しかしながら、このように接着剤付き金属箔テープで太陽電池モジュールの周縁部を被った構造では、太陽電池モジュールの表面保護部材の表面(受光面)にまで延在した金属箔テープの端部において、当該テープの接着剤が受光面上に露出することがある。そして、このような太陽電池モジュールを長期間にわたって屋外に設置して使用する間に、当該露出した接着剤にゴミやホコリ等の異物が付着して、次第にその異物による汚れが受光面の中央に向かって拡大していくおそれがある。この結果、受光面積が減少し、それにより発電効率が低下してしまうという問題が招来される。
本発明は、上記の点に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的の1つは、良好な耐候性(耐湿性)と発電効率を兼ね備えた太陽電池モジュールを提供することにある。
上述した課題を解決するために、本発明の一態様は、太陽電池素子及び前記太陽電池素子の受光面側に配置された表面保護部材を含んで構成される太陽電池パネルと、前記太陽電池パネルの周縁部において少なくとも前記表面保護部材の表面及び前記太陽電池パネルの側端面を連続して覆うように接着剤で前記太陽電池パネルに貼着された、耐湿性を有する第1被覆部材と、少なくとも前記第1被覆部材の前記表面保護部材側における端部を、前記表面保護部材の表面に接触した状態で覆う第2被覆部材と、を備えることを特徴とする太陽電池モジュールである。
また、本発明の他の一態様は、上記一態様において、前記第2被覆部材は、当該第2被覆部材が前記表面保護部材の前記表面と接触している部分と前記第1被覆部材の前記端部との間に凹部を備え、前記凹部に、前記第2被覆部材を前記太陽電池パネルに貼着するための接着剤が設けられたことを特徴とする太陽電池モジュールである。
また、本発明の他の一態様は、上記一態様において、前記第2被覆部材は、樹脂性のガスケットであることを特徴とする太陽電池モジュールである。
また、本発明の他の一態様は、上記一態様において、前記第2被覆部材の外側表面に凹凸が形成されていることを特徴とする太陽電池モジュールである。
また、本発明の他の一態様は、上記一態様において、前記太陽電池パネルは、前記太陽電池素子の裏面側に配置された裏面保護部材を更に含んで構成されることを特徴とする太陽電池モジュールである。
また、本発明の他の一態様は、上記一態様において、前記第1被覆部材は金属であり、前記第2被覆部材により前記第1被覆部材の前記裏面保護部材側における端部が覆われたことを特徴とする太陽電池モジュールである。
また、本発明の他の一態様は、上記一態様において、前記第1被覆部材は金属であり、前記第1被覆部材の前記裏面保護部材側における端部の少なくとも一部が前記第2被覆部材から露出することを特徴とする太陽電池モジュールである。
本発明によれば、良好な耐候性(耐湿性)と発電効率を兼ね備えた太陽電池モジュールを提供することが可能である。
以下、図面を参照しながら本発明の実施形態について詳しく説明する。なお、各図面は発明の理解を容易にするために提示されたものであり、各図に登場する構成物の形状、寸法、比率、位置関係等は、意図的に誇張又は変形されて描かれることがある。
<第1実施形態>
図1は、本発明の第1実施形態に係る太陽電池モジュール1の全体構成を示す正面図及び断面図である。正面図(a)は、太陽電池モジュール1をその受光面側から見た様子を表し、断面図(b)は、正面図中に示すX-X’線で太陽電池モジュール1を切断した断面を表す。
図1は、本発明の第1実施形態に係る太陽電池モジュール1の全体構成を示す正面図及び断面図である。正面図(a)は、太陽電池モジュール1をその受光面側から見た様子を表し、断面図(b)は、正面図中に示すX-X’線で太陽電池モジュール1を切断した断面を表す。
太陽電池モジュール1は、平面視矩形形状を有する太陽電池パネル10と、太陽電池パネル10の周縁部を覆う第1被覆部材22と、第1被覆部材22の少なくとも端部を覆う第2被覆部材32とを備えて構成される。太陽電池パネル10の周縁部とは、太陽電池パネル10の平面視における矩形の4辺及びその近傍を指す。本実施形態では、第1被覆部材22は、その全体が第2被覆部材32によって完全に覆われており、外側には露出していない。
図2は、太陽電池モジュール1の上記周縁部付近における詳細構造を拡大して示す断面図である。図中、上側が受光面側、下側が裏面側である。以下、同図を参照して太陽電池モジュール1のより具体的な構成を説明する。
太陽電池パネル10は、受光面に光が照射されることにより発電する太陽電池素子12と、太陽電池素子12をその受光面側から保護する表面保護部材14と、太陽電池素子12をその裏面側から保護する裏面保護部材16と、太陽電池素子12を表面保護部材14と裏面保護部材16との間に封止している封止材層18とを備えて構成される。
