Description
本発明は、電動モータを動力源とする建設機械等の作業機械の充電システムに関する。
一般に建設機械の動力源はエンジンが主流であるが、近年、周囲環境を考慮して電動モータを駆動源とした電気駆動式の建設機械が提案されている(例えば、特許文献1を参照)。このような建設機械には、電動モータに電力を供給するためのバッテリが搭載され、また、電動モータ等の各種電気部品を作動制御する制御装置が設けられる。このような電気駆動式の建設機械においては、バッテリの充電可能容量に応じて作業可能時間が定まるので、1日間の作業が可能な程度の容量を有するバッテリを搭載し、1日の作業が終わってから翌日の作業開始までの間にバッテリの充電を行うような構成が一般的に採用されている。
上述からわかるように、バッテリの充電を主として夜間に行うことが想定されるが、バッテリとして例えばリチウムイオンバッテリを用いる場合、バッテリの温度が低温(-2℃以下)になると充電を行うことができない。これに対し、ヒータを用いてバッテリを加温したり、断熱材等を用いてバッテリを保温したりすることも考えられるが、部品点数が増えてコスト上昇の原因となり、また、ヒータを用いて加温する場合には余計に電力が必要になってしまう。
本発明は、このような問題に鑑みてなされたものであり、低温時でも所定の時間帯に充電を開始することが可能な作業機械の充電システムを提供することを目的とする。
このような目的達成のため、本発明に係る作業機械の充電システムは、作動油を吐出する油圧ポンプと、前記油圧ポンプから吐出される作動油により駆動される油圧アクチュエータと、前記油圧アクチュエータの作動を利用して所定の作業を行う作業装置(例えば、実施形態におけるショベル機構12)と、前記油圧ポンプを作動させる電動モータと、前記電動モータに電力を供給するバッテリとを備えた電気駆動式の作業機械(例えば、実施形態におけるパワーショベル1)の充電システムであって、外部から供給される電力を利用して前記バッテリを充電する充電器と、前記充電器の作動を制御する充電制御部と、前記バッテリの温度を計測する温度計とを有し、前記充電制御部は、前記電動モータの作動が停止したときに所定の時間帯でない場合、前記バッテリの温度が所定温度を超えているときには前記バッテリの充電を停止し、前記バッテリの温度が前記所定温度以下のときには前記バッテリの充電を行って前記バッテリを発熱させ、前記所定の時間帯になると前記バッテリの充電を開始するように前記充電器の作動を制御するようになっている。
なお、上述の発明において、前記油圧ポンプまたは前記油圧アクチュエータの作動によって前記作動油から発生した熱を前記バッテリへ導く伝熱部(例えば、実施形態における送風装置65)を有し、前記伝熱部は、前記電動モータの作動が停止したときに、前記作動油から発生した熱を前記バッテリへ導くことが好ましい。
また、上述の発明において、前記所定の時間帯は、前記外部から供給される電力の料金が他の時間帯よりも安くなる時間帯であることが好ましい。
また、上述の発明において、前記バッテリがリチウムイオンバッテリであることが好ましい。
本発明によれば、充電制御部は、電動モータの作動が停止したときに所定の時間帯でない場合、バッテリの温度が所定温度を超えているときにはバッテリの充電を停止し、バッテリの温度が所定温度以下のときにはバッテリの充電を行ってバッテリを発熱させるように充電器の作動を制御するため、所定の時間帯になったときに、気温が例えば-10℃を下回るような低温であったとしても、バッテリの温度が所定温度を超えた状態でバッテリの充電を開始することができ、低温時でも所定の時間帯に充電を開始することが可能になる。
なお、上述の発明において、油圧ポンプまたは油圧アクチュエータの作動によって作動油から発生した熱をバッテリへ導く伝熱部を有していることが好ましく、このようにすれば、充電を行うことなくバッテリの温度低下を防止することができ、作動油から発生した熱を有効に利用して、低温時における充電の回数を低減させることができる。
また、上述の発明において、所定の時間帯は、外部から供給される電力の料金が他の時間帯よりも安くなる時間帯であることが好ましく、これにより、バッテリの充電コストを低減させることができる。
また、上述の発明において、バッテリは、リチウムイオンバッテリであることが好ましく、これにより、上述の発明で得られる効果を効果的に得ることができる。

走行装置2を構成する左右一対の走行機構3,3は、走行台車4の左右前部に設けられた駆動用スプロケットホイール5と、走行台車4の左右後部に設けられたアイドラホイール6との間に履帯7が巻き掛けられて構成される。駆動用スプロケットホイール5は、例えば油圧モータからなる走行モータ(図示せず)により回転駆動される。ブレード9は、油圧駆動式のブレードシリンダ(図示せず)の作動により揺動される。旋回台11は、例えば油圧モータからなる旋回モータ(図示せず)により旋回動される。

