇所で反射されたとき、直線偏光が維持されず、散乱光L2となる。散乱光L2には、振動方向が様々な方向の偏光が含まれるので、偏光板72に入射した散乱光L2の一部は、偏光板72を透過することができる。
 従って、第5実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1hによれば、受光部71は、検出面30で反射された直線偏光(予め定められた方向の直線偏光)を受光せずに、散乱光L2のみを選択的に受光できる。
 第2の傾斜面32からは、検出面30で反射された直線偏光が出てくるが、受光部71は、散乱光L2を選択的に受光できるので、検出面30で反射された直線偏光の影響を受けることはない。
 第5実施形態には、第1変形例及び第2変形例がある。図23は、第5実施形態の第1変形例に係るオイルミスト検出装置1iを示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1iが、図21及び図22に示すオイルミスト検出装置1hと異なる点は、以下の通りである。
 透明部材3の背面12は、第1の傾斜面31と第2の傾斜面32とをつなぎ、検出面30と対向している対向面33を有する。検出面30、第1の傾斜面31、対向面33及び第2の傾斜面32により規定される、透明部材3の側面は、台形形状を有する。
 対向面33は、検出面30と平行に透明部材3の背面12の一部を切断することにより形成される。従って、オイルミスト検出装置1iによれば、透明部材3を小型化及び軽量化できる。
 図24は、第5実施形態の第2変形例に係るオイルミスト検出装置1jを示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1jは、透明部材3として、図5に示す透明部材3を用いる。このため、オイルミスト検出装置1jによれば、図5に示すオイルミスト検出装置1dと同様に、透明部材3に入った光L1が、検出面30と対向面33とで複数回反射が繰り返されるので、散乱光L2の発生量を多くすることができる。
 オイルミスト検出装置1h~1j(図21~図24)は、オイルミストMが浮遊している気体の流路となる配管に配置される。これを、図24に示すオイルミスト検出装置1jを例にして説明する。図25は、オイルミスト検出装置1jが、配管100に取り付けられた状態の一例を示す模式図である。図25は、図6に示すオイルミスト検出装置1dをオイルミスト検出装置1jに換えた以外は、図6と同様なので、説明を省略する。
 第6実施形態を説明する。図26は、第6実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1kを示す模式図である。図27は、図26に示すオイルミスト検出装置1kにおいて、検出面30にオイルミストMが付着している状態を示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1kは、以下の点で、図1に示すオイルミスト検出装置1aと異なる。
 光源部5は、発光素子50及び絞り部52を含む。発光素子50は、例えば、紫外線を発光するLEDである。絞り部52は、発光素子50からの光を絞る機能を有する。
 オイルミスト検出装置1kは、レンズ80及びレンズ81を含む光学系8を備える。レンズ80は、絞り部52と第1の傾斜面31との間に配置され、絞り部52を通過した光L1を平行光にする。この平行光が検出面30で反射される光となる。レンズ81は、第2の傾斜面32と検出部7との間に配置され、検出面30で反射された平行光を集光する。このように光学系8は、光源部5から背面12に向けて出射され、検出面30で反射された光を集光する機能を有する。
 検出部7は、受光部71及び遮光板73を含む。遮光板73(遮光部材の一例)は、レンズ81の光軸上であって、レンズ81と受光部71との間に配置されている。遮光板73の面のうち、レンズ81側を向いている面が遮光面73aとなる。光学系8の焦点は、遮光面73aに位置する。よって、光学系8は、光源部5の光源像を遮光面73aに結像させる。
 受光部71は、レンズ81の光軸上に配置された受光面71aを含む。受光部71は、光源部5から背面12に向けて出射され、検出面30で反射され、光学系8で集光された光の進行方向から見て、遮光面73aの後方に位置する。受光面71aの面積は、遮光面73aの面積より大きい。受光面71aは、レンズ81を透過した光を受光できる面積を有する。従って、受光面71aは、レンズ81を透過した散乱光L2のうち、遮光面73aで遮光されなかった散乱光L2を受光することができる。
 遮光面73aは、上記光源像が受光面71aに届かないようにする役割を有するので、遮光面73aの面積は、光源像の面積より大きい値となる。このように、遮光面73aは、光源部5から背面12に向けて出射され、検出面30で反射され、光学系8で集光された光を遮光する役割を有する。なお、光源像が遮光面73aの前方又は後方に形成される態様でもよい。遮光面73aは、検出面30にオイルミストMが付着していない状態において、検出面30で反射された光L1を全て遮光する大きさを有する必要がある。
