Definitions
- the present invention relates to a reactive ionic liquid, ion-immobilized metal oxide particles using the same, an ion-immobilized elastomer, and a transducer.
- the transducer may be an actuator that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy, a sensor, a power generating element, or a speaker that converts acoustic energy to electrical energy, a microphone, or the like.
- Polymeric materials such as dielectric elastomers are useful for constructing a flexible, compact and lightweight transducer.
- an actuator can be configured by arranging a pair of electrodes on both sides in the thickness direction of a dielectric film made of dielectric elastomer.
- increasing the voltage applied between the electrodes increases the electrostatic attraction between the electrodes. Therefore, the dielectric film sandwiched between the electrodes is compressed from the thickness direction, and the thickness of the dielectric film becomes thin. As the film thickness becomes thinner, the dielectric film elongates in a direction parallel to the electrode surface.
- the voltage applied between the electrodes is reduced, the electrostatic attraction between the electrodes is reduced. For this reason, the compressive force on the dielectric film in the thickness direction is reduced, and the elastic restoring force of the dielectric film increases the film thickness. As the film thickness increases, the dielectric film contracts in a direction parallel to the electrode surface.
- the actuator drives the driven member by stretching and contracting the dielectric film.
- the dielectric film desirably has the following characteristics. That is, when applying a voltage, the dielectric constant is large so that a large amount of electric charge can be stored inside the dielectric film, excellent in resistance to breakdown so as to withstand a high electric field, and flexible so as to be repeatedly stretchable. It is high, etc. Therefore, as the material of the dielectric film, silicone rubber having excellent resistance to dielectric breakdown, acrylic rubber having a large dielectric constant, nitrile rubber, etc. are often used (see, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2).
- silicone rubber has a siloxane bond as a skeleton. Therefore, the electrical resistance is large. Therefore, the dielectric film made of silicone rubber is unlikely to be broken down even if a large voltage is applied.
- the polarity of silicone rubber is small. That is, the relative dielectric constant is small. For this reason, when the actuator is configured using a dielectric film made of silicone rubber, the electrostatic attraction to the applied voltage is small. Therefore, due to the practical voltage, desired force and displacement can not be obtained.
- the dielectric constant of acrylic rubber and nitrile rubber is larger than the dielectric constant of silicone rubber.
- the electrostatic attractive force with respect to the applied voltage is larger than that in the case where silicone rubber is used.
- the electrical resistance of acrylic rubber or the like is smaller than that of silicone rubber. Therefore, the dielectric film is prone to dielectric breakdown.
- a voltage is applied, a current flows in the dielectric film (so-called leakage current), and charge is unlikely to be accumulated near the interface between the dielectric film and the electrode. Therefore, although the relative dielectric constant is large, the electrostatic attraction becomes small, and a sufficient amount of force and displacement can not be obtained.
- the Joule heat generated may destroy the dielectric film.
- Patent Document 3 an ion-containing layer containing an elastomer and an ion component and a high-resistance layer containing an elastomer and having a volume resistivity larger than that of the ion-containing layer are laminated as a configuration of a dielectric film. Things have been proposed.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned circumstances, and the problem to be solved by the present invention is included in an ion-containing layer formed in contact with a high resistance layer as a dielectric layer of a transducer, and at the time of voltage application.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a reactive ionic liquid as an ionic component capable of suppressing the transfer to the high resistance layer.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide ion-immobilized metal oxide particles, ion-immobilized elastomers and transducers using the same.
- the reactive ionic liquid concerning the present invention makes it a gist to consist of an ion pair of the following anion ingredient and a cation ingredient.
- Cation component (a1) is an imidazolium cation or quaternary ammonium cation
- (a2) an alkoxysilyl group or a phosphonate group as a reactive group
- R 1 to R 11 each represent a linear or branched alkyl group.
- the alkyl group of R 1 to R 11 may contain a hetero atom.
- Some or all of a plurality of R 4 may be an alkyl group different from others.
- the ion-immobilized metal oxide particle according to the present invention is formed by the reaction of the reactive group possessed by the cation component of the above-mentioned reactive ionic liquid and the hydroxyl group contained in the metal oxide particle.
- the gist is that the cationic component of the ionic liquid is immobilized on the metal oxide particle through the P—O bond.
- the hydroxyl group of the ion-immobilized metal oxide particles described above is reacted with the functional group of the elastomer having a functional group capable of reacting with the hydroxyl group to form a bond.
- the gist of the present invention is that the ion-immobilized metal oxide particles are immobilized on an elastomer.
- a transducer includes a high resistance dielectric layer containing an elastomer and having a volume resistivity of 10 13 ⁇ ⁇ cm or more, and a pair of electrodes disposed on both sides of the high resistance dielectric layer.
- the gist of the present invention is that an ion-immobilized layer formed of the above-described ion-immobilized elastomer is interposed between the high-resistance dielectric layer and the positive electrode.
- the cationic component since the cationic component has an alkoxysilyl group or a phosphonate group as a reactive group, the cationic component can be immobilized on the metal oxide particle having a hydroxyl group.
- the ion-immobilized metal oxide particles in which the cation component of this reactive ionic liquid is immobilized is an elastomer having a functional group capable of reacting with a hydroxyl group, and the hydroxyl group of the ion-immobilized metal oxide particles and the functional group of the elastomer. It can be immobilized by reaction. Thereby, the cation component of the reactive ionic liquid can be immobilized on the elastomer via the metal oxide particles.
- the ion-containing layer formed in contact with the high resistance layer as the dielectric layer of the transducer is formed of this elastomer, It is possible to suppress migration of ions of the ion-containing layer to the high resistance layer. This can suppress the dielectric breakdown of the high resistance layer.
- FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional schematic view of a transducer according to an embodiment of the present invention. It is a cross-sectional schematic diagram at the time of the voltage application of the transducer of FIG. Fig. 2 shows a cross-sectional view of an actuator mounted on a measuring device.
- the reactive ionic liquid according to the present invention is composed of an ion pair of a specific cationic component and a specific anionic component.
- R is an alkyl group or an aryl group.
- the cationic component having an alkoxysilyl group (—Si (OR) 3 ) easily reacts with a compound having a hydroxyl group or the like to form a Si—O bond.
- the cationic component of the reactive ionic liquid is an imidazolium cation or a quaternary ammonium cation, and may have the above-mentioned reactive group.
- the reactive ionic liquid is excellent in the reactivity with a hydroxyl group by having such a cation component. The higher the reactivity, the higher the proportion that can be immobilized on a compound having a hydroxyl group such as metal oxide particles.

