Abstract
Die Erfindung betrifft eine transgene Pflanze der Art Beta vulgaris, in deren Genom eine Nukleinsäure stabil integriert wurde, von der in der Pflanze RNA transkribiert wird, wobei gebildete RNA im Falle eines Befalls der Pflanze mit einem Pilz der Gattung Cercospora von diesem aufgenommen werden kann, so dass die Cercosporin-Biosynthese in dem Pilz derart beeinträchtigt wird, dass der Pilz in seiner biotrophen Wachstumsphase gehemmt wird und die Pflanze im Vergleich zu einer Kontrollpflanze eine gesteigerte Resistenz gegenüber dem Pilz aufweist.
