Description

非接触電力伝送用の給電装置および受電装置
 本発明は、機器に対し電力を非接触で伝送する給電装置および受電装置に関する。
 従来、この種の給電装置および受電装置としては、例えば、特許文献1に記載のものがある。この給電装置は、交流電流が流れると磁束を発生する一次コイルと、一次コイルを覆うカバーと、カバー上の物体(異物や受電機器)の温度を検出するシート状感温センサと、を備えている。これにより、電力伝送中に感温センサを用いて、カバー上における昇温を検出して、カバー上に物体が存在することを検出する。
 上記給電装置において、コイルは、電磁界を通過する支持台であって絶縁材料で作られた支持台上に配置されており、カバーは、コイルを覆うように支持台に取り付けられる。感温センサは、コイルの上方であってかつカバーの内側に配置される。他にも、感温センサは、カバーの天面上や、カバーの内部(つまり、天面と裏面の間)に配置可能である。受電装置もまた、給電装置と同様に感温センサを設けることが可能である。

 しかしながら、給電装置等では、感温センサの位置によっては、カバーに物体が載った時に、この物体の温度を的確に検出できない場合があるという問題点があった。
 それゆえに、本発明の目的は、カバー上の物体の温度を的確に検出可能な給電装置および受電装置を提供することである。
 上記目的を達成するために、本発明の一局面は、受電装置に非接触で電力を伝送する給電装置および受電装置であって、カバーと、前記カバーにより覆われ、前記カバーに対し所定方向に設けられたコイルと、前記カバー上の物体温度を検出する感温手段と、を備えている。
 前記カバー表面から前記感温手段までの前記所定方向に沿う距離をL[m]、前記感温手段による検温対象となる物体の温度をT0[K]、前記感温手段により検出すべき温度をT1[K]、前記カバーの熱伝導率をλ[W/(m・K)]、とすると、Lは、次式(1)を満たしている。

