- the motor control device 1 controls the supply of current to the motor 2 by the PWM method in order to rotate the motor 2 at the target rotation speed specified by the control command. Therefore, the motor control device 1 changes the pulse width per cycle of the drive signal according to the target rotation speed. Further, the motor control device 1 has rotated a predetermined angle from the rotary encoder 4 every time a rotation shaft (not shown) of the motor 2 rotates by a predetermined angle in order to rotate the motor 2 by the target rotation amount. Is received, and the total rotation amount from the start of rotation is calculated. Then, the motor control device 1 appropriately decelerates the motor 2 according to the difference between the target rotation amount specified by the control command and the total rotation amount, so that the motor 2 is stopped when the motor 2 is rotated by the target rotation amount. .

- a drive signal may be applied to one of the switches TR1 and TR4 and the other may be always on.
- the switch terminal of the switch TR3 and the switch terminal of the switch TR4 are turned on, and the switch terminal of the switch TR1 and the switch terminal of the switch TR2 are turned off.
- the rotary encoder 4 is an example of a rotation angle sensor, and can be, for example, an optical rotary encoder.
- the rotary encoder 4 is, for example, a disc attached to the rotation shaft of the motor 2 (DC motor) to be controlled and having a plurality of slits along a circumferential direction centering on the rotation shaft, and sandwiches the disc.
- the light source and the light receiving element are arranged so as to face each other. Each time any slit is positioned between the light source and the light receiving element, the light from the light source reaches the light receiving element, whereby the rotary encoder 4 outputs a pulsed detection signal. Thereby, the rotary encoder 4 outputs a detection signal every time the motor 2 rotates by a predetermined angle.
- the rotary encoder 4 can detect 50 detection signals during one rotation of the rotation axis of the motor. Is output.
- the rotary encoder 4 may be omitted when the motor 2 is a stepping motor.
- the motor control device 1 determines the time per step (that is, the step width) according to the target rotational speed, and the stepping motor drive signal generation circuit 15 For each winding of the stator, a pulsed drive signal that is switched on or off in units of steps is generated. Then, the motor control device 1 outputs the drive signal to the motor drive circuit 3 via the output circuit 16 by the number of steps corresponding to the target rotation amount.
- FIG. 4A is a partial circuit diagram of the motor drive circuit 3 when the motor 2 to be controlled is a stepping motor.
- the motor drive circuit 3 includes a switch TR11 connected in series with the coil L1 between the power source and the ground for each winding (coil) L1 of the stator of the stepping motor.
- the switch TR11 can be a transistor or a field effect transistor, for example.
- a switch terminal of the switch TR11 (for example, corresponds to a base terminal if the switch TR11 is a transistor, and corresponds to a gate terminal if the switch TR11 is a field effect transistor) is connected to the output circuit 16.
- the drive signal from the stepping motor drive signal generation circuit 15 is input to the switch terminal of the switch TR11 via the output circuit 16.
- FIG. 4B is a diagram illustrating an example of a drive signal when the stepping motor is driven by the two-phase excitation method.
- four types of drive signals 401 to 404 are output to the motor drive circuit 3, respectively.
- the stepping motor is changed in units of steps by switching the ON / OFF combinations of the groups of these drive signals 401 to 404 in units of steps. Rotate.
- the motor control device 1 can obtain the total rotation amount of the motor 2 without using the rotation angle sensor. None needs to be connected.
- the communication circuit 11 connects the motor control device 1 to a host control device.
- the host control device is, for example, an effect CPU for a gaming machine in which the motor control device 1 is mounted.
- the communication circuit 11 receives a control command having a plurality of bits that are serially transmitted from a higher-level control device.
- the communication circuit 11 may also receive a clock signal for synchronizing with each of a plurality of bits included in the control command from the host control device in order to analyze the control command.
- the control command defines, for example, operation information for specifying the operation of the motor 2 such as a target rotation amount of the motor 2 corresponding to the moving amount of the movable body driven by the motor 2 to be controlled, or settings for the motor 2. Configuration information to be included.
- a set of operation information and setting information for the motor 2 is hereinafter referred to as a command set for convenience.
- One command set defines the operation of the motor.
- the clock signal can be, for example, a signal having a rectangular pulse for every predetermined number of bits in the control command.
- FIG. 5A is a diagram illustrating an example of a format of a control command including operation information.
- the control command 500 including operation information includes a START flag 501, a device address 502, an operation / setting switching flag 503, control data 504, and an END flag 505 in order from the top.
- the control command 500 may include a 1-bit spacer having a value of, for example, “0” between adjacent flags, addresses, and data.
- the START flag 501 is a bit string indicating the head of the control command 500, and in the present embodiment, nine bits having a value of “1” are consecutive bit strings.
- the START flag 501 may be a bit string that does not match any other bit string in the control command 500.
- the device address 502 is identification information for specifying a motor control device to be controlled by the control command 500, and is represented by a bit string having an 8-bit length in this embodiment.
- the device address 502 is determined by the communication circuit 11 as to whether or not it matches the identification address separately received from the host control device. If they match, it is determined that the motor control device 1 is the control target of the control command 500. .
- the operation / setting switching flag 503 is a 1-bit flag indicating whether the control command includes operation information or setting information. In the present embodiment, if the operation / setting switching flag 503 is “0”, the control command includes operation information, and if the operation / setting switching flag 503 is “1”, the control command includes setting information. In the example of FIG. 5A, since the control command 500 includes operation information, the operation / setting switching flag 503 is “0”.
