Definitions
- the invention relates to a method that aims to allow the use of RFID (Radio Frecuency IDentification) chip devices in laminated parts, to allow storing all the information related to the part, since its manufacture and throughout its useful life, on the chip Until its disposal.
- RFID Radio Frecuency IDentification
- the invention is applicable in any sector of the industry in which laminated parts are obtained that are obtained by means of taping, which consists in the deposition of different layers that constitute the laminate, and more specifically it is applicable in the aeronautical sector in the manufacturing process of aeronautical carbon fiber parts.
- radio frequency chip devices that are arranged on labels so that the chip allows storing and retrieving data corresponding to the product carrying the tag, for example to transmit the identity of the object and / or data related to it.
- RFID tags are known by means of which a system is established that allows to know the data related to the product carrying the tag.
- This system cannot be applied to aeronautical parts, because it does not comply with the defect regulations and also the labels are glued on the surface of the laminate and therefore are exposed to the outside with the risk that this entails; since they can be detached and can also be damaged easily that determine the loss of information of the lining piece. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
- the invention provides a method that allows the insertion of a chip in laminated pieces of carbon fiber that are obtained by curbing, which consists in the deposition of different strips that form layers that are subsequently compacted by vacuum bag, so that the chip is protected inside the laminate.
- the main novelty of the invention is that the method of manufacturing the laminated part comprises a phase in which a first tape is obtained with a previously calculated thickness that allows a chip to be inserted in the laminate that is being taped and then it practices a recess in the thickness of the first curb with dimensions greater than those of the chip, which subsequently allows the introduction of the chip in the recess practiced.
- a first compaction phase is then carried out by means of which the thickness of the first curb is reduced to a level where the chip flush with the top layer of the first curb recess after the first compaction, and at the same time by this first phase of compaction the air is removed from the inside of the pocket.
- a second curb is made of the rest of the layers that constitute the laminate, on the first curb and a second compaction is performed. Later the laminate is introduced in an autoclave and in this way a cured piece is obtained, for example an aeronautical coating, with the chip inserted in it.
- the second compaction together with the pressure that is provided in the curing cycle of the piece in the autoclave prevents the formation of wrinkles, bubbles, depressions or bulges of the second curb, leaving it cured without defects and with the chip inserted.
- the process of the invention provides that the recessing is carried out by cutting with a blade, which is normally mounted on the same taping head and allows the automatic cutting of the four cuts corresponding to the side walls of the recessing, and subsequently punctured in the surface delimited by the four cuts to then extract the blade with the remaining material establishing the recessed commented.
- the blade has a triangular configuration whose sides that form the cutting tip are arranged at 15 °.
- the invention is of preferential application in the manufacture of aircraft lining parts, which must comply with a defect regulation, for which they are tested by determining whether or not the manufactured parts are manufactured. defective Therefore, the chip must have dimensions that comply with the defect regulation, which in one embodiment of the invention uses a chip with dimensions of 2x2 mm. and a recess with dimensions of 2.15 x 2.15 mm., which determines that the chipped assembly complies with the defect regulations when manufacturing an aircraft liner.
- the chip in the curing of the piece, it is normally subjected to at least a temperature of 180 ° C (depending on the characteristics of the carbon fiber used), so the chip must have a structure that is capable of withstand at least 180 ° C, so that it can function properly after the part manufacturing process.
- the described procedure allows to obtain a laminated piece, for example a coating, with an inserted chip in which all the data is stored referring to the manufactured part, both from the manufacturing point of view, indicating which machine is the one that manufactured it, times used, problems occurred, the records of ultrasonic inspections, as well as the data corresponding to the assembly of the parts in the aircraft , such as repairs, revisions, etc.
- the data of the ultrasonic inspections must be stored throughout the life of the plane to demonstrate in the event of an accident that the part had no problem when it was manufactured. These data are like an "ultrasound" of the coating in which the different defects that it may have are detected, porosities, foreign objects, delaminations, ...
- the radiofrequency chip allows to write and read the data at any time, by means of the use of a conventional writing / reading gun, which allows incorporating, reading, deleting, updating any necessary data.
- Figure 1. It shows an exploded schematic perspective view in which the first and second curbs and the chip exploded before inserting them into the recess made in the first curb of the coating.
- Figure 2. Shows a schematic view of the detail of the recess with the chip inserted in it and with its opening covered by at least one strip of taping.
- Figure 3. Shows a view of the previous assembly with the chip inserted in the coating, after performing the second compaction.
- Figure 4.- Shows a possible embodiment of the blade by means of which the cut is made to make the recess in the coating.
- a lining piece 1 that is conventionally obtained by means of a wrapping process that consists of depositing on a useful strip of pre-impregnated carbon fiber in resins according to different directions that each layer needs to obtain the properties desired.
- the covering 1 has been taped, it is necessary to confer rigidity for which horizontal and vertical stiffeners are used.
- a bag is placed on this assembly with which it is made empty to compact the lining piece and avoid porosities, delaminations, etc.
- the piece is cured by introducing the entire assembly (tool, lining, stiffeners and vacuum bag) into an oven called an autoclave to provide the piece with the desired characteristics.
- the lining piece 1 is subjected to at least 180 ° C and after that it is necessary to remove the vacuum bag.
- the method of the invention differs from the conventional one described in that it comprises a first phase of obtaining a curb 3 with a thickness previously calculated so that the chip 2 is inserted inside the lining piece 1 once manufactured. Once the taping 3 is obtained, a recess 4 is carried out therein with dimensions greater than those of the chip 2, and with a bottom 4a, which allows the subsequent introduction of the chip 2 inside the recess 4.
- the opening of the recess 4 is covered with at least one curb strip 6 with the lowest pressure of curb that can be applied so that wrinkles do not occur and a first compaction is carried out with a vacuum bag of the curb 3, so that the calculated thickness is reduced to a level where the chip 2 flush with the top layer of said curb 3 , and at the same time the air is removed from the inside of the recess 4. Therefore, the calculated thickness must take into account the depth of the recess and how much said depth is reduced when performing the first compaction so that the chip fits with the top layer of the curb 3 after the first compaction.
- a second curb 7 is arranged on the first curb 3 and then a second compaction is carried out so that the chip 2 is inserted in the lining piece 1 whose second curb 7 is perfectly smooth without wrinkles depressions or protrusions .
- chip 2 has dimensions of 2x2 mm. . and the 2.15x2.15 mm recess, which determines that the coating piece obtained complies with the existing defect regulations in the aeronautical sector of cladding pieces since they are dimensions are the maximum allowed in what is refers to defectology related to foreign objects.
- the lining piece 1 must undergo a curing process to obtain the desired characteristics, which consists of introducing the piece into a 180 ° oven, so chip 2 is designed with a configuration that is capable of withstanding said temperature.
- the recessing is carried out by means of a triangular blade 8 whose sides that form the cutting tip are arranged at 15 °.
- This blade 8 is arranged in an automatic machine by means of which four cuts corresponding to the side walls of the recess 4 are applied, with a depth that allows to obtain a recess of dimensions greater than those of the chip 2, which allows thereafter to puncture the surface delimited by the four cuts, whereby removing the blade 8 removes the excess material that defines the recess 4.