充電システム50は、外部の商用電源55から供給される電力を利用してバッテリ41を充電する充電器51と、充電器51の作動を制御する充電制御部52と、バッテリ41の温度を計測する温度計53とを有して構成される。充電器51は、商用電源55と電気的に接続可能な電源コード(図示せず)を有しており、電源コードの先端に設けられたプラグ(図示せず)を商用電源55のコンセントまたはコネクタ(図示せず)に差し込んで電気的に接続した状態で、バッテリ41の充電を行うようになっている。充電制御部52は、内部時計(図示せず)を有しており、充電器51および温度計53と電気的に接続される。温度計53は、バッテリ41に装着されており、バッテリ41の温度を計測してその計測信号を充電制御部52へ出力する。
なお、バッテリ41は、図3に示すように、旋回台11の後部に設けられたボンネット60の内部に収容される。ボンネット60の内部には、バッテリ41を収容するバッテリ収容部61や、バッテリ収容部61に隣接して油圧ユニット30のタンク31を収容するタンク収容部62が設けられており、さらに、バッテリ収容部61とタンク収容部62との間には送風装置65が配設される。送風装置65は、詳細な図示を省略するが、送風ファンやファンモータ等から構成され、例えば、送風ファンの正転時にタンク収容部62内の空気をバッテリ収容部61内へ送風し、送風ファンの逆転時にバッテリ収容部61内の空気をタンク収容部62内へ送風するようになっている。なお、バッテリ収容部61およびタンク収容部62の下方には、油圧ユニット30の油圧ポンプ32およびポンプ用電動モータ33が収容されるモータ収容部64等が設けられる。
以上のように構成されるパワーショベル1において、運転者がオペレータシート16に着座して操作装置17を操作すると、油圧ポンプ32から吐出された作動油がコントロールバルブ34の供給制御により操作装置17の操作に応じた供給方向および供給量で油圧アクチュエータ35に供給される。このとき、例えば、ブームシリンダ24、アームシリンダ25、およびバケットシリンダ26の作動によってショベル機構12による掘削作業等が行われ、ブレードシリンダ(図示せず)の作動によりブレード9が揺動し、走行モータ(図示せず)の作動により走行装置2が走行し、旋回モータ(図示せず)の作動により旋回台11が旋回する。またこのとき、油圧ポンプ32を駆動するポンプ用電動モータ33は、バッテリ41からインバータ42を介して供給される電力を利用して作動する。
パワーショベル1による掘削等の作業が終了すると、運転者が操作キー(図示せず)等を操作してパワーショベル1を作動停止状態にする。このとき、ポンプ用電動モータ33等の作動が停止することになる。このようにして1日の作業が終わってから翌日の作業開始までの間に、例えば、商用電源55の電力料金が他の時間帯よりも割安な深夜時間帯の電力(いわゆる深夜電力)を利用して、本実施形態の充電システム50によりバッテリ41の充電を行う。このとき、所定の収容スペースに収容されていた電源コード(図示せず)を取り出して、商用電源55と電気的に接続させ、充電スイッチ(図示せず)をON操作することにより、充電器51を用いてバッテリ41の充電を行う。
ここで、充電制御部52による充電制御について、図4に示すタイミングチャートを参照しながら説明する。上述のようにパワーショベル1を作動停止状態にし、充電器51を商用電源55と電気的に接続させて充電スイッチ(図示せず)をON操作すると、充電制御部52は、内部時計(図示せず)の時刻から深夜時間帯(例えば、午後11時~午前7時の時間帯)であると判定した場合、充電器51に駆動信号を出力してバッテリ41の充電を行うように充電器51の作動を制御する。一方、充電制御部52は、内部時計(図示せず)の時刻から深夜時間帯でない(図4における昼時間帯もしくは夜時間帯)と判定した場合、図4に示すように、深夜時間帯になるまで充電器51に停止信号を出力してバッテリ41の充電を停止し、深夜時間帯(例えば、深夜時間帯の開始時刻Tn)になってから充電器51に駆動信号を出力してバッテリ41の充電を開始するように充電器51の作動を制御する。
上述のようにバッテリ41の充電を停止している間、例えば、気温が-10℃であった場合、バッテリ41の温度が低下して気温と同じ-10℃に達すると(図4の二点鎖線を参照)、バッテリ41としてリチウムイオンバッテリを用いているので充電を行うことができなくなる。これに対し、本実施形態では、充電制御部52にバッテリ41の温度計53から計測信号が入力されており、充電制御部52は、内部時計(図示せず)の時刻から深夜時間帯でないと判定した場合、バッテリ41の温度が所定温度(例えば、リチウムイオンバッテリの充電が可能な下限の温度である-2℃)を超えているときには、上述のように充電器51に停止信号を出力してバッテリ41の充電を停止するように充電器51の作動を制御する。一方、バッテリ41の温度が所定温度(-2℃)以下になると、充電制御部52は、充電器51に駆動信号を出力してバッテリ41の充電を行い、バッテリ41の温度が所定温度(-2℃)を超えるまでバッテリ41を発熱させるように充電器51の作動を制御する。これにより、深夜時間帯になったときに、気温が例えば-10℃を下回るような低温であったとしても、バッテリ41の温度が所定温度(-2℃)を超えた状態でバッテリ41の充電を開始することができる。なお、充電制御部52は、バッテリ41の充電を開始してバッテリ41の充電量が所定値を超えたとき、充電器51に停止信号を出力してバッテリ41の充電が終了する。