太陽電池素子12は、例えば、ガラスや金属若しくは樹脂からなる基板上に薄膜の光電変換素子が成膜されて構成された薄膜系の太陽電池素子、又は、単結晶や多結晶のシリコン基板により形成された複数の光電変換素子を直列接続若しくは並列接続してなる結晶系の太陽電池素子である。
表面保護部材14は、強化ガラスや樹脂からなる透明な保護板である。裏面保護部材16は、例えばアルミ箔シートをPET(Polyethylene Terephthalate)樹脂で挟んだ耐候性シートであり、封止材層18への水分等の付着を防ぐ役割を果たす。なお、ガラス板や樹脂製のシート又は板を裏面保護部材16として用いてもよい。封止材層18は、EVA(Ethylene Vinyl Acetate)やPVB(Poly Vinyl Butyral)、オレフィン系樹脂等の一定程度の耐候性を有した樹脂層であり、太陽電池素子12を水分等の周囲環境から保護すると共に、表面保護部材14及び裏面保護部材16を接着する働きをしている。
第1被覆部材22は、水分を透過させない十分な耐湿性を有した部材であり、太陽電池パネル10の側端面S3から表面保護部材14の表面S1及び裏面保護部材16の表面S2へと延在するような形で、接着剤(不図示)によって太陽電池パネル10の周縁部に貼着されている。即ち、太陽電池パネル10の周縁部は、太陽電池パネル10の側端面S3の全面、表面保護部材14の表面S1の一部分(上記側端面S3の近傍)、及び裏面保護部材16の表面S2の一部分(上記側端面S3の近傍)が、耐湿性のある第1被覆部材22によって一体的に連続して覆われている。これにより、水分が側端面S3から封止材層18を伝って太陽電池パネル10の内部へ浸入することが防止される。
第1被覆部材22としては、例えば、薄いテープ状又はシート状の金属(金属箔等)や、高耐湿性の樹脂テープ又はシートを用いることができる。また、金属や樹脂など複数の素材を貼り合わせた複合素材のテープ又はシートを用いてもよい。更に、第1被覆部材22を貼着するための接着剤としては、例えば、ブチル系接着剤やシリコーン系接着剤を用いることができる。より好ましい形態としては、テープ状の金属箔の表面にブチル系接着剤を接着層として形成したものが、耐湿性及び加工性の観点からも良好である。より具体的には、金属箔の表面にブチル系接着剤が接着層として形成されることにより、接着層が太陽電池パネル10の周縁部に接着し、金属箔を容易に太陽電池パネル10に取り付けることが可能となる。
第2被覆部材32は、太陽電池パネル10の周縁部において、少なくとも第1被覆部材22の端部A1を完全に覆い隠すようにして、太陽電池パネル10に取り付けられている。具体的には、第2被覆部材32は、表面保護部材14の表面S1から太陽電池パネル10の側端面S3を経て裏面保護部材16の表面S2まで延在している。更に、表面保護部材14側において、第2被覆部材32の端部B1は、第1被覆部材22の端部A1よりも太陽電池パネル10の内側の位置(太陽電池パネル10の受光面中央に近い側)に存在して、表面保護部材14の表面S1と接触している。また同様に、裏面保護部材16側において、第2被覆部材32の端部B2は、第1被覆部材22の端部A2よりも太陽電池パネル10の内側の位置(太陽電池パネル10の裏面中央に近い側)に存在して、裏面保護部材16の表面S2と接触している。
このように、第1被覆部材22を覆うように第2被覆部材32を形成することにより、第2被覆部材32が太陽電池パネル10の端部を保護することが可能になる。更に、フレームや設置用の取付金具(クランプ等)を用いて太陽電池モジュール1を屋根等の設置面に設置する場合においても、太陽電池モジュール1が第2被覆部材32を備えていることにより、太陽電池パネル10の端部が保護されることになる。
更に、第2被覆部材32は、上記端部B1が表面保護部材14の表面S1に接触している部分と第1被覆部材22の上記端部A1との間、及び、上記端部B2が裏面保護部材16の表面S2に接触している部分と第1被覆部材22の上記端部A2との間に、凹部が設けられるように構成されている。そして、これらの凹部に接着剤40が充填されており、この接着剤40によって、第2被覆部材32は太陽電池パネル10に固定されている。ここで、第2被覆部材32は、熱可塑性エラストマーから成る樹脂性のガスケットであることが好ましいが、本発明はこれに限らず、塩化ビニール、ABS樹脂、及びアクリル樹脂等から成るプラスチックでもよく、更に、アルミ等の金属から成るフレームであってもよい。更に、第2被覆部材32は、内側(第1被覆部材22と接する側)と外側で材質が異なる複層構造であってもよい。この場合、外側に難燃性又は自己消火性の材質のものを用い、内側に接着剤40との密着性の良い材質のものを用いることで、燃え難く且つ外れ難い第2被覆部材32とすることができる。また、接着剤40としては、例えば、シリコーン系接着剤やブチル系接着剤を用いることができる。
