Owing to the variable length the user can set the angle and length of the limb support in a position which he/she prefers for individual ideal support of the foot and/or the calf.

  • An advantage hereof is that the passenger can rest his/her legs on the limb support, whereby the passenger feels no, or at least less, sensation of fatigue in his/her legs.
  • a particular object of the embodiment is that the rear part of the foot and/or the leg can rest against an upward sloping support surface of the limb support while the underside of the foot is more preferably left free.
  • the whole sitting posture of the passenger is improved by applying the seating improving device, whereby the passenger sits in more relaxed manner in the seat.

  • a further advantage of this embodiment is that it is possible to manufacture a seat surface support member which in placed position has a higher front side than rear side.
  • a further embodiment of the seating improving device has the feature that the underside of the seat surface support member comprises a friction-imparting element. It is advantageous here that the friction- imparting element on the underside of the seat surface support member comprises rubber strips and/or velcro. When a user sits on the seating improving device, the force of gravity causes the person to slide forward. This may result in the seating improving device sliding off the seat, whereby the user can likewise fall off the seat. If a friction-imparting element is provided on the underside of the seat surface support member, the seating improving device will no longer slide off the seat, or significantly less so.
  • An advantage hereof is that the seating improving device provides a reliable seating for the user.
  • a further aspect of the invention relates to an economy class aircraft seat or a bus seat comprising a limb support for supporting a part of the leg extending downward from the seat surface and/or a foot; and/or any further measure according to the invention.