 以上説明したように、第6実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1kによれば、光源部5から背面12に向けて出射され、検出面30で反射され、光学系8で集光された光は、遮光面73aにより遮光され、受光面71aで受光されない。受光面71aは遮光面73aより大きい面積を有し、かつ、散乱光L2は様々な方向に発生するので、散乱光L2の一部は、光学系8を通過し、受光面71aで受光することができる。従って、受光面71aは、光源部5から背面12に向けて出射され、検出面30で反射され、光学系8で集光された光を受光せずに、散乱光L2のみを選択的に受光できる。
 第6実施形態には、第1変形例及び第2変形例がある。図28は、第6実施形態の第1変形例に係るオイルミスト検出装置1mを示す模式図である。図28は、図27に示す透明部材3を、図23に示す透明部材3に換えた以外は、図27と同じである。図23に示す透明部材3による効果は、図23の説明で既に説明しているので省略する。
 図29は、第6実施形態の第2変形例に係るオイルミスト検出装置1nを示す模式図である。オイルミスト検出装置1nは、透明部材3として、図5に示す透明部材3を用いる。このため、オイルミスト検出装置1nによれば、図5に示すオイルミスト検出装置1dと同様に、透明部材3に入った光L1は、検出面30と対向面33とで複数回反射が繰り返されるので、散乱光L2の発生量を多くすることができる。
 オイルミスト検出装置1k,1m,1n(図26~図29)は、オイルミストMが浮遊している気体の流路となる配管に配置される。これを、図29に示すオイルミスト検出装置1nを例にして説明する。図30は、オイルミスト検出装置1nが、配管100に取り付けられた状態の一例を示す模式図である。図30は、図6に示すオイルミスト検出装置1dをオイルミスト検出装置1nに換えた以外は、図6と同様なので、説明を省略する。
 第5実施形態及び第6実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1h,1i,1j,1k,1m,1nにも、第1実施形態で説明したオイルミスト濃度の測定(図8~図11)、第3実施形態で説明した遮断部材16によって検出面30を覆う制御及び覆わない制御(図15~図17)、並びに、第4実施形態で説明した切り替え制御(図18~図20)を適用できる。すなわち、図9、図17及び図20に示す透明部材3、光源部5及び検出部7を、オイルミスト検出装置1h,1i,1j,1k,1m,1nの透明部材3、光源部5及び検出部7に置き換えることができる。
 第5実施形態及び第6実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1h,1i,1k,1mにも、第2実施形態で説明した二次元イメージセンサーによる撮像(図12~図14)を適用できる。すなわち、図13に示す透明部材3、光源部5及び検出部7を、オイルミスト検出装置1h,1i,1k,1mの透明部材3、光源部5及び検出部7に置き換えることができる。例えば、図21に示すオイルミスト検出装置1hにおいて、受光部71の替わりに、二次元イメージセンサー74を配置した状態を示す模式図を、図31に示す。
 第2の傾斜面32は、検出面30で一回反射された光L1が透明部材3から外に出る面となる。二次元イメージセンサー74は、第2の傾斜面32を介して、検出面30及び散乱光L2を撮像する。
 オイルミスト検出装置1j(図24)及びオイルミスト検出装置1n(図29)に、第2実施形態で説明した二次元イメージセンサーによる撮像を適用できない理由を説明する。オイルミスト検出装置1j,1nにおいて、第2の傾斜面32は、検出面30で複数回反射された光L1が透明部材3から外に出る面となる。図12は、図24及び図29と同様に、光源部5から出射された光L1が検出面30で複数回反射される場合を示している。図12を参照して、光L1の光路に、2つのオイルミストMが存在している。第2の傾斜面32を介して、検出面30を見た場合、これらのオイルミストMの位置する方向が同じとなり、これらのオイルミストMを区別できない。このため、オイルミスト検出装置1j及びオイルミスト検出装置1nでは、第2実施形態で説明した二次元イメージセンサーによる撮像を適用できないのである。光源部5から出射された光L1が検出面30で一回反射されて、透明部材3の外に出る構造の場合、このような問題が生じない。
 第1実施形態で説明したように、紫外線をオイルミストMに照射すると、オイルの種類によるが、蛍光を発することが多い。第5及び第6実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置1h,1i,1j,1k,1m,1nにおいて、光源部5から出射される光L1が紫外線のとき、蛍光の散乱光L2が発生する可能性が高い。
(実施形態の纏め)
