  • Patent Document 1 when coal is oxygen-burned by a coal fired boiler, in addition to carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) as a main component in the exhaust gas, nitrogen oxides derived from coal raw materials (NO x ), Impurities such as sulfur oxide (SO x ), hydrogen chloride (HCl), mercury (Hg), and dust are included.
  • NO x coal raw materials
  • Impurities such as sulfur oxide (SO x ), hydrogen chloride (HCl), mercury (Hg), and dust are included.
  • Patent Document 1 in order to remove sulfur (S) derived from coal raw materials mixed in exhaust gas from a coal fired boiler or the like that performs oxyfuel combustion, a spray tower method or packing used in a conventional air fired boiler or the like is used. It has been carried out to remove sulfur oxides (SO x ) by providing a desulfurization apparatus called a wet type composed of a tower system or the like.

  • hydrogen chloride (HCl) dissolves in water to become hydrochloric acid. Sulfur oxide and hydrogen chloride can be removed by contact with water.
  • nitrogen oxides (NO x ) that are the impurities
  • nitrogen dioxide (NO 2 ) is dissolved in water and removed as nitric acid by contacting with water.
  • oxygen (O 2 ) is reduced in the exhaust gas from the coal fired boiler, most of the nitrogen (N) exists in the form of nitric oxide (NO). NO) is insoluble in water and cannot be removed by contact with water.
  • the sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid have a problem of corroding the equipment of the exhaust gas treatment apparatus, and the trace metal, mercury, damages the low-temperature aluminum member of the heat exchanger. Therefore, it is preferable to remove these impurities at an early stage. Further, when the impurities are mixed in the exhaust gas, the purity of carbon dioxide is lowered, so that it is difficult to liquefy carbon dioxide by compression / cooling, and there is a problem that the apparatus is enlarged. Furthermore, if carbon dioxide is liquefied and stored in the ground, if sulfur oxides are mixed in, the sulfur oxides may react with the calcium in the ground and cause problems in storage sealing. There are concerns. Accordingly, it is very important to remove impurities in the exhaust gas in a system that generates exhaust gas mainly composed of carbon dioxide and disposes of the carbon dioxide, such as a coal fired boiler that performs oxyfuel combustion.
