Abstract
Description
例えば、特許文献1には、少なくとも底板および側板を有して内部にめっき液が注入される水槽と、前記水槽のめっき液内で互いに対向して水平に配置される陰極板および陽極板とを備えた電気めっき試験器であって、陰極板および陽極板のうち被めっき物となる一方の板を他方の板の下側に配置し、水槽の側板には、陰極板および陽極板をそれぞれ水槽内に挿入するための開口を設けると共に、水槽には開口を閉塞するための閉塞板を着脱可能に設けたことを特徴とする電気めっき試験器が開示されている。この水槽の側板には、陰極板および陽極板のうち少なくともいずれかの板を水平状態に保持するための複数の溝部が設けられており、陰極板と陽極板の間隔を調整できるようになっている。
また、本発明は、めっき物の生成過程を観察可能なめっき装置を提供することを第2の課題とする。
このような構成によれば、被めっき物(W)を保持する保持部材(2)とめっき液を貯留する貫通部(45)を有するスペーサ(4)と陽極を有する陽極部材(6)とを第1、第2シール部材(3,5)を介して単に積層するだけでめっき装置(1)を容易に構成することができる。そのため、例えば特許文献1に記載のめっき装置と比較して、複雑な構造の水槽が不要になるので、めっき装置(1)の簡素化と小型化を図ることができる。また、本発明によれば、スペーサ(4)を厚さ寸法の異なるものに交換することで陰極と陽極の間隔を容易に調節することができる。
このような構成によれば、第2シール部材(5)の内側で陽極側導電層(43)が陽極層(62)に接続され、第2シール部材(5)の外側で陽極側導電層(43)が電源装置(PW)に接続されるので、スペーサ(4)と陽極部材(6)の間の水密性を保ちながら陽極層(62)に電気を供給することができる。
このような構成によれば、めっき中に窓部(64)を通して被めっき物(W)に生成されるめっき自体を観察(又は観測)することができる。
このような構成によれば、例えば観察に用いる顕微鏡(M)を陰極に近づけて配置することができる。その結果、めっき中における被めっき物(W)の状態を好適に観察することができる。
このような構成によれば、窓部(64)を透過する光の屈折や散乱を好適に抑制することができるので、窓部(64)の影響を軽減してめっき中における被めっき物(W)の状態を好適に観察することができる。
このような構成によれば、陽極部材本体部(61)は、窓部(64)の周囲に窓部(64)に向かって下り傾斜となるテーパ部(64a)を有するので、例えば顕微鏡(M)を用いて被めっき物(W)を観察する場合に、陽極部材(6)に顕微鏡(M)が接触することを抑制できる。
このような構成によれば、貫通部(45)に貯留されるめっき液の厚さ(深さ)が小さくなるので、例えばめっき液が着色されていても、被めっき物(W)の状態を観察することができる。また、極間距離を著しく近づけることにより、イオン濃度の拡散勾配を急峻にすることができる。
このような構成によれば、スペーサ(4)と保持部材(2)の間の水密性を保ちながら被めっき物(W)に電気を供給することができる。
このような構成によれば、スペーサ(4)と陽極部材(6)との間の水密性を保ちながら参照極層(63)を利用して陽極の電位を計測することができる。
このような構成によれば、めっき液供給路(27)から貫通部(45)にめっき液を供給し、貫通部(45)からめっき液排出路(28)にめっき液を排出することで、貫通部(45)内のめっき液を好適な状態に維持することができる。
このような構成によれば、本発明に係るめっき装置(1)で無電解めっきを行うことができるとともに、電極間の電位差を計測することができる。
このような構成によれば、例えば、複数の陽極層(62B)に異なる反応基を修飾することで、めっき装置(1)をセンサ装置として利用することができる。
図1、図2に示すように、めっき装置1は、被めっき物Wにめっきを施す装置であり、主な構成要素として、下側から順に、保持部材2と、第1シール部材3と、スペーサ4と、第2シール部材5と、陽極部材6と、を備えている。また、めっき装置1は、保持部材2の下側に、陰極側通電部材7と、絶縁部材8と、を備えている。さらに、めっき装置1は、陽極部材6の上側に、陽極側通電部材9を備えている。
図10は、めっき装置を用いたセンサ装置におけるスペーサの平面図である。図11は、めっき装置を用いたセンサ装置における陽極部材の底面図である。