 上記局面によれば、前記カバー表面から前記感温手段までの距離Lを上式(1)で規定される数値となるよう設計することで、カバー上の物体の温度を的確に検出可能となる。

《実施形態》
 以下、図面を参照して、本発明の一実施形態に係る給電装置について説明する。
《非接触電力伝送システムの構成》
 図1において、非接触電力伝送システム1は、給電装置3を備えている。給電装置3は、スマートフォンやタブレット端末等の受電装置5を充電するために、大略的に、アダプタ31と、伝送系部品群33と、一次コイル35と、一次側コントローラ37と、感温手段39と、を含んでいる。ここで、部品群33、コイル35およびコントローラ37は、図2Aや図2Bに点線で示すように、ベース311に配置され、カバー313により覆われる。それに対し、受電装置5は、図1に示すように、二次コイル51と、伝送系部品群53と、二次側コントローラ55と、を含んでいる。以下、各構成の詳細や動作について説明する。
 給電装置3のカバー313上に受電装置5が載置されると、給電装置3から受電装置5へと電力伝送が開始される。電力伝送時、アダプタ31は、商用電源からの交流電圧(例えば100V)を伝送系部品群33に供給する。伝送系部品群33は、整流回路、平滑回路及びインバータ回路等を構成する。整流回路および平滑回路は、入力交流電圧を直流電圧に変換する。インバータ回路は、平滑回路の出力直流電圧をスイッチング等することで、所定周波数(例えば、数十kHz)を有する交流電圧を生成する。このような交流電圧がコイル35に印加されると、コイル35は、交流磁界を発生する。以上の動作は、コントローラ37により制御される。
 一方、受電装置5は、給電装置3のカバー313上に載置されることで、二次コイル51がカバー313を挟んで一次コイル35上に位置することになる。したがって、コイル35で生じた交流磁界はコイル51と鎖交すると共に、コイル51の両端には交流電圧が誘起され、伝送系部品群53に供給される。伝送系部品群53は、整流回路等を含んでおり、誘起電圧により流れる電流を整流して、受電装置5の外部に配置されたバッテリー57に供給される。これにより、バッテリー57は充電される。以上の動作は、コントローラ55により制御される。
《過熱検知》
 ところで、カバー313上には、受電装置5が載置されるだけでなく、金属異物が載ってしまうことがある。これら物体(受電装置5や金属異物)の異常発熱を検知するために、給電装置3には、感温手段39が備わっている。
 感温手段39として、典型的であるのは、負の温度係数を有するセラミックサーミスタ(以下、NTCサーミスタという)である。ここで、物体の過熱に対し速く反応するために、感温手段39は、熱容量の小さい小型(例えば、JIS規格に記載の1005型)のNTCサーミスタであることが好ましい。ここで、NTCサーミスタのサイズが1005型の場合、Y軸方向の寸法は1.0mmであり、X軸方向の寸法は0.5mmである。また、Z軸方向の寸法はJIS規格にて定められている訳では無いが、例えば0.25mmである。ここで、これら寸法はいずれも設計目標値であって、必ずしも正確に1.0mm、0.5mmおよび0.25mmとなるわけではない。つまり、これら寸法はいずれも公差を持っている。このような感温手段39は、カバー313表面から一次コイル35の上端の間に設けられる。図2A~図2Cには、感温手段39がカバー313内に埋め込まれる例が示されている。
 また、カバー313上のどこに物体が載るかが不明であるため、図2Cにて点線で示すように、複数の感温手段39、つまり複数のNTCサーミスタを数珠つなぎにして、複数の感温手段39のそれぞれをカバー313内の異なる複数個所に埋め込むことが好ましい。これによって、カバー313上の複数個所での温度が検出可能になる。
 上記の感温手段39は、例えば、図示しない固定抵抗が直列に接続されている。このような回路には、図示しない定電圧回路により生成された定電圧が供給される。この回路は、固定抵抗との分圧電位を温度情報としてコントローラ37に出力する。コントローラ37は、入力温度情報が所定温度を超えている場合には、一次コイル35への電力供給を停止する等する。
 しかしながら、一次コイル35は、電力供給により発熱する。つまり、カバー313上に受電装置5や金属異物が存在していなくとも、カバー313は高温になる。したがって、カバー313の表面(換言すると、受電装置5の載置面)から起算して適切な距離に感温手段39を設けなければ、コントローラ37は、カバー313上の物体の温度を的確に検出できない可能性がある。また、カバー313表面から感温手段39までの距離が離れすぎていると、コントローラ37物体の温度を的確に検出できない。
 上記課題を解決すべく、本件発明者は、カバー313表面から感温手段39までの上下方向に沿う距離Lを導出する式を見出した。具体的には、図3に示すように、カバー313の表面に載る物体の温度をT0[K]とし、コントローラ37で検出したい物体の温度をT1[K](但し、T1<T0)とする。カバー313の熱伝導率をλ[W/(m・K)]とする。この時、距離L[m]は、次式(1)を満たす数値に設計される。つまり、感温手段39は、カバー313の表面から距離L[m]だけ離れた位置に設けられる。

《第一実施例》
 検出対象となる物体は5[cm]四方のアルミ片とする。また、カバー313の材質を、熱伝導率λが0.25[W/(m・K)]のエポキシ樹脂とする。このカバー313上に上記アルミ片を置くと、25[℃]で無風の条件では、このアルミ片の温度T0は150[℃]まで上昇した。給電装置3の安全性等を考慮した場合、例えば130[℃]の温度T1(温度差(T0-T1)は20℃)で感温手段39がアルミ片の存在を検出することが望ましい。この場合、距離Lが0.00248[m]以下となるよう、給電装置3は設計される。なお、式(1)においてT0,T1は絶対温度で代入されるが、文章中や表中では分かり易さの観点から、T0,T1は、絶対温度ではなく、セルシウス度で記載されている。
 本件発明者は、実際に、以下の表1に示す六通りの距離Lで、感温手段39としての1005型NTCサーミスタをエポキシ樹脂製のカバー313に埋め込んだ回路(表1では、評価サンプルNo.1~No.6と記されている)を準備した。サンプルNo.1に関し距離Lは50[mm]で、サンプルNo.2の距離Lは20[mm]とした。サンプルNo.3~No.6に関しては表1に記載の通りである。

