- the molten metal level measuring apparatus of this embodiment uses an electromagnetic wave in the ultra high frequency band (frequency 300 MHz-3 GHz), the structure is simpler than that of an apparatus using an electromagnetic wave with a higher frequency. Moreover, since the molten metal level measuring apparatus of this invention uses an omnidirectional antenna, it is highly robust with respect to local level fluctuations on the molten metal surface.
- the molten metal is sent by sending electromagnetic waves to a space formed by the mold wall surface and the molten metal surface, except for the upper surface of the mold, and utilizing the reflected wave on the molten metal surface. The level of the surface is measured.

Description
TB =N/(fM1-fM2)
によって定まる測定サイクルTBごとに溶融金属レベル測定を行うように構成されている。
fM1=100.05MHz
fM2=100.00MHz
である。
TB・fM1=TB・fM2+N
この式を整理して以下の式が得られる。
TB =N/(fM1-fM2) (1)
2つのM系列信号の周波数の差が小さいほど、基準信号が最大値となる周期TBは大きくなる。ここで、M系列の1周期の波数Nは、nがシフトレジスタの段数であるとして、一般的に以下の式によって表せる。
N=2n-1 (2)
n=7であれば、N=127である。また、(fM1-fM2)は以下のとおりである。
ここで、基準信号が最大値となる時刻から、つぎに最大値となる時刻までの期間を測定サイクルと呼称する。式(1)に上記の数値を代入すると、本実施形態における測定サイクルは、
TB =127/50kHz=2.54msec
である。
TD・fM2=TD・fM1-τ・fM1
上式を整理するとTDは次の以下の式で与えられる。
TD=τ・fM1/(fM1-fM2) (3)
すなわち、伝播時間τは、fM1/(fM1-fM2)倍だけ時間的に拡大され、あるいは低速化されたTD として測定される。
Claims (7)
- モールド内の溶融金属のレベルを測定する溶融金属レベル測定装置であって、
無指向性の送信アンテナと、
無指向性の受信アンテナと、
信号処理部と、を備え、
該送信アンテナによって該モールド内に放出した、極超短波帯域の電磁波を使用して該モールド内の溶融金属レベルを測定する溶融金属レベル測定装置。 - 前記送信アンテナ及び前記受信アンテナは、溶融金属面より高い位置に、溶融金属面と平行な方向に互いに対向して配置された請求項1に記載の溶融金属レベル測定装置。
- 2種類の周波数の極超短波帯域の電磁波を使用するように構成された請求項1または2に記載の溶融金属レベル測定装置。
- 前記送信アンテナによって送信される電磁波及び前記受信アンテナによって受信される電磁波の位相差を検出することによって、前記モールド内の溶融金属レベルを測定するように構成された請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の溶融金属レベル測定装置。
- 前記送信アンテナから放出される信号を周波数f1の疑似ランダム信号で拡散し、前記受信アンテナが受信した信号を周波数f2(f2<f1)の同一パターンの疑似ランダム信号で逆拡散し、疑似ランダム信号の1周期の波数をNとして、
TB =N/(fM1-fM2)
によって定まる測定サイクルTBごとに溶融金属レベル測定を行うように構成された請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の溶融金属レベル測定装置。 - 測定サイクルTBごとに、2種類の周波数の極超短波帯域の電磁波を切り替えて使用するように構成された請求項5に記載の溶融金属レベル測定装置。
- モールド内の溶融金属のレベルを測定する溶融金属レベル測定方法であって、
無指向性の送信アンテナによって極超短波帯域の電磁波を放出するステップと、
無指向性の受信アンテナによって、溶融金属面に反射された電磁波を受信するステップと、
前記送信アンテナによって放出された電磁波の信号及び前記受信アンテナによって受信された電磁波の信号を、信号処理部によって処理して溶融金属面のレベルを求めるステップと、を含む溶融金属レベル測定方法。