このように、第1被覆部材22の表面保護部材14側の端部A1が第2被覆部材32によって覆われており、且つ、第2被覆部材32の表面保護部材14側の端部B1と表面保護部材14の表面S1とが接触しているので、第1被覆部材22の上記端部A1が外気に露出せず、その結果、第1被覆部材22の上記端部A1(前述したように、端部A1には、第1被覆部材22を太陽電池パネル10に貼着している接着剤が露出して存在している可能性がある)への異物の付着を防止することが可能である。これにより、太陽電池パネル10の受光面に異物による汚れが拡がって発電効率が低下してしまうことを回避することができる。
また、第1被覆部材22の上記端部A1、A2と第2被覆部材32の上記端部B1、B2との間の凹部に接着剤40が充填されていることによって、太陽電池パネル10内部への水分の浸入を更に抑制することが可能である。即ち、水分が封止材層18の上記側端面S3の部分へ到達する経路としては、例えば第1被覆部材22と表面保護部材14との境界面、又は第1被覆部材22と裏面保護部材16との境界面を伝わっていく経路が考えうるが、当該経路の入口が接着剤40により閉塞されているため、この経路に水分が入り込むことを防止することができ、これにより、太陽電池パネル10内部への水分の浸入がより一層抑制される。
なお、第2被覆部材32の端部B1が表面保護部材14の表面S1と接触していることにより、接着剤40が第2被覆部材32の端部B1を越えて太陽電池パネル10の受光面側へ漏出してしまうことが防止されている。よって、この接着剤40に異物が付着するおそれはなく、端部A1とB1との間の凹部に接着剤40を充填したことに起因して、太陽電池パネル10の受光面が異物で汚れ、それにより発電効率が低下するという不都合が誘発されることはない。
また、第1被覆部材22が金属製のものである場合には、その裏面保護部材16側の端部A2が第2被覆部材32によって覆われていることによって、第1被覆部材22に誤って手等を触れてしまうことを防止することができ、第1被覆部材22からの感電等を回避することができる。
なお、太陽電池パネル10の側端面S3の部分において、第1被覆部材22と第2被覆部材32との間の隙間に接着剤を充填させてもよい。このようにすることで、第1被覆部材22を介した第2被覆部材32と太陽電池パネル10との接着を、より強固にすることができる。また、第2被覆部材32の側端面S3部分における内面に突起32bを設けることによって、側端面S3部分において第1被覆部材22と第2被覆部材32との間の隙間を一定の大きさに保つことが可能である。これにより、この隙間に充填される接着剤の量を一定量に管理することが可能になる。
図3は、太陽電池モジュールをその外周からフレームにより機械的に支持した構成を示す断面図である。
図3(a)において、フレームFは、第1フランジFa、第2フランジFb、第3フランジFc、及び側壁Fdを含んで構成されており、太陽電池モジュール1の上記第2被覆部材32により覆われている周縁部が第1フランジFaと第2フランジFbとの間に挿入されて、太陽電池モジュール1とフレームFが固定されている。この構成では、樹脂性のガスケットを第2被覆部材32として用いることによって、太陽電池モジュール1とフレームF(第1フランジFa、第2フランジFb)との密着性及び固定性を高めることが可能である。ガスケットとしては、例えば熱可塑性エラストマーを用いることができるが、本発明はこれに限らず、塩化ビニール、ABS樹脂、及びアクリル樹脂等から成るプラスチックであってもよい。また、第2被覆部材32の第1フランジFa又は第2フランジFbと接する面、換言すれば第2被覆部材32の外側表面(第1被覆部材22と接する面とは反対の面)には、複数の凹凸32aが形成されている。凹凸32aは、例えば図示されるように複数のV字状の溝である。このような凹凸32aにより、太陽電池モジュール1とフレームFとの間の摩擦が増し、両者の固定をより強固なものとすることができる。
図3(b)においては、フレームFの構成は図3(a)と同じであるが、第1フランジFaと側壁Fdの一部分(第1フランジFaと第2フランジFbの間の部分)と第2フランジFbとからなるフレームFの一部分が、第2被覆部材32として機能する。即ち、この構成では、フレームFの当該一部分が第2被覆部材32と共用されている。これにより、部品点数を削減することができる。
なお、フレームFの材質としては、金属製、樹脂製など、様々な材質のものを用いることができる。また、図示されたフレームFの形状は一例であり、これに限定されるものではない。
<第2実施形態>
