Definitions
- the subject of the invention is a warning device comprising an electronic module provided with means for receiving electromagnetic signals to issue a warning to a user based on a notification sent by a remote device.
- Warning devices are known in the form of a bracelet that, by means of a bluetooth connection with a mobile phone, allow the wearer of the bracelet to be warned of receiving telephone calls, allowing the user to warn those calls even if the mobile phone is remote or cannot be heard at be, for example, in silent mode. In this way, the warned user can scroll and answer the phone call.
- known devices are not suitable for use in adverse environments for electronic components, such as a beach, where salt water and sand can access inside the device and damage or even damage electronic components.
- the known warning devices are provided with open straps or with articulated ends that allow the device to be adjusted to the user's arm, so that its antenna must be small in size and confined to the non-adjustable parts of the device.
- the bluetooth standard defines the existence of a pre-established authentication code that must be previously entered in the mobile phone during the initial pairing phase.
- said authentication code is trivial, such as ⁇ ', so it is easily deductible and may involve unauthorized use of the device, or is written on the packaging or in the instruction manual, so it is easily unviable and, without this code, the device would be limited and even unusable and should be replaced or sent to the technical service for finding out of said authentication code.
- objectives of the present invention are to be able to incorporate larger antennas and allow the authentication code to be stored in an accessible and secure manner.
- the warning device of the present invention is comprised of a support and an electronic module provided with means for receiving electromagnetic signals to receive a notification sent by a remote device, such as a mobile phone, of processing means of said notification and transducer means for issuing a notice based on said notification.
- a remote device such as a mobile phone
- the device is characterized in that its support is essentially annular, as a closed band, although it could also be toroidal or have other geometric shapes, and is molded in a flexible, elastic, waterproof and radiolucent material, the electronic module being embedded inside said support, completely isolated from external elements, such as water or sand, which could damage it, while allowing the correct emission and reception of electromagnetic signals.
- the support is essentially annular, flexible and elastic, the device can be used as a bracelet, adapting to the size of the user's wrist. Depending on the size of the support, it can also be used as a bracelet, ring, necklace or other personal complement that allows the user to notice the issuance of the notice.
- the device comprises a battery, embedded inside the support, and means for connecting said battery with the electronic module, such that the battery that feeds the electronic module is also protected from external elements, avoiding that the user can manipulate it.
- the means for connecting said battery to the electronic module comprise a switch that allows connect and disconnect the battery from the electronic module.
- Said switch which may be formed by a push-button, is embedded inside the device holder so that it does not protrude from said support and cannot cause injury to the user who wears it as a bracelet. Therefore, to turn the device on and off, the user must only press the support through the area covered by the button, which may be indicated on the surface of the support for ease.
- the means for receiving electromagnetic signals comprise an antenna arranged circularly around the support and embedded inside said support, being flexible so as not to hinder the flexibility of said support. Since the antenna is embedded inside the support it is also isolated from the external elements that could damage it while allowing to emit and receive electromagnetic signals correctly as the material in which the radio-transparent support is molded at the frequency of reception of the antenna, being, for example, in the band around 2.4GHz used for wireless communications according to the IEEE 802.1 1 standard and bluetooth.
- the device therefore allows advantageously to incorporate one or more antennas embedded in its support with several configurations such as a dipole, a bent dipole, or a turn of one or more turns, said linear antennas being possible, in zigzag or in another arrangement that allows adequate flexibility and elasticity of the support. Being the elastic support and, therefore, being applied as a bracelet during its use, the form of said support and therefore the one that the antenna will adopt in operative position will be predictable and therefore the calculation of said antenna can be properly adjusted during its design for optimal operation.
- the antenna is arranged along the support, allowing the antenna to extend, following the shape of said support, around the user's arm. If necessary, the antenna can even close around the user's wrist as a loop.
- the transducer means comprise a warning vibrating element, such as a motor provided with an eccentric circular part, which when actuated when a notification is received from the remote device allows a vibration to be emitted that is transmitted to the device holder and which It can be warned by a user who has placed the device in mode of bracelet.
- a warning vibrating element such as a motor provided with an eccentric circular part
- the transducer means comprise at least one warning light element that allows a user to visually warn that the device has received a notification from the remote device.
- This luminous element can be simple, such as an electroluminescent diode, which allows the user to be notified that a notification of an incoming call has been received as it is duly illuminated, or complex as a screen in which additional information can also be provided such as the number that makes that incoming call.
- the device comprises a switch embedded inside the support to select the transducer means to be operated. This saves the battery and allows disabling the transducer media that could cause discomfort in certain environments, such as light elements when in a dark room, such as a cinema.
- Said switch can be formed by a button which, when activated, selects different combinations of the actuators of the device.
- the back of the support has an authentication code known by the processing means that must be entered in the remote device for said processing means to accept notifications from said remote device.
- the authentication code is inscribed on the back of the support, it is advantageously hidden from third parties when the user uses the device as a bracelet, preventing third parties from making illegitimate use of the device and allowing the user to quickly remember the authentication code in case you want to remember or add a new remote device.

- Y Fig. 3 is a view of the device of the invention in operative position.
- Fig. 1 represents a section of the warning device 1 in which it can be seen that said device 1 comprises an annular molded support 2 as a closed elastic band, in which an electronic module 3 provided with a means of reception 4 of electromagnetic signals, formed in the variant shown by a circular loop-shaped antenna 12 which, without obstructing the elasticity of the support 2, extends along said support 2.
- Said antenna 12 is adapted to receive electromagnetic signals from of a remote device in the bandwidth, mostly free, of 2.4GHz used, among others, for wireless communications according to the IEEE 802.1 1 standard and bluetooth.
- antenna 12 is used to receive remote device communications in the 2.4GHz band using the bluetooth standard, as will be described later.
- the antenna 12 is connected to the electronic module 3, which comprises processing means 7 of those known in the state of the art, incorporating, among others, a processor, a memory, and an analog-to-digital conversion input-output, which allows the electromagnetic signals received by the antenna 12 to be processed as specified in the bluetooth standard and compute if they correspond to a notification from a remote device, equipped with a bluetooth module, authenticated and therefore must be notified to the user.

