- the present invention relates to an escaping/rescuing device for rescuing people from a building in emergency. More particularly, the invention relates to an escaping/rescuing device for allowing people to escape from multi-storey building, from one storey up to hundred storeys and more, and safely land in a controlled manner on the ground in the event of emergency.
- Multi-storey buildings are found all over the world generally, and therefore, in case of fire, terrorist attack, earthquake rescue of trapped persons becomes problematic. Any delay in rescue operation and in reaching a building might cause loss of lives of the building residents if there is no rescue system installed in the building. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an escaping/rescuing device for multi-storey building which can enable people to be rescued from the building, timely and independently of any external rescue services.
- the present invention provides an inexpensive escaping/rescuing device that is very easy to operate by unskilled and/or inexperienced persons. In case of fire or other emergency the source of electricity is generally disconnected. However, for operating this device there is no need of electricity or any other power supply.
- This mechanical device has been prepared for a person to descend on the ground safely in a controlled manner. Using this device a person can descend and land from 10 th floor of the building in around 20 second and from 50 th floor in around 100 seconds and from 100 th floor in around 200 seconds from any direction in a controlled manner. Further, every time after a person descends to ground the device can be re-used again with the same efficiency, since the wire rope of the device is rewindable without any overlapping, looseness or any other defect or deviation from proper rewinding.
- This device has its unique technique. There is a hook on the top side; under perilous condition, the hook of the top side is to be hung or fixed in handle to gallery, grill or window grill or rods or cupboards or doors. Two ring wheels on which a steel flexible cable wire rope is joined at the bottom end of the device are to be hung around shoulders and after tying the safety belt one has to jump down. The person moves towards the ground by two floors in every two seconds.
- this device can save lives of many people, such as in case of fire, terrorist attack, earthquake etc without waiting for external emergency service to arrive.
- the invention provides a self-sufficient emergency life saving device for a building which can be operated without electricity or any other external power supply, the device comprising at least one steel flexible cable wire rope wound on a wire winding roller, to which rope a person to be rescued from the building by descending him in a controlled manner can be securely attached by a pair of handle rings and a belt; at least one means of obtaining reciprocating motion of a connecting rod with a between-rod-step, from the rotational motion of the wire winding roller; and at least one means of resistance to the reciprocating motion of the connecting rod, which device can be hooked to the building at an appropriate place, namely window or pillar or any other such place, with a hollow hinge provided on top of the body of the device, wherein retardation of the descending person is accomplished by obtaining a reciprocating motion from the rotational motion of the wire winding roller, the roller being driven by the load of the descending person, and introducing resistance to the reciprocating motion in order to control the speed of the descending person, through the at least one means of resistance

- the said roller is attached with a gear assembly which is shown as fig no. [14] and [15] in the Drawing and the said gear assembly gives motion to the eccentric wheel which is attached with the said gear assembly and the said eccentric wheel which is shown as fig no [16] is connected with a steel connecting rod shown as fig. No. [17].
- the connecting rod gives motion or pressure on the spring shown as fig no [18] which is one of the twin springs, the other spring shown as fig. No. [19).

- the eccentric wheel which is connected with spur gears, fig [14] and fig [15], which are connected with the wire roller on the other side through a freewheel designed to rotate clockwise, on which wire roller the steel rope is wound, and thus, the movement of the wire roller is controlled by the twin springs.
- the said device can be re-used for second person by rewinding the rope on the wire roller using the handle provided as shown in Drawing no. 1.
- the rope passes through troughs of two threaded rods, and there is a pressure paddle exerting pressure on the windings of the rope on the wire roller with the help of a tension spring, the threaded rods and the pressure paddle together ensuring rewinding of the wire rope on the wire roller in correct line without overlapping, looseness or any other defect or deviation from proper rewinding, when the rope is rewound on the wire roller by rotating the wire roller with a handle connected with the wire roller through a second pressure spring, a freewheel designed to rotate anticlockwise and a bevel gear pair. ;

Abstract
L'invention porte sur un dispositif de sauvetage de détresse autonome destiné à un immeuble, comprenant au moins un câble d'acier, un fil ou une corde (F3) enroulé sur un rouleau (F4), la corde (F3) étant attachée à la personne à sauver ; un train d'engrenages (F14, F15, F16) destiné à engendrer un mouvement alternatif à partir de la rotation du rouleau (F4) et une paire de ressorts opposés (F19, F21) placés dans une chambre (F18) pour conférer une résistance au mouvement alternatif, ce qui permet de réguler la vitesse à laquelle la corde (F3) se déroule.
