Definitions
- the present invention relates to an acoustic actuator using an actuator element in which a membrane unit is bonded to a piezoelectric unit. More particularly, the present invention has an actuator element, a support member, and an edge member, and the actuator element generates sound in a wide frequency band. Acoustic actuator for wave motion.
- sound refers to a wave propagating through a medium and is also called a sound wave, and is a vibration phenomenon propagated through the medium.
- Animals as well as humans have hearing organs, so animals can detect sounds, but different species have different sounds and frequencies.
- the audible frequency which is the range of human hearing, is known as 20Hz to 20,000Hz.
- Conventional speakers generate sound by reciprocating a diaphragm, usually called a cone, ie, by moving the diaphragm back and forth.
- a diaphragm usually called a cone
- a woofer that generates low sound
- the air is compressed directly in front of the diaphragm, and when the diaphragm is receded, the air immediately in front of the diaphragm is lean and the air pressure in front of the diaphragm is lowered.
- the front side of the diaphragm when the diaphragm moves forward, the front side of the diaphragm generates "+" sound pressure, and when the diaphragm moves backward, the front of the diaphragm generates "-" sound pressure, thereby generating a wave and the frequency range is approximately 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. When it is enough, it can be perceived by the human ear as sound.
- acoustic actuator refers to a speaker or receiver.
- Piezoelectric speakers are thinner, lighter, and consume less power than conventional VCM (Voice Coil Motor) speakers. Research is being done for the application of this. Piezoelectric speakers are also called piezo buzzers, which take advantage of the reverse piezoelectric phenomenon of piezoelectric elements.
- a conventional piezoelectric speaker is manufactured by adding a piezoelectric element to an upper surface of a circular diaphragm made of metal such as brass, stainless steel, or nickel alloy.
- the present invention has been made to solve the conventional problems as described above, to improve the low-frequency acoustic characteristics, to improve the smoothness in the frequency bandwidth and to improve the sound pressure. It is also intended to minimize the incidental components necessary for sufficient sound pressure. In addition, it is intended to achieve miniaturization by allowing the thickness to be formed.
- An acoustic actuator includes an actuator element for generating a sound corresponding to an applied electric signal; A supporting member for supporting the actuator element so as to form a motion axis of the actuator element; And an edge member connected to the actuator element.
- the actuator element has a length of width
- a piezoelectric unit comprising at least one piezoelectric member; And fixedly bonded to the piezoelectric unit so that the piezoelectric unit extends in the longitudinal direction of the one or more piezoelectric members, and wave movement in the extending direction corresponding to the applied electric signal as a current is applied to the piezoelectric unit.
- a membrane unit including one or more membrane members for generating sound.
- the piezoelectric unit may include a plurality of piezoelectric members disposed in parallel in the width direction on the same plane.
- the membrane unit may further include a driven member adhered to the membrane member such that the membrane unit extends in the longitudinal direction of the membrane member, and amplifies a wave motion of the membrane member.
- the support member may be formed at a position for dividing the actuator element asymmetrically.
- the support member may be attached to the membrane unit and the piezoelectric unit may be formed spaced apart from the support member in the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric unit.
- the membrane unit may include the same number of membrane members as the plurality of piezoelectric members, and each piezoelectric member may be attached to each membrane member.

- the piezoelectric unit may be attached to the upper and lower surfaces of the membrane unit.
- the acoustic actuator according to the sealing of the present invention may further include an elastic member interposed between the actuator element and the support member to allow surface vibration of the actuator element.
- Acoustic actuator system the first acoustic actuator according to the embodiment of the present invention; A second acoustic actuator according to an embodiment of the present invention; And piezoelectric unit drivers for driving the first and second acoustic actuators together.
- Each of the first acoustic actuator and the second acoustic actuator may be asymmetric with respect to the supporting member.
- the first acoustic actuator and the second acoustic actuator may be different from each other, and each of the first acoustic actuator and the second acoustic actuator may be symmetric with respect to the supporting member.