 本実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置は、オイルミストが浮遊している気体中に配置される透明な検出面を有する透明部材と、前記検出面を前記透明部材の正面としたとき、前記透明部材の背面から前記透明部材に入射した光が、前記検出面で反射される角度で、前記背面に向けて光を出射する光源部と、前記光源部から前記背面に向けて出射された光が、前記検出面で反射されている状態で、前記背面から出てきた光の中から、散乱光を検出する検出部と、を備える。
 検出面にオイルミストが付着している状態で、透明部材の背面から透明部材に光を入射させ、その光を検出面で反射させたとき、オイルミストによって散乱光が発生する。従って、光源部から透明部材の背面に向けて出射された光が、検出面で反射されている状態で、背面から出てきた光の中から散乱光が検出できれば、検出面にオイルミストが付着していることになる。紫外線をオイルミストに照射すると、オイルの種類によるが、蛍光を発する場合が多い。この場合、散乱光は蛍光となる。
 本実施形態に係るオイルミスト検出装置は、気体中に浮遊するオイルミストを検出するのではなく、検出面に付着しているオイルミストを検出する。気体中にオイルミストが浮遊しているとき、検出面に付着しているオイルミストの量は、時間の経過に従って多くなる。このため、気体中に浮遊するオイルミストの量が極めて少なく、かつ、オイルミストの粒径が極めて小さくても、オイルミストを検出することができる。
 上記構成において、前記検出部によって検出された前記散乱光の強度と前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストの量との関係を示す第1のデータ、及び、前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストの量の時間変化率と前記気体中に浮遊しているオイルミストの濃度との関係を示す第2のデータを予め記憶するデータ記憶部と、第1のタイミングで、前記検出部によって検出された前記散乱光の強度と、前記第1のタイミングから前記所定期間が経過した第2のタイミングで、前記検出部によって検出された前記散乱光の強度と、前記第1のデータと、前記第2のデータとを基にして、前記所定期間中に前記気体中に浮遊するオイルミストの濃度を算出する第1の算出部と、をさらに備える。
 この構成によれば、気体中に浮遊するオイルミストの濃度を算出することができる。
 上記構成において、前記検出面を覆うことによって、前記検出面を前記気体から遮断する遮断部材と、前記検出部によって前記散乱光を検出するとき、前記遮断部材が前記検出面を覆わない制御をし、前記検出部によって前記散乱光を検出しないとき、前記遮断部材が前記検出面を覆う制御をする遮断制御部と、をさらに備える。
 気体中にオイルミストが浮遊していれば、時間の経過に従って検出面に付着するオイルミストの量が多くなる。検出面に付着しているオイルミストの面積及び厚みが大きくなると、散乱光の強度が飽和するので、それ以上、オイルミストが検出面に付着しても、検出部によって検出される散乱光の強度が大きくならない。このため、第1のタイミングで検出部によって検出された散乱光の強度と、第2のタイミングで検出部によって検出された散乱光の強度との差が生じなくなるので、検出部、データ記憶部及び第1の算出部を用いたオイルミストの濃度の測定をすることができない。オイルミストの濃度を測定できるようにするためには、検出面に付着しているオイルミストを除去するメンテナンスが必要となる。
 この構成では、検出部、データ記憶部及び第1の算出部を用いたオイルミストの濃度の測定をしないとき、遮断部材で検出面を覆うことができる。従って、この構成によれば、散乱光の強度が飽和した状態になることを遅らせることができるので、メンテナンスの回数を少なくすることができる。
 上記構成において、前記気体中に浮遊するオイルミストの濃度を測定するセンサーと、前記センサーを用いて測定された前記濃度が予め定められた第1の値より小さいとき、前記濃度を測定する手段を、前記センサーから前記検出部、前記データ記憶部及び前記第1の算出部の組み合わせに切り替え、前記組み合わせを用いて算出された前記濃度が前記第1の値以上の予め定められた第2の値より大きいとき、前記濃度を測定する手段を、前記組み合わせから前記センサーに切り替える切換制御部と、をさらに備える。
 この構成によれば、オイルミストの濃度が比較的高いとき(言い換えれば、オイルミスト濃度が上記第2の値より大きいとき)、センサーを用いてオイルミストの濃度を測定する。これに対して、オイルミストの濃度が比較的低く、センサーを用いて測定できないレベルの濃度のとき(言い換えれば、オイルミスト濃度が上記第1の値より小さいとき)、検出部、データ記憶部及び第1の算出部の組み合わせを用いてオイルミストの濃度を測定する。
