Definitions
- the present invention relates to a sensor network system including a plurality of sensor nodes.
- a sensor network system having a plurality of sensor nodes is known. Each sensor node detects a physical quantity (for example, temperature, humidity, power consumption, etc.). Each sensor node transmits a packet containing sensor data representing the detected physical quantity to a specific node (sink node) via another sensor node. That is, the plurality of sensor nodes form a wireless multi-hop network.
- a physical quantity for example, temperature, humidity, power consumption, etc.
- Each sensor node transmits a packet containing sensor data representing the detected physical quantity to a specific node (sink node) via another sensor node. That is, the plurality of sensor nodes form a wireless multi-hop network.
- This type of sensor network system often forms (constructs) a network topology having a tree structure using each of a plurality of sensor nodes as nodes.
- the root node in the tree structure is the sink node.
- Such a network topology is often constructed by using a routing protocol suitable for a wireless multi-hop network.
- a routing protocol suitable for a wireless multi-hop network a proactive routing protocol and a reactive routing protocol are known.
- OLSR Optimized Link State Routing
- IETF Internet Engineering Task Force
- a typical example of the reactive routing protocol is the AODV (Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector) protocol or the DSR (Dynamic Source Routing) protocol.
- the AODV protocol and the DSR protocol are protocols defined by the IETF (see Non-Patent Document 2 and Non-Patent Document 3, respectively).
- routing protocols represent the cost (path cost) required for communication to the sink node based on the strength of radio signals received from other sensor nodes and / or the number of hops from the sensor node to the sink node. Calculate the metric value. Further, these routing protocols construct a network topology by determining a parent node for each sensor node based on the calculated metric value.
- the sensor network system described in Patent Document 1 is configured so that the number of child nodes of each sensor node approaches an average value.

- a sensor node when a sensor node receives a packet containing sensor data (packet before aggregation) from each of the child nodes, the sensor node receives a packet (packet after aggregation) containing sensor data contained in each received packet. It is preferable to generate and transmit the generated packet to the parent node. Thereby, the number of packets transmitted from the sensor node to the parent node can be reduced.
- the size of data that can be accommodated by one packet is predetermined. Accordingly, when the number of child nodes of the sensor node is equal to the maximum accommodation number that is the maximum number of sensor data that can be accommodated by one packet, the sensor node transmits one post-assembly packet to the parent node. For example, when the number of child nodes included in the sensor node is one larger than the maximum accommodation number, the sensor node transmits two post-assembly packets to the parent node.
