Definitions
- the present invention relates to a fiber reinforced composite material using a thermoplastic resin as a matrix resin and a method for producing the same.
- the present invention has an object to prevent the generation of voids in a fiber reinforced composite material using a thermoplastic resin as a matrix resin, which is molded using reinforced fibers, and to improve mechanical properties such as strength and elastic modulus. To do.
- thermoplastic polyurethane particles for filling are dispersed in an aqueous medium is applied to the fiber base, and the aqueous medium is removed by a drying treatment, so that the fibers between the fibers of the fiber base are removed.
- a resin-filled base in which the filling thermoplastic polyurethane is given a volume amount of 10 to 30% of the volume of the fiber base material, and the fiber base material is filled with the filling thermoplastic polyurethane.
- a method for producing a resin-laminated substrate comprising forming a material, overlaying a matrix resin layer on the surface of the resin-filled substrate, and molding the resin-filled substrate and the matrix resin together.
- Graph showing the bending load-displacement characteristics of a sheet-like fiber composite material composed of polypropylene as a matrix resin on a sheet-like carbon fiber substrate with polyurethane applied A graph showing a comparison of bending load-displacement characteristics of a sheet-like carbon fiber composite material composed of epoxy resin as a matrix resin and a sheet-like carbon fiber composite material composed of polypropylene as a matrix resin The graph which shows the bending load-displacement characteristic of the sheet-like fiber composite material which comprised polypropylene as a matrix resin to the sheet-like aramid fiber base material which gave polyurethane.
- the filling thermoplastic resin is easily spread between single yarns and between yarn bundles. It becomes easy to completely fill the space between them with the thermoplastic resin, and generation of voids can be prevented.
- one or a plurality of resin laminated base materials are laminated in the mold and heated under pressure to melt the matrix resin and adhere the laminated resin-filled base materials to an arbitrary shape. Mold to produce a fiber reinforced composite material. Also, a resin-filled base material and a film-like matrix resin are laminated, heated under pressure to melt the matrix resin, and the matrix resin and the resin-filled base material are bonded together, and at the same time, molded into an arbitrary shape to be a fiber reinforced composite It is good also as manufacturing material.
- a sheet-like resin laminated base material may be formed by processing such a string-shaped resin laminated base material into a woven fabric or a knitted fabric.
- the fabric weight is 175 g / m ⁇ 2 > of polypropylene with a fabric weight of 175 g / m ⁇ 2 > on the upper and lower surfaces.
- a PP) film was placed and pressed at 180 ° C. for 3 minutes at a pressure of 0.25 kg / cm 2 to be integrated to obtain a fiber-reinforced composite material.
- Five fiber-reinforced composite materials thus formed were stacked and heated and pressurized under the same conditions to obtain fiber-reinforced composite materials having a thickness of about 2.5 mm (Examples 1 to 15).
- a fiber base material to which PU was not applied (Comparative Examples 1, 3, and 5) was used, and a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin composite material manufactured with the same conditions and shape as those of the example was obtained.
- a room temperature curable epoxy resin (hereinafter sometimes referred to as “EP”) (Asahi Bond 702 manufactured by Asahi Bond Co., Ltd.) is used as a matrix resin on a fiber base material not provided with PU. It was impregnated and cured at room temperature under pressure for 1 week to obtain a fiber reinforced room temperature curable resin composite material manufactured under the same conditions and shape as in the examples (Comparative Examples 2, 4, and 6).
- these fiber-reinforced composite materials were cut into a width of 10 mm and a length of 80 mm to prepare test pieces, and a bending test was performed under the following measurement conditions in accordance with ASTM 790.
- FIG. 1 is a graph showing the bending load-displacement characteristics obtained by the bending test of a carbon fiber woven composite material using carbon fiber as a fiber base material and PP as a matrix resin.
- the bending load increases with respect to the displacement, the straight line portion (elastic range) from the origin of the bending load-displacement relationship becomes clear and wide, and the maximum load It is possible to bear the load even after the onset. That is, a fiber reinforced composite material using PP as a matrix resin exhibits plastic fracture behavior.
