Definitions
- a technique for transmitting the rotation of a certain drive shaft to another drive shaft through a drive medium such as a belt or a chain is used.
- a tensioner is used to set the tension of the driving medium to an appropriate magnitude.
- the tensioner adjusts the tension of the drive medium to an appropriate magnitude by urging the drive medium with an urging member such as a compression spring.
- a driving force transmission device When a driving force transmission device is used, a driving medium such as a belt or a chain rotates, and the rotation of one driving shaft is transmitted to another driving shaft. In the meantime, the tensioner fatigues due to the fluctuating stress from the drive medium. Therefore, when the driving force transmission device is used over a long period of time, maintenance work for the tensioner such as replacement of the urging member is required.
- a driving force transmission device includes a power transmission unit that transmits power through a driving medium formed by a belt or a chain, and a tensioner that applies tension to the driving medium.
- the tensioner includes a compression spring that urges the drive medium, a stopper that prevents the compression spring from contracting below a predetermined length, and an adjustment unit that can push the compression spring in the direction of the drive medium until the predetermined length is reached.
- a method for adjusting a driving force transmission device is applied to a driving force transmission device including a power transmission unit that transmits power through a driving medium and a tensioner that applies tension to the driving medium.
- the tensioner includes a compression spring that urges the drive medium, and a stopper that prevents the compression spring from contracting to a predetermined length or less.
- the method for adjusting the driving force transmission device includes a step of compressing the compression spring to a predetermined length by applying a force in the direction of the driving medium when the tensioner is installed.
- FIG. 1 shows a driving force transmission device.
- the driving force transmission device includes a power transmission unit including a pulley 1 fixed to a certain rotation shaft, a pulley 2 fixed to another rotation shaft, and a loop-shaped belt 3 hung on the pulley.
- a driving medium such as a roller chain and a sprocket may be used instead of the belt 3 and the pulleys 1 and 2.
- the pulley 1 is connected to the coupling 5 and the generator 6.
- the coupling 5 is coupled to a shaft that transmits torque generated by a prime mover or the like.
- the torque of the coupling 5 rotates the pulley 1 and is transmitted to the main generator 6.
- the main generator 6 converts the torque into electric power and supplies it to the outside.
- the position of the spring holding member 16 in the urging direction is adjusted by an adjusting portion including a nut 22 and a bolt 23.
- the operator compresses the spring 18 to a predetermined length by applying a force in the direction of the belt 3 to the spring 18 with the bolt 23 when adjusting the tensioner 4.
- a through-hole penetrating in the expansion / contraction direction of the spring 18 is provided on the bottom surface of the retainer 15. Inside the through hole, a female screw that is screwed with the male screw of the bolt 23 is formed. By rotating the bolt 23, the position of the bolt 23 in the expansion / contraction direction of the spring 18 is set to a desired position. On the outside of the bottom surface of the retainer 15, a nut 22 that prevents loosening by screwing with the bolt 23 is disposed. The tip of the bolt 23 contacts the opposite side of the spring 18 of the spring holding member 16. By adjusting the position of the bolt 23 in the biasing direction, the position of the end portion of the spring 18 on the spring holding member 16 side is changed, and the length thereof can be adjusted. That is, the bolt 23 functions as a jack-up bolt that adjusts the position of the lower end side of the spring 18.
- the opposite side of the spring holding member 17 from the spring 18 is in contact with one end of the contact plate 21.
- the other end of the contact plate 21 contacts one end of the mounting plate 10.
- the tension of the belt 3 is adjusted by applying the elastic force of the spring 18 in the urging direction via the contact plate 21 and the pulley 14.
- FIG. 2 there is a gap of a distance d in the biasing direction between the insertion piece 19 and the insertion piece 20.
- the spring 18 can compress only the distance d.
- the insertion piece 19 and the insertion piece 20 come into contact with each other as shown in FIG. 3, and the contact surface supports the compression force.
- the spring 18 itself is not bottomed. That is, the wire 18 adjacent in the biasing direction of the spring 18 is not compressed to a state where the wires 18 are in contact with each other.
- the urging portion 4a is in a bottomed state.
- FIG. 4 is a side view of a part of the belt 3 and the tensioner 4.
