図7は、エンジンフードの各部分の位置と、エンジン室内の各装置の位置との対応関係を説明するための図である。図7は、図2のエンジンフード14付近を拡大し、エンジンフード14を構成する面と面との境界線を二点鎖線で示したものである。また、エンジンフード14の複数の境界線同士が交わる点において、図3のように符号を付している。さらに、凸部上面142の車両前後方向における前端にあたる境界線の端点(角にあたる点)を点L,Mとし、凸部傾斜面143の車両前後方向における前端にあたる境界線の端点(角にあたる点)を点T,Uとしている。なお、図2に示すように、凸部上面142と凸部傾斜面143の前端の角の部分は実際には丸みを帯びているが、説明の便宜上、これらの角は角張っているものとして、以下の内容を説明する。
本実施形態に係るブルドーザ1は、以下の特徴を有する。
(1)エンジン室8の容量を大きくするためにエンジンフード14の高さを高くしつつ、エンジンフード14の後端に、後方に向かって下るように傾斜する第1傾斜面147、第2傾斜面148が設けられる。さらに、キャブ7の最前面71に取り付けられた窓74は、第1傾斜面147の辺HI、及び、第2傾斜面148の辺IJの両方に対して鉛直方向において上方に配置される。これによって、第1傾斜面147、第2傾斜面148のいずれかから落下する土砂が窓74にあたることが抑えられるため、窓74に備わる窓ガラスが傷つくのを防ぐことができる。

前記第2辺とは異なる辺であり、前記右側面、前記上面、及び前記第3傾斜面とのいずれにも接しない第10辺とをさらに有する五角形の形状を有する、請求項7に記載のブルドーザ。
- 前記第3傾斜面は、
前記上面と接する第11辺と、
前記第1傾斜面と接する第12辺と、
前記第2傾斜面と接する第13辺とにより囲まれた三角形の形状を有する、請求項8に記載のブルドーザ。
- 前記第6辺を境界として前記第1傾斜面に接し、前記第1傾斜面よりも大きく下方に傾いている平面である第4傾斜面を含む側壁部をさらに備える、請求項9に記載のブルドーザ。
- 前記側壁部は、前記第10辺を境界として前記第2傾斜面に接し、前記第2傾斜面よりも大きく下方に傾いている平面である第5傾斜面をさらに含む、請求項10に記載のブルドーザ。