- the behavior is clarified by setting the amount of PU applied to a volume of 13% or more with respect to the volume of the fiber base material, and more prominent by setting the amount of PU applied to 23% or more. Therefore, the amount of PU applied is preferably in the range of 13 to 37%, more preferably in the range of 23 to 37% with respect to the volume of the carbon fiber substrate.
- the behavior is clarified by setting the amount of PU applied to a volume of 11% or more of the volume of the fiber base material, and more remarkable by setting the volume applied of 19% or more
- the amount of PU applied is preferably in the range of 11 to 32% by volume relative to the volume of the aramid fiber substrate, and more preferably in the range of 19 to 27%. This is because, when the amount of PU applied is 32% of the volume of the aramid fiber base material, the mechanical properties may deteriorate under some conditions.
- Table 3 is a table showing the bending load-displacement characteristics obtained by the above bending test of the glass fiber woven composite material using glass fiber as the fiber base material and PP or EP as the matrix resin.
- the numerical value of the column of PU is the volume provision rate of PU with respect to a fiber base material.
- FIG. 5 is a graph showing the bending load-displacement characteristics obtained by the bending test of a glass fiber woven composite material using glass fiber as a fiber base material and PP as a matrix resin.
- the amount of PU applied is clarified by setting the amount applied to a volume of 10% or more of the volume of the fiber base material, and more remarkable by setting the amount applied to a volume of 17% or more
- the amount of PU applied is preferably in the range of 10 to 35% of the volume of the glass fiber substrate, more preferably in the range of 10 to 30%, and still more preferably in the range of 17 to 30%. preferable. This is because, when the amount of PU applied is 35% of the volume of the glass fiber base material, the mechanical properties may deteriorate under some conditions.
- FIG. 6 is a graph showing a comparison of bending load-displacement characteristics when glass fiber is used as the fiber base and the matrix resin is EP and PP.
- the mechanical properties of the fiber reinforced composite material using PP with a predetermined amount of PU as a matrix resin are equivalent to those of the fiber reinforced composite material using an epoxy resin as a matrix resin.
- Carbon fiber made by Toray Industries, Inc. (Torayca T-300-12000 weight per unit: 0.80 g / m 0.45 cm 3 / m), aramid fiber made by Toray Industries, Inc./DuPont, Inc. (Kevlar 29-3300 dtx basis weight 0.33 g / m 0.23 cm 3 / m), glass fiber manufactured by Nitto Boseki Co., Ltd. (RS440 RR-520 basis weight 0.44 g / m 0.18 cm 3 / m) was used.
- Sectional area of the fiber substrate is 0.0075cm 2
- the fiber base material using the glass fiber is a 0.0030Cm 2 with carbon fibers .
- Each of these fiber bundle-like fiber base materials is a water-based polyurethane resin manufactured by Daiichi Kogyo Seiyaku Co., Ltd. as a filling thermoplastic resin (Superflex 130, no yellowing, ether type, average particle size 0.03 ⁇ m). Was impregnated with, dried at 180 ° C. for 2 minutes, and applied at a volume of 20% of the volume of the fiber substrate to form a resin-filled substrate.
- PP polypropylene
- the matrix resin is cooled, and the matrix resin and the resin-filled base material are bonded to each other, and carbon fiber, aramid fiber And the fiber reinforced composite material using glass fiber was obtained (Examples 16 to 18).
- the adhesion amount of PP is 60% of a fiber base material by volume ratio.
- a fiber reinforced composite material using PP as a matrix resin exhibits plastic fracture behavior.
- a fiber reinforced composite material using PP with a predetermined amount of PU as a matrix resin has almost the same breaking characteristics within the elastic limit as when EP is used as a matrix resin.
- the fiber reinforced composite material using EP as a matrix resin rapidly decreases in load (brittle fracture) when the maximum load is exceeded.
- the fiber reinforced composite material using PP as a matrix resin has a load that exceeds the elastic limit. It shows the plastic fracture mode of gradually rising. This indicates that the carbon fiber reinforced composite material provided with polyurethane is a material that is not easily destroyed and is an ideal structural material.
