Definitions
- the present invention relates to an organic photoelectric conversion element, an organic thin film solar cell, a composition used for them, a coating film, a polymer, and a compound.
- the present invention relates to a polymer useful as an organic semiconductor polymer of an organic photoelectric conversion element and a compound useful for synthesizing an organic semiconductor polymer.
- Organic semiconductor polymers have been actively researched in recent years in the electronics field.
- Organic semiconductor polymers are used, for example, in organic electroluminescence elements that emit light when electricity is passed, organic photoelectric conversion elements that generate power by light irradiation, organic thin film transistor elements that control the amount of current and voltage, and the like.
- an organic semiconductor material in which a p-type conductivity / semiconductor material as an electron donating material and an n-type conductivity / semiconductor material as an electron-accepting material are combined is used as in the case of the inorganic semiconductor material.
- the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere has become a problem with fossil energy such as petroleum, and so the demand for solar cells is increasing in order to protect the global environment by suppressing global warming.
- Known organic solar cells include wet dye-sensitized solar cells (Gretzel cells) and all-solid organic thin-film solar cells. Since the latter does not use an electrolytic solution, there is no need to consider evaporation or leakage of the electrolytic solution. Moreover, it is possible to give flexibility, and the structure and manufacture of the solar cell become simpler than the former.
- the photoelectric conversion efficiency of the organic thin film solar cell is still insufficient. Since the photoelectric conversion efficiency is calculated by the short circuit current density (Jsc) ⁇ the open circuit voltage (Voc) ⁇ the fill factor (FF), it is necessary to improve each of them in order to increase the photoelectric conversion efficiency.
- a p-type conductive / semiconductor material eg, a donor-acceptor-type thiophene derivative polymer compound
- FF fill factor
- organic semiconductor polymers have been studied as p-type conductive / semiconductor materials from the above viewpoint.
- carbazole and 4,7-di (thiazolyl-2-yl) benzo [c] [1,2,5] thiadiazole as a unit that promotes electron withdrawing have been incorporated into the polymer backbone.
- Donor-acceptor type conjugated polymers have been synthesized and their properties have been investigated (see Non-Patent Document 1).
- organic thin-film solar cells Compared to dye-sensitized solar cells that use the same organic materials, organic thin-film solar cells have the advantages described above and, despite their wide application range, the photoelectric conversion efficiency is higher than that of dye-sensitized solar cells. The reality is that it does not reach the battery.
- the present inventors have studied various p-type polymers, and as a result, found that in addition to the reduction of deep LUMO level and band gap, it is also important to control the molecular weight and solubility of the organic semiconductor polymer. It was.
- the polymer studied in Non-Patent Document 1 does not have a soluble group in the benzothiadiazole part, which is an acceptor unit, and thus has low solubility and low molecular weight, and as a result, it is clear that photoelectric conversion efficiency is low. I made it. That is, in the present invention, by introducing a weak acceptor between the donor and the acceptor, the LUMO level is deepened to reduce the band gap, and a soluble group is introduced into the acceptor part, thereby freeing molecular weight and solubility. It is an object of the present invention to provide an organic photoelectric conversion element, an organic thin-film solar battery, a composition used for this, a coating film, a polymer, and a compound excellent in photoelectric conversion efficiency.