 上記構成において、前記光源部から出射される光は、紫外線であり、前記光源部から出射された光が前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストに照射されることにより、蛍光の前記散乱光が発生し、前記検出部は、前記散乱光を通過させ、前記光源部から出射された光を遮断する波長選択特性を有するフィルタと、前記フィルタを通過した前記散乱光を受光する受光部と、を含む。
 この構成によれば、検出面で反射された、光源部からの光が受光される位置に受光部を配置しても、フィルタがあるので、散乱光のみを選択的に受光できる。従って、受光部が配置される場所の自由度を高めることができる。
 上記構成において、前記透明部材の前記背面は、前記光源部から前記背面に向けて出射された光が、前記透明部材に入る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第1の傾斜面と、前記検出面と平行に対向している対向面と、前記検出面で反射された光が前記透明部材から外に出る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第2の傾斜面と、を含み、前記検出部は、前記対向面から出てきた前記散乱光を検出する。
 この構成によれば、検出面で反射された光は、第2の傾斜面から透明部材の外に出るので、検出部は、検出面で反射された光の影響を受けないで、散乱光を検出することができる。
 上記構成において、前記第1の傾斜面から前記透明部材に入った光は、前記検出面と前記対向面とで複数回反射が繰り返されて、前記第2の傾斜面から前記透明部材の外に出る。
 この構成によれば、透明部材に入った光は、検出面と対向面とで複数回反射が繰り返されるので、散乱光の発生量を多くすることができる。このため、検出面に付着しているオイルミストが微量な場合でもオイルミストを検出することができる。従って、この構成によれば、オイルミスト検出装置の感度を向上させることができる。
 上記構成において、前記透明部材には、前記対向面が底となる凹部が前記背面に形成されている。
 この構成によれば、検出面と対向面との距離を短くできるので、検出面と対向面との間で繰り返される反射の回数を多くでき、散乱光の発生量を多くすることができる。
 上記構成において、前記検出部は、前記対向面を介して、前記検出面及び前記散乱光を撮像する二次元イメージセンサーを含み、前記オイルミスト検出装置は、さらに、前記二次元イメージセンサーによって撮像された前記検出面及び前記散乱光の二次元画像を基にして、前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストの数及び各オイルミストの大きさを算出する第2の算出部を備える。
 散乱光の強度が同じでも 比較的小さい多数のオイルミストが検出面に付着している場合と、比較的大きい少数のオイルミストが検出面に付着している場合とがある。検出面に付着しているオイルミストが大きいとき、オイルミストを除去するためのフィルタに問題(劣化や故障)がある可能性がある。この構成によれば、検出面に付着しているオイルミストの数及び各オイルミストの大きさが分かるので、これを基にして、測定者は、オイルミストを除去するためのフィルタに問題が生じているか判断することができる。
 上記構成において、前記光源部は、発光素子と、前記発光素子からの光が入射し、予め定められた方向の直線偏光を生成する第1の偏光部材と、を含み、前記第1の偏光部材で生成された前記直線偏光を、前記背面に向けた光として出射し、前記検出部は、前記背面から出てきた光の中から、前記直線偏光を遮光する第2の偏光部材と、前記第2の偏光部材を透過した前記散乱光を受光する受光部と、を含む。
 予め定められた方向の直線偏光は、検出面のうち、オイルミストが付着していない箇所で反射されたとき、そのまま反射される(すなわち、予め定められた方向を維持した状態で反射される)。よって、この直線偏光は、第2の偏光部材を透過できない。
 これに対して、予め定められた方向の直線偏光は、検出面のうち、オイルミストが付着している箇所で反射されたとき、直線偏光が維持されず、散乱光となる。散乱光には、振動方向が様々な方向の偏光が含まれるので、第2の偏光部材に入射した散乱光の一部は、第2の偏光部材を透過することができる。
 従って、この構成によれば、受光部は、検出面で反射された直線偏光(予め定められた方向の直線偏光)を受光せずに、散乱光のみを選択的に受光できる。
 上記構成において、前記光源部から前記背面に向けて出射され、前記検出面で反射された光を集光する光学系をさらに備え、前記検出部は、前記光学系で集光された前記光を遮光する遮光面を有する遮光部材と、前記遮光面の面積より大きい面積の受光面を有し、前記光学系で集光された前記光の進行方向から見て、前記遮光面より後方に位置し、前記光学系を通過した前記散乱光を前記受光面で受光する受光部と、を含む。
 光源部から背面に向けて出射され、検出面で反射され、光学系で集光された光は、遮光面により遮光されるので、受光面で受光されない。受光面は遮光面より大きい面積を有し、かつ、散乱光は様々な方向に発生するので、散乱光の一部は光学系を通過し、受光面で受光することができる。従って、この構成によれば、受光部は、光源部から背面に向けて出射され、検出面で反射された光を受光せずに、散乱光のみを選択的に受光できる。
