Definitions
- the present invention relates to an optical fiber and an optical fiber core using the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to a resin that covers the periphery of a bare optical fiber that constitutes an optical fiber.
- optical fibers The recent spread of optical fibers has diversified the environment for laying optical fiber cables. Depending on the installation environment, moisture may enter the inside of the optical fiber cable. Therefore, excellent long-term reliability is required for the optical fiber.
- An optical fiber made of quartz glass used for optical communication is a first layer (primary layer) using a relatively soft resin around a bare optical fiber (glass optical fiber) made of quartz glass composed of a core and a clad. ) And a second layer (secondary layer) using a relatively hard resin is generally used.
- An object of the first layer (primary layer) is to suppress a side pressure from being applied to the bare optical fiber.
- the second layer (secondary layer) is intended to prevent damage or the like of the bare optical fiber.
- an ultraviolet curable resin is often used.
- the conventional optical fiber core has a problem that the adhesion between the primary layer and the bare optical fiber changes when exposed to moisture derived from the use environment.
- the transmission loss of the optical fiber core may increase due to the protrusion of the bare optical fiber, the microbend, or the like that may be caused by the decrease in the adhesion.
- the increase in the adhesion may make it difficult to remove the primary layer covering the bare optical fiber. This removal operation is necessary for maintenance of the optical fiber core.
- Patent Document 1 defines a relationship between the Young's modulus of the soft coating layer (primary layer) and the Young's modulus of the hard coating layer, so that the glass optical fiber (bare optical fiber) and the soft coating layer are soft. It has been proposed to suppress peeling at the interface with the coating layer.
- the stability of the adhesion between the bare optical fiber and the primary layer is insufficient, and further improvement in stability is required.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and provides an optical fiber core wire in which the adhesion between the bare optical fiber and the primary layer is stably maintained even when used in a state exposed to moisture. Let it be an issue.
- An optical fiber core includes a primary layer and a secondary layer laminated on an optical fiber bare wire, and the primary layer is taken into the first silane coupling agent and the resin skeleton taken into the resin skeleton.
- the molar concentration of the first silane coupling agent contained in the ultraviolet curable resin forming the primary layer is multiplied by the number of alkoxyl groups per molecule of the first silane coupling agent.
- the value obtained by multiplying the molar concentration of the second silane coupling agent by the number of alkoxyl groups per molecule of the second silane coupling agent is B, and the water absorption rate of the secondary layer is C.
- the plot may be in a region surrounded by the following four points P5 to P8, and A ⁇ 0.01 and B ⁇ 0.01.
- the second silane coupling agent may be tetraethoxysilane.
- the first silane coupling agent may have a radical polymerizable reactive group and one or more methoxy groups.
- the second silane coupling agent may not have a radical polymerizable reactive group and may have one or more ethoxy groups.
- the water absorption rate of the secondary layer may be in a range of 1.5 to 3.0%.
- the content of the first silane coupling agent may be 0.05 to 10% by mass with respect to the cured ultraviolet curable resin composition forming the primary layer. Good.
- the content of the second silane coupling agent may be 0.05 to 10% by mass with respect to the cured ultraviolet curable resin composition forming the primary layer. Good.
- the optical fiber core according to the embodiment of the present invention stably maintains the adhesion between the bare optical fiber and the primary layer even when used in an environment exposed to moisture. For this reason, the protrusion of the bare optical fiber and the increase in the transmission loss of the optical fiber due to deterioration over time can be suppressed.

Can be considered. On the other hand, due to aging, the adhesion between the primary layer 3 and the bare optical fiber 2 gradually weakens during use.
P2:(C,A+B)=(1.6,0.4)
P3:(C,A+B)=(2.9,0.8)
P4:(C,A+B)=(2.9,0.25)
吸水率C=(w2-w1)/w1×100(%)
P6:(C,A+B)=(1.6,0.22)
P7:(C,A+B)=(2.9,0.42)
P8:(C,A+B)=(2.9,0.25)
