  • a plurality of vanes 6 can be provided on the outer surface of the cylindrical wall 3 for creating an air flow inside the brake assembly for preventing or minimizing the accumulation of dust or debris inside the brake assembly and for cooling the brake assembly when the vehicle is in motion.

Abstract

La présente invention a trait à un dispositif de refroidissement anti-poussière ou à un ventilateur qui est utilisé avec un tambour de frein et qui est doté d'une plaque circulaire et d'une paroi cylindrique qui s'étend depuis une surface de la plaque de manière à former un élément de type tambour permettant de recouvrir étroitement un ensemble moyeu de support du tambour de frein. La plaque est pourvue d'une ouverture centrale permettant à la partie de tige de l'essieu d'un véhicule de passer par l'ouverture centrale et d'une pluralité d'ouvertures espacées autour de l'ouverture centrale, chacune des ouvertures est dimensionnée de manière à permettre à un goujon correspondant qui est attaché sur l'ensemble moyeu de support de passer par chacune des ouvertures dans la plaque puis par une ouverture correspondante dans le couvercle de tambour de frein de manière à permettre à la roue d'un véhicule d'être attachée de façon rotative au tambour de frein et à l'essieu du véhicule. La paroi cylindrique est pourvue d'une pluralité d'éléments espacés les uns des autres, ce qui permet à la fois de créer un écoulement d'air à l'intérieur de l'ensemble de frein lorsque le véhicule est en mouvement, d'empêcher la pénétration de la poussière et autre matériau particulaire de petite taille dans le tambour de frein et également de faciliter le refroidissement du tambour de frein.
