Definitions

  • the object of the present utility model is a device that, in case of being suspended from a harness, allows to release the pressure suffered by the legs of the injured person through the harness fixing straps that acts with tourniquet effect.
  • the use of the harness has been generalized as a security system in different areas of the labor world, such as construction, tree pruning, the wind sector and, in general, any work that is performed at height and that carries the risk of suffering any type of fall. Although its use is becoming widespread, unfortunately, deaths due to falls are still one of the main causes of death in the workplace. In general, the reasons for these deaths are varied, but they correspond to an inadequate, badly used or directly non-existent material.
  • the standard safety device for work at height is the harness.

  • Suspension trauma also known as harness syndrome or orthostatic syndrome, is a set of symptoms that appear when a person is hanging for a brief period of a harness and there is a combination of two factors: immobility and suspension.
  • Immobility can occur both in people who are unconscious, as in people who reach exhaustion, which ends up causing the person to be suspended for a period of time that the longer it lasts, the more damage it will cause in the victim.
