Furthermore, the gradual deflation of the dumper cushion 10b prevents the phenomenon of elastic return of the energy accumulated by a back pressed against the backrest 34. The forward rebound of the back which, as explained previously, can cause e further hyperflexion of the head, is thus reduced or completely cancelled.

Abstract
L'invention concerne un coussin amortisseur (10 ; 10a, 10b) procurant une protection contre le coup du lapin, adapté pour être posé sur l'appui-tête et/ou le dossier du siège d'un véhicule motorisé. Le coussin amortisseur (10 ; 10a, 10b) comporte une enveloppe creuse (12 ; 12a, 12b) remplie d'air et ayant un trou étalonné (14 ; 14a, 14b) en communication avec l'extérieur pour permettre un dégonflage progressif du coussin amortisseur (10 ; 10a, 10b) sous l'action d'une force de compression (Ft, Fs) exercée dessus et un regonflage progressif ultérieur de celui-ci suite à l'interruption de la force de compression exercée (Ft, Fs).
