Description
ORAL REMEDIAL MINERAL REPLENISHMENT (OMR) PREPARATION
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an oral remedial mineral replenishment (OMR) preparation
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The topical action of the Dead Sea sourced mineral is well documented in the scientific literature (e.g., Boaz M, Shtendik L, Oron M, Portugal-Cohen M, Kohen R, Biro A, Cernes R, Barnea Z, Maor Z, Katzir Z., A randomized controlled clinical trial comparing the efficacy of dead sea mineral-enriched body lotion versus two types of placebo in the treatment of cutaneous dryness, itching, peeling and tightness in hemodialysis patients (EDIT)., Nephron Clin Pract. 2009, 113(3):cl69-76; Portugal- Cohen M, Soroka Y, Ma'or Z, Oron M, Zioni T, Bregegere FM, Neuman R, Kohen R, Milner Y.. Protective effects of a cream containing Dead Sea minerals against UVB- induced stress in human skin, Exp Dermatol. 2009 Sep;18(9):781-8. as well as in the patent literature (E.g., Israel Patent Application IL122297; US Patent US7687065;).
In US Patent Application US20020012697A to Schwartz, the inventor describes a composition comprising mineral salts in cosmetics, tissue cleansing and for treating psoriasis. The inventor also claims a composition comprising a mineral salt emulsified and dispersed in water, a mineral salt, preferably being a composition of Dead Sea salt, having as active ingredients Magnesium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Chloride and water of crystallization and a lipid soluble compound and oils, composition having components present in sufficient quantities to effectively protect the skin tissue within the mouth against an adverse condition and a suitable carrier for permitting formulation as a product for use in the mouth, preferably a toothpaste, cream or mouthwash. The inventor does not claim nor describes any possible of applying the composition of his patent application for replenishment of minerals or for
any other purpose but only to protect the skin tissue within the mouth same as it protect the skin tissue of the body to protect it against adverse conditions.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to oral remedial mineral replenishment (OMR) preparation, without or along with sundry, inert or active ingredients for oral employment
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present patent application is to utilize oral remedial mineral replenishment (OMR) Minerals are important to stay healthy. The body uses minerals for many different applications, including building bones, making hormones and regulating heartbeat. There are two kinds of minerals: macro-minerals and trace minerals. Macro-minerals are minerals the body needs in larger amounts. They include calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium, chloride and sulfur. The body needs likewise also small amounts of trace minerals. These include iron, manganese, copper, iodine, zinc, cobalt, fluoride, selenium and more minute trace elements. While the best way to get the minerals the body needs is by eating a wide variety of foods, or mineral supplements. The novel Dead Sea preparations I formulated contain only natural Dead Sea substances, that encompass the Dead Sea mineral complex that include trace elements such as Cadmium, Selenium, Molybdenum, Iron, Strontium, Vanadium and Fluorine in such a unique constitution that can consequently be considered as an enriched composite source of mineral components for oral remedial mineral replenishment (OMR) wherein the special and unique Dead Sea minerals can be specially considered as "the building blocks of each human cell" Being important constituents of saliva, gums and teeth (See: Berenholc C, Charles J, Rougereau, Mineral composition of saliva and teeth. Human study, Chir Dent Fr. 1971 6;41(49):23-6.),
I noted that as mineral composition of gums and tooth is changed or depleted with age and as a result of various external factors such as diet, diseases, total health conditions etc. The unique Dead Sea Mineral composition can act for the replenishment of de- mineralized tissues of the body such as gums, and tooth and can thus strengthen the
tissues, which regain their normal activity by the replenished minerals. The Dead Sea minerals replenishment of the tissue, encourages the development of invigorated and strengthened tissues, which regain their normal activity.
The present invention is based also on my discovery that pure Dead Sea minerals complex composition can be transformed into a wide range of preparations and utilized in preparations such as gels, gums, candies, sprays, and in tablet or an encapsulated forms to be served as food additives, et cetera, and also can be formed into nano particles preparations for better penetration and absorption into the body of the minerals. Likewise I noted that the oral remedial mineral replenishment (OMR) using the Dead Sea minerals complex has added beneficial effects above and in excess of the mineral replenishment such as prevention of unpleasant mouth smell and antimicrobial inhibitory action more specifically against Gram negative bacteria. I also have also found out that the Dead Sea minerals can be utilized for the purpose of this patent on wet as is basis or dried into relatively dried powder
The present invention will be further illustrated and clarified by the following not limiting.
EXAMPLE I
About <0.2% to >1% of Dead Sea Minerals composition [on dry weight basis] were added to commercial toothpaste, mouth Gel and mouth wash preparations. The preparations were given to be tried by a large number of volunteers over a 2 years period for acceptability tests and general observations. The products were well accepted, compared favourably with the commercial preparations, without added Dead Sea Minerals composition. No ill effects were observed by any of the users.
EXAMPLE II
About <0.05% to >0.2% of Dead Sea Minerals composition [on dry weight basis] were added to commercial small hand pump spray preparation intended to be used for reduction and prevention of unpleasant mouth smell. The preparations were given to be tried by five volunteers over a month period for acceptability tests and general
observations. The product was well accepted, compared favourably with the commercial preparations without added. Dead Sea Minerals composition. No ill effects were observed by any of the users. One of the volunteers that had abrasion wounds in his mouth claimed a quick healing of his cuts after using of the spray that included the Dead Sea Mineral Composition.
EXAMPLE III
0.05% of Dead Sea Minerals composition [on dry weight basis] was incorporated into a "salted" type licorice candy. The candies were given to be tasted by five volunteers for acceptability and comparison to commercial original salted licorice candy without Dead Sea minerals composition. The product was well accepted, compared favourably with the commercial preparations without added Dead Sea Minerals composition. No ill effects were observed by any of the users
There is an almost infinite number of variations and modes to provide for the Dead Sea oral remedial mineral replenishment preparation (OMR), in a different dry matter concentrations, or as compounded preparations to provide an accessible source of the oral remedial mineral replenishment preparation (OMR), This without departing from the spirit of the invention, on condition that the fundamental principle of the employment of Dead Sea Mineral composition as set forth above is followed.