- the control data 504 includes operation information of the motor 2 controlled by the motor control device 1. Specifically, the control data 504 includes a motor type identification flag 5041, a rotation direction flag 5042, speed data 5043, a stop control mode / excitation mode flag 5044, and a rotation amount data 5045.
- the motor type identification flag 5041 is a 1-bit flag indicating the type of the motor 2 to be controlled. In the present embodiment, if the motor type identification flag 5041 is “0”, it indicates that the motor 2 to be controlled is a stepping motor, while if the motor type identification flag 5041 is “1”, It represents that the motor 2 is a DC motor.
- the rotation direction flag 5042 is a 1-bit flag indicating the rotation direction of the motor 2 to be controlled. In the present embodiment, if the rotation direction flag 5042 is “0”, the motor control device 1 causes the motor 2 to rotate forward, while if the rotation direction flag 5042 is “1”, the motor control device 1 The motor 2 is reversed.
- the speed data 5043 represents the target rotational speed of the motor 2 to be controlled.
- the speed data 5043 is a 4-bit long bit string and takes any value from “0” to “15”. If the speed data 5043 is “0”, it means that the motor 2 is braked. That is, if the motor 2 to be controlled is a DC motor, it represents outputting a brake signal for turning on the switches TR3 and TR4 of the motor drive circuit 3. On the other hand, if the motor 2 to be controlled is a stepping motor, it represents outputting a drive signal that is always off. If the speed data 5042 is “1” to “15”, this means that the motor 2 is rotated at the target rotational speed obtained from the value of the speed data 5042 and the speed range set by the setting information. In this example, the larger the value of the speed data 5043, the faster the target rotation speed.
- the stop control mode / excitation mode flag 5044 is a 2-bit flag.
- the motor 2 to be controlled is a DC motor, that is, when the motor type identification flag 5041 is “1”, the motor that has once started rotation. 2 represents a stop control mode for designating a stop method when 2 is stopped. If the stop control mode / excitation mode flag 5044 is “00”, the immediate stop mode is applied. If the stop control mode / excitation mode flag 5044 is “01”, the inertia movement mode is applied. On the other hand, if the stop control mode / excitation mode flag 5044 is “10”, the deceleration control mode is applied. If the stop control mode / excitation mode flag 5044 is “11”, the stepped deceleration mode is applied. Details of the stop control mode will be described later.
- the stop control mode / excitation mode flag 5044 designates the excitation mode of the stepping motor. In this embodiment, if the stop control mode / excitation mode flag 5044 is “00”, the one-phase excitation mode is applied. If the stop control mode / excitation mode flag 5044 is “01”, the two-phase excitation mode is applied. On the other hand, if the stop control mode / excitation mode flag 5044 is '10', the one-two-phase excitation mode is applied.
- the motor 2 may be driven according to an excitation method other than the excitation method described above.
- the rotation amount data 5045 represents the target rotation amount of the motor 2 to be controlled.
- the rotation amount data 5045 is a 13-bit bit string.
- the rotation amount data 5045 represents the target rotation amount by the number of detection signals received from the rotary encoder 4. That is, a value obtained by multiplying the value indicated in the rotation amount data 5045 by the center angle between adjacent slits of the rotary encoder 4 is the actual target rotation amount of the motor 2.
- the rotation amount data 5045 represents the target rotation amount by the number of steps.
- the END flag 505 is a bit string indicating the end of the control command 500.
- the END flag 505 may be a bit string that does not match the START flag and other bit strings included in the control command.
- the rotation direction flag 5042, the speed data 5043, and the rotation amount data 5045 are defined in the same format. For this reason, the host controller can set these values without worrying about whether the motor 2 is a DC motor or a stepping motor, so that the number of steps for developing the host controller can be reduced.
- FIG. 5B is a diagram illustrating an example of a format of a control command including setting information.
- the control command 510 including setting information includes, in order from the top, a START flag 511, a device address 512, an operation / setting switching flag 513, a speed range setting flag 514, and an END flag 515.
- the control command 510 including the setting information indicates that the value of the operation / setting switching flag 513 is “1” and sets the speed range setting flag 514 instead of the control data 504. It is different in including. Therefore, the speed range setting flag 514 will be described below.
- the speed range setting flag 514 has a length of 2 bits, and designates a range that is actually used in the settable range of the rotation speed of the motor 2 as the speed range.
- the motor control device 1 and the upper control device can designate the rotational speed in detail with a relatively small number of bits.
- the motor 2 is a DC motor

According to this modification, the host control device can calculate the value of the rotation amount data of the control command regardless of whether the motor to be controlled is a stepping motor or a DC motor.
- the reference rotation angle is preferably set to an angle that is a common divisor between the minimum detection angle and the rotation angle per step of the stepping motor, for example. Thereby, regardless of whether the motor 2 is a DC motor or a stepping motor, the target rotation amount can be described by an integer multiple of the reference rotation angle.
- the DC motor drive signal generation circuit 14 and the stepping motor drive signal generation circuit 15 may each directly output a pulse signal as a drive signal without going through the output circuit 16.
- one motor control device can simultaneously operate the stepping motor and the DC motor.
