本発明の実施の形態に係る放電加工用電極線10の製造方法は、銅又は銅合金からなる芯材1の外周が亜鉛を含む被覆層2により被覆されている放電加工用電極線10の製造方法において、芯材1の外周に亜鉛めっき又は亜鉛合金めっきを1回施す工程と、めっきを施した芯材1を伸線する工程と、伸線後に、被覆層2が銅-亜鉛系合金であるε相のみからなる最外層2Bを有し、最外層2Bのビッカース硬度が200~300Hvとなる熱処理条件で熱処理を施す工程とを含むことを特徴とする。
本発明の実施形態によれば、以下の効果を奏する。
(1)芯材の外周に亜鉛被覆を有する放電加工用電極線において、放電加工の際、プーリーやダイス等のパスラインに発生する摩耗粉の発生を抑制し、かつ折れ脆さが改善された放電加工用電極線及びその製造方法を提供できる。
(2)1回のめっき工程で製造できるため、生産性に優れる放電加工用電極線及びその製造方法を提供できる。
芯材1としての黄銅線(線径:1.2mm)上に電解亜鉛めっき法により厚さ約10μmの亜鉛めっき層を形成した。亜鉛めっきを施した芯材1を線径が0.20mm(めっき層1.7μm)になるまで伸線した後、ボビン(F10:胴径100mm)に巻き取り、この状態で焼鈍を行ない、各10kgの放電加工用電極線を製造した。焼鈍条件は、表1に示す通りである。
製造した放電加工用電極線それぞれについて、下記の方法により、摩耗粉の発生抑制効果、及び折れ脆さの改善効果を評価した。評価結果を表1に示す。
製造した電極線をボビンに巻き替える際、走行線を羊毛フェルトで10分間はさみ、フェルトに付着した摩耗粉の量を目視で評価した。摩耗粉がほとんどない場合を○(合格)、摩耗粉が少量の場合を△(不合格)、摩耗粉量が多い場合を×(不合格)とした。
製造した電極線を放電加工機に線掛けして段取りする作業を20回行い、折れ曲がり断線のしにくさで評価した。断線が発生しなかった場合を○(合格)、1回以上の断線が発生した場合を×(不合格)とした。
下記の方法により放電加工用電極線を製造し、0.2%耐力の測定を行なった。図2Aは、各焼鈍時間及び焼鈍温度で作製した放電加工用電極線(芯材の線径:0.20mm)についての0.2%耐力の測定結果を示すグラフである。また、図2Bは、各焼鈍時間及び焼鈍温度で作製した放電加工用電極線(芯材の線径:0.25mm)についての0.2%耐力の測定結果を示すグラフである。なお、図2A~Bにおける25℃のプロットは、焼鈍しなかった放電加工用電極線の測定結果である。
下記の方法により放電加工用電極線を製造し、前述の薄膜法(X線入射角度:10°)によりX線回折強度の測定を行なった。図3A~Cは、各焼鈍時間及び焼鈍温度で作製した放電加工用電極線(芯材の線径:0.20mm)についてのX線回折強度の測定結果を示しており、図3Aは被覆層中のε相(CuZn5)の(0001)強度の測定結果であり、図3Bは被覆層中のγ相(Cu5Zn8)の(332)強度の測定結果であり、図3Cは被覆層中のη相(Zn)の(100)強度の測定結果である。なお、図3A~Cにおける25℃のプロットは、焼鈍しなかった放電加工用電極線の測定結果である。
10:電極線
Claims (8)
- 銅又は銅合金からなる芯材の外周が亜鉛を含む被覆層により被覆されており、
前記被覆層は、銅-亜鉛系合金であるε相のみからなる最外層を有し、
前記最外層は、ビッカース硬度が200~300Hvである放電加工用電極線。 - 0.2%耐力が985MPa以上である請求項1に記載の放電加工用電極線。
- 前記被覆層は、銅-亜鉛系合金であるγ相を含む内層を有する請求項1又は請求項2に記載の放電加工用電極線。
- 前記被覆層中のε相の(0001)X線回折強度が、前記被覆層中のγ相の(332)X線回折強度の2倍よりも大きい請求項3に記載の放電加工用電極線。
- 前記最外層は、ビッカース硬度が260~300Hvである請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の放電加工用電極線。
- 前記芯材は、黄銅からなる請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の放電加工用電極線。
- 銅又は銅合金からなる芯材の外周が亜鉛を含む被覆層により被覆されている放電加工用電極線の製造方法において、
前記芯材の外周に亜鉛めっき又は亜鉛合金めっきを1回施す工程と、
めっきを施した前記芯材を伸線する工程と、
伸線後に、前記被覆層が銅-亜鉛系合金であるε相のみからなる最外層を有し、前記最外層のビッカース硬度が200~300Hvとなる熱処理条件で熱処理を施す工程とを含む放電加工用電極線の製造方法。 - 前記熱処理条件は、熱処理温度100~120℃、熱処理時間3~24時間の範囲内である請求項7に記載の放電加工用電極線の製造方法。
