- the two scramble keys Ks_odd and Ks_even received from the CAS module 105 are used alternately for descrambling video / audio data at each key update period (details will be described later).
- the preview control unit 109 generates a playback history based on the start time and end time of the preview playback process in response to the notification from the decoding unit 108, and sends the playback history to the CAS module 105.
- FIG. 5 is a sequence diagram showing a normal operation when the broadcast receiving terminal 1 executes a pay broadcast preview
- FIG. 6 is a sequence diagram showing an abnormal operation when the broadcast receiving terminal 1 executes a pay broadcast preview.
- TS is acquired from the broadcast signal by tuner unit 15A (steps S01 to S02).
- the separation unit 106 of the renderer 102 separates / extracts the video / audio data and the ECM data from the TS (step S03).
- the extracted ECM data is transferred to the ECM decryption unit 110 of the CAS module 105 (step S04).
- the ECM data is decrypted by the ECM decryption unit 110 using the work key Kw, and is included in the ECM data.
- Ks_odd, Ks_even, preview control information, and other control information are passed to the reproduction time calculation unit 111 (step S05).
- the playback time calculation unit 111 compares the contract information stored in the CAS module 105 in advance with the contract determination information included in the ECM data, thereby previewing the broadcast program currently received on the TS. Whether or not is permitted is determined (step S06). When preview playback is permitted, the playback time calculation unit 111 refers to the preview control information and the history information stored in the history information storage unit 113, so that the remaining broadcast program preview playback is possible. Reproduction remaining time information indicating the time is calculated (step S07). Thereafter, the playback time calculation unit 111 passes the remaining playback time information to the renderer 102 together with the scramble keys Ks_odd and Ks_even (step S08).
- the preview control unit 109 of the renderer 102 targets the video / audio data separated from the TS to start the descrambling process using the scramble keys Ks_odd and Ks_even alternately. 107 is controlled (step S09), thereby starting preview reproduction of the video / audio data. Then, the preview control unit 109 controls the descrambling unit 107 so as to continue the descrambling process of the video / audio data for the time indicated by the remaining reproduction time information (step S10), whereby the display unit 103 and the speaker 104 are controlled. Then, the video / audio data is reproduced (step S11).
- the preview control unit 109 controls the descrambling unit 107 to stop the descrambling process (step S12), thereby preview playback of the video / audio data. Stop.
- the preview control unit 109 generates a playback history including the preview playback start time and end time in accordance with the notification from the decoding unit 108 (step S13), and sends the playback history to the CAS module 105 (step S13). S14).
- the playback history may be created at the timing when the descrambling process starts or ends, and video / audio is output to the display unit 103 and the speaker 104 in consideration of the processing time of the descrambling process and the decoding process.
- the preview control unit 109 receives preview deadline information in addition to the remaining reproduction time information from the CAS module 105, and controls the descrambling unit 107 to stop the descrambling process at the time indicated by the preview deadline information. Also good.
- the reproduction history generated by the renderer 102 is stored in the history information storage unit 113 of the CAS module 105 (step S15). If the preview reproduction is terminated by the renderer 102 before the time indicated by the remaining reproduction time information has elapsed (in the case of a user's channel selection instruction or reproduction termination instruction by another user), the rendering time depends on the actual time at that time.
- the playback history is stored. As described above, control of the preview playback time is executed every time the user requests preview playback of video / audio data once.
- the scramble key and the remaining reproduction time information are output from the CAS module 105 to the renderer 102 in response to the broadcast signal received by the tuner unit 15A (steps S101 to S08). S108).
- the timer unit 112 of the CAS module 105 starts measuring the elapsed time after outputting the scramble key (step S109).
- the renderer 102 executes descrambling processing and decoding processing on the video / audio data using the scramble keys Ks_odd and Ks_even (step S110), and the video / audio is displayed on the display unit 103 and the speaker 104.
- the scramble keys Ks_odd and Ks_even are updated from a broadcasting station as ECM data updated at a predetermined cycle, and newly received ECM data is extracted by the separation unit 106 in synchronization with the update cycle. After that, it is passed to the CAS module 105 (steps S112 to S113).
- the playback time calculation unit 111 of the CAS module 105 determines whether or not the elapsed time measured by the timer unit 112 exceeds the remaining playback time calculated in step S107. Thus, an illegal preview reproduction by the renderer 102 is detected (step S114). As a result of the determination, if the elapsed time has exceeded the remaining playback time, the playback time indicated by the playback history is set to the upper limit value and stored, whereby the subsequent scramble keys Ks_odd and Ks_even are sent to the renderer 102. The output is interrupted (step S115). Thereby, the descrambling process and the decoding process by the unauthorized renderer 102 are stopped (step S116).