また、上述のようにバッテリ41の充電を停止している間、充電制御部52は、図3の実線の矢印で示すように、送風装置65の送風ファンを正転させてタンク収容部62内の空気をバッテリ収容部61内へ送風するように送風装置65の作動を制御することが好ましい。これにより、パワーショベル1の作動中に油圧ポンプ32または油圧アクチュエータ35の作動によって作動油から発生した熱をタンク31からバッテリ41へ導くことができるため、充電を行うことなくバッテリ41の温度低下を防止することができ、作動油から発生した熱を有効に利用して、低温時における充電の回数を低減させることができる。なお、パワーショベル1(ポンプ用電動モータ33)の作動時には、バッテリ41の温度上昇を防ぐため、図3の一点鎖線の矢印で示すように、送風装置65の送風ファンを逆転させてバッテリ収容部61内の空気をタンク収容部62内へ送風するように送風装置65の作動を制御するようにしてもよい。これにより、バッテリ41周辺の温度を最適に保つことができる。
以上説明したように、本実施形態によれば、充電制御部52は、パワーショベル1(ポンプ用電動モータ33)の作動が停止したときに深夜時間帯でない場合、バッテリ41の温度が所定温度(例えば、-2℃)を超えているときにはバッテリ41の充電を停止し、バッテリ41の温度が所定温度(-2℃)以下のときにはバッテリ41の充電を行ってバッテリ41を発熱させるように充電器51の作動を制御するため、深夜時間帯になったときに、気温が例えば-10℃を下回るような低温であったとしても、バッテリ41の温度が所定温度(-2℃)を超えた状態でバッテリ41の充電を開始することができ、低温時でも深夜時間帯に充電を開始することが可能になる。なお、バッテリ41としてリチウムイオンバッテリを用いることで、特に高い効果を得ることができる。
また、充電を開始する時間帯は、外部の商用電源55から供給される電力の料金が他の時間帯よりも安くなる深夜時間帯であることが好ましく、これにより、バッテリ41の充電コストを低減させることができる。
また、油圧ポンプ32または油圧アクチュエータ35の作動によって作動油から発生した熱をバッテリ41へ導く送風装置65を有していることが好ましく、このようにすれば、充電を行うことなくバッテリ41の温度低下を防止することができ、作動油から発生した熱を有効に利用して、低温時における充電の回数を低減させることができる。
なお、上述の実施形態において、バッテリ41としてリチウムイオンバッテリを用いているが、これに限られるものではなく、例えば、有機ラジカル電池等の二次電池を用いることができる。
また、上述の実施形態において、充電を開始する時間帯は、電力料金が他の時間帯よりも安くなる深夜時間帯となっているが、これに限られるものではなく、必要に応じてユーザーが設定した所定の時間帯であればよい。
また、上述の実施形態において、充電制御部52は、バッテリ41の温度が-2℃以下のときにバッテリ41の充電を行ってバッテリ41を発熱させるように充電器51の作動を制御しているが、これに限られるものではなく、例えば、バッテリ41としてリチウムイオンバッテリを用いる場合、所定温度は-1℃であってもよく、バッテリ41の充電が可能な(下限近傍の)温度であればよい。
また、上述の実施形態において、充電器51は、外部の商用電源55から供給される電力を利用してバッテリ41を充電しているが、これに限られるものではなく、例えば、発電機から供給される電力を利用するようにしてもよい。
また、上述の実施形態において、充電スイッチ(図示せず)をON操作することにより、深夜時間帯にバッテリ41の充電を開始しているが、このような充電スイッチとは別に、例えば急速充電スイッチを設けて、当該急速充電スイッチをON操作した場合には、深夜時間帯を待たずに充電を開始する機能を追加するようにしてもよい。
また、上述の実施形態において、送風装置65を利用して作動油から発生した熱をタンク31からバッテリ41へ導いているが、これに限られるものではなく、例えば、バッテリ収容部61とタンク収容部62との間に断熱材等によって形成されたシャッター部材を設け、パワーショベル1(ポンプ用電動モータ33)の作動が停止したとき深夜時間帯でない場合にシャッター部材を開いて、作動油から発生した熱をタンク31からバッテリ41へ導くようにしてもよい。
また、上述の実施形態において、充電制御部52は、図1に示すように独立して設けるようにしてもよく、電源システム40の制御装置43に組み込むようにしてもよい。
