- the wavelength width of the peak wavelength in the emission spectrum is preferably about 30 nm or less. In this way, the emission spectrum having a narrow spectrum of the peak wavelength in the emission spectrum has a lower ratio of including a wavelength band of a color other than the red wavelength band intended to emit light. Is more clearly separated from the other wavelength bands. For this reason, LED6 with wide color reproducibility can be obtained.

That is, the points P4 to P6 shown in FIG. 6B indicate the primary light emitted from the pulse-driven blue LED chip 7B, the KSF phosphor (red), and the Eu activated ⁇ -type SiAlON phosphor ( The chromaticity is a mixture of secondary light emitted from green.
- Point P4 is the primary light when the blue LED chip 7B is pulse-driven at a duty ratio of 50%, and the secondary light emitted from the KSF phosphor (red) and Eu-activated ⁇ -type SiAlON phosphor (green). It is shown that the chromaticity (x, y) of the white light mixed with is (0.265, 0.222).

- the white light chromaticity (x, y) described above It is not limited to the white light chromaticity (x, y) described above. Further, since the amount of change in chromaticity when the duty ratio is changed also varies depending on the chromaticity, IF value, ambient temperature, and the like, the chromaticity (x, y) of white light described above is an example.