 発明者は、各サンプルのカバー313上に検出対象となるアルミ片を載置し、該サンプルにおいて飽和状態になった感温手段39の抵抗値から温度T1を測定した。距離L,温度T1以外のパラメータT0,λは上記の通りである。また、測定結果は表1に示す通りであり、サンプルNo.1~No.4では、温度T1は130[℃]未満であり、温度差(T0-T1)は20[℃]超であった。このように距離Lが式(1)を満たさない場合には、カバー313上の物体の温度を的確に検出できていないことが分かる。逆に、サンプルNo.5およびNo.6では、温度T1は130[℃]以上で、温度差(T0-T1)は20[℃]以下であった。このように距離Lが式(1)を満たす場合には、設計目標通り、カバー313上の物体の温度を的確に検出できることが分かる。
《第一実施例の効果》
 以上のように、給電装置3における、カバー313の表面から感温手段39までの距離Lを式(1)に基づき設計すると、設計目標と概ね合致するように的確にカバー313上の物体の温度を検出できる。したがって、λ、T1、T0という設計条件が与えられれば、感温手段39を埋め込んだカバー313の試作および評価を繰り返すことなく、適切な距離Lを求めることが可能となる。これにより、給電装置3の設計効率が向上する。
《第二実施例》
 発明者はさらに、カバー313の材質を、エポキシ樹脂に代えて、熱伝導率λが0.17[W/(m・K)]のガラスで作製した。この場合も、上記同様に、5[cm]四方のアルミ片を検出対象とすると、T0は150[℃]となる。また、温度T1を130[℃](温度差(T0-T1)は20℃)と設定すると、距離Lは前式(1)から0.00169[m]以下となる。
 発明者は、以下の表2に示す六通りの距離Lで、感温手段39としての1005型NTCサーミスタをガラス製のカバー313に埋め込んだ回路(表2では、評価サンプルNo.7~No.12と記されている)を準備した。サンプルNo.7に関し距離Lは10[mm]で、サンプルNo.8の距離Lは5[mm]とした。サンプルNo.9~No.12に関しては表2に記載の通りである。

 発明者は、第一実施例の場合と同様にして、温度T1を測定した。測定結果は表2に示す通りであり、サンプルNo.7~No.10では、温度T1は130[℃]未満であった。第二実施例でも、距離Lが式(1)を満たさなければ、カバー313上の物体の温度を的確に検出できなかった。逆に、サンプルNo.11およびNo.12では、温度T1は130[℃]以上であり、第二実施例でも、距離Lが式(1)を満たす場合には、設計目標通り、カバー313上の物体の温度を的確に検出できた。換言すると、第二実施例でも第一実施例と同様の効果を奏することが分かった。
《付記》
 上記実施形態では、給電装置3のカバー313に感温手段39を設ける場合における距離Lについて説明した。しかし、これに限らず、受電装置5側のカバーから感温手段39までの距離Lを数(1)に基づき定めても構わない。
 上記実施形態では、給電装置3は、スマートフォンやタブレット端末等の充電用途向けとして説明した。しかし、これに限らず、給電装置3は、電気自動車や、シェーバー等の民生機器の充電用途であっても構わない。
 また、上記実施形態では、感温手段39はNTCサーミスタであると説明した。しかし、これに限らず、正の温度係数を有するPTCサーミスタであっても構わない。また、サーミスタに関しては、セラミックサーミスタだけでなく、高分子材料から作製されるサーミスタであっても構わない。
 また、NTCサーミスタは、1005型に限らず、3225型、3216型、2012型、1608型、0603型、0402型でも構わない。これらに関し、X軸、Y軸およびZ軸方向への寸法は下記の表3に記載の通りである。

 本発明に係る給電装置および受電装置は、カバー上の物体の過熱を的確に検知可能であり、スマートフォン、タブレット端末または電気自動車等の非接触充電システムに好適である。

Claims (4)

  1.  受電装置に非接触で電力を供給する給電装置であって、
     カバーと、
     前記カバーによって覆われ、前記カバーに対し所定方向に設けられたコイルと、
     前記カバー上の物体温度を検出する感温手段と、を備え、
     前記カバー表面から前記感温手段までの前記所定方向に沿う距離をL[m]、前記感温手段による検温対象となる物体の温度をT0[K]、前記感温手段により検出すべき温度をT1[K]、前記カバーの熱伝導率をλ[W/(m・K)]、とすると、

  2.  前記感温手段は、複数のサーミスタを数珠つなぎにしたものである、請求項1に記載の給電装置。

  4.  給電装置から非接触で伝送されてくる電力を受電する受電装置であって、
     カバーと、
     前記カバーによって覆われ、前記カバーに対し所定方向に設けられたコイルと、
     前記カバー上の物体温度を検出する感温手段と、を備え、
     前記カバー表面から前記感温手段までの前記所定方向に沿う距離をL[m]、前記感温手段による検温対象となる物体の温度をT0[K]、前記感温手段により検出すべき温度をT1[K]、前記カバーの熱伝導率をλ[W/(m・K)]、とすると、