- the first acoustic actuator and the second acoustic actuator may be different from each other, and the first acoustic actuator may be symmetrical with respect to the support member, and the second acoustic actuator may be asymmetrical with respect to the support member.
- the first acoustic actuator may be formed in a cantilevered form, and the second acoustic actuator may be formed in a double cantilevered form.
- the piezoelectric member by forming the piezoelectric member long in the longitudinal direction and designing the actuator element linearly in the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric member, it is possible to implement a low-frequency sound in a small size.
- the sound pressure can be improved by extending the membrane member from the piezoelectric member in the longitudinal direction thereof. Therefore, excellent sound pressure can be obtained without introducing a separate resonance apparatus.
- the components employed such as the piezoelectric member and the membrane member are formed flat on substantially the same plane, the height can be reduced as compared with the conventional method of combining them three-dimensionally.
- the sound pressure can be increased more, and even if a wider membrane member is used, the number of piezoelectric members to be merely attached can be increased, thereby improving productivity / production cost.

- a wave motion of the actuator element 175 may be implemented by applying a power by configuring a circuit as shown in FIG. 5 (c).
- the actuator element 175 When the actuator element 175 is bimorphed, wave motion is controlled by the two piezoelectric members 100 and 100 ', so that the amplitude of the membrane member 200 of the same area is increased. Since the amplitude of the membrane member 200 (or the driven member 250 attached thereto) is converted into a negative pressure, the negative pressure eventually increases.

That is, the piezoelectric member 100 according to the embodiment of the present invention is formed in an elongated shape rather than a shape relatively close to a square. If the difference in length and width is not large, it is difficult to determine the direction of shrinkage / expansion, so that a large difference in length and width may be interpreted as shrinkage / expansion of the piezoelectric member 100 in one direction. Thus, the actuator element 175 according to the embodiment of the present invention will be understood that the wave motion occurs in the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric member 100.
- the piezoelectric member 100 according to the embodiment of the present invention is illustrated as being rectangular, but the protection scope of the present invention should not be understood to be limited thereto.

- the driven member 250 is attached to the end of the membrane member 200, but the protection scope of the present invention is not necessarily limited thereto. It may be attached to the membrane unit 290 in a relatively large area.
- FIG. 6 shows that the driven members 250 are attached to both ends of the membrane unit 290, the protection scope of the present invention is not necessarily limited thereto. Between the membrane unit 290 and the piezoelectric unit 190 up and down, one driven member 250 may be attached to connect both ends of the membrane unit 290.
- the driven member 250 and the adhesive 251 need not be a conductive material.
- the power may be supplied through the electrodes or the membrane member 200 of the piezoelectric members 100 and 100 '.
- the membrane member 200 is a conductive material or rather heavy, such as brass plate, nickel alloy plate, white bronze, phosphor bronze, stainless steel (to be more precise, if the resonance frequency is formed high due to the material characteristics)
- the driven member 250 can be effectively utilized. That is, by using the driven member 250 having a resonance frequency lower than that of the membrane member 200, the entire resonance frequency of the actuator element 175 can be lowered, whereby a lower sound can be effectively exhibited.
- the driven member 250 for this purpose, the skilled person will be able to determine the material and dimensions of the driven member 250 in consideration of the necessary resonant frequency.
- the driven member 250 may be made of at least one material of aluminum, beryllium, magnesium, titanium, pulp, and polymer material.
- the acoustic actuator according to an embodiment of the present invention may be implemented in a cantilevered manner (see FIG. 8) or in a two-armed manner (see FIG. 9).
- a cantilevered manner see FIG. 8
- a two-armed manner see FIG. 9
- FIG. 7 the bolt 351 and the nut 352 are shown as examples of the supporting member 300.
- FIG. 7 (a) shows a cantilever in which the actuator element 175 is formed only in one direction of the bolt 351 and the nut 352 as the support member 300

- this right portion may have a low sound pressure with respect to a high frequency.