図4は、本発明の第2実施形態に係る太陽電池モジュール2の全体構成を示す断面図である。同図において第1実施形態と同一の構成要素には同一の符号を付し、以下においてその説明を省略することとする。

第2実施形態が第1実施形態と異なる点は、太陽電池モジュール2の裏面側における第1被覆部材24と第2被覆部材34の位置関係である。
即ち、第2被覆部材34の裏面保護部材16側の端部B3は、第1被覆部材24の裏面保護部材16側の端部A3よりも太陽電池パネル10の外側の位置(太陽電池パネル10の裏面中央から遠い側)に存在しており、これにより、第1被覆部材24の端部A3が第2被覆部材34から露出する形となっている。この構成によれば、第1被覆部材24として金属製のものを用いた場合に、第1被覆部材24の当該露出した部分をアース端子として利用することが可能である。
なお、第1被覆部材24の露出した端部A3には、第1被覆部材24を太陽電池パネル10に貼着している接着剤がはみ出して存在することがあるが、そこに異物が付着したとしても太陽電池パネル10の裏面であるため発電効率には影響がない。
以上、本発明の実施形態を説明したが、本発明はこれに限定されず、その要旨を逸脱しない範囲内において様々な変更が可能である。
例えば、太陽電池素子12が薄膜系太陽電池素子である場合には、図5に示すように、太陽電池パネルを、太陽電池素子12の受光面と表面保護部材14との間に封止材層18を設けた構造、即ち、裏面保護部材をなくして太陽電池素子12の基板がパネル11の裏面に露出した構造としてもよい。言い換えれば、太陽電池素子12の基板を裏面保護部材とみなしてもよい。同図において、太陽電池モジュール3の受光面側の構成は第1及び第2実施形態と同じである。一方、太陽電池モジュール3の裏面側においては、第1被覆部材26が、太陽電池パネル11の側端面S3から太陽電池素子12の裏面へと延在して、太陽電池パネル11に貼着されている。また、同じくモジュール裏面側において、第2被覆部材36は、太陽電池パネル11の側端面S3から太陽電池素子12の裏面まで延在しており、第2被覆部材36の端部は、第1被覆部材26の端部よりも太陽電池パネル11の内側の位置(太陽電池パネル11の裏面中央に近い側)に存在して、太陽電池素子12の裏面と接触している。これにより、第1被覆部材26の裏面側の端部が第2被覆部材36に覆われている。なお、上述した第2実施形態のように、第1被覆部材26の裏面側の端部が第2被覆部材36から露出した形態であってもよい。また、図示されるように、モジュール裏面側において表面保護部材14と太陽電池素子12とにより形作られている段差部分に、第1被覆部材26を接着するための接着剤41を充填してもよい。本発明は、このような構成に対しても同様に適用することが可能である。

Claims (7)
- 太陽電池素子及び前記太陽電池素子の受光面側に配置された表面保護部材を含んで構成される太陽電池パネルと、
前記太陽電池パネルの周縁部において少なくとも前記表面保護部材の表面及び前記太陽電池パネルの側端面を連続して覆うように接着剤で前記太陽電池パネルに貼着された、耐湿性を有する第1被覆部材と、
少なくとも前記第1被覆部材の前記表面保護部材側における端部を、前記表面保護部材の表面に接触した状態で覆う第2被覆部材と、
を備えることを特徴とする太陽電池モジュール。 - 前記第2被覆部材は、当該第2被覆部材が前記表面保護部材の前記表面と接触している部分と前記第1被覆部材の前記端部との間に凹部を備え、
前記凹部に、前記第2被覆部材を前記太陽電池パネルに貼着するための接着剤が設けられたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の太陽電池モジュール。 - 前記第2被覆部材は、樹脂性のガスケットであることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
- 前記第2被覆部材の外側表面に凹凸が形成されていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
- 前記太陽電池パネルは、前記太陽電池素子の裏面側に配置された裏面保護部材を更に含んで構成されることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
- 前記第1被覆部材は金属であり、前記第2被覆部材により前記第1被覆部材の前記裏面保護部材側における端部が覆われたことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
- 前記第1被覆部材は金属であり、前記第1被覆部材の前記裏面保護部材側における端部の少なくとも一部が前記第2被覆部材から露出することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の太陽電池モジュール。