For example, it is desirable to be 5 parts by mass or more and 50 parts by mass or less with respect to 100 parts by mass of the elastomer. If the amount is less than 5 parts by mass, the effect of increasing the electrical resistance is small. On the other hand, if it exceeds 50 parts by mass, the high resistance dielectric layer 12 may become hard and the flexibility may be impaired.
- the content of the ion-immobilized metal oxide particles in the ion-immobilized layer 18 is desirably 1 part by mass or more and 10 parts by mass or less with respect to 100 parts by mass of the elastomer.
- the content of the ion-immobilized metal oxide particles is less than 1 part by mass, the effect of increasing the electrostatic attraction is small.
- the content of the ion-immobilized metal oxide particles exceeds 10 parts by mass, the effect of increasing the electrostatic attraction is saturated and so-called leakage current increases.
- the pair of electrodes 14 and 16 be able to expand and contract following the deformation of the high resistance dielectric layer 12 and the ion fixing layer 18. As a result, deformation of the high-resistance dielectric layer 12 and the ion immobilization layer 18 is less likely to be restricted by the electrodes 14 and 16, so that the transducer 10 can easily obtain a desired output.
- the material of the electrodes 14 and 16 is not particularly limited.
- it can be formed from a conductive paste obtained by mixing a conductive material with a binder such as oil or elastomer, or a conductive paint.

- the electrodes may be formed by knitting carbon fibers or metal fibers in a mesh shape.
- the transducer 10 can be manufactured, for example, as follows. First, a liquid mixture for forming the ion immobilization layer 18 is applied on a substrate, and the coating is heated and crosslinked to form the ion immobilization layer 18. Similarly, a solution in which a material for forming the high resistance dielectric layer 12 is dissolved in a predetermined solvent is applied on a substrate, and the coating is formed by heating and crosslinking. Next, the formed high-resistance dielectric layer 12 and the ion fixing layer 18 are bonded to each other, and the base material is peeled off to fabricate a laminate of the high-resistance dielectric layer 12 and the ion fixing layer 18. And the transducer 10 can be manufactured by sticking the electrodes 14 and 16 on front and back both surfaces of the produced laminated body.
- the electric charge stored in the high resistance dielectric layer 12 is hard to move in the high resistance dielectric layer 12 because the electric resistance of the high resistance dielectric layer 12 is large. Therefore, so-called leakage current is small, and Joule heat due to it is also less likely to occur. Then, in the ion immobilization layer 18, the cation component 20b having the same polarity as that of the adjacent plus electrode 16 is immobilized to the elastomer 18a through the metal oxide particles, so the high resistance dielectric layer 12 side (plus electrode 16 and It is difficult to move in the opposite direction).
- the reactive ionic liquid as the ion component, the ion component is fixed to the elastomer 18 a of the ion fixing layer 18 via the metal oxide particles, and hence the ion fixing layer 18 to the high resistance dielectric layer 12 Movement of ingredients is suppressed.
- the decrease in the electrical resistance of the high resistance dielectric layer 12 is suppressed, and the high resistance dielectric layer 12 is unlikely to deteriorate with time, and high resistance to dielectric breakdown can be maintained.
- the ion fixing layer 18 is interposed between the high resistance dielectric layer 12 and the plus electrode 16, but the minus electrode 14 is in direct contact with the high resistance dielectric layer 12. No other dielectric layer is interposed between the high resistance dielectric layer 12 and the negative electrode 14.

->CF3CO2
-、CH3SO3
->C6H5SO3
->CF3SO3