- the second, third and higher order resonant frequencies are formed in this right part, but the intensity of the resonance decreases rapidly as the order increases. Therefore, the sound frequency of the high frequency can be compensated by making the resonant frequency in the left portion higher than in the right portion by shortening the length of the left portion or increasing the thickness of the support member 300. Through this, the sound pressure of the entire left and right sides is to improve the smoothness in a wider frequency band.

- the membrane unit 290 is formed of a single membrane member 200, but is driven at the end of the membrane member 200.
- the member 250 is shown to be attached.

It is shown. That is, the plurality of piezoelectric members 100 are disposed in parallel (ie, arranged in the width direction) on the same plane on the single membrane member 200.
- the piezoelectric unit 190 includes a plurality of piezoelectric members 100, and the membrane unit 290 is formed of a single membrane member 200, but is driven at the end of the membrane member 200.
- the member 250 is shown to be attached.

- the piezoelectric members 100 and the membrane member 200 are formed in the same number so that each of the piezoelectric members 100 is adhered to each of the membrane members 200.
- the driven members 250 connect the ends of the membrane members 200 to each other.
- the piezoelectric unit 190 may obtain various advantages by the configuration including a plurality of piezoelectric members 100.
- the piezoelectric member 100 on the membrane member 200 of the same width and length it is attached to a plurality of piezoelectric members 100 arranged in parallel compared to attaching one piezoelectric member 100 It is possible to increase the ratio of the length to the width of the piezoelectric member 100. This makes the widthwise deflection of the piezoelectric member 100 more negligible, which means that the longitudinal wave motion can be amplified more clearly.
- Increasing the width of the membrane unit 290 can increase the sound pressure without affecting the frequency characteristics. That is, when it is necessary to make acoustic actuators of different sound pressures having the same frequency characteristics, membrane units of various widths will be used. In this case, when a single piezoelectric member is used, the width of the piezoelectric member should also be formed according to the width of the membrane unit. However, if a plurality of piezoelectric members are used, it is possible to cope with membrane units of different widths by simply arranging the basic piezoelectric members in the width direction. This means that only a few basic piezoelectric members need to be produced without producing piezoelectric members of various widths in the production process, thereby reducing production costs.
- the length of the piezoelectric member is The piezoelectric member may be formed longer in the width direction of the membrane member or may not be larger than a double. In this case, the operation consistent with the technical spirit of the present invention cannot be expected.
- the acoustic actuator can be constructed in accordance with the technical matters of the present invention by attaching only more piezoelectric members, no matter how wide the membrane member is.
- the support member 300 is illustrated as one member formed in the width direction of the actuator element 175, but the protection scope of the present invention is not necessarily limited thereto. Many variations on nnnnnnnn are possible. Hereinafter, various modifications of the supporting member 300 and various modifications in which they are combined with the actuator element 175 will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 11 to 13.
- FIG. 11 is a diagram illustrating various modifications of the support member 300.
- the support member 300 may be formed as one member formed in the width direction of the actuator element 175. This may be coupled to the bottom of the actuator element 175 as shown in Figure 10 (a). In addition, as shown in FIG. 10 (a), the support member 300 may be coupled to the upper side of the actuator element 175. In addition, as shown in FIG. 10 (c), the support member 300 may be formed above and below the actuator element 175 to be coupled thereto.
- the support member 300 may be a plate-shaped member shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, and may include a bolt 351 and a nut 352 as shown in FIG. 10 (d).
- the bolt / nut type supporting member 300 has already been described with reference to FIGS. 7A and 7B.
- the support member 300 does not necessarily support the actuator element 175 linearly, as shown in FIG. 10 (e), may support one point of the actuator element 175.
- FIG. 12 shows that the bolt 351 and the nut 352 as the support member 300 couple to both the piezoelectric unit 190 and the membrane unit 290 of the actuator element 175.