 上記構成において、前記光学系は、前記光源部の光源像を前記遮光面に結像させる。
 この構成は、光学系の焦点が遮光面に位置する場合である。この場合、遮光面上で光源像が結像されるので、遮光面上で光源像を結像させない場合と比べて、遮光面の面積を小さくできる。従って、この構成によれば、受光部で受光できる散乱光の光量を多くすることができる。
 上記構成において、前記光源部から出射される光は、紫外線であり、前記光源部から出射された光が前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストに照射されることにより、蛍光の前記散乱光が発生する。
 この構成は、散乱光が蛍光となる場合である。
 上記構成において、前記透明部材の前記背面は、前記光源部から前記背面に向けて出射された光が、前記透明部材に入る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第1の傾斜面と、前記検出面と平行に対向している対向面と、前記検出面で反射された光が前記透明部材から外に出る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第2の傾斜面と、を含み、前記検出部は、前記第2の傾斜面から出てきた前記散乱光を検出する。
 第2の傾斜面からは、検出面で反射された光が出てくるが、受光部は、散乱光を選択的に受光できるので、検出面で反射された光の影響を受けることはない。
 上記構成において、前記第1の傾斜面から前記透明部材に入った光は、前記検出面と前記対向面とで複数回反射が繰り返されて、前記第2の傾斜面から前記透明部材の外に出る。
 この構成によれば、透明部材に入った光は、検出面と対向面とで複数回反射が繰り返されるので、散乱光の発生量を多くすることができる。このため、検出面に付着しているオイルミストが微量な場合でもオイルミストを検出することができる。従って、この構成によれば、オイルミスト検出装置の感度を向上させることができる。
 上記構成において、前記透明部材には、前記対向面が底となる凹部が前記背面に形成されている。
 この構成によれば、検出面と対向面との距離を短くできるので、検出面と対向面との間で繰り返される反射の回数を多くでき、散乱光の発生量を多くすることができる。
 上記構成において、前記透明部材の前記背面は、前記光源部から前記背面に向けて出射された光が、前記透明部材に入る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第1の傾斜面と、前記検出面で一回反射された光が前記透明部材から外に出る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第2の傾斜面と、を含み、前記受光部は、前記第2の傾斜面を介して、前記検出面及び前記散乱光を撮像する二次元イメージセンサーを含み、前記オイルミスト検出装置は、さらに、前記二次元イメージセンサーによって撮像された前記検出面及び前記散乱光の二次元画像を基にして、前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストの数及び各オイルミストの大きさを算出する第2の算出部を備える。
 散乱光の強度が同じでも 比較的小さい多数のオイルミストが検出面に付着している場合と、比較的大きい少数のオイルミストが検出面に付着している場合とがある。検出面に付着しているオイルミストが大きいとき、オイルミストを除去するためのフィルタに問題(劣化や故障)がある可能性がある。この構成によれば、検出面に付着しているオイルミストの数及び各オイルミストの大きさが分かるので、これを基にして、測定者は、オイルミストを除去するためのフィルタに問題が生じているか判断することができる。
 なお、検出面で一回反射された光が、第2の傾斜面から透明部材の外に出る構造にした理由は、発明を実施するための形態の欄で説明する。
 上記構成において、前記光源部は、前記背面から前記透明部材に入射した光が、前記検出面で全反射される角度で、前記背面に向けて光を出射する。
 光源部からの光は、検出面で全反射されなくても、反射されれば、散乱光を発生させることができる。しかしながら、光源部からの光が検出面で全反射されることが好ましい理由を説明する。
 検出部は、光源部からの光が検出面に付着しているオイルミストに照射されることにより発生した散乱光を検出し、検出面に付着しているオイルミストを示す信号を生成する。
 しかし、その光の一部が、透明部材を通過し、検出面を介して、気体中に浮遊するオイルミストに照射されると、それにより散乱光が生じる。この散乱光の一部が、透明部材を介して検出部で検出されると、上記信号に対してノイズとなる。光源部からの光が検出面で全反射されると、そのノイズの発生を防ぐことができる。