- history information regarding preview playback of video / audio data is stored in the history information storage unit 113 of the CAS module 105, and a playback time calculation unit of the CAS module 105 is stored.
- the reproduction remaining time information regarding the broadcast program being received is calculated from the reproduction time information and the history information stored in the history information storage unit 113, and the reproduction is performed.
- the remaining time information is passed to the renderer 102 together with the scramble key.
- the preview control unit 109 of the renderer 102 controls the descrambling unit 107 to decode the video / audio data being broadcast using the scramble key for the time indicated by the remaining reproduction time information.
- 107 and the decoding unit 108 decode and reproduce the video / audio data according to this control, and pass the history information about the reproduction to the CAS module 105.
- the renderer 102 responsible for the decoding process and the reproduction process of the video / audio data executes the decoding control of the video / audio data based on the remaining reproduction time information, and therefore depends on the update interval of the scramble key. Thus, reproduction control with high temporal accuracy is realized. Furthermore, since the remaining playback time is calculated based on the playback history by the renderer 102, playback control according to the actual playback time becomes possible.
- the ECM data including Ks_odd and Ks_even is updated and broadcast at the broadcast timing of these data DA0, DA1,.
- the scramble keys Ks_odd and Ks_even included in the ECM data are alternately updated every time the ECM data is updated, a new scramble key is set as the scramble key Ks_even at a certain update timing, and the scramble key Ks_odd at the next update timing. New key data is set in.
- ECM data update cycle if an encryption method with a relatively small processing load such as a 64-bit block cipher is adopted, even if an IC card having a low processing capacity is used, 2 seconds. Even if it is set to such a short cycle, it does not matter much.
- 128-bit or 256-bit block cipher is used for the purpose of increasing the cipher strength in digital broadcasting, the ECM data update cycle is long (for example, from 10 seconds to 10 seconds) in consideration of the processing capacity and power consumption of the IC card. 1 minute) It is necessary to set.
- the reproduction permission time is managed in the CAS module and the scramble key is output to the renderer as in the conventional case, the result is that the preview reproduction excess time unintended by the broadcasting station is allowed.
- the updated scramble keys Ks_3 and Ks_4 are received before the original preview permission time ⁇ T1 has elapsed (time T2) after receiving the first scramble keys Ks_0 and Ks_1 at time T1. Since the data can be acquired by the renderer, preview playback of the data DA4 using the scramble key Ks_4 becomes possible, and the playback time of time ⁇ T2 is exceeded. In other words, conventionally, preview control has been realized only at key update cycle intervals.
- the preview control unit 109 of the renderer 102 controls the preview playback time based on the remaining playback time information passed from the CAS module 105. Even if it becomes longer, reproduction control that does not cause excess time according to the reproduction time set in the ECM data is realized. Furthermore, by calculating the remaining playback time using the preview playback history by the renderer 102, it is possible to control the playback time accurately regardless of the scramble key update period.
- the preview reproduction by the renderer 102 is stopped, so that unauthorized preview reproduction by an unauthorized renderer can be reliably prohibited. it can.
- the CAS module 105 is distributed from the broadcaster to the user of the broadcast receiving terminal, and the renderer 102 is developed by various terminal manufacturers, unauthorized processing due to intentional unauthorized function implementation or functional malfunction is performed. Is prevented.
- the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above.
- the scramble key for preview playback is updated at a predetermined update cycle. Therefore, while the playback remaining time remains after the preview playback is started by the renderer 102, the CAS module 105 transfers to the renderer 102. The output of the scramble key may be repeated.
- FIG. 8 is a sequence diagram showing an operation at the time of executing a pay broadcast preview in the broadcast receiving terminal 1 in such a case.
- the scramble key and the remaining reproduction time information are output from the CAS module 105 to the renderer 102 in response to the reception of the broadcast signal by the tuner unit 15A.
- the preview reproduction is started by 102 (steps S201 to S211).
- the ECM data updated by the tuner unit 15A is received, and the ECM data is extracted by the separation unit 106 (step S212).
- the renderer 102 generates a playback history of preview playback at that time (step S213), and the playback history and ECM data are passed from the renderer 102 to the CAS module 105.
- the CAS module 105 repeats the decoding of the ECM data (step S215) and the calculation of the remaining reproduction time information (step S216) again, and passes the new scramble key and the remaining reproduction time information to the renderer 102. (Step S217).
