Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a pretreatment liquid used in an ink jet recording method and an ink jet recording method using the pretreatment liquid.
  • a recording method using an inkjet printer which is one of the representative methods among various color recording methods, generates ink droplets and attaches them to various recording materials (paper, film, fabric, etc.) for recording. Is what you do.
  • This method is quiet because it does not generate sound because the recording head and the recording material are not in direct contact.
  • it since it has the feature that it is easy to reduce the size and increase the speed, it has been spreading rapidly in recent years, and is expected to grow greatly in the future.
  • a recording material such as general-purpose plain paper having a low ink absorption capability is used in addition to the ink jet recording paper or glossy paper having an ink receiving layer as the recording material.
  • a recording material since it is difficult for the ink to penetrate into the recording material as compared with the recording material having an ink receiving layer, it takes more time to dry the ink.
  • high-speed automatic double-sided recording (printing) in which an ink-jet printer immediately reverses the paper recorded on the front surface and then records on the back surface, the reversing rollers are contaminated with undried ink. Such problems may occur.
  • a method has been proposed in which recording is performed with an ink containing a colorant after a pretreatment liquid containing no colorant is applied to the recording material.
  • a recording method using a liquid composition containing a cation-modified polymer has been proposed.
  • a liquid composition containing a cation-modified polymer is used in an acidic state, and thus corrodes a metal member.
  • an alkali metal hydroxide such as sodium hydroxide is contained to change the pH of the liquid composition from neutral to weakly alkaline.
  • a liquid composition containing an alkali metal hydroxide has a phenomenon that it is acidified by storage even if it is neutral to weakly alkaline at the time of preparation, and the problem has not been solved. .
  • mottling In addition to this, in a recording material which does not have an ink receiving layer and is called “non-absorptive” or “difficult to absorb” (hereinafter also referred to as “non-absorptive absorbability”) having low ink receiving property, Even when ordinary recording is performed, a phenomenon called “mottling” is a new problem.
  • the mottling phenomenon is, for example, that when an image with a large amount of ink such as a solid image is recorded, the amount of ink adhering exceeds the ink absorption capacity of the material to be recorded, so that it is not uniformly absorbed by the material to be recorded. This is a phenomenon in which unabsorbed ink droplets are unevenly distributed and fixed on the recording material, resulting in irregular image unevenness. Since recording on a recording material without an ink receiving layer is also actively performed, improvement of mottling is considered as one major problem.
  • a sheet surface treatment agent that does not contain silica or the like, which is known as a material for forming an ink-receiving layer, is disclosed in, for example, Patent Document 1, or a part to which a liquid composition is adhered after the liquid composition is adhered to a paper medium by an inkjet recording method.

Description

Figure JPOXMLDOC01-appb-T000009
Figure JPOXMLDOC01-appb-T000010
Figure JPOXMLDOC01-appb-T000011