 この出願は、2015年2月12日に出願された日本国特許出願特願2015-025514、及び、2015年7月17日に出願された日本国特許出願特願2015-143340を基礎とするものであり、その内容は、本願に含まれるものである。
 本発明を表現するために、上述において図面を参照しながら実施形態を通して本発明を適切且つ十分に説明したが、当業者であれば上述の実施形態を変更および/または改良することは容易に為し得ることであると認識すべきである。したがって、当業者が実施する変更形態または改良形態が、請求の範囲に記載された請求項の権利範囲を離脱するレベルのものでない限り、当該変更形態または当該改良形態は、当該請求項の権利範囲に包括されると解釈される。

Claims (18)

  1.  オイルミストが浮遊している気体中に配置される透明な検出面を有する透明部材と、
     前記検出面を前記透明部材の正面としたとき、前記透明部材の背面から前記透明部材に入射した光が、前記検出面で反射される角度で、前記背面に向けて光を出射する光源部と、
     前記光源部から前記背面に向けて出射された光が、前記検出面で反射されている状態で、前記背面から出てきた光の中から、散乱光を検出する検出部と、を備えるオイルミスト検出装置。
  2.  前記検出部によって検出された前記散乱光の強度と前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストの量との関係を示す第1のデータ、及び、前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストの量の時間変化率と前記気体中に浮遊しているオイルミストの濃度との関係を示す第2のデータを予め記憶するデータ記憶部と、
     第1のタイミングで、前記検出部によって検出された前記散乱光の強度と、前記第1のタイミングから前記所定期間が経過した第2のタイミングで、前記検出部によって検出された前記散乱光の強度と、前記第1のデータと、前記第2のデータとを基にして、前記所定期間中に前記気体中に浮遊するオイルミストの濃度を算出する第1の算出部と、をさらに備える請求項1に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  3.  前記検出面を覆うことによって、前記検出面を前記気体から遮断する遮断部材と、
     前記検出部によって前記散乱光を検出するとき、前記遮断部材が前記検出面を覆わない制御をし、前記検出部によって前記散乱光を検出しないとき、前記遮断部材が前記検出面を覆う制御をする遮断制御部と、をさらに備える請求項2に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  4.  前記気体中に浮遊するオイルミストの濃度を測定するセンサーと、
     前記センサーを用いて測定された前記濃度が予め定められた第1の値より小さいとき、前記濃度を測定する手段を、前記センサーから前記検出部、前記データ記憶部及び前記第1の算出部の組み合わせに切り替え、前記組み合わせを用いて算出された前記濃度が前記第1の値以上の予め定められた第2の値より大きいとき、前記濃度を測定する手段を、前記組み合わせから前記センサーに切り替える切換制御部と、をさらに備える請求項3に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  5.  前記光源部から出射される光は、紫外線であり、
     前記光源部から出射された光が前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストに照射されることにより、蛍光の前記散乱光が発生し、
     前記検出部は、前記散乱光を通過させ、前記光源部から出射された光を遮断する波長選択特性を有するフィルタと、前記フィルタを通過した前記散乱光を受光する受光部と、を含む請求項1に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  6.  前記透明部材の前記背面は、前記光源部から前記背面に向けて出射された光が、前記透明部材に入る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第1の傾斜面と、前記検出面と平行に対向している対向面と、前記検出面で反射された光が前記透明部材から外に出る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第2の傾斜面と、を含み、
     前記検出部は、前記対向面から出てきた前記散乱光を検出する請求項1に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  7.  前記第1の傾斜面から前記透明部材に入った光は、前記検出面と前記対向面とで複数回反射が繰り返されて、前記第2の傾斜面から前記透明部材の外に出る請求項6に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  8.  前記透明部材には、前記対向面が底となる凹部が前記背面に形成されている請求項7に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  9.  前記検出部は、前記対向面を介して、前記検出面及び前記散乱光を撮像する二次元イメージセンサーを含み、