- the renderer 102 continues the preview reproduction process using the new scramble key (steps S218 and S211).
- the update of the scramble key and the preview reproduction process using the updated key are repeated in accordance with the update time of the ECM data (step S219).
- the CAS module 105 detects the illegal processing by the renderer 102 by measuring the real time using the timer unit and comparing the measurement result with the remaining reproduction time in the same manner as in FIG. Also good.
- the playback time calculation unit 111 detects an illegal preview playback by comparing the measured real time with the remaining playback time, but compares the real time with the playback history. May be detected.
- FIG. 9 is a sequence diagram showing an abnormal operation when pay broadcast preview is executed in the broadcast receiving terminal 1 in such a case.
- the scramble key and the remaining reproduction time information are output from the CAS module 105 to the renderer 102 in response to reception of the broadcast signal by the tuner unit 15A (steps S301 to S308). S308).
- the CAS module 105 starts measuring elapsed time using the timer unit 112 (step S309). Thereafter, in the same manner as the processing in steps S209 to S214 in FIG.
- step S310 to S315) preview reproduction by the renderer 102, and output of updated ECM data and reproduction history from the renderer 102 to the CAS module 105 are executed (steps S310 to S315).
- the playback time calculation unit 111 of the CAS module 105 compares the elapsed time measured by the timer unit 112 with the playback period specified from the playback history at the timing when the playback history is passed. By determining whether or not the time has exceeded the playback period, unauthorized preview playback by the renderer 102 is detected (step S316).
- the playback time indicated by the playback history is set to the upper limit value and stored, so that the subsequent scramble keys Ks_odd and Ks_even are output to the renderer 102 Is interrupted (step S317). As a result, the descrambling process and the decoding process by the unauthorized renderer 102 are stopped (step S318).
- the CAS module 105 also receives type information indicating the model of the broadcast receiving terminal from the renderer 102, and in step S316, the CAS module 105 performs the actual operation for the reproduction history and the reproduction permission time.
- the type information acquired from the renderer 102 is stored, and the output of the scramble key to the renderer 102 corresponding to the type information is prohibited in the subsequent processing. It may work.
- the playback time calculation unit 111 calculates the total playback time for each broadcast program specifying program ID included in the ECM data from the history information storage unit 113, and the remaining playback time is calculated from that time.
- the remaining time information may be calculated from the total time by calculating the total time for each of a plurality of program IDs such as a program group broadcast from the same broadcast channel. For example, when history information as shown in FIG. 4 is stored, the playback time calculation unit 111 performs playback remaining for each broadcast station “A # 1” to which a plurality of program IDs “11” and “12” belong. Time information can also be calculated.
- the program ID is a unique value for each service, a unique value for each channel, or a unique value for a plurality of channels, only a specific program can be previewed or reproduced by using only the program ID.
- various control modes such as limiting the preview playback time can be realized.
- the CAS module 105 assumes an IC card as the hardware to be mounted, but a program downloaded to the broadcast receiving terminal 1 or a program previously mounted on the broadcast receiving terminal 1 Alternatively, it may be realized by an IC circuit board or a combination thereof.
- the history information storage means adds and stores the program information indicating the program or program group to which the reproduction data belongs to the history information relating to the reproduction data, and the calculation means stores the remaining reproduction time information in the program information indicated by the program information.
- the playback control means preferably controls decoding of playback data using the remaining playback time information calculated for each program or program group. In this way, the playback time can be controlled for each program group such as a program to which the playback data belongs or a broadcast channel, so that playback control according to the service provision form on the broadcast data provider side is realized.
- the key information processing unit further includes a measuring unit that measures an elapsed time after passing the key information to the reproduction data processing unit, and collates the history information generated by the decoding unit with the elapsed time, It is also preferable to detect an illegal reproduction process related to the reproduction data and interrupt the delivery of the key information to the reproduction data processing unit when the illegal reproduction process is detected. If such a configuration is adopted, decoding of the reproduction data is disabled when an illegal reproduction process by the reproduction data processing unit is detected, so that illegal reproduction processing by the broadcast receiving terminal can be reliably prevented.
- the key information processing unit further includes a measuring unit that measures an elapsed time after passing the key information to the reproduction data processing unit, and after receiving the type information regarding the broadcast receiving terminal from the reproduction data processing unit, the decoding unit
- the present invention uses a broadcast receiving terminal and a broadcast receiving method, and can realize playback control according to the actual playback time without being affected by the update frequency of the decryption key for playback data to be broadcast. Is.