- 12 (a) shows that the support member 300 is coupled to one end of the piezoelectric unit 190 to implement a cantilever-type acoustic actuator
- FIG. 12 (b) shows that the support member 300 is piezoelectric. It illustrates the implementation of a two-armed type acoustic actuator by coupling to the interior location of the unit 190.
- FIG. 13A illustrates that the piezoelectric unit 190 is formed in close contact with only one direction of the support member 300.
- FIG. 13B illustrates that the piezoelectric unit 190 is spaced apart only in one direction of the support member 300.
- FIG. 13C illustrates that the piezoelectric unit 190 is formed in close contact with both sides of the support member 300.
- FIG. 13D illustrates that the piezoelectric units 190 are spaced apart in both directions of the support member 300.
- the actuator unit 175 may include a plurality of piezoelectric units 190 arranged in the longitudinal direction, and the support member 300 may be coupled to the membrane unit 290 therebetween. have.
- the support member 300 may be in direct contact with the actuator element 175 and coupled, as shown in Figures 12 and 13 It may be to combine through the 360.
- the support member 300 can be firmly combined using a high strength adhesive such as a screw or hard rock. have.
- the elastic member 360 such as rubber, coating cloth, foamed polyurethane, elastomer, and silicone is inserted between the support member 300 and the piezoelectric member 100. can do.
- a soft adhesive may be used as the elastic member 360.
- FIG. 14 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing the operation of an acoustic actuator according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the portion of the membrane unit 290 extending from the piezoelectric unit 190 is shown to vibrate to extend in a straight line from the end of the piezoelectric unit 190, which is an extremely low frequency (ie, for convenience of understanding) This is shown for the frequency (near direct current).
- the vibration of the membrane unit 290 becomes very active to vibrate at a much larger amplitude in preparation for the bending motion of the piezoelectric unit 190. This is generally expressed as a wave motion.
- the membrane unit 290 is shown as oscillating with a sine wave of one frequency and amplitude, but for convenience of understanding, the membrane unit 290 has various frequencies and amplitudes depending on the applied signal. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the membrane unit 290 may vibrate.
- the piezoelectric member 100 is longer than its width
- the membrane member is fixedly attached to the piezoelectric member so as to be formed longer than two times to reliably drive the wave motion in the longitudinal direction rather than the width direction, and to extend the membrane unit in the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric member.
- the actuator element according to the embodiment of the present invention is formed linearly unlike the piezoelectric speaker which is usually formed in a circular shape.
- the linear actuator element 175 in contrast to a known piezoelectric speaker formed in a circular shape, the linear actuator element 175 according to the embodiment of the present invention has a very low resonant frequency, and thus can realize a sufficiently low frequency band even with a very small size.
- the resonance frequency implemented in a conventional piezoelectric buzzer is arranged as shown in FIG. 18.
- the resonance frequency of the actuator element according to the embodiment of the present invention is calculated as follows.
- the size of the thin plate / cantilever to produce 20Hz is as shown in FIG. That is, the diameter of the piezoelectric buzzer should be very large (307mm) in the node support method to produce 20Hz sound, the diameter should be 231mm in the corner support method, and 198mm in the center support method.
- the cantilever-type actuator element according to the embodiment of the present invention even if the length is formed only about 96mm can express a sound of 20Hz. In contrast to a circular piezoelectric speaker, it can be seen that the linear shape itself is implemented in a very small size and its length is not even the radius of a conventional piezoelectric buzzer.
- the portion (that is, the extended portion) formed only by the membrane member compared to the attachment portion of the piezoelectric member and the membrane member 200 is vibrated Obviously, you will be sensitive to it. This means that when alternating current is applied, the extended portion vibrates with a greater width than the piezoelectric member portion. In other words, attaching the piezoelectric member to a portion of the membrane member rather than attaching the piezoelectric member to the entire membrane member means that the sound pressure can be improved through more active vibration.
- 15 and 16 are plan views illustrating various combinations of the first acoustic actuators 610, 710, 810, 910 and the second acoustic actuators 620, 720, 820, 920 as acoustic acoustic system according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 15 (a) illustrates that the first and second acoustic actuators 610 and 620 are formed to have the same dimensions, and the first and second acoustic actuators 610 and 620 are asymmetrical to the left and right of the support member 300.