     前記オイルミスト検出装置は、さらに、
     前記二次元イメージセンサーによって撮像された前記検出面及び前記散乱光の二次元画像を基にして、前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストの数及び各オイルミストの大きさを算出する第2の算出部を備える請求項6に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  10.  前記光源部は、発光素子と、前記発光素子からの光が入射し、予め定められた方向の直線偏光を生成する第1の偏光部材と、を含み、前記第1の偏光部材で生成された前記直線偏光を、前記背面に向けた光として出射し、
     前記検出部は、前記背面から出てきた光の中から、前記直線偏光を遮光する第2の偏光部材と、前記第2の偏光部材を透過した前記散乱光を受光する受光部と、を含む請求項1に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  11.  前記光源部から前記背面に向けて出射され、前記検出面で反射された光を集光する光学系をさらに備え、
     前記検出部は、前記光学系で集光された前記光を遮光する遮光面を有する遮光部材と、前記遮光面の面積より大きい面積の受光面を有し、前記光学系で集光された前記光の進行方向から見て、前記遮光面より後方に位置し、前記光学系を通過した前記散乱光を前記受光面で受光する受光部と、を含む請求項1に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  12.  前記光学系は、前記光源部の光源像を前記遮光面に結像させる請求項11に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  13.  前記光源部から出射される光は、紫外線であり、
     前記光源部から出射された光が前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストに照射されることにより、蛍光の前記散乱光が発生する請求項10に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  14.  前記透明部材の前記背面は、前記光源部から前記背面に向けて出射された光が、前記透明部材に入る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第1の傾斜面と、前記検出面と平行に対向している対向面と、前記検出面で反射された光が前記透明部材から外に出る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第2の傾斜面と、を含み、
     前記検出部は、前記第2の傾斜面から出てきた前記散乱光を検出する請求項10に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  15.  前記第1の傾斜面から前記透明部材に入った光は、前記検出面と前記対向面とで複数回反射が繰り返されて、前記第2の傾斜面から前記透明部材の外に出る請求項14に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  16.  前記透明部材には、前記対向面が底となる凹部が前記背面に形成されている請求項15に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  17.  前記透明部材の前記背面は、前記光源部から前記背面に向けて出射された光が、前記透明部材に入る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第1の傾斜面と、前記検出面で一回反射された光が前記透明部材から外に出る面となり、前記検出面に対して傾きを有する第2の傾斜面と、を含み、
     前記受光部は、前記第2の傾斜面を介して、前記検出面及び前記散乱光を撮像する二次元イメージセンサーを含み、
     前記オイルミスト検出装置は、さらに、
     前記二次元イメージセンサーによって撮像された前記検出面及び前記散乱光の二次元画像を基にして、前記検出面に付着しているオイルミストの数及び各オイルミストの大きさを算出する第2の算出部を備える請求項10に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
  18.  前記光源部は、前記背面から前記透明部材に入射した光が、前記検出面で全反射される角度で、前記背面に向けて光を出射する請求項1~17のいずれか一項に記載のオイルミスト検出装置。
