  • it relates to highly transmissive glass.
  • High transmission glass with high visible light transmittance is in demand for various applications.
  • efficient use of visible light in architectural applications (interior materials, exterior materials), electronic equipment applications (light guide materials for planar light emitting devices, so-called light guide plates), and other industrial applications (such as cover glass for photovoltaic power generation modules)
  • methods of use such as increasing the light utilization efficiency by transmitting light to the light source, or using it as a material that provides high designability (high-class feeling) because of high transmission.
  • Iron ions contained as impurities. Iron ions are divalent (Fe 2+ ) and trivalent (Fe 3+ ) in the glass, but particularly problematic are Fe 2+ having a wide absorption at a wavelength of 490 to 780 nm.
  • Fe 3+ has an absorption band at a wavelength of 380 to 490 nm, but its influence is small because the extinction coefficient per unit concentration is one digit smaller than that of Fe 2+ . Description

 D=4×DF-(DE+4×DR)
  =4×[SiO]+8×[Al
  +2×[MgO]-1×[CaO]-2×[SrO]-2×[BaO]
  -8×[NaO]-12×[KO]-180  (1)
DF=1×([SiO]-45)+2×[Al
DE=-2×[MgO]+1×[CaO]+2×[SrO]+2×[BaO]
DR=+2×[NaO]+3×[KO]
[SiO]:SiO
[MgO]:MgO
[CaO]:CaO
[SrO]:SrO
[BaO]:BaO
[NaO]:NaO
