- FIGS. 2a to 2c A second embodiment is shown in FIGS. 2a to 2c. This differs from the first embodiment essentially by the configuration of the locking element. While in the first embodiment, a locking member 24 is used, which is designed as a separate component, in the second embodiment, a tab-like locking member 24 is used, which is integrally connected via a hinge portion 28 with the cover 12.
- the locking element In the starting position (see FIG. 2b), the locking element is folded up so that the hook 20 is freely accessible. After the attachment edge 15 of the fabric part 14 is threaded onto the hook, the locking element 24 is folded down (see the arrow P in Figure 2b), so that it snaps onto the hook and is locked there. As a result, the fastening edge 15 of the fabric part 14, threaded onto the hooks 20, is held between the locking element 24 and the cover 12.
- the clamping effect is assisted by an abutment 29 (see FIGS. 2 b and 2 c) which is arranged adjacent to the hooks 20.
- the locking element 24 may be in the form of individual tabs for each individual hook or in the form of a continuous bar extending across all the hooks.
- the hooks may in principle be arranged in a suitable configuration on the cover 12, for example in a row along two or more sides of the housing 14, or, if appropriate, also followed by a curved course of the housing 14.
- the fastening means are provided with a plurality of openings.
- the fastening means are formed here as a fastening strip 30, which is designed in one piece with the cover 12 and extends approximately perpendicular to the plane of the cover 12.
- a plurality of slot-shaped openings 32 are arranged at a distance next to each other.
- a plurality of tabs 34 are provided, which are each sewn back by means of a seam 36 on the fastening edge, that in each case a loop 38 is formed.
- Each loop 38 is inserted through one of the openings 32, and through the inserted portion of the loop 38, a locking member 39 extends.
- the locking member 39 extends here along the mounting bar 30 in the manner of a rod through all the loops 38 of the corresponding side of the fabric part 14th
- the locking element 39 prevents the loops 38 from being pulled through the openings 32 in the fastening strip 30.

- a thickening is formed on the side of the tabs 34 inserted through the openings 32 (see in particular FIG. 4 b), which prevents the tabs from being able to be pulled out of the openings 32.
- the fabric part 14 is fastened by attaching an additional locking fabric part 40, while on the opposite side the fastening with loops and locking rod known from the third embodiment is used.
- the fabric part 14 forming the housing can first be fastened to the cover 12 on the left side by means of the seam 40, then can be beaten around the gas generator 18 and the gas bag 16 and subsequently on the right side by means of the loops 38 and the locking rod 39 can be fixed to the mounting bar 30 and thus on the cover 12.
- FIG. 5 shows a fifth embodiment, which differs from the embodiment according to FIG. 4 in that the "thickening" on the outside of the fastening strip 30 is not formed by an additional piece of fabric, but by a turned-over end portion of the piece inserted through the openings 32 Tabs 34 of the fabric part 14.