- the device 1 also comprises transducer means 13, 14, also embedded in the support 2 and connected with the means of processed 7 of the electronic module 3 to notify the user in case of correctly receiving a notification from a remote device 6, as well as a switch 1 1, which acts as a connection means 10 between a battery 9 and the electronic module 3, and a switch 15 to select the transducer means 13, 14 that must be activated by the processing means 7 when a valid notification is received.
- the transducer means 13, 14 are formed by a vibrating element 13 of those formed by an electric motor provided with an eccentric, suitable for transmitting a warning vibration 13a to the rest of the device 1 and therefore to the user's arm 8 to wear it as a bracelet when the device 1 is in operative position and a visual element 14 such as an electroluminescent diode, suitable for emitting a warning light 14a to the user.
- said transducer means 13, 14 are also embedded in the support 2, so it will be necessary for the vibrating element 13 to be suitable for being overmoulded in said support 2 during the manufacture of the warning device 1 as it is, for example, confined in the inside of a sealed receptacle that allows free rotation of the eccentric after being embedded in the support 2.
- the switch 15 is arranged in one or several protective, flexible and elastic covers that protect the electronic components during the overmolding process by which they are embedded inside the support 2 if they could be damaged during the process.
- the device 1 is provided with a visual element 14, it is envisaged that the material in which the support 2 is molded is translucent or transparent, or at least said support 2 has a translucent or transparent portion adjacent to the visual element 14 that allows the passage of the light 14a emitted by the visual element 14, so that it can be correctly perceived by the user.
- the components electronics are totally isolated and protected from shocks and external agents, such as water, dirt, dust or other materials that usually cause damage to electronic instruments that they are not properly sealed or that by allowing users to manipulate their components they need complex systems to ensure their sealing.

- the outer surface of the device 1 is covered by the material of the support 2, the device 1 can be used in environments not suitable for electronic devices, such as beaches, spas, showers and swimming pools in which the device 1 can very easily enter in contact with water and other elements that could damage electronic components.
- the device 1 Since the battery 9 of the device 1 is embedded in the support 2, the device 1 is considered for single use, since the user cannot access the compartment in which the battery 9 is located, although of course its components are properly sized to optimize the lifetime of the device 1, allowing the user to press the switch 1 button 1 by properly pressing the surface of the support 2 that will transmit said pressure to the button to connect or disconnect the battery 9. It is also possible to operate the switch button 15 analogously through the support 2 to select the transducer means 13, 14 that must be operated. In the described variant, both transducer means 13, 14 will initially be activated, however, when the switch 15 is pressed, a signal will be sent to the processing means 7 to switch to vibration only mode, when said push button is activated again. Switch 15 will be switched to illumination mode only and after a new actuation of said button it will return to the initial state.
- the support 2 is annular closed and elastic, so that the device 1 can be used as a bracelet arranged and adapted around the arm 8 of the user, as seen in Fig. 3.
- the support 2 of the device 1 can be decorated with different motifs, so that it can also be used as a trinket, so after the battery 9 has run out, it can continue to be used simply as an ornamental bracelet.
- other variants incorporate a plurality of batteries or supplementary means of recharging the battery 9, such as solar panels or means of exploiting the movement of the user's arm 8.
- the same antenna 12 or other inductor elements also embedded in the support 2 can be used to recharge the battery 9 by induction from an external electromagnetic field, which can be generated by the remote device 6 as well as one from a dedicated recharger device.
- the processing means 7 To authenticate a notification from a remote device 6, such as a mobile phone equipped with a bluetooth module as shown in Fig. 3, the processing means 7 have an authentication code 16 provided during the programming phase of the device. 1, which must be introduced in the remote device 6 so that it can properly authenticate with the device 1 and the processing means 7 accept the notifications 5 from said remote device 6. It is essential that said authentication code 16 is not trivial and be known only by the legitimate user and not by third parties, who could send malicious notifications that, in addition to being annoying to the user, would quickly drain the battery 9 of the device 1.
- said authentication code 16 is trivial, such as ⁇ ', or is provided in the wrapper oe n the instruction manual, which is easily removable, so if authentication code 16 is unknown, it is not possible to add new remote devices or be able to provide it again to a remote device after, for example, a firmware update .
- said authentication code 16 is registered or engraved on the back of the holder 2, as shown in Fig. 2, and is hidden when the device 1 is in the operative position, arranged as a bracelet as shown in Fig. 3.
- said remote device 6 receives a notification remote 5a, as can be seen in Fig. 3, which can be either an SMS message, a phone call or an email, or simply a preprogrammed alarm is activated on said remote device 6, a bluetooth notification 5 will be sent in a known manner to the device 1 which, after processing said notification 5 in a bluetooth stack implemented in the processing means 7, will activate the transducer means 13 , 14 at predetermined intervals generating vibrations 13a and light 14a to warn the user. It is possible, through Remote device configuration application 6, determine which remote notifications 5a will be notified to device 1 and the sequences of transducer means 13, 14 associated with each remote notification 5a. It is also possible, by means of the authentication code 16 to incorporate a plurality of remote devices 6 to the same device 1 so that it can warn the user of notifications 5 from any one of the remote devices 6.