- System 600 is shown. That is, each of the acoustic actuators 610 and 620, that is, the length of the actuator element 175 is formed differently from each other by l 1 and l 2 with respect to the support member 300.
- the piezoelectric members 190 in each of the acoustic actuators 610 and 620 may also be formed differently with respect to the support member 300.
- the acoustic actuators (610 and 620) are formed in the form of asymmetric double-beams, it means that a plurality of resonant frequencies are implemented. Meanwhile, since the two acoustic actuators 610 and 620 are formed to the same standard, the sound pressures by the two acoustic actuators 610 and 620 are the same. Accordingly, the sound pressure may be doubled than the sound by one of the acoustic actuators 610 and 620.
- FIG. 15A illustrates an example of an acoustic actuator in which the first and second acoustic actuators 610 and 620 are asymmetric with respect to the support member 300, respectively, and the first and second acoustic actuators 610 and 620 are formed to the same standard. Although shown, the protection scope of the present invention should not be understood to be limited thereto. These first and second acoustic actuators 610 and 620 may be formed in different standards. In this case, more resonance frequencies may be realized, thereby improving smoothness.
- FIG. 15 (b) shows that the first and second acoustic actuators 710 and 720 are formed in different dimensions, and the first and second acoustic actuators 610 and 620 are symmetrical with respect to the support member 300, respectively.
- System 700 is shown. Since each of the acoustic actuators 710 and 720 is symmetrically formed, the sound pressure is doubled with the same frequency characteristics as compared with those formed asymmetrically. On the other hand, since the two acoustic actuators 710 and 720 are formed in different standards, the frequency characteristics of these acoustic actuators 710 and 720 may be different, and thus a plurality of resonance frequencies may be implemented.
- one acoustic actuator 710 is formed to have the same length l 1 as the left portion of the acoustic actuators 610 and 620 according to FIG. 15 (a), and the other acoustic actuator ( 720 may be formed to have the same length l 2 as the right portions of the acoustic actuators 610 and 620 of FIG. 15A.
- 16 (a) shows that the first and second acoustic actuators 810 and 820 are formed in different dimensions, and the first acoustic actuator 810 is symmetric with respect to the support member 300, while the second acoustic actuator is symmetrical with respect to the support member 300.
- 820 illustrates an acoustic actuator system 800 that is asymmetric with respect to support member 300. According to the acoustic actuator system 800, more resonant frequencies can be realized as compared to the actuator systems 600 and 700 of FIGS. 15A and 15B, so that smoothness can be improved.
- the acoustic actuator 810 of one of the two acoustic actuators (810, 820) symmetrically with respect to the support member 300, it is possible to double the sound pressure for a specific resonance frequency. That is, when the sound efficiency of a specific frequency band is low due to operating characteristics according to materials and specifications of the piezoelectric member, the membrane member, and the driven member, the sound pressure of the frequency band can be increased. Meanwhile, in FIG. 16A, the length l 2 of the symmetrically formed first acoustic actuator 810 is equal to the length in one direction from the second acoustic actuator 820 and the support member 300 which are asymmetric. Doing. According to such a structure, the sound pressure of a specific frequency band can be increased very much.
- FIG. 16B illustrates the first and second acoustic actuators 910 and 920 having different dimensions, and illustrates the first acoustic actuator 910 as a cantilevered acoustic actuator, and the second acoustic actuator 920. Is shown as a two-armed acoustic actuator. According to this embodiment, the cantilevered acoustic actuator that can have a lower resonance frequency than the two-armed cantilever acoustic actuator of the same size is employed, it is possible to expand the low frequency band that the acoustic actuator system can realize.
- Each of the first and second acoustic actuator combinations 610, 620, 710, 720, 810, 820, 910, 920 may be connected and driven together by a shared piezoelectric unit driver 750 to generate sound.
