一种液晶面板的配向膜制作方法,包括:注入包含液晶分子和液晶配向单体的液晶混合物以形成液晶盒;将液晶盒放入第一反应机台中,以接收电压、紫外线照射和温度,使液晶配向单体发生聚合反应;第一预设时间后将液晶盒移至第二反应机台,以接收电压和温度,继续发生聚合反应,并在第一基板与第二基板的内表面分别形成配向膜。

Description

液晶面板的配向膜制作方法 技术领域
本发明涉及液晶生产技术领域,特别涉及一种液晶面板的配向膜制作方法。
背景技术
为了满足液晶面板的大尺寸、广视角的发展需求,多象限垂直配向(Multi-Domain Vertical Alignment,MVA)模式受到了液晶面板制造商的广泛关注。MVA模式是通过液晶配向单体(Reactive Monomer,RM)在固化过程中,在基板内表面形成凸起物,凸起物呈预设角度进而形成配向膜,使得液晶偏向某一角度后静止。MVA模式具有视角广、成像品质高等优点。
如图1A与图1B所示,为在配向膜形成的过程示意图。图1A所示为第一反应机台,提供电压V、第一紫外线(UV1)光灯管照度及加热,使液晶配向单体14开始发生反应,向第一基板11或第二基板开始移动,呈凸起状以形成配向膜13,使液晶分子12发生偏转。通常UV1照光完成即停止加电压,且基板紧接着进行第二紫外线光(UV2)照射,如图1B所示的第二反应机台中,仅提供UV2且比第一UV1光偏弱,使剩余RM14反应完全。整个过程中由于一台UV1机台一次只能对一片基板进行曝光,使这一步骤成为产能的瓶颈,影响了配向膜的制作效率。
技术问题
有鉴于此,本发明提供一种液晶面板的配向膜制作方法,以解决现有技术中在第一反应机台内耗时长以致形成产能瓶颈的问题。
技术解决方案
一种液晶面板的配向膜制作方法,包括以下步骤:
在第一基板与第二基板之间注入液晶混合物,并进行贴盒,以形成液晶盒,所述液晶混合物包含液晶分子和液晶配向单体;
将所述液晶盒放入第一反应机台中,以接收所述第一反应机台所提供电压、紫外线照射、以及温度,使所述液晶配向单体发生聚合反应,其中,所述第一反应机台提供的电压为7V~50V、紫外线照射的照度为0.05~120毫瓦/平方厘米、以及温度为25℃~80℃;判断所述液晶盒在所述第一反应机台中的时间是否达到第一预设时间;

如果达到所述第一预设时间,则将所述液晶盒从所述第一反应机台移至第二反应机台中,以接收所述第二反应机台所提供电压、以及温度,使所述液晶配向单体继续发生聚合反应,其中,所述第二反应机台提供的电压为1V~50V、以及温度为10℃~100℃;
判断所述液晶盒在所述第二反应机台中的时间是否达到第二预设时间;以及

如果达到第二预设时间,则将所述液晶盒从所述第二反应机台中移出使所述第一基板与所述第二基板的内表面分别形成配向膜。

优选地,所述第二反应机台包括传送带,用于将所述液晶盒从第二反应机台的入口传送至出口,并在所述第二反应机台内完成所述聚合反应。

优选地,所述第二反应机台为多层炉结构,炉体内的层数为10~100层。
优选地,还包括如下步骤:判断所述液晶盒在所述第二反应机台中的时间是否达到第二预设时间;以及

优选地,还包括步骤:制备所述液晶混合物,其中所述液晶配向单体在所述液晶混合物中的比例为2000~5000PPM。

优选地,在所述进行贴盒的步骤中,还包括:

有益效果
相对于现有技术,本发明通过第二反应机台为液晶盒提供聚合反应的条件,缩短了在第一反应机台中的反应时间,避免了产能的瓶颈,进而缩短了制备时间。

实施例一
请参阅图2所示,为本发明实例中液晶面板的配向膜制作方法的流程示意图。
在步骤S201中,制备液晶混合物,所述液晶混合物包含液晶分子和液晶配向单体。

可以理解的是:所述液晶配向单体包括芳香族。所述液晶配向单体在所述液晶混合物中的比例为2000~5000PPM(百万分之一),在完成聚合反应后,可以达到最佳配向效果。

在步骤S202中,在第一基板与第二基板之间注入液晶混合物,并进行贴盒,以形成液晶盒。
可以理解的是,在第一基板与第二基板进行贴盒的过程中,还包括:将所述第一基板与第二基板错开一预定距离,至裸露所述第二基板的电压接触点,用于接收所述第一反应机台或第二反应机台所提供的电压。
在步骤S203中,将所述液晶盒放入第一反应机台中,以接受所述第一反应机台所提供电压、紫外线照射、以及温度,使所述液晶配向单体发生聚合反应。

可以理解的是,第一反应机台提供的电压为7~50V、紫外线的照度为0.05~120毫瓦/平方厘米、以及温度为25℃~80℃。
其中,第一反应机台提供的电压,通过连接上述电压接触点进行传输。
请参阅图1A所示,在本步骤中与背景技术中的反应过程相似,不同之处仅在于,反应时间缩短。在第一反应机台内,所述液晶盒中的液晶配向单体开始进行聚合反应,并在第一基板或第二基板上形成凸起。

在步骤S204中,判断所述液晶盒在所述第一反应机台中的时间是否达到第一预设时间。
可以理解的是:第一预设时间的设定,是基于在当前条件下,液晶配向单体发生聚合反应的比例达到预定值范围,如65~80%、60~70%、或75~90%,此处不再枚举。以65~80%为例,在当前的反应条件下,其对应的反应时间为50秒。