- the retainer 15 has a monitoring window 24 (monitoring windows 24-1 to 24-3).
- Each monitoring window 24 is a window that is long in the urging direction.
- the operator can visually recognize the spring 18 and the insertion pieces 19 and 20 inside the retainer 15 through the monitoring windows 24 from the outside.
- the end of the insertion piece 19 near the belt 3 and the end of the insertion piece 20 facing the end can be visually recognized.
- the mutually opposing end portions of the insertion piece 19 or 20 and the spring holding member 16 or 17 opposed thereto can be visually recognized from the outside of the retainer 15.
- a monitoring window 24 is provided.
- the monitoring window 24 is formed so that the end of at least one insertion piece and the end of another member facing the end can be visually recognized.
- the number of monitoring windows 24 may be one, depending on the design, the wire of the spring 18 may become an obstacle and it may be difficult to visually recognize the state of the spring 18 and the insertion pieces 19 and 20. Therefore, it is desirable to provide a plurality of monitoring windows 24-1 to 24-3 at different positions in the circumferential direction of the retainer 15 as shown in FIG.
- the tension of the belt 3 that is a driving medium is adjusted using both the tension of the belt 3 itself and the tension applied by the tensioner 4.
- T1 in FIG. 5 indicates an upper limit value in a range where the tension of the elastic member is appropriate.
- T3 indicates a lower limit value in a range where the tension of the elastic member is appropriate.
- the driving force transmission device is first adjusted so that the tension of the belt 3 is T1. At this time, the strain of the elastic member is E1. In this state, the tensioner 4 is adjusted by the bolt 23 so that the insertion piece 19 and the insertion piece 20 come into contact with each other as shown in FIG. The driving force transmission device is adjusted so that the tensioner 4 becomes a rigid member with respect to the force in the compression direction in this way when installed.
- the tensioner 4 can be a rigid member without being compressed until the wires of the spring 18 come into contact with each other. This is preferred to avoid fatigue, damage, permanent set, etc. of the spring 18.
- the belt 3 When the driving force transmission device is used, the belt 3 is fatigued and the tension is lowered over a long period of time, and the state moves from point A to point B. During this time, the spring constant of the belt 3 indicated by the slope of the line in FIG. 5 is a dominant region. In this region, the load applied from the belt 3 to the tensioner 4 is received by the contact surface between the insertion piece 19 and the insertion piece 20. Therefore, the spring 18 is hardly subjected to a fluctuating load. Therefore, fatigue of the spring 18 can be avoided during the period used in the region between the points A and B.
- a damper may be provided.
- the damper is not provided in the tensioner 4
- fatigue of the spring 18 can be reduced by the adjusting method of the present embodiment. Therefore, the long-life tensioner 4 can be realized with a simple configuration. Furthermore, the structure which copes with an oil leak like the case where a hydraulic damper is employ
- the state moves from point B to point C, and the tension drops to T3.
- the operator checks in advance the distance d of the gap between the insertion pieces shown in FIG. 2 when the tension drops to T3.
- the operator can know that the tension has decreased to T3 by monitoring the distance d between the insertion pieces from the monitoring windows 24-1 to 24-3.
- the distance d is equal to or longer than a predetermined length, it is determined that the tension is below an appropriate range, and the belt 3 and the tensioner 4 are exchanged.
- the tensioner 4 or the tensioner 4 from the time of installation can be obtained by using the tension of the belt 3 itself and the tension of the spring 18.
- the period until the belt 3 can be replaced (point C) can be lengthened.
- the spring constant of the belt 3 is often larger than the spring constant of the spring 18.
- the relationship between the slope between the points A and B where the spring constant of the belt 3 is dominant in FIG. 5 is greater than the slope between the points B and C where the spring constant of the spring 18 is dominant. Is also shown to be big. Since the spring constant of the belt 3 is large, if an attempt is made to set the tension of the belt 3 within an appropriate range without depending on the tensioner 4, the adjustment range of elongation indicated by the horizontal axis becomes narrow and adjustment becomes difficult. By using the tension of the belt 3 in combination with the spring 18 having a larger spring constant than that of the belt 3, it becomes easy to adjust the tension of the belt 3 within an appropriate range.