また、上述の実施形態において、電気駆動式のパワーショベル1を例に説明したが、これに限られるものではなく、例えば、電気駆動式の高所作業車や、移動式クレーン、フォークリフト等、バッテリを備えた電気駆動式の作業機械であれば、本実施形態の充電システムを適用可能である。
また、上述の実施形態において、送風装置65に加えて、図5に示すように、ボンネット60の内部に設けられた充電器収容部63とバッテリ収容部61との間に、補助送風装置66を設けるようにしてもよい。なお、充電器収容部63は、バッテリ収容部61に隣接して充電器51を収容する。また、補助送風装置66は、詳細な図示を省略するが、送風ファンやファンモータ等から構成され、例えば、送風ファンの正転時にバッテリ収容部61内の空気を充電器収容部63内へ送風し、送風ファンの逆転時に充電器収容部63内の空気をバッテリ収容部61内へ送風するようになっている。この補助送風装置66を送風装置65と組み合わせて用いるようにすれば、バッテリ41の加熱および冷却効果をより高めることができる。
ここで、送風装置65および補助送風装置66の作動制御の一例について説明する。パワーショベル1を作動停止状態にし、充電器51を商用電源55と電気的に接続させて充電スイッチ(図示せず)をON操作すると、充電制御部52は、バッテリ41の温度が所定の設定温度以下の場合、図5の実線の矢印で示すように、送風装置65の送風ファンを正転させてタンク収容部62内の空気をバッテリ収容部61内へ送風するように送風装置65の作動を制御するとともに、補助送風装置66の送風ファンを正転させてバッテリ収容部61内の空気を充電器収容部63内へ送風するように補助送風装置66の作動を制御する。これにより、バッテリ41を効果的に温めることができる。そして、充電器51がバッテリ41の充電を開始すると、充電制御部52は、図5の一点鎖線の矢印で示すように、送風装置65の送風ファンを逆転させてバッテリ収容部61内の空気をタンク収容部62内へ送風するように送風装置65の作動を制御するとともに、補助送風装置66の送風ファンを逆転させて充電器収容部63内の空気をバッテリ収容部61内へ送風するように補助送風装置66の作動を制御する。充電中はバッテリ41が発熱して温められるからである。
一方、バッテリ41の温度が所定の設定温度を超えている場合、充電制御部52は、送風装置65の送風ファンを逆転させてバッテリ収容部61内の空気をタンク収容部62内へ送風するように送風装置65の作動を制御するとともに、補助送風装置66の送風ファンを逆転させて充電器収容部63内の空気をバッテリ収容部61内へ送風するように補助送風装置66の作動を制御する。これにより、バッテリ41を効果的に冷却することができる。そして、充電器51がバッテリ41の充電を開始すると、充電制御部52は、同様の制御を継続する。充電中はバッテリ41が発熱して温められるからである。なお、所定の温度は、充電時の発熱によって予想されるバッテリ41の温度(例えば、バッテリ41を20%充電したときの温度)に設定することが好ましい。

Claims (4)
- 作動油を吐出する油圧ポンプと、前記油圧ポンプから吐出される作動油により駆動される油圧アクチュエータと、前記油圧アクチュエータの作動を利用して所定の作業を行う作業装置と、前記油圧ポンプを作動させる電動モータと、前記電動モータに電力を供給するバッテリとを備えた電気駆動式の作業機械の充電システムであって、
外部から供給される電力を利用して前記バッテリを充電する充電器と、
前記充電器の作動を制御する充電制御部と、
前記バッテリの温度を計測する温度計とを有し、
前記充電制御部は、前記電動モータの作動が停止したときに所定の時間帯でない場合、前記バッテリの温度が所定温度を超えているときには前記バッテリの充電を停止し、前記バッテリの温度が前記所定温度以下のときには前記バッテリの充電を行って前記バッテリを発熱させ、前記所定の時間帯になると前記バッテリの充電を開始するように前記充電器の作動を制御することを特徴とする作業機械の充電システム。 - 前記油圧ポンプまたは前記油圧アクチュエータの作動によって前記作動油から発生した熱を前記バッテリへ導く伝熱部を有し、
前記伝熱部は、前記電動モータの作動が停止したときに、前記作動油から発生した熱を前記バッテリへ導くことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の作業機械の充電システム。 - 前記所定の時間帯は、前記外部から供給される電力の料金が他の時間帯よりも安くなる時間帯であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の作業機械の充電システム。
- 前記バッテリがリチウムイオンバッテリであることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の作業機械の充電システム。
