Definitions
- This utility model is related to anti-theft mechanisms, in particular, it is a mechanism composed of a tubular base, a plate and a key, which prevents the removal of an outboard motor of a ship and / or the removal of the component bottom of an outboard motor preventing access to the nuts and / or screws located in the crossbar or in the lower component of the outboard motor.
- outboard motors are removably attached to vessels by means of nuts and bolts; Therefore, an outboard motor can easily and quickly be removed from the boat using simple tools.
- boats are usually located outdoors, where thieves have easy access to them.
- said mechanisms are made of materials that, over time and by the continuous interaction with the sea salt, are subject to corrosion, which causes their useful life to be significantly reduced.
- these mechanisms prevents the engine from starting with them installed. That is, these anti-theft mechanisms must be constantly manipulated: they must be installed with the engine off and removed in order to move the boat. This obviously entails many inconveniences, apart from the inconvenience, you can easily forget to install them again or it may happen that they are improperly installed, thus exposing the outboard motor to possible thefts.
- the ANTI-THEROBLOCK BLOCK SCREW has the following advantages:
- the material of its manufacture is resistant to the corrosive agents of the sea salt, so that the useful life of the BLOCK BOLTING SCREW is not affected by said agents.
- the ANTI-THEFT BLOCK SCREW is designed in such a way that once installed, it does not have to be removed to start the engine, move the boat. In short, it will only be removed with the same engine overhaul. That is, it is a mechanism that once installed, becomes an integral part of the outboard motor. The fact of not having to be removed contributes to the longevity of the ANTI-THEFT BLOCK SCREW.
- the ANTI-THEFT BLOCK SCREW protects not only the engine as such, but can also be installed to prevent the removal of the lower part of it, thus fulfilling a double function and which no mechanism until today fulfilled.
- the ANTIRROBO BLOCK SCREW also has an accessible cost and is very light, so it is easily manipulated.
- the BLOCK SCREW BLOCKER is composed of three sections, a hollow tubular base (FIGURE 1 - A), a sheet or lock (FIGURE 1 - B) and a wrench (FIGURE 1 - C).
- the hollow tubular base (FIGURE 1 - A) is composed of a perimeter wall (FIGURE 1 - D) with an upper extremity (FIGURE 1 - E), a lower extremity (FIGURE 1 - F) and an internal surface (FIGURE 1 - G ) and an external surface (FIGURE 1-H).
- FIGURE 1 - K An opening (FIGURE 1 - K) is located in the upper extremity (FIGURE 1 - E) of the tubular base (FIGURE 1 - A) to allow the insertion of the head of a screw (FIGURE 5 - Q), a nut ( FIGURE 6 - U) and / or a ratchet through the opening (FIGURE 1 - K) in the direction of the neck (FIGURE 1 - 1).
- the sheet is screwed to the base using the key that is coupled with the sheet through the coupling means located in the key and in the sheet.
- This coupling can be a male (FIGURE 1 - N) and female (FIGURE 2 - O) connection, which have corresponding geometric shapes (FIGURES 1 and 2) or a plurality of male (FIGURE 3 - N) and female (FIGURE 3 - O), as lace and gaps (FIGURES 3 and 4).
- FIG. 1 - B Since the surface of the sheet after screwing (FIGURE 1 - B) is not flush with the surface of the upper extremity (FIGURE 1 - E) of the tubular base (FIGURE 1 - E), but is located below this, the sheet (FIGURE 1 - B) cannot be removed from the tubular base (FIGURE 1 - E) with ordinary tools, such as pliers for example.
- a head (FIGURE 1 - P) is located on the key (FIGURE 1 - L) to allow the user to turn the key with a ratchet.
- the ANTI-THEFT BLOCK SCREW described above can be used to prevent the removal of the outboard motor from the ship (FIGURE 5) or to prevent its lower unit from being removed from the same engine (FIGURE 6).
- the ANTI-THEROB BLOCK SCREW is an absolute novelty since the lower units of the outboard motors, in addition to being highly wished by thieves, until now had no protection mechanism.
- the ANTI-THEFT BLOCK SCREW When the ANTI-THEFT BLOCK SCREW is used to secure an outboard motor to a ship, it protects the head (FIGURE 5 - Q) of the screw (FIGURE - R) that joins the engine to the ship.
- the user To use the ANTI-THEFT BLOCK SCREW, the user must insert the body (FIGURE 5 - S) of the screw (FIGURE 5 - R) through the opening (FIGURE 5 - K) of the upper extremity (FIGURE 5 - E) of the tubular base (FIGURE 1 - A) and through the opening (FIGURE 1 - J) created by the neck (FIGURE 1 - 1) so that the screw head (FIGURE 5 - Q) is located within the tubular base (FIGURE 1 - A).
- the body (FIGURE 5 - S) of the screw (FIGURE 5 - R) is inserted into the cavity arranged for it of the boat (FIGURE 5 - T), a cavity through which the outboard motor is normally screwed to the boat, and the screw is tightened (FIGURE 5 - R) so that the neck (FIGURE 5 - 1) of the base (FIGURE 1 - A) is located between the Crossing of the ship (FIGURE 5 - T) and the screw head (FIGURE 5 - Q).
- FIGURE 6 - S of the screw in the motor cavity through which the two units, upper and lower, are connected (FIGURE 6 - T) and the opening (FIGURE 2 - 1) located in the lower extremity ( FIGURE 2 - F) of the base.
- the nut (FIGURE 6 - U) is located in the screw (FIGURE 6 - S) and the nut is tightened so that the neck (FIGURE 6 - 1) of the base (FIGURE 1 - A) is between the connection of both motor units (FIGURE 6 - T) and the nut (FIGURE 6 - U).
- the ANTI-THEFT BLOCK SCREW is a system that can assure various elements, it is not limited to the use on an outboard motor and on the lower unit thereof.
