- the following describes the task placement optimization by the task placement optimization system when the state / task set correspondence table of FIG. 4 and the task set parameters of FIG. 5 are input. Optimization is performed from the viewpoint of averaging the execution times of tasks assigned to each core.
- optimization focusing on the state S1 is performed independently.
- the optimization performed using the optimization method described in Patent Document 1 and the description in the first embodiment are performed. Consider the comparison with the optimization method.
- FIG. 7 is a diagram showing the state of the optimization.

- tasks tasks (tasks A, C, and D) surrounded by broken lines are arranged in the core 0, and other tasks are arranged in the core 1.
- the rows of core 0 and core 1 indicate the total execution time of tasks assigned to each core in each state (S1 to S4).
- optimization focusing on the state S3 is performed. That is, in the state S3, the execution time in the core 0 and the execution time in the core 1 are perfectly balanced (that is, the same value of 32).
- the task is executed only in the core 1 in the state S4, and no task is executed in the core 0. That is, in the state S4, the task arrangement is in an unbalanced state.
- the task placement optimizing system 1 of this example sets the placement having the minimum integrated evaluation function value as the optimum placement.
- Various optimization techniques of various existing techniques can be applied to the optimal arrangement search unit 133. An example of the optimum arrangement calculated by the optimum arrangement searching unit 133 is shown in FIG.
- the state evaluation function value generation unit 131 sets the state evaluation function value as the square of the difference in execution time. That is, the state evaluation function value generation unit 131 generates the square of the difference between the execution time of the core 0 and the execution time of the core 1 as the state evaluation function value.
- the integrated evaluation function value generation unit 132 generates a sum of state evaluation function values in each operation state as an integrated evaluation function value.

- the state evaluation function values in the states S1, S2, S3, and S4 are 2, 2, 2, and 2, respectively.
- the state evaluation value function value is the square of the difference in execution time
- the optimum arrangement search unit 133 determines that the arrangement B is an appropriate arrangement because an arrangement having a small integrated evaluation function value is the optimum arrangement.
- the influence of the operation state having a large balance deviation (state evaluation function value deviation) on the integrated evaluation function value is increased. Therefore, when it is desired to avoid the occurrence of an extremely unbalanced operation state as much as possible, it is effective to set the state evaluation function value as the square of the difference in execution time as in this example.
- the integrated evaluation function is a product of state evaluation function values. That is, the task evaluation function value generation unit 131 generates the absolute value of the difference between the execution time of the core 0 and the execution time of the core 1 as the state evaluation function value. The integrated evaluation function value generation unit 132 generates a product of state evaluation function values in each operation state as an integrated evaluation function value.
- the same arrangement A and arrangement B as in the second embodiment will be examined.
- the optimal arrangement search unit 133 determines that the arrangement A is an appropriate arrangement in order to make an arrangement with a small integrated evaluation function value an optimal arrangement.
- Example 3 a method in which the integrated evaluation function value is the product of the state evaluation function values is effective.
- the integrated evaluation function value is multiplied by the state evaluation function value, if any one of the state evaluation function values is 0, the integrated evaluation function value is 0 regardless of the state evaluation function values of other operation states. For this reason, when determining the calculation method of the state evaluation function value, care must be taken so that the value does not become zero.
- Example 4 As an example of the task placement optimization system 1 according to the fourth embodiment, an example is shown in which a task parameter set describing dependency between tasks is input.
- the state evaluation function value generation unit 131 outputs the number of inter-core dependencies for each operation state as a state evaluation function value.
- Dependency between cores refers to a state in which there are tasks with dependencies and these tasks are arranged across different cores.
- the inter-core dependency number is 1.
- the inter-core dependency number is zero.
- the dependency column describes information on tasks that depend on the task.
- task B, task C, and task G are described in the task A row. This shows that task B, task C, and task G depend on task A. That is, task B, task C, and task G perform the respective processes using the processing result of task A.
- FIG. 10 illustrates the dependency relationships described in the task set parameters shown in FIG.
- FIG. 11 shows a list of operation states of the system and a state / task set correspondence table showing correspondence between sets of tasks that operate for each operation state.
- there are three operating states of the system S5, S6, and S7.
- state S5 task A, task B, task C, task D, and task F operate.
- state S6 task A, task C, task E, task F, and task G operate.
- task A, task C, and task F operate in state S7.
- FIG. 12 shows only tasks that operate in each operation state and valid inter-core dependences by bold lines.
- the optimization method described in Patent Document 1 has one inter-core dependency in all operation states.
- the state evaluation function value generation unit 131 outputs the number of inter-core dependencies for each operation state as the state evaluation function value.
- the integrated evaluation function generation unit 132 calculates an integrated evaluation function value obtained by integrating the state evaluation function values.
- the optimal arrangement search unit 133 performs optimization using the integrated evaluation function value. Thereby, division positions other than the division position 21 in FIGS. 10 and 12 can be candidates.
- FIG. 11 State evaluation function value (Example 4) column).
- the task arrangement optimization system 1 of this example is Arrangement having a better evaluation value, that is, an optimization result in which task A, task B, task C, and task G are arranged in core 0 and task D, task E, and task F are arranged in core 1 (or vice versa) is output. It becomes possible.
- FIG. 13 shows the minimum configuration of the task placement optimization system 1 according to the first exemplary embodiment. This configuration is the same as the configuration of FIG. 1 except that the task set parameters and the state / task set correspondence table are directly supplied to the state evaluation function value generation unit 131.
