Definitions
- the present invention relates to a coherent light receiving apparatus and a coherent light receiving method, and more particularly to a coherent light receiving apparatus and a coherent light receiving method for receiving an optical multiplexed signal by coherent detection.
- Coherent optical transmission technology is attracting attention as one of large capacity technologies.
- an AC (Alternating Current) signal component amplified by mixing signal light and local oscillation (LO) light in a coherent optical receiver is received.

- An example of such a coherent optical receiver is described in Patent Document 1.
- the coherent optical receiver described in Patent Document 1 includes an attenuator, an optical coupler, a receiver, and a processing device.
- the intensity noise of the input signal and the beat signal output of the input signal and the local oscillation (LO) light have different reduction rates according to the attenuation of the input signal. That is, when the power of the input signal is attenuated, the intensity noise of the input signal is reduced faster than the beat signal. Therefore, in the coherent optical receiver of Patent Document 1, the S / N ratio of the beat signal is improved by attenuating the input signal before combining the input signal and the local oscillation (LO) signal. . Control the adjustment value.
- the coherent optical transmission system always receives high-power local oscillation (LO) light. Dynamic range is limited. That is, if the local oscillation (LO) light output is increased in order to improve the minimum reception sensitivity characteristic, the receivable maximum input power is decreased. Therefore, there is a trade-off relationship between the improvement of the minimum reception sensitivity and the extension of the transmission distance and the input dynamic range.

- LO wavelength of oscillation

There was a problem of becoming.

Abstract
Description
ダイナミックレンジが小さくなると、光通信システムにおける光フィルタ、例えばROADM(Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer)フィルタの損失変動、またはEDFA(Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier)による波長損失変動などによる影響を吸収することが出来なくなる。
このような特徴を利用して、WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing:波長分割多重)方式における光多重信号(マルチチャンネル)を、光フィルタを通さずに直接コヒーレント受信器に入力し、所望のチャンネル信号を局部発振(LO)光の波長で選択する光FDM(Frequency Division Multiplexing、周波数分割多重)受信方式が検討されている。