在步骤S205中,如果达到所述第一预设时间,则将所述液晶盒从所述第一反应机台移至所述第二反应机台中,以接收所述第二反应机台所提供电压、以及温度,使所述液晶配向单体继续发生聚合反应,并在所述第一基板与所述第二基板的内表面分别形成配向膜。
所述第二预设范围包括:第二反应机台提供的电压为1V~50V、以及温度为10℃~100℃。其中,第二反应机台提供的电压,通过连接上述电压接触点进行传输。

在温度和电压的作用下,可以保证在第一反应机台中的聚合反应持续发生,又可以使第二机台中多组液晶盒同时进行反应,多组液晶盒的反应单位生产时间也比较低。这样可有效的缩短在第一反应机台内的反应时间,使其不再成为整个制备过程的产能瓶颈。
请参阅图3A,所示为本发明第二反应机台的模拟示意图。第二反应机台31是一种新型的第二反应机台,其为多层炉结构,炉体内的层数可以设置为10~100层,更方便容纳来自于第一反应机台内的液晶盒。

请参阅图3B所示为图3A中任一层中的配向膜生成过程示意图。在第二反应机台内,液晶配向单体14继续发生聚合反应,并生成配向膜,使液晶分子12形成预倾角。

在步骤S206中,判断所述液晶盒在所述第二反应机台中的时间是否达到第二预设时间。
在步骤S207中,如果达到第二预设时间,则将所述液晶盒从所述第二反应机台中移出。
所述液晶配向单体发生聚合反应时,向第一基板或第二基板移动并形成凸起物;所述液晶分子在所述凸起物的作用下形成预倾角。

可以理解的是:第一反应机台由于需要提供紫外线照射,配合温度与电压以启动液晶配向单体开始聚合反应形成预倾角,因此,对于紫外线照度等要求较为严苛,应采用成本较高的高精度仪器。而第二反应机台仅需温度和电压,以维持所述聚合反应继续发生,避免游离的液晶配向单体造成面板点灯缺陷,而该步骤采用一般设备即可,成本较低。

本发明通过对第二反应机台的设计,减少了在第一反应机台内的时间,而第二反应机台的容量较大,单位生产时间很低,这样虽然增加了一个生产步骤,但实际的单位生产时间却得到了降低。避免了第一反应机台成为液晶面板的配向膜成为产能瓶颈,提高了液晶面板的整体制备效率。

实施例二
请参阅图4所示,为本发明实例中液晶面板的配向膜制作方法的流程示意图。
与实施例一的制作方法的差别在于,没有实施例一中的步骤S206和S207,取而代之的是增加了步骤S406。
在步骤S406中,按照预定速度使液晶盒在第二反应机台中移动。
请参阅图5,为第二反应机台的模拟示意图。可以理解的是:第一反应机台与实施例一是相同。不同之处在于,第二反应机台的构造不同,体现在:所述第二反应机台包括传送带,用于将所述液晶盒从第二反应机台的入口传送至出口,并在第二反应机台内所述液晶配向单体14将聚合反应进行完全,并使液晶分子12产生足够的预倾角、且无游离状态的液晶配向单体存在。
其中,传送带的长度范围为10米到100米。
其中,传送带的长度和所述预定速度的设置,目的是使所述液晶盒在第二反应机台中的反应时间达到实施例一种的第二预设时间。
可以理解的是:第一反应机台由于需要提供紫外线照射,配合温度与电压以启动液晶配向单体开始聚合反应,因此,对于紫外线照度等要求较为严苛,应采用成本较高的高精度仪器。而第二反应机台仅需温度和电压,以维持所述聚合反应继续发生,采用一般设备即可,成本较低。
本发明通过对第二反应机台的设计,减少了在第一反应机台内的时间,而第二反应机台的容量较大,且其也是传送机构的一部分,充分利用了之前传送机构功能单一的情况,这样使单位生产时间很低。避免了第一反应机台成为液晶面板的配向膜成为产能瓶颈,提高了液晶面板的整体制备效率。
如实施例一与实施例二所示,本发明给出了新的第二反应机台的设计和对应的配向膜制作方法。可以理解的是,基于上述两个实施例所衍生出来的,用温度和电压来替代紫外线照射的其他实施方式,皆在本发明的发明精髓之内。
实施例三
请参阅表1,所示为对本发明实施例所设计的第二反应机台及对应的配向膜制作方法的验证结果示意图。

实验中,采取第一反应机台的紫外线光(UV1)后不维持电压和维持电压分别进行温度实验,第二机台温度为50℃。 从结果可看出,当UV1时间相同时,UV1结束后若不加电压,而基板仍滞留于50℃的第二机台上15min,其预倾角(pre-tilt)与未滞留于第二机台的相同。说明未加电压情况下无法形成预倾角。
分别缩短UV1时间到165s和145s,UV1结束后,保持电压不变,当基板在50℃的第二机台上分别滞留15min和30min时,可得到比UV1时间未缩短时更大程度的预倾角。
因此,可通过适当时间温度的作用来替代部分UV1的作用,来得到相同的预倾角。
可以理解的是:虽然各实施例的侧重不同,但其设计思想是一致的,某个实施例中没有详述的部分,可以参见说明书全文的详细描述,不再赘述。
综上所述,虽然本发明已以优选实施例揭露如上,但上述优选实施例并非用以限制本发明,本领域的普通测试人员,在不脱离本发明的精神和范围内,均可作各种更动与润饰,因此本发明的保护范围以权利要求界定的范围为准。

  1. 一种液晶面板的配向膜制作方法,其中包括以下步骤:
